Buffet Hodgepodge
Jando S.

While it's not my favorite Dimassi's by any stretch, it's a perfect acceptable given its central location in the Galleria. It might not actually be the smallest location, but it certainly feels that way upon entering. Everything seems limited here, from the buffet to the items on there. The parking situation is ideal since it's part of massive shared lot and Dimassi's sits right at the corner. A few operational things that irk me a bit is that the buffet items aren't replenished quickly and dirty plates are often left around the place even when the rush is over. It's not a deal breaker, but it is an eye sore. The buffet selection is not vast, but there are some standout items. The salt and pepper cauliflower is always a hit and the freshly made zaatar is a treat. The chunks of lamb gyro taste better than they look and the baked chicken isn't the bomb version like at the Med Center. I don't love the salad selection so much and the desserts are somewhat limited. Still, there's enough here that I'd consider this a Dimassi's in a pinch. Service is super nice, but they're just a tad slow. The bathrooms is totally not nice, but it'll suffice. I think solo lunches and small groups would thrive here and it is going to be an ideal place to grub for a quick meal with decent variety and prices.

Di-mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmassi! Yum! Yum! Yum! Parking: It's in a shopping center with a substantial parking lot; however, there are a ton of businesses and its in walking distance from NRG. Just know that you will get a parking spot. May not be as close as you want, but you will get one. Cleanliness: They provide sanitizer and disposable gloves for you to use! I love love love that idea! So genius! I didn't see the same thing at the dessert station, so that is a recommendation there. This is a rather clean buffet in that the staff cleans the tables frequently. They even come by to get dirty plates and other trash off of table. Staff: The staff was super friendly. They were nice and polite. The Food: The food was great! The salads were fresh and the chicken curry was delish. I will say I was taken back by the Rose Water. It was yummy as well. In essence, this restaurant gets a thumbs up. I'll be back! Check in early and get a coupon from Yelp!

Nice buffet I love that it's self serve buffet style. One price it was $45 for 2 people. Hummus - garlic, spicy, plain Pitas Salads - kale, chickpea, cucumber, etc Fried cauliflower Grilled zucchini, carrots, tomatoes Tilapia Fried chicken Steamed spinach Cold potatoes with red pepper & parsley Chicken and rice 3 different chicken flavors All in all a cool buffet. If you have a few hours to relax and eat at your own pace the price is worth it. Good food, pretty standard tastes. Enjoy

For the price, you really can't beat it especially if you get the lamb shanks. Lots of parking space and the workers are quick at re-filling food, cleaning the tables and taking away your plates. Also not too loud or quiet. There is so much variety of side dishes, salads and main dishes. The quality of the food is better than expected for a buffet (small note: the regular hummus is more on the bland side but the other hummuses are pretty good). I have to come here multiple times just to try everything. I frequently come here and wish they expanded outside Texas. Definitely a must visit.

Beef (Kefta) Wrap to-go. Delicious!

I was in Houston for about five days and stayed in the Uptown/Galleria district. Using Yelp to find and bookmark the sorts of places I normally frequent in California, I discovered this restaurant was conveniently located in the same shopping center on Richmond as TJ Maxx (slippers purchased), a good Pet shop (toys for kitty), Specs Liquor etc, and a future expansion Smashburger. This Middle Eastern restaurant differs from most because of the buffet option, which at lunchtime has an excellent price. The food looks great, no doubt about that, but I was most interested in a wrap sandwich and inquired about that. They have chicken kabob, beef kafta, gyro, and falafel. Rolling backwards momentarily, I had refused to give a guy, probably an addict, cash outside, but I often test motivation by offering food, if indeed that's what the person really wants. I can afford to be charitable periodically and he took up my offer to buy a sandwich, he chose chicken, and I picked beef. The nice girl at the counter mentioned they had a spicy option, so we both said that sounded great. Admittedly, I was trying to distance myself from the dude, and the girl understood that I was being nice to a degree, even when he asked her for a drink cup. She gave me one too and smiled. Anyhow, I left the restaurant and ate my sandwich across the street but it was so good! The meat was cooked well, and the spicy sauce added an extra dimension. I returned a couple days later to try a chicken wrap, also spicy. While very good I preferred the beef. I wasn't hungry enough to go for the buffet, but maybe next time? They also have locations in California, so who knows where or when. Regardless, I like the looks of the buffet.

All star all you can eat buffet totally worth the $16.99 especially if you eat veg and non veg food. There are limitless options and I dare you to try them all! So many salads, hummus, baba ghani yah, falafel, baked potatoes and veggies, zatar pita bread, pizza were just among the veg food I tried. Spicy hummus and zatar bread were my favorite. Plenty of desserts to choose from, and of course including baklava which was delicious! I bet you will leave here with your stomach so full and a feeling of great satisfaction.

Pinch of sumac which was available on each table was a perfect addition to our dishes. Highly recommend hot Persian tea. Pricing: $$ - very affordable for the quality and quantity of foods received.

However, we were charged for it at the end. I understand the charge itself, but no one at the table had ordered it; they just set it on the table. It would have been nice if the staff had made it clear or asked if we wanted to add it to our meal. Perhaps there was a mix up with another table. Our experience was otherwise great, but double check the menu for what is complimentary and what isn't.

My recent visits here consisted of a Gyros Plate with rice, Hamburger with uncut tomatoes n pickles…read more& lemon potatoes and Greek Spaghetti Meat Sauce on Sunday Special. All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

The place is new but not recently new, so I was impress that they were still attracting a crowd. The place was packed and busy but the host was still able to seat us immediately. With reservation, of course. Our seat was a banquet seating and when the host directed us to our table, we notice the party seated next to our table had placed all their personal belongings on our seats. We had to ask the host to ask them to remove their personals so that we can sit down. I felt that the host should have done that and not upon our request. Our server was Keamogetswe and she jumped right into explaining the menu since it was our first time. I am used to ordering drinks first and while waiting for our drinks, explore the food menu. That way, we can ask questions about any item we were unfamiliar with on the menu. Anyways, we ordered our food and they came out very fast. For starters, we had the grilled shrimp which was just two shrimps. They were not prawns so the size of the two shrimps for $18 was not worth it to me. We also tried the Rumi's wings. They were average to me. Nothing to brag about. For the main course, we wanted to try several dishes and settle for a family style meal. We had the braised lamb shank, chicken kabob and the Koobideh Kabob. Since all plates came with rice, Keamogetswe suggest we try different rice options which was a great suggestion. So for the rice, we had the Adas, the Baghali and the Shirin. I have to admit that the braised lamb was amazing. The stew it sat in was very flavorful and the meat melted off the bone it came with. The Koobideh was also another favorite of mine. Both, I highly recommend everyone to try. And my favorite rice was the Shirin. As we moved on to dessert, we had the burnt honey & pistachio cake and the persian ice cream sandwich. Both taste great but the persian ice cream sandwich itself was vanilla wafer. Different but it made it easier to eat with your fingers. The weird thing was when the dessert was served to us, so was the check. I am used to us eating dessert or just starting to enjoy dessert before being handed the check. And when they do hand me the check, they would mention that it was no rush and when I am ready to take care of it. But that didn't happen and I decided to get it out of the way so I can just enjoy the dessert. As we were conversing and finishing our drinks, they started to clear our table and even picked up the signed check or tab. It felt like they were hinting us to get up. I feel that if there was a time frame to dine with them, they should have made us aware of it before dinner or when we made reservation like how Toca Madera does. So that made me feel uncomfortable. But this could just be me.
