I feel like you can't beat the price here. It's just hotpot. How wrong can you go? You're just putting raw ingredients into a boiling soup. My favorite base is turning out to be tomato- I would never have thought. It's simple and delicious and so good even alone. I like drinking some of it before I start the process. Honestly, I personally just go for the veggies. Give me cabbage, spinach, mushroom, bak choy and tofu, I'm a happy girl with my extravagant sauce and beef/lamb combo. OoOo and a side of reasonably priced hot sake. I don't even have anything else I want in the spread. No seafood. Occasionally noodles but that fills me up much faster. You can add yourself to the Yelp waitlist kiosk check in right by the front, and there's space to wait inside while you wait for a text. Once they call your name/text they ask you which AYCE you like, and then seat you and you can pick your soup base(s), and protein. Everything else is self serve! Including all the veggies and other proteins, and sauces and drinks and hot apps. The dumplings are VERY good, very crispy. They give you a bib upon request which I really needed - amateur move of mine of wearing all white to hot pot. They also re-up you on protein very quickly. This was my first time trying happy lamb at this location. This location is much bigger than the one in Chinatown. They have more buffet options for you to choose from. I enjoyed the lo mein noodles, the fried rice and the chicken wings. They also had fresh white rice that was excellent to pair with our hot pot meats. Along with edamame, a multitude of sauces and soy sauce. This location was all you can eat for real. The broth was consistent in taste it was good. They have so many drink options and dessert options. I can't wait to go back. My favorite was the lo mein noodles. That was my first time ever trying them. They were delicious! This review is for weekend dinner. Overall this is a solid option for hot pot. I came here on a whim because the spot I originally wanted to go to had a 3+ hour wait. I walked in with a party of 6 around 6:20pm on a Saturday and was seated immediately. However by 8pm there was quite a long line of people waiting for tables. I'd recommend getting here before 7pm to avoid a wait. This is AYCE. You can pay extra to order from the "VIP menu" - I recommend because you get wagyu, fish ball roe, among other things. You get the table for 90 tables and it actually is plenty of time. Aside from the VIP menu, all other toppings are self serve. They have a good selection of veggies, meatballs, noodles and they have a sauce bar. Soup bowls are for the table, not individual, but you can split and do half and half. Amazed by this place! I knew of this hotpot place as it's been opened for a while now but did not try till now since there's so many hotpot places in downtown flushing. They have diff sets of AYCE, from $21.99 weekdays for vegetables, sidebar and drinks, to $25.99 weekdays to include meat. These are their discounted promotion prices, which is a great price already. There's an additional promotion of $20.99 for those ages 55+ (bring your id). They had a variety of meat selection, but was blown away by how much variety the side bar/vegetables had. They had a range of fishballs (beef ones always the best!), tripe, tofu, fish, noodles, mushrooms, a good amount of varied greens, some fried food, and a little desserts. We went in on a weekday at 12:45pm and were seated quickly. Service was also quick as you only order meats and alcoholic drinks through them. It seemed like everyone spoke mandarin, but unsure since I didn't try English there at the time. Place is also very clean and new considering it's been opened for a while now. It's super spacious with numerous tables of ~4ppl a table. Note that you can set the level of heat of the hotpot at the side of the table towards the hall. All the vegetables and meat cuts were great except what I'm assuming to be beef. I know there are fatty beef but this one was like 80-90% fat, in which the English menu doesn't list it to be fatty beef as well. Their desserts also seem to be lacking. Two of us had hotpot on Sunday. We are regular customers. We used to go once a week, but this time I had already given a cash tip of $13 and this guy took another $13 from my credit card. After that, I called the restaurant and told the manager that they had charged me an extra $13 and that they should refund my money. My main sauce is chillis, garlic, cilantro and they had that so I was fine. Don't get me wrong, they have vinegar and other sauces but could've had more options. No fish sauce. I wasn't really attended to much. I was checked on about one time but the servers were pleasant. One gave me my bill before I asked for it, that was strange. That's what took it down to 4 stars. Worst customer service. First the guy staff told us to wait and he's going to look for a table then the girl staff put up the iPad and the guy totally ignored us and I had to ask him again and he's said I have to put down my name on the waitlist. And eventually they gave us a table because we were going to leave but it was a table for 4 they just removed one seat... with a toddler I would've preferred a booth because it's easier to manage them in a enclosed space than a regular chair. We had the premium bbq with the meat but the meat wasn't that fresh as there was browning on the edges. There is a good selection of veggie, noodles and raw food in the back. The hot food was mediocre. They had fried rice, onion rings, garlic bread and fried dough. They had grapes and cantaloupe as well. We didn't try the dessert at all. They offer 3 different AYCE options and we did the house special at 27.99/person. Love how the tables are set up, clean and sleek design. They also put up partitions when sharing the larger tables. Our table of 5 had 2 pots and we were able to cook our food easily. The spicy soup base was really spicy but so tasty. You order your meat options with the waiter and they bring it. Choices were plentiful and waiters were quick to bring refills. You can pick you own veggies and fish balls that is laid out in the back of the restaurant. When it gets cold outside, it's Hot Pot time! Wasn't this called Little Sheep or was that the one on Main St? Anyway, Happy Lamb makes me a happy camper! Their pricing though is a little confusing because they have different levels of food (meat) grade levels and they have discounts and specials for different days of the week in trying to attract more business on off days. Of course, it's also never crowded during the week. We usually go for the $32.95 House Special All-You-Can-Eat option and it's discounted to $26.95 on weekdays. You can pay a little extra for the premium meats, but the regular selection is just fine with us. My wife works down the street a couple of days and I'm happy to grab dinner here. If I get to Flushing at 6:30pm, it's just $0.75 to park for another 30 minutes on Northern Blvd and it's free after 7pm. Hot Pot is a communal thing that I've missed since Covid. The 2-4 seat booths have a single induction pad and the 6-8 persons have 2 for your pot. The power controller is at the end of the table below the edge. Order your favorite type of broth and there are hybrid spicy/non-spicy choices with a partitioned pot if people at the table have different tastes. The thinly sliced meats are also AYCE with the mid-level and your opening order of those with your broth as well. Then it's off to the vegetable, mushroom, seafood, noodles and fish/meat balls bar to get some staple hot pot items. They even have these faux reconstituted fish molded into the shape of lobster claw meat! There are also some cooked food like spring rolls, dumplings, tea eggs and sometimes even onion rings & french fries for the kids but try not to fill up on those. I also see from pictures that they roll out some unique foods on the weekends. Get your own drinks from the fountain soda dispenser and make your secret dipping sauce mix from the sauce bar and you are ready to cook & eat. We order a variety of meats: beef, lamb, chicken & pork. They are frozen and sliced to just barely a millimeter thick in order to cook fast in the boiling broth. My wife doesn't like the gamey flavor of lamb, so she makes us cook on the opposite side of the pot. The broth imparts some flavor but I use my dipping sauce on just about everything. Most of the food you know is ready to eat when it floats to the top like the fish balls and mushrooms, but you have to go fishing in the depths for meat, vegetables and noodles. The more food you cook, the more flavor goes into the broth and the staff will come to refill your pot as it evaporates, concentrating the flavor. By the end of the meal, the soup has some serious flavor and I'll ladle some out to taste. If you have room for dessert, there are a few items, but I'll usually go for a few more fish balls or maybe a corn on the cob. read more
