My daughers car needed a new engine (2007 Kia Spectra) and I needed right away so she can get to and from ASU. John and Tony both came in on a Saturday no less, and removed her old engine and installed one I had purchased online and had delivered to there Shop. That was 5 years ago and I have used them at every turn (seriously). We all know there are some small chain automotive shops out there that have a lot to be desired in the way of honesty so you never know if your getting the shaft! So you never know who to trust. Have had H&S work on all of my cars and trucks over the years. They check it out, let you know what is wrong, and send you a report and exact charges for approval. I highly recommend them to anyone needing professional work done on your vehicle. Minor repairs to major work, they can take care of it. I had them look at one of my trucks and John told me that the truck wasn't worth fixing. The problem was common with that model and it would never be a reliable vehicle. They did not have to do that and could have just fixed it and sent me on my way. They are honest. I had an oil leak in one of my trucks. Took it to them and they put it on the lift to check it out. Found it was the main seal. Truck was still under warranty. No charge. These are the kind of people I tell others about. read more

A couple years ago I bought a used VW Beetle from these guys. It was a 98 so of course everyone expects repairs. I took it in to the shop at the recommendation of Tony, a mechanic that works there. First he suggested a new set of tires which I had put on before Tony replaced the control arms for me. I purchased the control arms and was only charged labor to do so. About 3 months after the control arms were replaced the front end of my car was all over the place. I could barely keep it on the road. The new tires I put on were worn out. Come to find out, Tony left the caskets on the ball joints of the control arms. When confronted about this, Tony replied, I didn't do that. He was the only one that worked on that car and I certainly didn't place the caskets there that should of been removed before installing those arms. I replaced the tires and took the car to 2 different places to be aligned. Come to find out there is no room for alignment because before purchasing the car, Tony had to replace the steering and he put in the wrong steering for that particular model of a car. The steering works but there is no room for alignment. What a mickey mouse mechanic they have there! I do not recommend you take your car here for repairs and if you do make sure the mechanic that is working on your car is not Tony. Only an idiot would of left those caskets on before replacing the control arms. read more

This place is amazing! Great service. They make sure your car is working as it should and get it fixed quickly. They also provide rides, so you can leave your car there and they come pick you up. Was advised by a mechanic shops and dealer I needed a wiring harness and new battery. Brought my car to H&S from a friends referral. Tony assisted me with the car. Turns out it was not the wiring harness, nothing was wrong with the harness or battery. I actually needed a new starter. The cost was very reasonable as I did call around. Saved $100's and Tony is amazing I needed a fuel pump replacement and my friend referred me to John (saying they took great care of her car for the last 5 years, they are honest and they are cheaper than the others) and I could not be more happy with them. So, I inquired about the fuel pump replacement cost in a few places and John quoted me the least. Tony did my pump replacement, answered all my questions, addressed my concerns and seemed nice and very honest. The service is friendly and quick and they never try to up sell or fix something that isn't broken. Honest car mechanics are very hard to find, but finally I found John& Tony and now I am recommending them to all my friends. H&S Automotive is a single girls best friend! John has been taking care of my 2008 Chevy for about 2 years now. Just recently I was driving home and my check engine light came on and my truck limped home. Onstar towed it to John and here I sit with us both thinking the worst at $2k to fix. After minor surgery, my girl only had a bad valve spring. $300. I also had an exhaust leak, which I knew and needed sparks, wires, clean up the throttle body, oil change, and something else! All fixed for $800 and my truck is running better than when I bought it. Thank you John for always taking care of me. Anyone else would have just charged me $2k. John is honest, his labor rates are the least expensive and he will never try to fix things that aren't broken. read more

Our poor little Saturn has seen better days. The starter is an on going escapade for us. And probably will continue to be one. Our starter shit the bed. Again. This time we took it to H & S per a relatives recommendation. Glad we did. These guys were nice and straight forward. Life time warranty on the work done and they did an oil change for free. Its hard finding decent mechanics. We've been to Pep Boys, Whiteys in Scottsdale, and even GMC in Chandler. They've all raped our wallets and never gave us a decent answer. Found H & S Auto on Yelp and gave them a shot due to their positive reviews and location. Needed a diagnosis on my Dodge Ram. Dropped it off late afternoon and received a call back an hr later to tell me the news. Rear differential problems ( which they dont do but did refer me to another shop). Also tested my battery on my way out the door cuz I forgot about to ask earlier. Tested good but John tightened my cables which had given me problems before. No charge for any of it. My check engine light came on about a week ago and I had the oil changed and transmission flushed at a different garage. The people there were rude and then following that service my car began stalling when I came to a stop. I was directed to H&S by a tire store employee and could not be more grateful!! John and Mark are fantastic mechanics. They truly took care of my car and explained everything to me without treating me like I didn't know anything. Just recently moved to Phoenix and was worried about finding an honest, reliable and good mechanic. I am sure glad I found John and staff at H & S. I called and talked to John about a noise coming from the back rear tire on a 1999 Jeep Wrangler. The noise was happening inconsistently and I didn't know what it was. John got me scheduled in the same day and diagnose the problem quickly and showed me the issue. It was the brake return spring broke inside the drum. He made the recommendation and quoted a reasonable price. John completed the service and delivered the vehicle as agreed. He even provided transportation back to our home as work was being performed. Finding a reliable service center to get your car worked on can be a gamble. A gamble that can cost you lots of time, lots of money and a ton of aggravation. I have to let everyone know that my service center gambling is Finally Over! John and Marc and the whole team at H & S are AWESOME! I needed new drive shafts replaced in my front wheel drive Honda Accord since they were clicking on corners all the time. I decided to get away from the high pressure and high prices at the dealership and read some reviews on yelp. When I saw H&S Automotive I remembered that someone had mentioned this place to me almost a year ago. I called and made an appointment to have my car checked by John and Marc. They were so thorough with their inspection and took their time to explain and SHOW ME what the issue was. I was so impressed with their way of doing business that I decided to also get a 4 wheel brake job, oil change and new wipers replaced. I never felt so confident and well taken care of when my car was serviced as I did at H&S Automotive! Want to feel good when you get your car worked on?
