Poke from the fish area: fresh; delicious and way cheaper than restaurant pokes. I love love love Hmart. I drive up here weekly for grocery and food

Golden pompano, ready for the grill

Last pompano we bought was from the case, already cleaned. It was tasty enough we decided to get more for this week, this time got it at the fishmonger's counter, where you can pick out your fish and have it cleaned/gutted however you want to take it home. Neat little number system on a sign board so there isn't any confusion to your options. Impressive array of seafood, nicely displayed, and the service was very quick and efficient. Minimum time waiting for the fish to be processed, and bagged up for transport home. Pictures give a small idea of what's on offer, it does change, and there is a ton of already packaged seafood ready to pick up. There is also a separate island for other seafood, esp. shrimp/lobster/squid/octopus. Worth checking out is you want more option to cook from the big groceries.

The grocery shopping experience is incredible. Anything you need for whatever style of Asian cooking you're doing, they have what you need! The most amazing and delicious part, though, is the food court. You enter the food court and it's buzzing with people. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The aromas instantly make you hungry. You just know that it's going to be good. The hard part is figuring out what to eat. I opted to order from Narrow Street. It did not disappoint! I had the Spicy Pork Udon. Spicy and flavorful but not hot. The Udon noodles were the perfect texture and the flavor of that dish will stay with me!!! Served with a side of mildly garlicy spicy daikon, Chef's Kiss! It's a must try if you're in North Austin!

Now that I've been to the Austin H Mart, I have higher expectations from my home base H Mart in Federal Way, WA. The H Mart in Federal Way needs more space to grow plus the aesthetics are stuck in the early 2000s. They really need to scout for larger square footage. The Austin planning team did a really good job. They did their homework. I'm impressed with this store. I knew it was popular with locals just because of how far out we had to park from the entrance. It's modern and spacious. It's not hard to know which US state and city you're in because it's plastered all over their walls, interior and exterior. It's pretty hard to avoid. We're pretty low key up here in the PNW, plus we have a lot more H Marts in our region so we don't push too much with advertising locations. In this space, not only do they have a grocery store but they have retail, entertainment, and services too. Their food court (Market Eatery) is so efficient. Instead of congregating in the walkway after ordering, the restaurant will give you a pager and you can grab a table while you wait for them to prep your food. That's like taking care of the senior citizens, people who are pregnant, and people who have disabilities. The restaurants provide a mix of traditional food and street food. While you're waiting for your order, you can chat with friends and fam or you can watch K-Pop music videos on the projection screen above the stage. While the Downtown Seattle H Mart is near regional bus systems, a streetcar, 2 light rail stations, and the Monorail, this Austin location is in a car centric area and is somewhat far from downtown Austin. We stayed at a hotel in downtown Austin but had to drive about 30 minutes out, which was farther than driving to the 99 Ranch off Lamar Blvd. It was still worth the drive though. Gas in Austin ($3.79 reg) is still more affordable than the $6+ a gallon we're been paying up here in WA state.

H Mart is a bit of a trek for me -- about a 30+ minute drive -- but I make it anyway because it fully satisfies all of my KBBQ cravings and then some. Distance honestly doesn't matter once you're inside. Right before the icy winter freeze of 2026, I made a big trip here and stocked up on meats and banchan, and I'm not exaggerating when I say it sustained me through the whole freeze. The meat is incredibly economical for the quality, and everything tasted fresh and delicious. If you're into Korean BBQ at home, this place is unmatched. Their meat selection is excellent and well-organized, which makes shopping surprisingly easy and efficient. No wandering around confused -- just grab what you need and go. The thinly sliced wagyu (pictured) were the first time I tried wagyu in my life. So delicious and a must-try! The produce section also deserves a shoutout. The fruits are consistently great quality. I especially love the oranges, and the pink-inside guavas are my absolute favorite -- I always grab them when I see them. Even though it's far from where I live, I still go regularly because it's just that good. And I honestly can't wait for the Burnet Rd location to open (closer to me) -- that will be a game changer.

This is probably undoubtedly one of my favorite places to go in Austin. Not only does the grocery store have a great selection and the prices are reasonable but the food hall is amazing. I also love that they always rotate out pop ups like Calbee (Japanese snacks) or have different events/activities for the kids to do. The bakery is always delicious and I enjoy trying the many different fresh bread/pasties when I go. The honeydew smoothie is a 10/10!!

This is the only H mart in town and around so nothing else can beat it..... for now. Outside of that they have everything an hmart needs. This place can get really packed and the produce section can be a cluster. You might even need to party at the home depot sometimes. A lot of good premade korean choices to meal prep or get a fast meal. I'd this was not so far I would go here more.

    Patricia K.

The H Mart! What a fun place to shop and eat. The Taro bubble tea from the bakery shop was so tasty. The bakery items were so delicious and the atmosphere big. So fun to shop around! They had an old fashion Photo Booth $10 that was fun. The food court had a large selection of items & entrees. The store has a huge selection of unique items. A+ It's a fun place to go. They have the largest selection of SPAM I've ever seen! (See photo).

Rice cooker hunt! More variety original options of different rice cooker from Tiger, cuckoo etc. Amazon has other options but for Asian home staple ones---this is the place!

This days journey takes me to the states capital, searching for some authentic Asian food and no better place than "H-Mart". This store has everything from delicious restaurants and a wonderful bakery inside. This store is an absolute treasure if you are looking for authentic food and home items to personal care items. As far as food, this place is packed with food, from fresh fruit and vegetables to canned and frozen items. The meat area is equally good, fresh seafood too. It's everything you need in one place. This place a great vibe, very welcoming place.

An experience, that's for sure. Mix a grocery, department store, and food court all In one with K-pop on the big screen.

Bibimbap from first Korean place on the left side when you first walk in.
    Kimberly H.

The Austin h-mart is awesome. It's spacious with a large selection. I've been able to find staple Korean ingredients there. The food court is also really nice - good food and a nice community vibe space. I went there near Christmas and there was a live pianist playing holiday music and another time KPop demon hunters was playing. Nice to see those types of events at an Asian location in TX. When you walk in from the front entrance and face the court, the first place on the left had great bibimbap for veggie lovers - generous with the toppings. And the last Korean restaurant in the back right has some good stews.

    Sophia G.

I love H mart. It's been awhile since I've been there because it's so far north. But it's such a great place to go spend the day. With so many food options, a lot of seating, and there's even games! I love getting groceries from here too. I always stock up on tofu when I'm here. Depending on when you go the parking lot can be super full. It's usually extremely packed on the weekends and then a better crowd on weekdays.

Ask the Community - H Mart - Austin

What are the food court hours?

If I forget my bags, do they have any?

    Yes, plastic bags.

Do they sell Thai basil and Thai chili's?

I am not 100pct certain but believe you will have some luck. They have an extensive produce area.. worse case you enjoy all the other stuff they have!

Is it open on Black Friday?

This place never closes...365. Closes at 10 pm.

Does anyone know if they have a variety of soju?

They have an entire section dedicated to Asian spirits and alcoholic beverages. They definitely have soju. If you're looking for a specific brand, I would assume, yes.

Does HMart sell live Blue Crab?

They sell the live crabs that are in season, so I would probably call first if you're traveling a distance just for them.

    Where is the menu?

There's no single menu. There are a number of food stalls, and each one has its own menu. I'm guessing each stall will have to have its own entry in Yelp in order to have separate reviews and menus.

Well, this is probably the best TJ's in the Austin area due its size and variety of healthy, eco-friendly products, so if you've not yet had the pleasure to visit, here's why you should: 1. Yes, it's in downtown at Seaholm but you get 1 hour of free, validated, protected garage parking right outside the basement doors. When you come in the garage, go forward and loop around to the left side to reach the marked TJ spaces. In 2025, you validate by entering your license plate number in the Metropolis kiosk - it's a breeze. 2. Bring an insulated bag for frozen items. TJ's has an impressive selection of high quality frozen seafood and prepared meals, appetizers, sides, and desserts that you won't find anywhere else at these prices. Lately my favorites are the assorted dumplings and other dim sum fare. Oh, and get ready for some fun on the freezer aisle, where you'll be tempted by all manner of sweet treats stored at eye level above the freezers. 3. Seasonal, limited edition items. Early summer was lemon season with lemon pasta, lemon pesto, lemon body care, lemon candles, and so on. My most recent visit, it was strawberry everything: tiny pies, mochi, dry cereal, etc. At Christmas time, my friends go wild for the kringle pastry selection. There's always something that will only be around for a few days, so you feel like you've struck gold when you get there before it's all gone. 4. Seasonings and sauces. TJ's has some of the best spice blends and prepared sauces that will punch up your home cooked meals. I am obsessed with the crunchy chili onion oil and dry crunchy chili onion sprinkle shaker, living in anxiety that they will be retired. 5. The nicest people! Everyone working seems to have a PhD in customer service. I always leave with a smile on my face after dealing with the friendly checkout counter staff person. There's even more to love - fresh flowers! awesome skincare dupes! great produce & cheese! excellent low cost wines! - but you'll need to come in & experience it for yourself. Bring your reusable bags!
