Every single time I shop there, cost labels are inaccurate, old and just flat out not even under the item sold. Expired products on shelves. Also, cashiers always make mistakes and when I talk to the manager nothing is ever rectified and if the one chance it is, I'm held up for at least 30 minutes to get my 40 cents back. We decided to drop in here on a whim and I'm glad we did. This grocery store has a large parking lot that is shared with other stores so there is a bit of an issue with that. But this store is huge and has several ethnically marked aisles. The one issue I had with it is that there is no organization within those aisles which can make it hard to find things in them. Several aisles have the same things in them as other aisles when I think they could have been combined. They have lots of religious candles which comes in handy. They have a very large produce area, a bakery, a meat counter, and even make napales there as well. Check-out was easy and the store was very clean. I'd come back for sure. read more

I feel I like prices here may be a bit higher than I tiger places like Walmart, or HEB. BUT they do have a wayyyy larger variety of products you won't find anywhere also. They sell products from a lot of countries, so it's convenient if this is what you're looking for. I went in midday on a Saturday at the place was chill except for the cafeteria they have by the entrance. They had a very long line waiting to grab an affordable plate from their menu. Knew I had to see what all the fuss was about. The options they had looked good and tasted great! I chose the mojarra frita, came with rice and veggies or beans, for only $8.99! Best deal in town! If you're going to cook mole poblano, you make a beeline for Fiesta, and you'll find every ingredient you need... all 42 of them. If you need queso fresco, chicharrones, banana leaves or chile mulato, this is the #1 and ONLY place to go in town. Fiesta also has a nifty international section that includes British, Indian, Peruvian and Puerto Rican ingredients, among many goodies from other nationalities. Fiesta doesn't try to be HEB or Whole Foods or what not. It is what it is and it's damn good at it. I do have one bone to pick with Fiesta, though (management, hope you're listening!)... How did you miss the Day of the Dead so completely? No fresh marigolds, only a few tired looking little panes de muerto, and so on? Eh, I wish I liked this place more. It's the closest store with a reliable supply of yerba mate, so I have to visit on a semi-regular basis. There's an excellent selection of products from Latin America, to a lesser extent from the rest of the non-US world. Prices for the imports are very good. The meals they prepare on-site are tasty and reasonably priced. Prices for general groceries are quite high; I'd say downright uncompetitive, when compared to HEB. So, you fill your basket or cart, and then you get to the checkout. Nearly every time I've been, checkout lines are backed up well into the aisles, and getting out of the store is extremely inefficient. Fiesta will keep me as a customer as long as they stock yerba mate. If it weren't for that, I'd ghost them. read more

Good market located in mid-town Austin, just east of the 35. Went there recently with the express goal of finding some decent frozen chicken burritos and real chicharrones. (Apparently the ones you typically find in a bag are closer to Funyons Onion Snacks then pork cracklings.) Well, mission half-accomplished. Couldn't really find anything in the frozen section that stood out from the local HEB's, which surprised me. However, the store does sell chicharrones which are 'the real deal', and they are full of greasy goodness. :-) The main standout area is in the produce section, where they have several items you can't find easily in other stores, particularly varieties of peppers. Recommended if you're trying to find just the right ingredient for your Mexican or Tex-Mex cooking! read more

We love this grocery store! One of the best places to all different kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those types of vegetables that you would probably not get at a regular HEB. We love trying out their different types of vegetables, from pre-cut nopales to round bread fruit to myer lemons and much more. It is paradise for people like my husband and I who love cooking and experimenting with new ingredients. Their fresh fish station has great looking seafood and their meat counter always has a variety of options. It is also a great one-stop-shop for people looking for ingredients and condiments from around the world. I love their Indian products aisle as I can get many much needed essentials for my Indian kitchen. One thing that was interesting is that they also sell Mexican inspired outfits and all different kinds of sombreros which we thought was fun. TIP: Excellent homemade food in their deli. Only issue is that they use prepackaged tortillas. They should be fresh. :-/ As for the actual store. Well, I love it. It feels like a cross between an H.E.B. that is modern and clean, along with a sample of a Mexican market where you can buy fresh aguas frescas (fresh fruit water) and tacos or tortas made by older Mexican ladies. The deli is on the right as soon as you enter and you might be better off killing your hunger there before walking into the rest of the store. You can also grab yourself some blue bell ice cream in the little section exactly to the left of the main entrance. They flank you quick when you are coming or going! :) Their produce section is pretty neat with a variety of products you might not find at other grocery stores and they do tend to have good sales on certain items. I have noticed that they will almost always be offering more limes for a dollar than any other spot. Usually around 10, sometimes up to 20! I have yet to partake, but they do offer a nice assortment of fresh seafood with a few different types of whole fish that you won't see at other grocers. Straight forward from the door there are a few international aisles that have everything from Indian, Filipino, Thai and other Asian products. A couple of the other reviews on here, actually speak about the country origins of those products in better detail. Of course, the main products you will find will be a lot of Spanish products including Mexican. I decided to look for frying cheese there just in case, and go figure. They had it! I discovered fried cheese in NYC because the Puerto Ricans and Dominicans over there make it a lot especially when frying up plantain chips. It was a very welcome introduction back onto my palatt. They sell Faygo. I dated this girl once who swore she would let me give her a Faygo shower as we were intimate but it never came to pass. I don't hold Fiesta Mart accountable for this, it was just timing. Great selection and eases my white guilt. They have exotic Mexican candy and you can get your taxes done there. You can also buy items from the gumball machines that will have your children embrace the thug/gangsta lifestyle early on because ain't nobody got time to raise no weaklings. Open 24 hours so I can venture down there as the kids sleep. They are gonna have to get used to that too. ZERO room for weakness. I found a bunch of "death" candles there and surrounded junior's bed with them. He is now in a band and they play REAL metal as a result. No one tops Fiesta mart. NO ONE. read more

Fiesta is our go to store for groceries when we are looking for multiple things ranging from produce to Indian spices to Mexican cheese to mudbugs. The prices are reasonable and there's a lot of choices, particularly look for store specials for the week. We are always on the lookout for a good deal for Topochico (Texans know what I'm talking about). Their seafood section offers a variety of choices including the Gulf Coast shrimp and oysters at a very reasonable price and fresh product quality. Recommended to come in early to get your hands on the fresh produce and they seem to run out of multiple items in the produce section as the day progresses. We will continue to come here to stock up on multiple items that are usually trips to different stores, this makes it a one stop shop. It's 24 hours but not everything is available 24 hours such as their Fresh tortillas, and the food section also closes later in the evening! First time shopping here. I decided to eat beforehand, BEST IDEA EVARRR. I had a steak fajita taco and some beans.... delicious! I usually go to HEB but I wanted to see if I could find food cheaper... I totally did! The variety here is amazing, they even had "Tofutti" which I used to buy all the time when I was a vegetarian and haven't seen anywhere else. Buying in bulk here is the way to go especially when something is on special. I bought 2 packs of 18 eggs for .88 cents each! I plan on saving the receipt and doing a similar shopping trip to HEB again just to see what the real differences are. I purchase Lean Cuisine's often and they were about .40 cents more at Fiesta. That was the only real noticeable difference and since you're saving on other items, not really a big deal. For buying fresh, Fiesta is the way to go... the only thing I wasn't too happy with was the red onions. They were pretty small compared to HEB's. read more

During my recent trip to Austin, I decided to visit the Fiesta market curious as to which hispanic foods they actually offer. It's a very large grocery store with a few stands outside selling clothing, and a food stand inside. I was surprised to see they are open 24 hours, but I assume this helps alleviate the crowds. The majority of the store sells your typical grocery items with a small section by the produce dedicated to international food products. Don't be discouraged by the name, they offer foods from Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe as well. I was hopeful to find a few Costa Rican products, but once again I was left disappointed. I have yet to find any Hispanic food market to carry these items on a regular basis. This wouldn't be a big deal to me but as soon as I walked in they had a large Costa Rican flag displayed... very deceiving. My major complaint and the main source of this low rating is that part of the market had an intolerable stench. As soon as you approach the seafood counter (even from 25 ft away) you can detect the smell of foul seafood. This was truly disturbing and I quickly left that area. Other than that, you are sure to find something to spice up your cooking here so it's worth a try at least once. read more

Selection of foreign food is awesome (hence two stars instead of one), but I can't get over the chaos of the lines and crowds. There are so many unique south of the border items in this store. It is so neat to go inside and look around. You can also get many unique spices to cook with. My favorite thing to see was the dried peppers hanging from string. It anelled wonderful in there with all the spices. I have driven past Fiesta on IH35 for years. But I had never been inside. I remember a few years ago reading that Robert Plant liked shopping at Fiesta. So, I thought I would stop by when next in the neighborhood. I liked it! I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, so I stocked up big time. I liked the overall layout of the store, the bright and cheerful interior, and the variety of international foods it carries. I am currently hooked on Gamesa's "Barras de Coco" cracker/cookies (which are great with coffee), so I was delighted to buy a big box of them. read more
