    2 small hass avocados #4046

I just got ripped off by the cashier (Jenny). She charged my for 3 large avocados ($7.50) which I did not buy. I bought 2 small one which were on sale for 2/99 cents. When I told her about it, she removed only $5.00 from the bill. I called the store when I got home and they said the next time I come to the store I should ask for Juk who will provide the rest of the refund??

This is definitely NOT GOATS MEAT!!

We decided to drop in here on a whim and I'm glad we did. This grocery store has a large parking lot that is shared with other stores so there is a bit of an issue with that. But this store is huge and has several ethnically marked aisles. The one issue I had with it is that there is no organization within those aisles which can make it hard to find things in them. Several aisles have the same things in them as other aisles when I think they could have been combined. They have lots of religious candles which comes in handy. They have a very large produce area, a bakery, a meat counter, and even make napales there as well. Check-out was easy and the store was very clean. I'd come back for sure.

I feel I like prices here may be a bit higher than I tiger places like Walmart, or HEB. BUT they do have a wayyyy larger variety of products you won't find anywhere also. They sell products from a lot of countries, so it's convenient if this is what you're looking for. I went in midday on a Saturday at the place was chill except for the cafeteria they have by the entrance. They had a very long line waiting to grab an affordable plate from their menu. Knew I had to see what all the fuss was about. The options they had looked good and tasted great! I chose the mojarra frita, came with rice and veggies or beans, for only $8.99! Best deal in town! Highly recommend this grocery store, a lot of options if you want to expand your palate.

Great place to shop! Great variety of foods and Mexican foods. Pleasant place to shop.

Beautiful selection of peppers in the produce department.

Good market located in mid-town Austin, just east of the 35. Went there recently with the express goal of finding some decent frozen chicken burritos and real chicharrones. (Apparently the ones you typically find in a bag are closer to Funyons Onion Snacks then pork cracklings.) Well, mission half-accomplished. Couldn't really find anything in the frozen section that stood out from the local HEB's, which surprised me. However, the store does sell chicharrones which are 'the real deal', and they are full of greasy goodness. :-) The main standout area is in the produce section, where they have several items you can't find easily in other stores, particularly varieties of peppers. Recommended if you're trying to find just the right ingredient for your Mexican or Tex-Mex cooking!

    Frying cheese! Heck ya!

Coffee, though, was more expensive compared to other international stores I've been to. What really stood out in a bad way was the attitude of the staff. No one was rude exactly, but they act like they don't really want to be there, and definitely not like they want you to be there either. Product-wise, no complaints. But the vibe from the people working there? Pretty unfriendly.

My main complaint is that it can be overwhelming, especially when you're trying to find one specific thing. The other issue is that so many items have mislabeled prices or none at all. This can be challenging when you're trying to stay in budget while faced with more options that you can imagine. Also, fresh prepared items don't necessarily have their ingredients listed which can be scary for less adventurous eaters. The store is generally easy to navigate even through some cluttered set ups.

And I didn't know what to expect my first visit. I thought I was going into a mini Japanese version of H Mart or something, but nope. This is very much a Japanese CONVENIENCE STORE with a little extra bonus on the side, so adjust any expectations. SIXTY PERCENT OF THE STORE IS NOODLES. Like WTF...is this a noodle headquarters? It felt unbalanced...like I had walked into the wrong store and wasn't supposed to be there. So many noodles, it scared me. I expected a variety store. Carry on. The layout is also a bit confusing for such a small space. I genuinely wasn't sure what areas were designated for customers and what areas were for employees...at one point wandering way into the back. My bad. They've got a solid selection of imported goods. Slightly pricey, but this is expected since they offer quite a few niche items you can't find everywhere. Still affordable, though. I HAPPILY grabbed some black sesame latte mix to whip up iced lattes at home as well as some black tea flavored soy milk. This is what you come to these stores for! The niche items. Now to the soft serve: Flavor-wise? Good strong black sesame flavor. Texture? Not so great. This was very icy and not creamy at all as I had hoped. The online pics were deceiving. Plus there were clumps in it that should've been blended out. However, it was refreshing and I could MAYBE see myself returning on a hot day for more if I'm close by. They only offer it on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. It's good, but no need to run for this. You can walk. Lol. It scratched the itch but I'm not running back for it. All in all, not an everyday stop, but an "I'll see you when I see you" spot. Know what I mean? 3 stars.
