March 27, 2026 - Went to get the late night meat carnival deal with a friend. The options were beef, fish, chicken and lamb. Overall, everything was really good, especially when dipped into the dipping sauce. My favorite was the lamb as it already came marinated with a specialty sauce.

visit for a weekday lunch and you'll be treated to an oasis of calm. Simply walk-in and you're seated. In no time you'll have a bowl of intricately made sauce (soy sauce, crushed garlic, cilantro, green onion, a touch of sesame oil, and mushroom chili sauce is my combo) and are ready to boil away. Additionally, their lunch combos are also a great deal. Starting at $39.90 for two people and up to $79.80 for four people, each person gets a choice of a protein (sliced beef, lamb or pork; marinated chicken or lamb; basa fish; or prawns), a grain (steamed rice, noodles, or iced tangyuan in rice wine), and a pre-selected platter of accompaniments. With dinner, every item is priced separately but the lunch combo includes a choice of two broths for the table (normally $5-$6 per base), access to the condiment and snack station (normally $3.99 per person), and even unlimited prune or passionfruit juice (typically sold by the pitcher). Not all the proteins are sized alike. Their sliced beef is sufficient two, but you'll likely want two orders for any more people. Yet, with eight shrimps their prawns should be enough for any sized table. I enjoy the individual platters, which contained items like quail eggs, imitation crab, enoki mushroom, napa cabbage, romaine lettuce, potato slices, yam vermicelli, skin of bean curd, konjac noodle bundles, fish ball with crab roe, and an egg bundle. Keep in mind that each person gets one of the pictured platters so it's A LOT of food. You'll leave stuffed or with takeout.

Located inside the Sandhurst plaza this place has an entrance from outside and you can see inside the mall as well. The host takes you inside, lots of seats and booths available. They only hold the reservation for 10mins. We booked here because Markham didn't accept reservations. We dined during the evening so it was completely a la carte. We got lots of different food items, one green (lol). The beef's actually pretty good, not too bad. It's my first time for non-AYCE for hotpot. I've only done a la carte in Japan for shabu shabu. We also ordered drinks, my friends got beer which was warm beer sadly and they didn't have any flavours or even original soju, only green apple; i wanted yogurt or original. Service was top notch, they ask if you want soup prior to putting any food items inside the soup base. They also peeled shrimp, prepped noodle for you, and had entertainment at the middle with traditional mask changing Chinese dance. I would like to try their AYCE here late at night for sure.

Visited after a dentist appointment and to see what has changed in Woodside Square since I moved to somewhere else in the GTA The restaurant was quite popular and busy. At the time, they were doing a Jackson Wang Hot Pot Promo. Service is a mix of self serve and staff. Food, desserts and the sauces were fresh and delicious. The sauces and desserts were in self serve/buffet style areas so you can get many bowls and refills on around $4-5 for. The desserts were fruit slices, different jelly flavors, and bobble tea toppings. If you are getting some jello dessert, don't go heavy handed on the toppings by putting too much and/or many different kinds at once.

Got their 2 person lunch special for $40 which includes soup base- we got pork bone and sukiyaki, 2 dishes of meat - we got beef and lamb, noodles or rice - we got one of each, and unlimited veggies. The server took her time to explain to us the lunch options and came by frequently to scoop the floaties from our broth and make sure everything was ok. They have an unlimited sauce bar which included dessert and fruit. The beef portion was larger than the lamb, and the best part was the unlimited veggie bar which also included fish balls, tofu, mushrooms, and noodles, in addition to the large variety of leafy greens. Someone also came by with a game where you can get free dessert and if dont win you get a small bag of popcorn. Overall, a great experience.

This is a shabu hotpot place with excellent meat and wonderful soup. I highly recommend taking the sauce station add on for $4 that really brings out all the flavours. We went in on a day when they were insanely busy. Since they made us wait despite reservation, they gave us free ice tea. We also got a free dessert. Now to the food. Just phenomenal if you like the concept of cooking meat. You can get different kinds of meat and up to four kinds of soup. Add the sauce station and you are going to be full for 12 hours. I like the ambience too. And the service was par excellence. I highly recommend the in person experience.

Came here to try their lunch special. It's an amazing deal. For $20 you get unlimited vegetables and sauce access, plus one main. For the mains we chose shrimp and lamb. Hotpot is inherently so fun to have with others. We thoroughly enjoyed it and I also like that it's a relatively healthy meal as you can eat a lot of vegetables and tofu. The melon is also delicious and sweet. I do wish that they removed the black intestine line from the shrimp (they said they would) and the others wish the lamb cuts weren't so fatty but it's hard to complain considering everything else. We also got the fried mantou which was a nice end. Service was very warm and friendly. I'll definitely be back!

Location has lots of seating. Came for the late night special. One of the better dessert bar locations and always kept stocked along with the sauce and side bar.

First time here and it felt like luxury hot pot. We ate a lot and got full, but it felt cleaner and more fresh than all you can eat places. The dessert bar was just different types of popping boba, jelly and pearls. It was amazing for a BBT person.. felt like heaven LOL. The sauce station was clean and had a lot of great variety. They had little robots bringing food to our table which was really fun. Make sure to ask for the soup appetizer if you're getting the tomato base and ask for aprons!

    Love their quadruple pot design!

First time visited Haidilao after hearing so many times about their great service and how their staff even perform dances at individual dining tables. Really like their quadruple soup base feature - unlike other hotpot places where you can only choose up to two soup bases, the pots here are separated into four spaces, so you can try four different broths while still having enough room to cook in each section. Their sauce bar has many varieties, plus they offer unlimited fruits which is a nice bonus. The meat was fresh and tender, very tasty. They even have a bubble tea bar where you can add all kinds of toppings - pretty cool! Even though it's not an AYCE, their price was very reasonable. You can get very full for around $80. Overall, now I understand why people speak so highly about this place. Both quality and service are really good. If you crave for hotpot this is definitely a highly recommended place. Food (quality, creativity, consistency) - 5/5 Drinks (quality, variety) - NA/5 Ambience (interior design, cleanliness) - 5/5 Service (courtesy, knowledge, timeliness) - 5/5 Value (quality vs. price) - 5/5 OVERALL - 5

I had an amazing dinner with my family at the Scarborough Haidilao location. Before I arrived I joined the waitlist, and by the time I arrived 20 minutes later, I was off the waitlist and able to check-in with the waitstaff for my table. My party was seated in about 5 minutes from that time. We ordered 3 proteins and the assorted vegetable platter, along with the pork bone soup base. It did not seem like a lot of food when ordering, but by the end of the meal we were stuffed and very satisfied! The restaurant itself has 3 different soup/appetizer/desert stations that you can take from, which costs an additional 3.99 per person. Although I think it was definitely worth it, I do think the fact that they charge for this access could have been made clearer by the menu/staff. When presented with the bill, the waitstaff also offers you the choice between a complimentary milk bar or a complimentary ice cream (vanilla/chocolate/strawberry). You may have heard that haidilao waiters will bring you certain little goodies if you tell them certain phrases, and I can definitely confirm that! We asked our waiter about it and they told us that we could use one code per table. We used the 'golden bricks' code and were given a fried mantou dish with condensed milk!

So many pleasant surprises throughout our dinner! I finally visited on a Thursday evening to try their before 5pm combo promo. With this special, for 2 people you get 2 soup bases, 2 protein dishes of choice, combo platters consisting of assorted veggies, noodles, and other hotpot staples, plum or passion fruit juice, and their self-serve sauce station. At first, it didn't seem like a whole lot of food when ordering from their iPad. But once it reached the end of our meal, we were definitely full and glad we didn't order anything extra. I can really see the renowned hospitality they're known for, as service was super attentive and they came by often to check up on us and offer us different complementary items (they made us tomato soup which was so yummy, gave me a hair tie, free cake for my birthday, ice cream at the end, and a gift bag). The only feedback I have is that they could have been better with their time management. Despite the amazing service, they came by abruptly at one point to ask if we wanted ice cream and to let us know the reservation after us had already been waiting for 20 minutes. I feel this is something they could have informed us of well in advance, and even offered us dessert closer to the next reservation time to give us the hint. I felt bad after this and slightly anxious as we tried to wrap up our meal as fast as we could. Overall, their service and hospitality is unmatched. I felt the food in general was fine, but nothing I've never experienced before. I did appreciate that the food and broth was not salty and didn't make me thirsty throughout.

Our tab. Expensive for 3 people! Great service, so big tip.

The posters outside caught my eye, and I decided to come back with a group of three friends to try it out. We came a bit late around 8 PM, and most of the fish were already sold out except the original. We ended up ordering the Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($40), a whole fish served bubbling hot with three toppings (potatoes, spam, and lotus root). You can choose between catfish and turbot, we chose the turbot fish. It looked extremely spicy, but the spice level was actually perfect. It was a bit on the oily side, but pairing it with rice balanced it out nicely. The fish was very tender and buttery, everything tasted amazing! We also ordered the Stir-Fried Egg with Tomato. The eggs were soft, the tomato sauce was rich. Not to mention the portion size was huge, we even had leftovers after eating until we were full. The restaurant itself was spacious, clean, and had plenty of seating. I think they were doing some sort of promotion so they gave us a $25 off coupon, though it expired pretty quickly so we didn't get to use it. I'd definitely come back for that grilled fish.

This is a new Chinese restaurant featuring Hunan and Szechuan cuisine. The spicy dishes emphasize…read morespiciness, not numbness. A few of their dishes come out on a sizzling plate with flames underneath. They are still in soft-opening mode with several specials. You can see the menus via a QR code. The Hunan cuisine is listed as "Hunan Noodles" and the Szechuan cuisine is listed as "Chopfire Menu". The Szechuan dishes are listed with 1 to 3 chilies representing the spiciness. If you can't handle spicy, then avoid eating the chili pieces and you might "survive". The restaurant decided to minimize their food offerings so that they can focus on refining their dishes in terms of quality and taste, including from customer feedback. We ordered the following: 1. Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish ($39.95). 2. Home Stir Fried Beef ($21.95). 3. Bullfrog with Baby Ginger ($19.95). 4. Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork ($15.95). 5. Drunk Oolong (charcoal roasted oolong tea base) x 2 ($5.95 x 2). 6. Lemon Taro Balls ($7.95). We also saw the following: 7. Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Green Pepper Noodle Soup ($9.99). First 10 customers each day, only pays $1.00. 8. Ink Painting Cocktail ($5.95). The Signature Spicy Grilled BBQ Fish came out on a huge sizzling platter. The BBQ Fish, a Turbot Fish, was very fresh and flaky, easily coming off the bone. There is no head attached like at typical Chinese restaurants but it would not have fit in the platter. The platter had a delicious sauce (soupy consistency and not sweet), luncheon meat slices, lotus root slices, and two other vegetables, along with chili pieces. The entire dish tasted great together with the various flavours. The menu listed it as 2-chili spicy but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Home Stir Fried Beef is tender. It is listed as 3-chili but I could handle it by avoiding the chili pieces. The Bullfrog with Baby Ginger has the bullfrog cut up in little pieces; no you don't see a whole frog! The meat was actually good but most pieces have bones in it, so it takes time to eat it carefully. There was ginger slices in it but it, but we thought the slices were quite large! The Stir-Fried Cauliflower with Preserved Pork was very delicious! It came in a sizzling plate. The Cauliflower was flavourful and was not crunchy and not too soft. I've never had preserved pork slices before; it was quite good, not as salty as Chinese preserved vegetables. The Drunk Oolong has comes in a small bowl a with gin and ice. On the side, they include pieces of the charcoal roasted oolong tea leaves so you can smell it; quite a good smell indeed. You can also order it without the gin, which is what I ordered for mine (since I don't drink alcohol). It was such a nice drink! The Lemon Taro Balls dessert was pretty. In the centre was a slice of lemon. The customer service was good. There is plenty of indoor table and counter seating, including a small private room at the back. There is also an outdoor patio during warmer weather. There is pop music playing in the background. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are two gender-neutral washrooms downstairs, so they are not wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2025-026

The signature apple wood roasted Peking duck was definitely a highlight, especially with the tableside carving, which made the whole experience feel even more polished and memorable. The skin had that beautiful lacquered finish, and the duck was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying.
