My comment was removed. So maybe I should be a little more specific. There is a broker here working by the name of Sarah Kardos. I am leaving a comment in regards to the fraudulent broker, Sarah Kardos, who cannot be trusted. She is actively renting properties from this management company online. She is a scam and has worked hand-in-hand with criminal landlords including one by the name of Lawrence Berlianshik of "14 Arrested In Construction Fraud Schemes In Brooklyn:" http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2017/10/25/construction-fraud-schemes/. A slumlord in my building, who has endangered the lives of tenants in illegal buildings and who has a "discontent of the laws that protect" public safety as per the Department of Investigations. I am shocked that she is still renting properties illegally and has not had her license taken away. This management company is the same as a management company Bway Apartments, LLC, because they operate from the same offices, and are one of many shadow companies that change their business names in order to mask their criminal activities. In an email from Sarah Kardos (sarahkardos@me.com): "The certified check for the remainder of the security deposit should be made payable to: Bway Apartments, LLC. My office address is 1271 Myrtle Ave. @ Hart St. right off the Central Ave. M." RED FLAG when the landlords she represents asks for more information on you then necessary, when the property is listed over the market price, when herself and her clients say there is "no fee" yet demand three payments, when filling out paperwork is met with intimidation and urgency, when Sarah behaves in a way that a friend would, but not a professional broker, then ghosts when you move into a property in conditions that you were not promised. We are currently dealing with identity fraud due to a breach of our Social Security numbers and information, from a landlord that Sarah Kardos rented a property to us from. Oh wait, Hagstrom Management a/K/a Bway Apartments, LLC a/K/a Kings Buildings Management, LLC. Run! 5 stars, hand down. I've been looking to rent a room for the past 3 months and have had no luck and several unpleasant experiences. Working with Hagstrom was a breeze! Anthony, my realtor, was extremely helpful in all aspects. He made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process and was very patient with me. He went out of his way to show me several units in an attempt to find something that best suits me. He was knowledgeable about the neighborhoods, nearby public transportation, etc. and did his best to answer all of my questions/concerns. Not to mention, aside from being so professional he was so personable and had a great character. Working with Anthony put me at ease throughout the entire process and I couldn't be more grateful for all of his help. Already recommended 2 other friends to him. Everything pertaining to my application and paperwork was done in a timely fashion as promised. The office manager was so sweet and friendly. She was very informative and made sure she went over all minor details with me up front. My experience with Hagstrom was literally the best I've ever had. Their team is truly one of a kind and they have such a vast selection of quality rentals. I will gladly continue to refer people to them, especially Anthony, and will continue to work with them in the future if needed. read more

Was making the move from Florida back to New York and needed a place to get into pretty quickly. Saw some ads for a room-share apartment and figured that it was probably the best route for me to go for my money. Initially, I was dealing with a realtor who wasn't following through or communicating with me and I was incredibly annoyed and angry, so I got in touch with Josh. I explained my situation and that I was in a completely different state and needed to have an apartment by the day that I flew there for me and my dogs to go to. Also since I was doing everything over the phone it made me a little more weary because I hadn't met anyone yet or even seen the place so for all I knew it wasn't legit. He told me he would take care of everything for me, and he did. He got me into the most amazing apartment and I couldn't be happier. Everything he told me he would do, he always followed through with and kept me in the loop so I knew what was going on. I lived in New York five years previously and saw a lot of apartments and this is definitely the best place I've seen especially for the price. New construction, keypad entry, washer/dryer, central AC, stainless steel, dishwasher, high ceilings, rooftop and backyard, up and coming neighborhood close to train and only 20 min from the city- love it! Thanks, Josh! read more

Sarah Kardos at Hagstrom is the most professional, reliable, and pleasant person I've ever had the good fortune of working with on an apartment search. I was active duty military for 6 years, and as you can imagine, I've moved quite a bit and have had my share of good and bad experiences with brokers and real estate management... but Sarah was by leaps and bounds the best experience I've had -- in New York City, no less. What I appreciate most about Sarah is her promptness with text/emails/communications, and her willingness to take extra time to candidly explain not only the units, but the neighborhood, best local spots, the building culture, commuting, utilities, and beyond. She treated my fiance and I with the utmost kindness and professionalism, and she also has a great sense of humor. I can honestly say that Sarah took the vast majority of the stress out of my housing search and move. She still regularly follows up with us to make sure everything is OK and up to our standards. To me, that is going above and beyond, and that's something you rarely see -- especially in NYC. I could not recommend Sarah and Hagstrom Management more! read more

I had a fabulous experience finding a place with Hagstrom! My boyfriend and I were apartment-hunting since I start my job in NYC in a few months, and it was definitely a hassle trying to timely communicate with agents. However, Roy posted a listing of the cutest duplex on Facebook and was very prompt in replying to our inquiries. He was able to schedule a tour with us the same day we contacted him, and even took videos of the apartment since I was out-of-state and couldn't see it in-person (also, COVID) - super accomodating! He was able to expedite our application, so I got approved within a day. Lauren was very prompt in helping me through that process and answering my questions about the lease. When I caught an error on the document, she even updated it for me! The whole process only took about 4 days (from seeing the apartment to signing the lease). Am very excited to start off the "next stage" after graduating college with a sweet apartment :) read more

I've been in NYC my whole life and, so, have dealt with real estate agents and companies countless times. Never once have I been compelled to go out of my way to share such a positive experience... Until now. I (fortunately) stumbled across a listing for an apartment that Sarah K. had listed in Flatbush, which happened to fit my criteria PERFECTLY. Check! After dealing with Sarah, who went out of her way on more than one occasion to accommodate me in every way possible, including a virtual tour, during these crazy times and more. Check! She made the entire process from the initial Q&A to the application process to being available to answer questions that came up, all the way through the approval process and ultimately the lease signing - I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. I'm not looking forward to moving any time soon, but know who my first call will be to. Thanks Sarah! read more

Absolutely Fantastic work by Roy Saiag. I'm currently a college student and was looking for another place to rent after rooming with some friends fell through. I'm not from NY and I also don't have much experience renting so needless to say I felt largely out of my depth when trying to apply to places. This was until I worked with Roy. I felt incredibly accommodated, with some of the best customer service I've experienced in a while. When I had a problem that didn't quite fit, I was given workable options to fix it. Roy also rushed to work with my schedule and took the initiative to assure things worked out for me. I am incredibly appreciative, and if the other reviews I've read here are true, this is the kind of company that promotes good attitudes and follow-through, which is most definitely worth your time. read more

Since my lease was ending in this difficult quarantine time, I needed to find an apartment in a limited amount of time. My friend recommended Hagstrom as she had a wonderful experience with them last year. I was surprised how fast Alla and Lauren found me a few options which fit all my needs, budget and neighborhood. I saw all of them through FaceTime and I really appreciate all the patience and professionalism of the agent for handling all my silly questions and doubts. I'm very thankful the whole Hagstrom team for facilitating the entire process virtually. Yesterday I moved into the perfect apartment in Bushwick with not just roommates, but a really great group with whom I'm enjoying getting to know. You guys are doing a fantastic job, especially helping people to find new homes in this difficult time. read more

Jadine was such a pleasure to work with. We started the process in the beginning of June. Once I submitted my request, she messaged me immediately. From there, she arranged viewings and was very communicative throughout the entire process. When the first apartment fell through, I was a little upset but she reassured me that we would find an apartment for me. Two weeks later, I messaged her about another apartment and she worked swiftly to submit my application. A few weeks went by but we finally secured the best apartment for me! Jadine's communication was 10/10 and I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in moving/changing apartments in nyc. read more

A very professional workplace with very professional agents. The agent Jadine, whom I met outside my newly renovated 2 bedroom duplex in Bushwick gave me a thorough walkthrough of the building and unit, was very detailed about the apartment and building's amenities. Jadine sent me their super application process and walked me through what I needed to submit along with the application, and their office manager Lauren was so incredibly immaculate and on point by having the application and credit check approved by the landlord and in a short time I had my lease and was able to move in to my apartment. THANK YOU HAGSTROM MANAGEMENT ! Danny B read more

Planning a move from LA back to NY during the COVID-19 shutdown has proved to be more challenging than I could have imagined. Sarah stepped in and found solutions for each and every obstacle. She sent dimensions, a floor plan AND even FaceTimed me from the property to the train station that I would walk to each day. She went above and beyond to answer my questions and provide information about the building, landlord and neighborhood. I went from inquiring on Streeteasy to signing my lease within 48 hours. Incredibly grateful for this stress free experience during such a stressful time. read more

Hagstrom NYC is a blessing. Moving from Massachusetts to Brooklyn, I was very out of my comfort zone. Jadine helped me find an amazing room, and even paired me up with comparable roommates. She was accessible all times of the day, and had answers for my never ending questions. Moving to another state was scary, but Jadine walked me through the entire process step by step. She knew her way around Brooklyn and made Brooklyn feel more like home for me. I'm so grateful for all her and her offices help. Hagstrom made me excited to move when I thought it would be extremely stressful read more

My Name is Davon and i wanted to say i had the best experience with Sarah. She was very professional and has outstanding customer service and knows what her client is looking for in a new home. I recently moved to the Brooklyn area from Florida. It was extremely difficult to find an apartment across state lines, but our agent, Lauren, was able to work with us. My husband and I spent over a month trying to find a realtor that would work with us since we were out of state - it seemed impossible. Once Lauren listened to our situation, she gave us some peace of mind. From start to finish, she made the process simple and made a relatively stressful situation, less stressful. My husband and I love our new place and could not be happier in the big apple. read more

I anticipated moving to Brooklyn from out of state to be very stressful and intimidating. Luckily I was referred to Dan from Hagstrom Management. I am so grateful for having had the opportunity to work with Dan. This realtor had my best interest at heart and helped me find me the perfect new home for me. He took his time to even show me around the neighborhood. When showing me listings, he took into consideration my work commute and ensured we found something convenient for me. Not to mention, their listings are beautiful! Thank you Dan and Hagstrom! read more

Nearly two years after my first review, I found myself searching for a new apartment. After a two-week struggle to find a place, I figured to reach out to Hagstrom again. The office put me in contact with Sarah and let me say, she does not disappoint. Within one week she, once again, found me an apartment which checked off all my boxes, and by the end of the week, she the lease prepped and ready to sign! Both professional and honest, she is hands down the best agent/broker I have ever come accross! Will not hesitate to use them again! read more

My realtor was Ron, and I had the best service that any of my realtors have ever given me in my past. So good that I had to just make an account on here to see if they had a section to write a review and I am not the type to do that... Ron was a very intelligent, well respected guy and was able to get me a place ASAP which was really great for my situation. For a desperate time in my life, when I needed a helping hand I couldn't have asked for anyone else to assist me... if you see this, THANK YOU RON! read more

I recently was looking for an apartment and had a real small window to find a place Leo took the time out to show me various apartments that suited my desired attributes. Leo really took the time to accommodate all my needs and made it a smooth transition to a new apartment for me. I would definitely recommend Leo and hagstrom as a whole for anyone looking to relocate and find a new place!! read more

Please do yourself a favor and work with Meg at Hagstrom. Meg was by far the kindest, most patient, most helpful broker I have worked with in my six NYC moves. She gladly took us to all of the places we threw at her and more, and she genuinely just wanted us to find the home that would make us the happiest. Meg made every step of the process so much easier and more pleasant than I could've dreamed. My roommate and I really couldn't thank her enough, and we think she may actually be an angel. read more
