**Update** Management has completely redeemed themselves in my eyes. I received a phone call earlier this week regarding my experience and had a nice conversation with the supervisor. I've never had a business extend themselves the way H2H has. In a very small way, I feel like this gives me hope for humanity. ::cue dramatic, starry music:: Lame jokes aside, they really have taken my experience seriously and for that, I'd not hesitate to recommend H2H in the future - or use them for my next move for that matter. **Update** I'm not sure how to review this outfit. I've used them twice in the past year and have had two different experiences. The first, you can assume went well since I used them a second time. They packed almost everything for me with 2 guys. A second crew was supposed to come later but after a discussion with the first two they did it all themselves. It might have taken all day but I think I saved some money. I found some broken things during unpacking like a shadow box glass and votive holders, but it seemed so minor I didn't think much about it. My second experience didn't turn out as well. I had a noon reservation but 10 minutes after I had to call to see where they were. Thirty minutes late, the girl says. She must have called the wrong person to let them know. Okay, I can deal with that too. A nap later, it's 1:15 and I haven't gotten a phone call. Called the office again and they had no idea what was going on. They called me back and pushed again for another 30 minutes. I won't see them until 2:15. I was happy to see my last two movers as part of the crew. The guys kick butt and are surprisingly strong. They have nothing but hustle and were, in my opinion, let down by the office. After multiple phone calls where I'm tracking down my movers who were over two hours late, the most they offered was to put blankets on my furniture, "a $40 value." That's all well and good, but when you will charge a potential customer a $50 fee for cancellations within 24 hours, it should at least be reciprocated when you're over your own service window. Yes, the fine print of their quotes spell all of this out. In my world though, I could have picked up some lunch if I had a reasonably accurate time estimate, and 2:15pm is still over 2 hours late. I couldn't manage to make my second trip back later that day after the delay. At least nothing was broken this time. So do what you want with this review Yelp, I can say through my own experience the process is kind of one sided, but the guys in the field are machines and will get the job done. Remember to have cash - the first $500 are cash required and beyond that they assess a 3% credit card processing fee. read more

These guys made moving a painless experience. It was our first time using movers instead of asking friends and paying them with beer and it was very much worth it. H2H showed up exactly on time with 4 guys to move our apartment. Within a half hour everything was packed up nice and neat into the back of their truck. From start to finish, these guys were done in an hour and a half. They worked very efficiently and the estimate they gave me was easy to understand. The final bill actually ended up less than quoted. All of the movers were professional and Alex, who seemed to be heading the team, was considerate to all of our concerns and direction. Would definitely use these guys for my next move, although I hope we don't have to move too soon! read more

They were actually an hour late however I was so impressed with the speed and attention to detail when handling my items that the late part didn't even matter anymore. This is an update to my review earlier. As soon as I posted my review I got a call from Simon, the manager. He was sooo nice and patient on the phone despite me retelling him everything that I was unhappy with throughout the move. He also offered to finish the move for us for free, which would have been awesome but unfortunately they didn't have anyone available for when my elevator slot is booked. However, he did give me a partial refund for the extra 2 movers. Overall I have to say they provide amazing customer service that you rarely see anywhere else. --- original review --- I hate to leave a negative review but at the end of the day we weren't able to finish moving everything and we have to look for other movers to move the rest of our furniture. And despite only moving HALF of our place the final amount I paid H2H is way over their original estimate for the WHOLE place. I really have mixed feelings about the job that H2H did. Some of the guys are great--they are crazy strong! But some of the guys were not good at all (see below). Originally I booked 4 guys, and for a price that most other moving companies would charge for 3 guys, I thought I was getting a great deal! Turns out I was totally wrong. When they got here they complained that there's too much stuff for them to move and they have to walk because the truck had to be parked around the corner (the street right in front of my apartment was blocked off because there is construction going on). Therefore, they wanted to ask for 2 more guys to come and help out. They told me it'll go much faster with 6 people so it won't cost me that much more. I said okay and they started calling for the extra guys right away. However, the 2 new guys didn't get here until 2-2.5 hours later, when the original 4 guys were basically done loading up the truck. Therefore the 2 additional guys barely did anything. One guy was constantly on his phone, and always asking to charge his phone. He even went to ask our building manager at the new place to charge his phone because we haven't set up power at the new unit yet. While the building we started out with is a walk-up, the building we are moving to has freight elevators and and a loading dock so it really didn't make any sense to have 6 guys there. The second reason why I'm unsatisfied with the move is not entirely their fault but still ultimately very frustrating and costly. Even though we paid for the extra 2 guys, it didn't help us get the move done faster (or even done at all!!) because it turns out everything we have won't fit in their truck. An hour into the move we were told we have to make two trips. I agreed at first but once I thought it through I realized that with two trips it would be past the elevator time slot we have reserved at our new building. In addition, their truck cannot be on the highway so with rush-hour traffic we are looking at paying for almost a whole hour extra with the 6 guys just sitting in the car not doing anything. The new hourly rate with 6 guys is almost double the initial rate with 4 guys, so the total cost would have been double the original quote. In the end we just decided to cut our losses and told them to not make the second trip. Despite all our frustrations with the move we still left them a good tip. Because of that we still have most of our furniture left at our old place and will have to book different movers to move those out another day. It's really frustrating because I kept asking them to make sure to move all the furniture first since we could always move the boxes ourselves, but they insisted on moving the boxes first so now we have to book movers for the remaining furniture. read more

I'm always a bit timid when I see a couple of bad reviews, but I took a chance since there were also several positive reviews. I'm so glad I did! They were super easy to contact via phone and email, and were always prompt with getting back to me on questions. I loved the fact that they use moving crates versus boxes! It makes the unpacking so much easier not having to get rid of boxes - and it's better for the environment. Then on top of it, the come back to pick them up! I had them do a full pack, and they were very efficient and carefu! I like their model on the packing - pay per crate. I didn't have to worry about them moving too slow just to get more money. Overall I'm very pleased with the service by H2H movers. The scheduler confirmed my appointment on a week's notice and got me set up and even permitted some schedule changes based on my elevator availability. The 3 gentleman that showed up called to request if they would be able to start early which worked out great. It always feels weird handing a wad of cash to someone even though this requirement was communicated very clearly to me in advance. I first heard of H2H Movers when I saw their trucks at the gas station by my house. I looked them up here on Yelp and saw many good reviews so I decided to reach out and get a quote. I knew I was moving from the city out to the suburbs, but I didn't know where I was moving to. I wanted to have at least a ballpark figure so I could plan ahead financially. I emailed them via their website (rather than filling out the quote form since I still had no idea where I was moving to) on Friday night. Saturday morning I received a reply. They were extremely responsive all interactions with them prior to the move and were professional and courteous. They called me a week before my move asking if they could move up the start time to 8am rather than 9am. I was totally up for that, start sooner end sooner. The move its self was awesome. My history with moving has always been an all day task. They sent a truck with 3 guys and they loaded me up in an hour and a half. They ended earlier than expected as well. My whole move (including drive time from Chicago to Aurora) took about 4 hours. Everyone was professional and treated all my possessions with care and respect. So far so good. I'm moving from one elevator building to another and the times that I have at both locations are very limited. I called numerous places with all of them telling me that they wouldn't be able to commit to my times. I spoke with H2H this afternoon and they were fantastic. They completely understood my dilemma with my moving times and assured me that it's not a problem for them. The price I was quoted was also extremely reasonable. Here's hoping now the move itself goes as smoothly as my first interaction as well as all the other 5 star reviews here on Yelp. Great customer service and movers! They took really good care of everything. The only thing I'd say is that the estimate given at the beginning was off, we had been told at the beginning that it'd take 4.5 hours when it ended taking about 6hrs...traffic was one of the factors but so you should plan for extra time added to your estimate so don't make any plans around the move because chances are it will take longer than expected. read more

Hello I have selected H2H based on the raving reviews on yelp. My move was mid March. From one Chicago neighborhood into another. Pros: the staff was friendly and worked fast Cons: 1) the staff did not wear protective shoe covers walking around the carpet so I had to spend extra time cleaning the carpet. 2) the frame from my queen bed got damaged in the process as H2H has yet to respond to my claim request. We are May. This is unacceptable. Based on this lack of response on claims, I cannot recommend H2H. In fact i would recommend against them. Best SG. read more

I admit I am 2 years late leaving this review however these guys came through at the last moment two years ago and had all of the furniture in my entire apartment wrapped and on the truck in less than 3 hours; I could barely keep up with them. My furniture was completely wrapped in blankets, and then plastic, leaving very little chance for damage; which there was none. Very professional, fast, and took exceptional care of my furniture. My move apparently started at 1215 even though I never even laid eyes on my movers until 1235 they claimed they were at my building. Could barely understand the guy explaining the pricing to me although he was really nice and so were the other guys. When we got to my new place the one guy asked if he could use my bathroom which I thought was a very weird request considering I had just moved in and there was a bathroom in the lobby. Not very impressed with this company and the move cost way more then I had initially been quoted. Asking someone to write a Yelp review when you're moving their stuff is also quite weird and was asked this multiple times while the crew was here. read more

Just go ahead and hire H2H Movers! You will be so happy you did. From the moment I called for my last minute move (four days ahead of time) the staff at H2H was so great to work with. I knew it was last minute but they were able to accommodate me with a truck and 3 movers. They promptly provided my building with the insurance certificate and happily dealt with the doorman who checks the hallways both before and after a move to make sure there were no dents. My building is a little over the top and these guys handled it like PROS. They were 20 minutes late but called me 30 minutes ahead of time to give me a heads up (there was traffic heading to my storage unit and I was actually 15 minutes late as well so it didn't bother me one bit). When I made the reservation they estimate 5 hours, when the guys saw what I had they estimated 4 hours and in the end it took 3 hours. I really appreciated their estimate being higher than what it eventually was. Everything was packed carefully and the movers respectfully pointed out some marks on my hallway walls before they moved a single item into my apartment. It was very professional. Awesome experience with H2H Movers! I hired them to move furniture and boxes from my convertible studio to a storage unit and was quoted $270 for 3 guys for 2 hours. This was the lowest price that I could find and their service did not disappoint! When the guys came, they were all very fast and efficient. Two of the guys moved my things to their truck and one padded my furniture and wrapped my bed. When we got to my storage place, my unit was unfortunately pretty far from the elevator and even though it was like walking through a maze, the guys didn't complain and went right to work. I was a little nervous that all of my furniture wouldn't fit in the 5 x 10 storage unit and that I would have to get an additional one, but they "played some tetris" (as one guy joked) and was able to fit everything and pack the unit to the brim. The final price was also cheaper than the quote ($265), which would've been $255 if I didn't get my bed wrapped for $10. For the price and service, H2H Movers is the BEST! I will definitely be using them again when I move my things from the storage unit to my new apartment. read more

They were on time, got right down to business, were respectful of me and my belongings, didn't damage a single thing, and ended up taking less time and costing less than the original quote. I have no problems giving these guys a 5-star. They deserve it. The reservationist was polite and efficient, got me scheduled without any hassle. Then I immediately received an email confirming the appointment. The movers showed up on time and were polite, maybe too polite ('excuse me Ma'am, is it okay if we...?" ). Prior to moving the items out (1 leather couch and 2 leather stuffed chairs), they swiftly "shrunk-wrapped" them at $10 per piece. Then hauled them out of my office building, loaded 'em onto the truck and drove about two miles to my living residence. They immediately brought them into my unit and got rid of the shrink-wrap. The whole move took about one hour and forty minutes. The total cost was extremely reasonable (plus tip, I had no problem doing this). There was no BS, drama, all head-ache free. In fact, I didn't have to think! My office neighbor was so impressed that she wanted the name of this company. My husband and I will definitely use these guys again. Only regret is I kept putting off this move---wish I have done this earlier considering how easy H2H made it!! read more

The movers were pleasant, but after being called 2 hours before my move and being told I had to take 4 movers instead of 3 at a higher price I was not happy. They told me i could keep the team of 3 but they didn't know when they would be available. I was left in a position where I had to take them, worried I would never see the team of 3. I was told it would take them a lot less time and I would end up paying the same that I was quoted. It then took the team of 4 almost 5 hours to move a 1 bedroom apartment! I moved in 1 year earlier and it took a team of 3 2.5 hours with the same amount of items. Overall it took twice the time (and 2x the cost) and I'm wondering why it took them so long to move me! I was very excited to find a company who would do an intra-building move. Paul and Yan were very efficient while taking great care of my items. My building manager kept warning my that my couch may not fit through my entranceway but they wrapped it so well - honestly two more inches and it wouldn't have made it so the care they took definitely made it work! I have been trying to schedule my move for two weeks and H2H has done nothing but provide incorrect availability and ignore common requests like not to contact by phone during business hours. They will do anything to make a sale and has made this process significantly harder than it should ever be.Having a number of employees on emails has left a number of details fall through the cracks - simple things like moving dates, items, are getting missed or completely ignored. I would not even try to contact them to help with your move, they will probably lie to you anyway. read more

We were extremely happy with H2H Movers. They showed up on time, were very quick, efficient, and careful with getting out our furniture from the old place, and even more efficient getting it in to the new place. They arrived before us to our new apartment and dealt with the front door staff to get the loading dock opened without us being there, which was great! The guys were friendly and made the extremely stressful experience of moving not so bad. The initial estimated time of our move was around 4.5 hours, they got it done in 3. **update at bottom** I hired H2H mostly due to the great reviews on here. However, our experience was nothing like what I have read. I have used another moving company for our last two moves and didn't realize how great the other company was until I hired H2H. First of all, the move took hours longer than it should have. I was moving from a 1BR apartment to another and it took over 4 hours just to load the truck (all of our boxes/furniture were packed and ready to go. This is just loading time). For my last move it took the other company 3 hours total from start to finish - with 1 less guy! This is a big difference; and when paying hourly, very frustrating. This is mainly due to the many, many breaks the guys took and the complaining that I heard constantly. I felt bad for the guys because it was their second job of the day, but as a consumer it was very frustrating. H2H should have sent a different crew if the morning job was so tough. Also, my box spring was left behind because four "professional" movers said they couldn't get it down the stairs (how did it get up then?). However, a friend was able to get the box spring out single-handedly the next day! This seems ridiculous. On top of the frustrating 6 1/2 hour move, I found a lot of things listed as "fragile" thrown upside down and other items broken and not kept upright as we instructed. I feel extremely over-charged and disappointed in the lack of service we received; and no follow-up from the company after the fact. Terrible day, over-priced, and no respect for us as customers. **update** After speaking with H2H about the problems we experienced, they were very helpful and seemed genuinely concerned.
