Simple and easy ordering setup with a kiosk as you walk in, with clear menu descriptions and lots of customizable options. Portions were very solid, they filled the to go box all the way to the top, which is pretty awesome... The meat was flavorful, and I got the red sauce on the side to test the spice level first, which was a smart move as I wasn't really a fan of their red sauce compare to some other gyro/kebab shops. Overall, it pretty much checks all the boxes for what you want from a good fast casual Mediterranean spot. Parking was easy since it's in an HEB plaza with a big shared lot. I came by for an early dinner, and it wasn't too busy at all. (In fact I was the only customer at 615pm ordering takeout) At $12.99 before tax and tip, I honestly think it's a better deal than Halal Guys in both portion and quality. Enormous portions of excellent food at a great price! I ordered pickup and the food was fresh and ready within 15 minutes. Everything was packed perfectly including the information we provided in the notes section. The Gyro Fries Platter was piping hot and crispy with a lot of fries. Out of all the gyro spots in town, I like the aromatic rice in the Combo Rice Platter and Gyro Rice Platter the most. Gyro here is diced in cubed chunks which keeps them very moist. The chicken is marinated well and has good flavor too. The salad portion is a little small though compared to the rest of the portions. I've ordered from here at least 10 times and the food has been pretty consistently good. I would definitely order here again and would highly recommend it. read more

Well, I was disappointed in my gyro. The pita was thin,dry & cracked. In fact, it was very much like cardboard. I enjoyed the fire sauce which gave it a kick. I admit that I recently had the best gyro in my life in a small town in east Texas. The pita there was light & fluffy. They served the meat in slices & the pita was stuffed. Gyro Hut cuts theirs in cubes which was very different. The meat was a weird consistency as well. I will try a local competition & edit my review if Gyro Hut is closer to the Houston competition. The white sauce was thin & not the thick yogurt like consistency as it generally is on others that I have had. I would say that the little restaurant inside the nearby Trotter YMCA makes a better gyro. On the plus, my order was ready pretty quickly & the service was friendly. There was a steady stream of people picking up to go orders including Middle Easterns. That is a good sign. My phone was dead so no photo. read more

We noticed Gyro Hut when they opened up and had been meaning to check it out. We finally swung by for a random lunch and had a so-so experience. We showed up at peak lunch and the place was empty, but it did seem like they must make most of their money off of delivery orders, because the uber eats and Doordash drivers were filing in and out constantly. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Our food was ready fairly quickly, and I can't remember anything great or terrible about the service. The menu reminds me a lot of Halal Guys. They offer both the gyros and platter combos, plus falafel and various loaded fries platters. They also had fresh squeezed juices like you would find at a health food store which was different. I ordered their lamb gyro rice platter. There wasn't a ton of meat and there seemed to be way too much sauce. The overall portion of the platter was large but it as mostly iceberg lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and rice. Would I come back for that or something else? Sure. Is it the best I've ever had? No. If I compared it to Halal Guys, I'd rather go to Halal Guys if that helps. I think 3 stars or "OK" is exactly where it landed. I'd probably return if in the immediate area and craving something specific, but I wouldn't say it's a place worth going out of your way to order from. Really happy I got to try Gyro Hut. I ordered through Lunch Drop which is a service similar to Uber Eats. I got the chicken and lamb combination over rice. It was absolutely delicious. The red sauce was not too spicy and their white sauce was on point. The meats were tender and fresh along with the rice. I am still not crowning the spot over Gyro King, but I'll need to try some of their other menu offerings. read more

I can eat the rice by itself! I got the chicken and lamb platter and the plate was full to the rim. The rice was so flavorful. The chicken and lamb was tender and cooked to perfection. somewhat disappointing! tried this new place for lunch on a Monday and was excited for a good gyro place near my office. ordered a lamb gyro sandwich, fries and a bottle of water - $20 later. overall the taste of the gyro sandwich was good - meat tasted good, good vegetables and sauce and pita was good. and it was quite plentiful! but I was rather disappointed that the meat was cut into chunks and not sliced off of the vertical rotisserie - which was completely bare of any meat! okay, so this was not as expected. the fries were plentiful and well-seasoned but it was clear they used half old fries (regular) and half fresh (crinkle cut.) it was clear because the crinkle cut fries were piping hot and the regular fries were stone cold!! told the woman working there and she acted surprised - despite being only one of two employees on duty! finally, as I left and threw away a good amount of food, the trash can was so full that I could barely get my stuff in - despite being open less than an hour!! do better guys; it's really not that hard! overall, a resounding "meh!" This is a casual order at the counter place. The gyro sandwich we had is good but the problem is it's mostly salad. There is a small portion of meat with 80% salad. We liked the "white sauce" as they call it instead of tahini. The meat is held in what appears to be a slow cooker. The staff pulls it out and layers it on the pita. I assume they have been instructed to skimp on the meat portion. read more

My girlfriend placed an order on DoorDash for our food and a juice. We waited 20 minutes as the given time was between 7-17 minutes. Once we arrived and asked for our order the attendant working said that his iPad system was down. I told him the the name, contents, and the fact it was only one order sitting packaged on the counter. He proceeded to say we needed to have the DoorDash order so we went BACK HOME to get the iPad we ordered off of for proof. After seeing the order he look at me in my face, and said the order wasn't made due to the the system being down and all of DoorDash orders didn't work so he never received it. We both asked for the purpose of telling him our order with details as well as driving back home to get proof of order all to say it was never made. I am disgusted with the service we received , attitude, lack of awareness, lack of accountability, lack of care, and lackluster . Both me and my girlfriend came home from work late and wanted something closest to mindful hot meal as possible. We made this order knowing that we could possibly not have any better options that would be open to serve fresh hot food that wasn't "fast". Now we have not eaten all day, money is gone/waiting for it to be refunded, and a very bad taste in our mouths from this... "employee". Will never come back to this establishment. No wonder yall were empty and only one other order walked in after we came back with dash receipt. And if... if that was indeed our paid for order sitting in the counter and you decided to lie about it... trust karma has it out for many this year. It may seem a lot for ordered food but it's not when it was so simple to tell us what we needed to know instead of having a customer jump through hoops for an order you supposedly don't have made. The chicken used in the chicken sandwiches and probably other dishes is 100% canned chicken. It was so disgusting. I had to throw out the food. The meat on most of the dishes is very minimal. I do not recommend. I was thinking I would get traditional food and was greatly disappointed! read more
