Excellent spot we found in the area. Very friendly owners and delicious food. They were so kind and gave us items on the house. I felt bad it was empty on a Saturday night. We must come back!

The food is great. Generous portions and delicious. Plus the ladies who run the place are so lovely and sweet. You can tell they have enthusiasm for what they do. The atmosphere is lovely. Makes you feel like you're in Turkey. And they do a great job with the presentation of the food. IF you're going out on a date, and want to impress the person by showing them you're worldly and sophisticated, this is the place. Come on, for once in your life be somebody. Don't be a nobody, be somebody! Also they give you delicious bread.

Food: 3.75/5 Service: 5/5 Interior: 5/5 The server was very nice and shared his recommendations on what to get during lunchtime. It probably helped that we were the only ones in at the time. For the lunch special, I got a Shepherd Salad and Lamb Kebab. The salad was refreshing and a good starter as someone who likes tomatoes. The bread was also warm and fresh. For the main dish, the lamb kebab was a bit salty. It worked out since I ate it with the rice and salad for a balanced flavor. We ended the meal with baklava and Turkish tea. Sadly, the baklava phyllo pastry didn't stay crispy. The syrup made the dessert closer to mushy. The Turkish tea's flavor helped balance the sweetness of the baklava.

What an amazing place!! The staff makes you feel like you're dining with family in a traditional Turkish Village. The food is phenomenal everything we tried was amazing. I really enjoyed the salads, dips and the main course was excellent!

Nephew brought me here for my birthday. The food and presentation is great. Most importantly, the hosts made us feel comfortable and welcome.

Checked this restaurant recently. The woman working was very nice (perhaps the owner?) and proud of their food. We selected the cold appetizer sampler, featuring four dips. Labneh was our favorite but all were good. We had the borek as well, that was fantastic. Really crisp "cigarettes" of oozing cheese. For entrees we had the pistachio lamb kabobs and the manti. (Lamb dumplings) I never had pistachios in a kabob before, cool addition. The dumplings were awesome, very tender with a delicious sauce. For dessert, we went with all three choices. Pistachio pudding was subtle and refreshing, kadayif was solid, and the baklava was great. Also, the Turkish tea was delicious. Very solid Turkish restaurant, in a neighborhood of very solid Turkish restaurants.

I love this place, small, family run, and authentic. Simple decor, tasty food, family feel service. the 2-3 people meal and other family options are extremely generous and incredibly tasty. Food fast is great, price is great as well.

The restaurant has an interesting history. Even though the original opened in Cresskill, NJ, it unfortunately has permanently closed. However, not only is the Edgewater location amazing, but it had the guts to open during COVID (2022), survived, and is succeeding. The restaurant is beautiful inside and outside. Their decorations are tasteful, the presentation of the food is award winning, and the service is stellar. I started with a Mocha Cappuccino and it was so good. Served in a large mug, an airy/creamy top, and had the perfect amount of mocha happiness throughout. Before the meal even started, we were graciously given Za'atar (a popular Middle Eastern spice blend with an earthy, tangy, and nutty flavor, toasted sesame seeds, and sumac, with salt). It was crunchy, drizzled with oil, and I enjoyed how each thin pita bite made the spices explode all over the table. The entrees were: Strawberry French Toast. The next was the Falafel Platter (chickpeas and fava bean balls, served with tahini sauce, pickles, turnips, tomato, and mint). The last selection was the Avocado Toast (Citrus cured salmon over multigrain bread, tomatoes, onions, capers & citrus vinaigrette). Not only were all of these dishes beautifully presented, but all were filling, as well. My Avocado Toast kept me full for the rest of the day and the salmon was enjoyably salty, thin, and delicious. I noticed a dessert in their display case and ordered it. The dessert was the Riz Bil Ashta (Lebanese rice cream, infused with orange blossom water, blended with milk and cheese, and topped with crushed pistachios). This dessert tasted like a regal custard and the pistachios added an enjoyable texture that makes it recommended. Of course, I had to cap the meal with a Mocchiato. This amazing beverage followed the rest of the meal..... delicious, eyes closed good, and every sip was full-flavored. Thank you, Madison Café and Grill, for presenting a memorable meal and I wish you continued success.

We were surprised by how lovely the space is since its tucked away in the middle of the block, at the garden level. It really is delightful. Dreamy hummus on the UWS? Yes, please!…read more I was on a long walk from Midtown when I realized I needed food immediately. I consulted Yelp Assistant for vegan options in the area, and up popped Miriam with a plethora of Mediterranean small plates and I was sold. Since it was a Friday evening, I knew I was taking a chance without a reservation and the place was pretty packed, but there was a small table on the patio available. Since it was a chilly night, the cover was up and I'm sure it's more atmospheric (to match the cute interior) in more agreeable weather, but no matter here because once I tasted that hummus and warm, fresh pita, I really could've been sitting on a curb for all I cared. There's a lot of good hummus to be had in this world, and Miriam's ranks as one of the best I've had. Service was perfection and their wines by the glass are wonderful. I was a bit bummed that I had to make it a quick visit, but I expect that if and when I'm back in this part of town, I will gladly return.

We ordered pretty much the same thing as the first time with the addition of the Cheese Borek to try out. It had a great balance of salty cheese flavor to the crispy phyllo dough. It went well with the Fattoush Salad (that came with the Mixed Platter). We were 3 people this time and the Mixed Platter for 2 was plenty of food along with all the appetizers we got. The Iced Mint Lemonade could have a bit more mint and less sugar but I found it sweet and refreshing. Their Hummus and Babaghanoush here are both excellent and pairs well with the warm pita they give you. Please do yourself a favor and check out El Jardin! When we arrived it was empty however by the time we finished, there were many tables filled. The bad thing is that there was only 1 server during brunch. We ordered for apps, the grand mezze dish with all of the different spreads, such as hummus, red pepper, tzatziki, eggplant, wow! It was delicious and to top it off they have homemade pita bread! Which was a huge highlight! Even my baby loved their homemade pita bread! For our mains, we ordered branzino, which was such a small sad piece, literally just half of a filet. Would never order again. We also got the mixed meats which came with kafta, lamb, chicken a few pieces of each, and also this was so sad, the pieces were SO small. And we also got this Fattat Jaj (which is a 6 layer dish with chicken, rice chickpeas). Honestly all of the mains were such a disappointment. Full of rice, not a lot of meat in any of the dishes. Especially the Fattat Jaj, which literally was just rice with a bunch of small crispy pita bread, barely had any chicken. While we really enjoyed the mezze platter, especially the homemade pita bread, all of the mains were SO small and terrible. Full of rice and salad and barely any meats (despite we ordered all meat and fish dishes). Sad portions. Would not return.
