Half of chicken shwarma wrap with saffron rice

The Kebab Shop (TKS) is my new favorite lunch spot! I would definitely eat there for dinner, but it is more convenient for lunch for me. This was my second visit. First time I tried the sirloin wrap, it's huge and best to share! This visit I ordered the chicken schwarma and asked them to split the wrap into two. Also got a order of crave fries. Everything was delicious! I love their OJ sauce, the jalepeno cilantro sauce, and liked the dill yogurt. Dill yogurt was more watery than the others. The sauces are ready for self-serve which is nice so you don't have to go ask for more sauce in between bites! TKS is located by Whole Foods on Bellaire Blvd at Weslayan. It's a busy parking lot during the lunch hour, but easy to find a parking spot. The staff has been nice and the manager answered all of our questions! The music is energetic and they have music playlists on spotify.

The fire chili sauce that exploded on me. They quickly and quietly cleaned up the mess while I was speaking to the supervisor.

This is a case of a place where the food may be excellent, but the lackluster service and lack of interest from the employees can really take the entire experience down a notch. I've been here three times, twice for dine in on lunch breaks and once for take out. The dine in experiences were okay. It takes forever for someone to come up and take your order because they clearly want you to use the little tablet device, which isn't the best customer service experience. The food is also much slower to prepare than at similar places like Gyro Republic despite little discernable difference between the preparation methods. In fact, GR is faster than TKS despite having more modification options. The food, however, is solid. I do recommend the grains bowl, with starts with a base of either saffron or brown rice and you build from there, kind of like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. I had planned on giving this place 3 stars until my last visit, which was take out. I was grabbing sauces and their Fire sauce just exploded when I pressed the button, splattering all over my dress shirt, suit pants, hands, and a bit of it got on my face as well. I walked over to talk to the guy at the register. He panicked and ran to get someone else. The lady who came out issued an apology in a tone that sounded like "You already placed your order so I couldn't care less." She half heartedly offered to do something to help. I suggested a discount either on this meal or a future meal to make up for the extra trip and cost I'd have to make to the dry cleaner for patronizing her business. Even just $5. She declined, telling me that it would need to go up to her "regional manager" for that to happen. I asked what she could do. She claimed nothing. I pointed out that she had just offered to do something to make things right, then claimed she couldn't do anything. She offered to comp me a drink or a brownie, neither of which I wanted nor could I use to compensate a dry cleaner. I accepted the brownie and walked out because from her demeanor, it was apparent that they were not going to contact the district manager.

This location is really not the best in my opinion. It s hard to find parking and while the staff was friendly, it wasn't that clean. I got the kebab wrap and I was shocked that it was $20 without a side of fries. The wrap itself was okay. I wish the toppings were better distributed throughout the wrap so that you can get everything in the same bite. I might try the company again but not this location.

One of the offerings at The Kebab Shop is what is called a protein bowl, which has 47 g of protein and 450 cal (so it is designed for a 2000 cal per day diet). As we all know if you take in less calories then you burn, overtime, you will probably lose weight. So the protein bowl appears to be a very good option for anyone. It is a build your own kind of walk in fast casual place. I opted for the salad bowl with the carved llamb/beef (done dōner kebab style on a vertical spit). With all the toppings. Although the price point, if you go full Monty, might result in a $19 lunch, I was impressed by the quality of the lunch. And I could absolutely get at least two meals, maybe even 3. I REALLY liked this salad bowl option.

Interesting place and concept. You can either order a bowl a wrap or a plate. They have lamb, chicken, and falafel. There's a choice of pre made flavors or you can build your own. I ordered a pre determined ingredient bowl. Positives they are large in size. How of the ever. It tasted just okay. There is a side area that offers condiments to dress your food entree with. The bowl was just okay. There was a bitter taste to it and the falafel was kind of dry. It was not my fave bowl experience. But I might try them again to try oit a wrap perhaps.

Thankfully it wasn't super busy when I went in. Sahar, who was at the register, helped me with any questions I had and even gave me some suggestions on what to put for my toppings! The bowl was SO good, as I was able to do half grains & half salad bowl with the kofta and whatever toppings I wanted. I love how tasty it is without feeling heavy. So grateful to have had this opportunity to experience this place again.

I've had this place bookmarked for a while now, especially since I missed the Elite Week back in November while I was out of the country. Jillian C. and I decided to check this out for a weekday lunch. They had a steady flow of people coming in during the lunch hour which kept the atmosphere busy; while not crowded, we were also not the only ones dining in thankfully. I had trouble finding the Yelp listing to check in because apparently they've rebranded themselves from "The Kebab Shop" to now "TKS Mediterranean." Not sure when or why that happened. The menu is straightforward to navigate. You can choose between a wrap, a bowl, or a plate. I ordered the original bowl ($12.70) with carved lamb beef ($1.90 extra) as the protein and saffron rice and fries (pick up to 2) as the base. The bowl comes with their OG yogurt sauce, red cabbage slaw, romaine lettuce, pickled onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. The bowl itself was really tasty and the portion was generous. So generous that it was flowing out of the bowl and as I stirred it around, bits were falling out. I do wish they had a slightly bigger bowl to avoid this, but maybe they're going for the visual satisfaction of an overflowing bowl. The staff at the counter was very friendly and offered to explain the menu to us with this being our first time in. They have a counter of self-serve sauces: OG yogurt, fire chili, and cilantro jalapeno. I took a small cup of each and taste-tested them - my favorite was the cilantro jalapeño hands down! Unfortunately the sauce dispenser for this one wasn't working right. I let the staff know and they immediately brought us a bunch of prepackaged cups of this sauce. Win! I will say the $12.70 pricing on the bowls is slightly misleading, since only the carved chicken and falafel come out to that price; all the other protein options are extra. Kids also eat free on Saturdays and Sundays! Not common to see a deal like that on the weekends. I'll be back to try their wraps and plates, as this is a really good fast casual concept that's a good addition to the Bellaire area.

Food is delicious and staff is very informative. Service is great and they mentioned all their specials even Elite Yelp event. I didn't realize that I would be in town for this event. Plenty of parking available and dog friendly on the patio. Dipping are fiesta and only a true spicy fans would go for seconds. We went for seconds. Atmosphere is relaxing even with people stopping by for for the meals. There is a grocery store, nail salon, and even a clothing boutique store. Even bumped into some of Elite Yelp peeps! Look forward to next time.

Meh. Slimy lettuce in the Greek salad and overall mediocre food. Seems super overrated because there are so many better nearby spots and for more affordable prices. Will not return

Yoooo easily beating other similar restaurants out the door. Honestly the portion sizing for protein in my Saffron Beef Kofta bowl was impressive! I felt like I had a proper portion that went well with everything put together. I also got the hummus and pita, and the manager/owner was so kind to offer some falafel and fries w/ feta and pickled onions to try. Delicious! I was blown away at how not dripping of liquid (i seem to get runny dishes over at Cava alot somehow). The sauces at the sauce bar really stood out for me. They each had really unique flavors and was sooooooo rich. A little goes a super long way. I tend to avoid falafel in alot of places since i find them to be made super dry... but here? Man it felt like love was poured into them. The hummus portion was yuuuuge! Tho i have to admit, I should have ordered an extra pita bread cause the portion was a lot. I did wish that some olive oil was poured into the hummus but im not gonna complain, it was really flavorful. Service was super fast, food was extremely delicious, portion sizing is great for the cost, staff are extremely kind and patient. Def adding to my favorites list. I'll be back sooner than later

Food - the lamb was tasty, the wrap was great and the fries were perfectly crispy. No complaints about the food. Location - It was clean and the staff were friendly. 2 stars you may ask? Well let's start with the fact that I ordered lamb ( which is an up charge ) but instead I got a salad sandwich/wrap. I asked for just a lil bit of lettuce, none of the extra veggies but that was not the case. I've never had a gyro/sandwich/wrap w.e it may be called with such little meat before in my life. Not to mention this came out to 47 dollars for two wraps, 2 fountain drinks and a side of fries. I was very hyped about trying this and I left there very disappointed. It's the 1st place I've eaten since moving to Texas where they are skimpy with their food. No lie, most places out here load up their dishes, regardless of what you get. I can't imagine a family going out to eat here and their pockets not hurting, I mean if you rich than you got it but for anyone else, be mindful. It has potential but it was not worth the 45 minute drive or the amount of money it came out too. It's a shame, I really wanted to give this spot a good review but this was my honest opinion on how my food experience was today.

It was kismet coming here. My friend was checking a home to possibly rent nearby, and just before we went we stopped by Whole Foods which is in the same lot. He had a craving for a gyro, so I started looking up places on Yelp. While at the parking lot, I looked to my left and saw The Kebab Shop. I decided to look them up and realized this was the exact same place I wanted to try because there was going to be a Yelp Elite Experience here. So after we looked at the house and Evelyn's Park nearby, we came back for dinner. I like the extra parking since it's in the same shopping center as Whole Foods. It wasn't busy inside, but a few more customers came in after us to either dine in or order takeout. There's plenty of seating outside and inside. Luis took our order and was very helpful and attentive. And a nice lady with pinkish red hair. The whole crew that was there Tuesday night (10/22) was so nice. 100% on customer service. We felt so welcome throughout. Restrooms are gender neutral and clean. Hand driers to save trees. There's bottled beverages where you order, but you can also get a fountain drink. There's plenty of options for a wrap or bowl. Lots of fillings/sides to choose from. The ingredients tasted fresh. There are 3 homemade sauces - OG (garlic yogurt), fire chili, and cilantro jalapeño. My wrap came with the OG yogurt, but I appreciate the extra sauce pumps and cups with lids (for takeout). I'm a fan of Coca Cola products, so I'm happy the fountain drinks are that. I got a Coke. The water that's mixed in with the syrup isn't as tasty though. Tasted like tap. I enjoyed my falafel wrap. Their wraps are like a foot long sandwich. At first I thought that there weren't enough falafels when I took my first bite, but that was because it slid down. The wraps are wrapped like a handheld with the foil at the bottom, which is nice to eat. The wrap is thin but so good. I like the charred edges. The whole wrap was filling. I was satisfied. I ordered a side of fries but thought that was mediocre. I was expecting fat fries than the shoestring. It also isn't seasoned. I'm used to most Mediterranean places having a garlic salt paprika seasoning or something. I think that would elevate it, esp when you can add fries as an added topping in your wrap. We would definitely come back here. I'd like to try their bowl and either lamb or beef next time. You can also earn rewards for items ordered - just need to add your phone number.

Thankfully, my friend had called ahead and asked for a table as we were rolling about 7 folks deep, and we were seated instantly. The place is pretty nondescript located in the same shopping strip as a gas station. They serve your standard Greek fare, but they also get creative and serve things a different way. For instance, we ordered the Greek fajitas, which was pieces of gyro meat with bell peppers, and onions served on a hot sizzling plate. It was very similar to going somewhere and ordering a Gyro plate, but I appreciated the way it was served. The meat was tender and so well seasoned. In my opinion it's hard to get Gyros right, it's easy to dry it out, and often it's too salty. That's not the case here! Around the table people ordered a slew of diverse dishes, and the clear winner was the lamb shank! Next time we go we're getting that. The person who owns this place is incredibly sweet, there was a birthday party at the table next to us, and she came by to us, introduced herself, and explained that when they drop plates to celebrate we are to join in, and yell Opa! Love that some places still do this, it's a cute tradition! Can't wait to go through more of the menu and try again, next time I'm up for a trek!

All 3 meals were really flavorful, good quality, really well-seasoned, very juicy and so delicious. The gyros and burger are without question imo the best in TX. Ekko's and Nick The Greek are 2nd n 3rd for Greek food for me. I always got the gyros sandwich as opposed to the plate before which is odd bc I always prefer meat plates over sandwich form in other foods like bbq, steak, etc. The meat pieces were all really tasty and had some slight char to them too. The taziki sauce is always cold, creamy in feel and refreshing with a good yogurt aroma to it. It's a great bonus and the gyros didn't even need it tbh. The tomatoes were nicely refreshing and the exotic, cool center dolma is always a little treat with meals here. The rice and chunky lemon potatoes with my meals were always mild but still great in texture and prep. As I said before; from my experiences in every single Greek cafe, if the taziki sauce is good, the gyros will be too. It's a solid symptom and indicator imo. As for the burger, very rarely are burger places only in TX actually any good for the past 15 years. So many are just average or below lacking seasoning or a great overall flavor. Niko Niko's, Goode Company Hamburgers and TX Hamburger Palace are my top 3 in that order for it. Each different too. The brioche buns were just the right thickness and very soft to make the beef patty stick out well. The patty was so nice in charbroiled taste, saltiness, richness, beefiness and tender in every bite. A good burger doesn't need much in toppings, but cool, refreshing, tomatoes are a must for me and pickles add some tangy crunch too. For steak rare, but for a burger medium to medium rare. I had never seen or heard of their Greek Spaghetti n Meat Sauce before. This was like a Greek Bolognese with a lot of love in its flavor. The noodles were drained, very moist and so soft. I don't like too much cheese, so I took some off, but still like some. The meat sauce gravy itself was really flavorful, savory, fatty enough and had that subtle sweet, warm spice aroma you get in the Greek lasagna. I like to get dessert here sometimes when I have extra room, bc they have some great options like their galaktobourreko, chocolate ganache cake, etc. The service was very welcoming, friendly and efficient on these visits.

It was a nice vibe that made the place visually appealing and date friendly. The brick walls, nice decor pieces, and ultra clean bathrooms were a big thumbs up. But vibes can't save poorly executed food. The octopus was dry and overcooked, the potato croquettes were a bit disappointing, as was, the trio of of dips. The souvlaki was supposed to be their most popular dish, but after trying their ribeye, pork, and chicken, it was simply too bland and not up to par. The gyro platters did not fare much better and the lamb chops were under seasoned. The lemon potatoes needed way more lemon but the only dish that was acceptable was the spanakopita (aka spinach pie). It was all overpriced, especially given the modest portions. Service was often aloof or nowhere to be found. When the nice woman butchered souvlaki and spanakopita, my gut was already in cringe. At least there was discount for cash. While I am saddened by their departure, I take comfort in knowing there are better options available in the city.

It had great Persian vibe including music played. Food and drinks: Very good selection of traditional dishes that were not westernised as in other Persian restaurants. The food was fresh, well seasoned and was full of flavours. The meats were moist, salad and starter tasted fresh. Pinch of sumac which was available on each table was a perfect addition to our dishes. Highly recommend hot Persian tea. Pricing: $$ - very affordable for the quality and quantity of foods received.

However, we were charged for it at the end. I understand the charge itself, but no one at the table had ordered it; they just set it on the table. It would have been nice if the staff had made it clear or asked if we wanted to add it to our meal. Perhaps there was a mix up with another table. Our experience was otherwise great, but double check the menu for what is complimentary and what isn't.
