You place your order on a tablet and then as the food comes out you can check out their sauce bar which also had egg rolls, fruit, jelly dessert, and some other items! Ambiance is casual and relaxed. They gave us aprons to wear to protect our clothes which we appreciated and they even had a mini one for our baby who was in a booster seat on the booth! Love their tom yum, tomato, and house regular broth. We ordered a ton of meat and veggies. Of course we also got the dancing noodles which was both delicious and very fun to watch. Seated very quickly and got the lay of the land. Ordered on the iPad. It is not all you can eat so items can add up quickly. Items are usually delivered with the robot. The soup base came by a server. Staff is very nice and checks in occasionally without rushing. Pork stomach and chicken broth was very flavorful. This can double as a soup dish. Ordered wagyu which was buy one get one free. It's a good deal since a decent amount came. The Angus short rib wasn't bad either. Lobster isn't usually what I order at hotpot but added a touch. I love me a good hot pot. I can have it once a week. My sister who is not really Chinese (she's so ABC), recommended this place to meet up for lunch. I was shocked since she is not a fan of Shabu Shabu but she recently gave it a try and now she loves it. I'm like OMG, all those years of missing out. I have read a lot of amazing things about Haidiloa. There are 7 locations in L.A./SF and one in Flushing. I asked the waitress if she knows if one will be opening up in Jersey. She was sweet enough to take the time to ask her manager and inform me that yes, they are planning to in the next 2-3 years. Now that is incredible customer service. We went for the lunch combo $19.99. Seems like everyone else around us was going for this deal as well. You get a platter of veggies and one protein choice and rice or noodles. My sister chose the sliced fish and I got the pork belly slices. We also shared a few à la carte dishes...sliced Angus Beef, shrimp, corn, and tofu. I will say that these items were pricey and can add up. Ooh, make sure you leave a little room for the desserts at the bar. Lots to choose from. I was beyond excited for their drink menu. I got the Seven-Infused Jasmine Milk Tea. For all you Molly Tea fans, this one tasted just like one of their jasmine drinks. And it's only $4.95. Service is a solid 10/10. Waitress wore gloves to take the shell off the shrimps for us. She constantly came by to make sure everything was good. You will surely be well taken care of. We left a very generous tip. Overall it was an epic hot pot experience. I enjoy visiting Haidilao branches around the world and have been to a couple in the Bay Area and in Taipei. But Flushing, Queens? Man oh man this has become my favorite US-based Haidilao spot I have visited so far! Open til 4am???? In a city that never sleeps, that checks out! Chose 2 soup bases: sukiyaki and pork bone I was very eager to try out the $20 Meat O'clock AYCE offering after 9pm! Turns out it's only 5 meat options: 1. Premium fatty Beef slices 2. Fiery pickled pepper chicken 3. Beef tripe 4. Handmade shrimp paste 5. Imitation crab sticks. Not the sexiest options. My favorite is the beef. Also got fresh duck blood (boil for 5 minutes), tofu skin fortune pouches stuffed with roe, and winter special dessert of warm snow mochi cakes stuffed with pumpkin. The waiter accidentally took it to the table across from me, and the couple sitting at that table were just as confused as I was, and realized it was for me, and told me that they had heard me ordering the dessert. I've dined at HaiDiLao twice after the pandemic, but my latest visit was for their new promotion - Meat o'clock. Meat o'clock features unlimited meat for 90 mins after 9pm Sunday - Thursdays. I made a reservation for 5 and mentioned a birthday celebration. We were presented cute signs and a capybara display for a photo opp at our table. There were 5 types of meat offered during Meat o' clock: fatty beef, shrimp paste, spicy marinated chicken, imitation crab sticks, and beef tripe. We ordered several rounds of each meat option but generally stick to the fatty beef and shrimp for taste and value. We chose 4 different broths: mushroom, tom yum, pork bone, and spicy beef tallow. Each of them were good in their own way. We really enjoyed the deep mushroom and the tangy tom yum broths. The spicy beef tallow was very spicy and definitely hit the spot. One thing to note about HaiDiLao is that not only do you have to pay for the broths (about $30) for a full pot, there's also an additional $4 per person to use the sauce bar. The sauce bar also comes with access to spicy pig ears, pickled kelp, fruit, and dessert. Overall, the food at HaiDiLao is definitely great quality but the AYCE aspect of it made it less enjoyable. Our dinner finally ended close to midnight and we were too stuffed to sleep. I would recommend HaiDiLao but eating so late is definitely not ideal for a weeknight. read more

This is an exemplary hot pot spot - the broth, the service, the food everything was really perfect. We got 4 different broths - the mushroom was favorite. Damn it was so flavorful it was almost like a gravy. The Tom Yum was another hit, but unfortunately it gets diluted a bit when they add broth. The pork bone broth had a huge pork bone in it. The Sichuan spicy might have been too spicy - it had a lot of oil in it. You can happily have a meal here without the sauce bar and still get plenty of flavor. The sauce bar has everything you could possible want - they even have ice jelly with solid accompaniments and soft serve ice cream. The Meat O'Clock special after 9pm on certain nights is worth it, currently $20/pp for unlimited choices of limited dishes. Make sure you come with big eaters to make it worth it. Haidilao gets high stars and its all well deserved - I am looking forward to coming back soon! read more

Located upstairs, there is an elevator if need be. The waiting areas are decently sized with games to entertain and refreshments while you wait. Inside, there is a lot of tables/seating, though the walkways are a bit tight when packed. The bathrooms are well stocked with amenities to freshen up. We had a reservation late night for Meat O Clock (Sunday-Thursday, after 9:00 P.M.). We were early for our reservation, but got seated quickly. We were here to celebrate a birthday, and they had an adorable birthday display set up at our table. The service is fantastic. They're informative, attentive, and friendly. Another table got an order of the dancing noodles, and it was cool to see the talent of the staff. We got aprons to prevent accidental splatters and spills. The sauce bar is extensive, which I like, especially since it's an additional cost per person. I do find that the broths are flavorful enough to forgo the sauces. We wanted to try a variety of broths, so we went with the 4 choice: -Sichuan Spicy: can really taste the mala, and if you're not careful, you get hit with that oil! Was a bit too much for me. -Pork Bone: added extra meatiness to the meat. It comes with the bone in it. It also has some tomato in it. -Mushroom: my favorite broth to get at hot pot. This is the best one I've had! It's got so much flavor and you can really taste it in whatever is cooked in there. I took this home (yes, you can ask for containers to take your broths and dishes minus AYCE home... you paid for it after all!) -Tom Yum: great spicy and zesty broth. It did get a little watered down with additional broth, so I would suggest not refilling the broth. The dishes came out quick! They come out on a cat robot, and although it does seem to get lost/stuck often, the staff is quick to rescue it. You can definitely get your AYCE going on. Meat O Clock Options (which seem to vary so check ): -Premium Fatty Beef: consistent good quality and cuts -Imitation Crab Sticks: typical imitation crab sticks -Beef Tripe: good texture and size for cooking! -Handmade Shrimp Paste: has some actual texture to it compared to other places. The addition of roe is interesting. -Fiery Pickled Pepper Chicken: tender and spicy! we did cook these in the spicy broths to maintain the spiciness and not add spiciness to the non spicy broths We also ordered a bunch of veggies and mushrooms (crown daisy, watercress, enoki, napa cabbage, tofu skin, bok choy, winter melon, etc.), all of which were fresh and tasty. I like the option to order half portions for the veggies that not everyone wants to eat or if you're dining solo. They also have ice cream (vanilla and matcha), and ingredients for ice jelly! FYI, I'm not a fan of hot pot, so that's the highest I've ever given. We've never been to Haidilao before cuz the decor reminds me of an old cafeteria. We were watching YouTube and they made it seem like we had to try it, it's been on my list since it opened. There was a lot of stairs but there is an elevator, if you need it. There were two rooms full of people waiting. As soon as we got to the second waiting room, a lady asked us if we were on the waiting list and handed us orange drinks. It tasted like Tang which I haven't had since I was a child. Even though it was crowded, the line went faster than we anticipated...but make reservations! It mentioned free beverages, snacks and services. There were just a few games to entertain people in the main waiting room. There's mints, cheese balls, pretzels and popcorn..bags of crackers? Eh. Didn't bother.. After we were seated, we headed to the sauce station to look around and made some sauces but I ended up not using any since I didn't want to increase my sodium intake. We chose curry and pork bone broths. The broths were tasty; L added chilies, scallions, and garlic to his bone broth. It had a good amount of veggies in both broths. My broth had a ton of flavor. Sauce wasn't necessary. Haidilao can get expensive; you can easily do this at home with similar ingredients or go to cheaper places but it was still a fun experience. L had to "cook". That's a first... We ordered 2 kinds of meat, veggies, noodles, watermelon juice... it was about $160. Service was great. Our waiter was very helpful. He bought us bowls, etc... when we didn't know what to do. He had several tables with big parties but he was still very willing to help with anything we needed so service was excellent. Even brought us cones when he saw that we put ice cream in bowls but I'd stick with the bowls. It was incredibly packed even on a Tuesday. Lots of young people... I kept seeing people going to get bowls of desserts, bubbles, lychee..etc A week later L wanted to eat there again so I made a reservation. We got a table quickly; the rooms were full of people on a Monday night. I like that Hailidao has a very mixed crowd. My server was so nice.. He gave us lens wipes, hair tie for me, aprons, put our coats in the bags ..the other server didn't do that but our section had smaller parties. He poured water for us even when he saw L holding the pitcher. We never got served by the cat robot on either visits since our servers always brought food to us. We spent even more on our second visit ...closer to $200 since I was trying out their cocktails. Lychee martini... it tasted strong.. but it's just a basic drink, I don't think it was fresh Lychee. I also had a Long Island Iced Tea and it brought back so many memories. Tasted horrible.. but that's how it's supposed to taste. Maybe more soda flavor than the usual. I don't really get drunk so L said both were strong. So not great "tasting" drinks but it's not like they have mixologists or a bar.... But I'm still glad they serve some type of alcohol. Also we ordered 2 shrimp pastes. It was pretty good and less work than dealing with shrimp shells. Next time, I'd avoid getting tofu and just stick with veggies and noodles. The bathrooms are really clean for the number of customers they have.. Toto toilets.. better quality toilet paper than $$$ restaurants in the city.. mouthwash, lotion, hair dryer, etc...if you need it. We did get to see some dancing which was interesting. I can see why this place is popular.. the kids get entertained and there's snacks for them. They play old school music when it's not holiday stuff...it's not crazy loud, it's fun especially if you're slightly inebriated. The staff are very nice. They're overwhelmed but everyone I've dealt with has been very friendly and helpful. I've never liked hot pot before but Hailidao is slowly making me enjoying cookin my own food at restaurants as if I don't do it enough at home. 3rd visit in 2 weeks...L loves this place. We went for lunch..and they do have a great lunch combo. So for about $40 for 2. You can choose from some of the broths, some of the proteins, and a platter of cabbage, bok Choy, spam, tofu, imitation crab, fish cake, etc.. and ramen or rice. It's a good amount of food. Our party of 12 (10 adults and 2 children) visited Haidilao Hot Pot for a birthday celebration, and this was our first time dining here. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and well organized. We really enjoyed the sauce, snack, and dessert bars. The lunch special was an excellent value at $20 per person and included a soup base, one protein (beef, pork, or fish), vegetables, and noodles or rice. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly. We did run into an issue with the kids' meals. Since kids eat free, and based on other reviews as well as phone calls beforehand, we expected chicken nuggets to be available at the appetizer bar. Unfortunately, none were available that day. We were told multiple times by David and other staff that the chicken nuggets were being prepared, but after waiting over an hour, the kids' meals arrived with fruit, a small drink, and mini buns (which resembled nuggets) with ketchup. By that point, the kids were hungry and disappointed, as these were not chicken nuggets. When we asked again, we were finally informed that the nuggets had sold out. The staff did provide four manually deboned chicken wings, which we appreciated, but clearer communication from the beginning would have helped manage expectations. Aside from that, the adults really enjoyed the food. The tomato broth was especially delicious, and the meats and fish were tender and fresh. I also liked the pig ears appetizer, and the shrimp paste and fish balls we added were tasty. The desserts were good as well, especially the matcha and vanilla ice cream. This is a la carte hot pot and you can expect better quality ingredients and broth which they absolutely delivered! The service here is excellent! My family came here on a weekday dinner just after 5:00 pm and there was no wait. You can make reservations or put yourself on a waitlist before you get there. This restaurant was a lot bigger than I expected - there is a dining room in the front of the restaurant and a bigger dining area in the back. Upon seating, we were handed an iPad to order hot pot broths, ingredients, and drinks. My little one was offered a complementary kid's meal which comes with fruit, chicken nuggets, and a drink, which was perfect for her. There are sauce and snack stations that everyone is able to go and get what you need. There is also bing fan (iced jelly) dessert stations that you can mix and match ingredients - this happened to our favorite part of the experience! I loved that both the sauce and dessert station have some suggested mix options as a guide for first timers. I visited the Haidilao restaurant in Flushing today for lunch with a friend. We arrived around 11:15 a.m., a bit before the 11:30AM opening time. There were plenty of seats right in front of the restaurant, along with drinks and snacks at the minibar available for guests to enjoy while waiting. While we were waiting, one of the front staff members (I didn't get her name) was incredibly kind and brought us warm tea, which was perfect for the mildly chilly weather. You can also make a reservation online on their website or join their waitlist in person too. We were assigned to Tracy who greeted us right away, guided us to our table, and brought us water and some appetizers (chips and chicken nuggets) while introducing the menu. Shoutout to Tracy, her service was exceptional as she was kind, very attentive, and regularly checked in to see if we needed anything. She brought us hair ties, provided bags to store our coats so they wouldn't smell like hot pot afterward, offered lens wipes, and refilled our water and soup base, as well as changed our plates without us even asking. They also offer a great weekday lunch special for two, which is an excellent deal. It includes two choices of soup bases, two choices of either basa fish, beef, or pork, an assorted platter of hot pot fish balls and vegetables, and a side of rice or instant noodles. Finally got to try Haidilao for the first time. The place was full, but we got seated right away on a Saturday afternoon. It was a whole experience. They had staff doing noodles dances, birthday songs, and making animal balloons all around us. Also, they have these secret codes so make sure to research all the secret codes beforehand! You can order the dancing noodles as is or ask for someone to do a dancing noodle performance at your table to stretch the noodle right in front of you. It doesn't cost extra for the dance. Unfortunately, he was so busy dancing for other tables, we were almost done with our meal so we ended up just getting the noodles without the dance. The noodles were actually so good though. With so many different hot pot establishments out there, I feel that this place is not that special for the price. We were there for a celebration and was impressed with the table setting when we were shown our table. We were excited for a special experience. This is NOT an AYCE place so with the exception of some dessert and appetizers, everything is a la carte. Appetizers were snack packages of crackers, popcorn and peanuts. There were also egg rolls and shrimp chips. You can help yourself to sauces. Desserts were orange slices, honey dew melon slices, tofu pudding, jelly, red beans, crushed peanuts, and some type of dried berry and raisins. Lastly, there's ice cream with only chocolate or vanilla flavor choices. You order via a tablet and your bill is the sum of what you order in addition to the set base fee per person. You can have rice but there's a charge of $1.99 per person. Nothing out of the ordinary to order. The slice of cheesecake and waiters coming over to clap while a song was being played was lame (only 2 waiters). We saw other tables with 5 wait staff clapping at other tables with less people. So I guess they spare whoever is around at the time you get your cake. Service was good but not exceptional based on the cost and hype. Left barely full. Glad I tried it but won't be coming back. We thought we might need two tables with such a large group, but everyone was able to fit into one square table, and even be able to hear each other talk! For the adults, we ordered a bunch of items including fatty beef, razor clams, various meat/fish balls, udon, shrimp, kabocha, just to name a few items. My favorite was probably the beef tongue, and the smashed shrimp paste. Love a good freshly-made paste for hot pot. We went with two different broths, but you can pick as many as four. Everything seemed like your standard hot pot items. They did seem to have a few more sauces that other hot pot places, and they have a few cooked items - like spring rolls. What an amazing experience!! It's a must visit. The hotpot base and food is so delicious. The service is exceptional. The dancing noodles performance was so entertaining. This shouldn't be missed. Make sure to add the noodles to your order. It comes with a performance. I heard there's a face changing mask performance, but I didn't catch it. There's also a robot that holds the foods and brings it to the tables. You can see it go around everywhere. It's all quite entertaining if you haven't seen it before. The service is stellar A+++. Our server Viktor was absolutely awesome and attentive. He was very helpful and constantly filling up our water, hot water for the tea, and soup bases. There is a pitcher of water with a lemon in it on the side of table, which is very convenient. He also checked on us a few times during the meal to see if we needed anything. Service was on-point. It's a very big space with lots of seatings. It's best to make a reservation. I went on a weekday lunch for the combo set lunch special. What a deal for around $20 per combo set. You pick: a soup base or just water, 1 protein (beef, pork belly, lamb shoulder or basa fish), and 1 carb (ramen or rice). It comes with a little bit of a bunch of different veggies including bok choy, cabbage, beech mushroom, tofu, fried tofu skin, dried tofu skin, slices of potatoes, spam, imitation crab meat. This is the perfect combo mix of protein and vegetables. The hotpot fits up to 4 soup bases or water, so 2 or more people can get different soup bases. We got the pork bone soup and the tomato soup. I liked both, but prefer the pork bone one the best. Yummy yum. They have a great sauce station, which is also the dessert and snacks station. You can mix any amount of seafood soy sauce, minced garlic, chopped scallions, fried garlic seasoning and sesame seed seasoning for your sauce. For dessert, you can have your picks of ice cream from the station, fruits including watermelon slices, purple rice soup, and brown sugar glass jelly. The combo meal itself is not a buffet, so you can pack it to go if you can't finish it all. Their self serve station has chicken nuggets, bean sprouts, small packages snacks and desserts, which you can go back for refills. This was included in the weekday lunch combo, but is an added option for regular meals. Still worth it. Definitely telling everyone about it. Can't wait for my next visit! read more

I visited Haidilao on Mother's Day with my daughter for her birthday, After we finished our meal, we had to wait 50 minutes for the birthday cake. It was frustrating, especially since it was supposed to be a celebration. Also, every table around us received flowers for Mother's Day, except ours. Wow, even on the weekdays Haidilao is extremely busy. Came around 11PM on a weeknight and the wait was still 45+ minutes. Overall, would say their hotpot is decent but quite expensive for what you get. $8.99 for a small bowl of veggies is a little hard to justify. However, their meats did seem higher quality than other hotpot spots. They also provide delicious chicken nuggets, shrimp chips and icecream for free which is a plus. Service was great too - they were attentive with keeping our broth levels high & replacing plates. Would definitely recommend at least trying once especially if you're in the area. read more

Food: This was my first time at Haidilao after hearing great things about it for years, and I loved it. The food is delicious and good quality. The broths are average and nothing special. There is a sauce bar with a lot of appetizers and fruits. There's also a hot appetizer bar with chicken nuggets, spring rolls, and other items. The chicken nuggets are surprisingly good. They also offer soft serve at the end of the meal. They offer a wide variety of hot pot items as well as some unique items including durian pancakes (highly recommend if you like durian). The food was overall delicious, and I look forward to coming back here again! Service: Our server was phenomenal. She was so friendly and attentive. She constantly came by to clear our empty dishes and also asked us if we needed anything. She knew we were celebrating a birthday and arranged for a slice of cake and singing from the staff. The restaurant also gives you a small gift (head scratcher/massager) for birthdays. The experience was very lovely and nice. Ambiance: The restaurant is huge with a lot of seating. They have both tables for smaller and larger groups. Seating is comfortable and spacious. The place is kept clean as well. When you enter the building, you have to take the elevator or stairs to the second floor. There are two large waiting areas with couches, snacks, gift bags, and drinks. There is a vanity with wigs and other props for fun while you're waiting. There is also a photo booth and an arcade game. They put a lot of thought into making you feel comfortable and entertained while waiting for a table. The waiting areas are very spacious and nicely decorated. Service here is phenomenal as rumored. Staff is very attentive and accommodating (hair ties, eyeglass wipes, etc.). We even got a birthday dance for our friend. We ordered a variety of veggies and meat (the short rib was really good). There is a self service dessert/snack bar which is really nice. The inside is clean and bright. Well run establishment, easy to make a reservation, we were a party of 10 (8 adults, 2 toddlers), celebrating a birthday and Karson our waiter was top notch (best waiter compared to any establishment in any country), attentive, gracious and kind! He checked in multiple times and was handling all the tables in our section including another birthday (large party) and he was balancing everything with a smile and grace. Food tasted fresh. Liked the dessert jelly bar. It was everyone's first time and we enjoyed the noodle dance, and the noodles were bouncy! Kid friendly and we didn't feel rushed. My first time at this hot pot place. It's in the busy part of Flushing right off of Main Street. Theres a parking garage below which is very convenient. You have to come up to street level and then the restaurant is on the 2nd floor. It was pretty busy when we were there but it was a weekend and I was with a large group. The actual hotpot had four spots so you have the option of choosing 4 different broths which worked out for our group. You order per item after that. They had a lot of options as well, meats, veggies etc. They also had a sauce bar with some cold some appetizers The waiting area was nice though. I love this place! I have been here 3 times and always love the food and the entertainment. I recommend going when they have the face changing performance during the peak hours. But it is also nice to go when there are less people at night. We had no wait on a summer night at 9pm. You must order the dancing noodles! Super entertaining and very skilled performers will stretch the noodles out and sling them at you. And the noodles are pretty tasty too. All the food is amazing. The flavor is so good. I recommend the shrimp paste! Along with the typical meats for hot pot. All in all, I love going here and will keep coming to Haidilao! read more

The absolute definition of amazing quality food, set up, and service!! Granted it definitely one of the pricier hot pots with each dish to order veggies around $5 and meats from $10 for a half and $20 portion and $30 for pricier cuts. My favorite was definitely the boneless short rib, beef slices, and premium Wagyu. The enoki mushrooms were also great! I really liked the mushroom broth and then the pork bone broth. They made everything so delicious and flavorful. The meats were so quick to cook perfectly too. The water broths I was unsure of what to add so the server kindly helped us but I definitely do enjoy their premade broths more. I came for the lunch classic combo which I thought was really worth it! They also include a seasoning bar with snacks like crispy crusts and fruits like strawberries and desserts with konjac jelly/crystal boba. They limit one secret code per table so we got the golden bricks and was sooo delicious! Free ice cream cones for everyone too. Ultimate perfect meal. Attached receipt shown, came under the giveaway and they provided excellent service and accommodation throughout the meal and even afterwards ensuring we left with the giveaway spring festival box-amazing! came on a weeknight after the Mets game around 10:30PM for the $19.99 Meat O'Clock special. Large space and was still packed at the time. The restaurant is walkable from the 7 Line Main St but a bit difficult to find and is located on the 2nd fl. The $19.99 special is quite a deal if you are hungry and just want the 5 proteins and nothing else. You do need to pay separately for your soup base (~$13 for half pot and $7 for qtr pot) although of course you can just use hot water as your base and create your own sauce. There is also a separate $3 charge for unlimited chicken nuggets, the sauce bar and limited salad bar which you have to do. The quality of the proteins is high especially the beef, lamb and basa fish. Shrimps are ok fresh. The chicken is meh but generally doesn't do well in hot pot. FYI The dancing noodle performances end around 10PM. Customer service is solid and space is clean. There was a budweiser special for $1.5 per can. Unlimited soft serve. Not great quality though Would come back for the Meat O'clock. Restaurant closes very late. Young crowd. read more
