We picked one up with pork ribs, roasted pork belly, bok choy, and white rice. It felt like a great deal, and since we hadn't tried the food here before, we figured why not. If you want to choose your meats, you can order directly at the counter. My husband got the 2 BBQ meat combo ($12.99) with roasted pork belly and honey BBQ pork. It came with bok choy and fried rice. The rice was pretty dry, but the meats were all equally good. The roasted pork belly is much better if you air-fry it and dip it in the sauce. The food is definitely on the unhealthy side, so my stomach wasn't too happy afterward, but nothing major. Overall, I still think this is a solid option if you're pressed for time. read more

Honestly I made the trek here to try boba from the bakery but also found out they sell dim sum here which doubled my reason to journey down. Only a few states sell boba so it was a special moment, as growing up we had a simple bakery and hot deli without boba. I also couldn't find any menus so I had to document them, the price is absurd. Like absurdly cheap. It's not exceptional boba but for this price point, in this economy, it's fantastic. Boba is chewy and slightly sweetened with I believe a honey coating. Tea was light but evident. They also do a combo of a drink with two small bakery items (basically any regular bun) for $6.50. They had so many pork sung options for me to pick from, which is my favorite selection. It's honestly a whole lunch but then there's also the hot deli available where they have some cheap steals as well. Inside 99 Ranch when you enter the double doors, turn right and walk all the way down... there is a Hot Deli area where you can pick up a great deal for food at a reasonable price. My go to is the $10.99 for two sides and your choice of fried rice, steam rice, or noodles. I pick fried rice along with the sweet and sour pork ribs, and eggplant. They also offer dim sum but it runs out quick! The steamed black bean pork and chicken feet is good. The pork sui mai is ok. Not the best I've ever had but in a craving pinch, it's doable. I usually love their food but I notice my meal was extra greasy and drenched in oil which is not normal. I've eaten here multiple of times but this one was very unusual. Rice, pork, and eggplant was drowning in oil. :/ . The portions are good and the food is made fresh every day. They have fish, tofu, veggies, shrimp, beef, pork, and so many options to pick from. It's a great value meal! They also offer roasted pork, Chinese bbq pork, and roasted duck that they sell by the pound. This store is a must stop when I'm in Austin. While I shop at the big Asian stores in San Antonio, this is my favorite shop in Austin. So, I stock up when I can. It's such a clean, & wide open store. Plenty of room to walk through the isles, even with two buggies in the isle. Your food selections are, IMO, endless for yummy Asian stock items & snacks you just must try. I always find something new I have to get. Oh, & their sales are awesome. I got my Kewpie mayo for $4.99 today. Grabbed two. If you want to try a Spam you've never had before - I bet they have it. How about a new soy sauce? They probably have it too. When you first walk in you're seduced by the bakery & all their deliciousness. The 99 ranch food court is like an elevated Panda Express! We tried the eggplant, orange chicken, and stir‑fried noodles. The food is a bit salty, but that's to be expected. The combo deal was around $14. . The eggplant was tender and savory. The stir‑fried noodles were yummy as well! This is a nice place for a quick bite. Why I haven't reviewed this lol! I came when it first opened and still never disappoints. They have the most Filipino hard to find products amongst all Asian supermarkets in Austin. I love coming here and it's a spot I bring my friends to who visit from out of state! They have discount/reward card. Full selection of fresh and frozen vegetables, they have the freshest hot pot thin sliced meat, bakery and drinks in front with the cafeteria style and most fave duck roast! It's a very nice location where there's hot pot, Japanese anime stores, bbq, coffee and all sorts of Asian delicacies and novelties. Service is good. Needed supplies for tea from an Asian Grocery store so I checked Yelp and found 99 Ranch. First let me say the entire area was filled with Asian stores and restaurants. That was fun for us. The parking lot was full on a Sunday at 11 am and the parking spots are very narrow. However, we found a spot and was able to explore. Inside is bright and everything was well stocked and looked fresh. They have a bakery, juice shop, and a restaurant that smelled delicious. We had to get lunch on the way out. It was busy and a little complicated to order if you are not used to it, but it was delicious and worth the wait! My hubby loved the orange chicken and I favored the sweet and sour ribs. The isles are narrow and busy. It's best to have pictures of the items you need, if you are not sure. Everything is labeled above in English and Chinese for your convenience. And please bring your own bags, they don't offer any. Overall it was a good experience and we plan to go back again. Especially for more food! read more

This is a pretty sweet little Asian market, but parking can be atrocious, especially if you go on a weekend. I know they have restaurants inside, but I have yet to experience any of the food there. It is nicely organized, well lit, super clean, and the variety of snacks is incredible. I went in with the idea of getting myself a nostalgic treat, (I was originally thinking Botan rice candy) but left with several others instead. I got home and realized I didn't even look for the rice candy. I did get some Hello Panda, Yan yan, and some Seaweed wrapped crackers. I bought several other items that weren't even close to what I originally went in for. Hubs had a good time and snagged a few things for his palette as well. This review is for their deli section, which sells dim sum all day. We ordered BBQ Pork Buns, dumplings, sesame balls, radish cake, and soy milk, and we paid about $16 for everything. All the food we received was hot, fresh, and ready to enjoy. The BBQ Pork Buns have a sweetened bun with a delectable pork filling. The pork dumplings were plump and full of flavor. Our sesame balls had just the right chewiness and red bean paste filling. The radish cake was grilled and seasoned perfectly. Last but not least, the soy milk was very tasty--so much so that it reminded me of freshly made soy milk in Taiwan. When we arrived, there was no line; we were greeted and serviced immediately. We were able to find a table near the deli and bakery. Few people were there for a Saturday morning, which made for an enjoyable dining experience. My boyfriend and I frequent this area often, and every time we visit 99 Ranch, we've noticed this spot is consistently busy with long lines and a full dining room. We both love Chinese food and ordered some of our go-to favorites: fried rice, two chicken dishes, dumplings, and a few dim sum items. Sadly, nothing really hit the mark. The food was lukewarm, and many of the dishes had a gamey aftertaste that made them hard to enjoy. After just a few bites of each dish, we found ourselves unable to finish the meal. The orange chicken in particular was a struggle, some pieces were so tough/chewy I had to discreetly remove them from my mouth. Also, because the restaurants seating is in a grocery store, where we had to sit, we noticed that there was not much space and other shoppers were bumping into us with either their own bodies or their carts. Well, I'm here to recommend the Bakery/Cafe, but I want to tell you that I LOVE THIS SUPERMARKET, too! The deli is fantastic, but I'm allergic to shellfish, and I don't eat pork so I don't really eat there. I like to bring my computer and sit in the bakery 9-11am. The only bummer is they do not provide WiFi. I use my hotspot! When I get there, I get two amazing tea eggs and a hot matcha latte. By around 10am, they've really filled out the case with fresh buns. I really recommend the scallion bun! It's self serve. So fun! The true challenge is that - by 11am, the people-watching at the deli gets really good. I first started shopping at Ranch 99 in L.A. during the mid-90s. I was happy when the Austin store opened in 2018. My buddy who moved to Austin from the Bay Area noticed how clean the Austin location is compared to other locations. Re: Food Court The server packed my rice rolls filled with shrimp in a plastic container. He accidentally dropped the container on the ground filled with the rolls and proceeded to serve it to me. Gross! He said it was fine but now I'm all grossed out and am not motivated to eat it. Why is he so unsanitary? If food containers fall to the ground, they need to be thrown away! I've got to give my 99 Ranch Market some love, because there are so few dedicated Asian super stores in the area, and they need to be promoted for all the good food they have and all the great food they have! I love the variety of native Asian meats, frozen foods, desserts, and fruits you can't get in other places. Seafood is fresh and there is a large variety as well. What probably doesn't get talked about enough is the plethora of Asian snacks! Shrimp chips, sticky rice balls selection, yogurt drinks, hard candy sweets, and fresh mochi too! I love the insane amount of different tea drinks and spices and sauces as well. You can basically find any type of native Asian spice or sauce you really need. Pricing is pretty fair and nothing is really exorbitantly expensive. I like the selection of frozen dumplings, dim sum, scallion pancakes, and different types of bao's also. Dried food options are plenty as well. I haven't had a ton of the hot food, lunch options available by their bakery, but usually are pretty solid in taste and value for what you get. Not great, but not bad either. I have the same opinion about their bakery selections as well. Right by the hot lunch options are a few pre-made food selections available, like zhong zhi, bao's, and pig's ear! A decent selection of traditional eats! Nice workers and a friendly environment! My kids have always loved roaming through the aisles looking at all the cool looking packaging and items in every aisle. The aisles are a little narrow when there are a few people in them, for sure, but for the most part, have usually felt like I can navigate through the story very easily with no issues. Parking lot is a bit of a nightmare because of how nutso and poorly designed it is, so when you arrive, be careful and have your head on a swivel! There are a ton of other really yummy restaurants in the strip mall, along with 85c Bakery across the way, which adds to the parking madness! Again, a solid Asian grocery market, that leans heavily East Asian, Chinese and Korean, with some sprinkling of Southeast Asian foods. Definitely visit 99 Ranch for some yummy grocery eats and stay around the area for other delicious food options around the area as well! read more

I will say this and I am sad at the same time, do not, I repeat, do not buy any of the dim sum from 99 ranch market inside deli. Looks are deceiving. It is one of the worst dim sum experiences I've ever had. It's un edible so bad I think it's targeted to non humans, our furry friends would enjoy it. The food is from a box, sitting for hours, and you can taste it. The mapo tofu and the shrimp eggplant are the only 2 good dishes, everything else is garbage. The har gow, is more like hard to chew. No flavor. Shu mai is from a frozen box and heated up, no flavor. The tofu skin roll sucks, dry dry dry dry dry dry. I do like the shrimp and eggplant, very fresh eggplant and crispy shrimp. Ranch 99 is my go-to grocery store, and they proved again why I trust them. On November 13, 2025, I lost my iPhone in the parking lot and was extremely upset. The staff--especially Sophia, the manager, and Kevin--were incredibly helpful. A customer had found my phone under a tree and turned it in, and the team quickly verified it was mine and returned it. Their honesty, kindness, and willingness to help went far beyond their regular duties. I'm very grateful, and this experience only strengthens my appreciation for Ranch 99. I really love coming here. I love that they got everything I need when it comes to Asian products. I love their bakery section and the deli. I also love that because we live in Killeen, in the summer months we were able to get some ice to help with our drive back to Killeen. Also they have neighboring business that are well worth it to pay a visit. When I go 99 Ranch, I get to buy their Roast Duck. So plump and delicious. Nicely cook. The cashier, Fernanda R. (Based on the name on the receipt) was probably tired when it was our turn. She sort of threw (not exaggerating) our items from the basket to the conveyor. In a disrespectful way. She could have asked us to take the items out the basket if that wasn't allowed. I was a little scared that she would throw the basket to us. Then she asked if we need a bag, I said "Yes, please." She then threw the bag and it fell on the floor. As I was writing this, I'm assessing if I'm just being emotional bec somebody was disrespectful to me but my son confirmed it from his point of view. Glad we have an international market in Austin, but unlike the markets in areas with competition this one has pretty expensive and not expansive produce (ie don't expect to check off your entire grocery list) and their seafood section while large has a ton of fish (whole fish, or cleaned fish... no filets) from places that are not known for their fish or have known quality issues - like China. Literally tilapia and salmon from China. I struggled to find anything that was from a sustainable source and ultimately what I did get (Canadian salmon and Mexican grouper) was not fresh and had a weird musky taste. I won't be buying fresh seafood from here again. Again, grateful there is an international market option but this one doesn't live up to the standards of what I know from California or Northern Virginia. read more
