I've been a long time customer of gyro corner for many years. I have always enjoyed the food dining in but the food has alway been a hit or miss with delivery. There is absolutely no consistency when it comes to delivery and the food can either be amazing or somewhat disappointing. Unfortunately the quality has gone done hill recently I'm not sure if ownership has changed or the chefs are just not doing it right. The portions of food have also decreased which seems a bit strange. My girlfriend almost always orders zucchini sticks and they're usually tasty (probably frozen) but the last two times they were disgusting (look at the picture). If I had dined in, I'm more than sure this would not have been served to us but since it was delivery it was carelessly put in a bag to be delivered anyway. I called the restaurant and the girl who answers the phone says, "I'll let them know" and thats it! Last time I'm ordering from this sh*thole. read more

I used to frequent this Gyro place on "Franny Lew" when I used to work at the 111th precinct. Delicious gyro's piled up high with everything on it! It's impossible to eat it on the run or in the car. It's impossible to eat it without the tsatziki sauce spilling out the side or the tomatoes, onions, or slices of lamb oozing out each end! It is definitely one of the most messiest meals around! But if you can get over the gamey taste of Lamb meat, it's a tremendous meal guaranteed to fill you up! Our order to go of 4 gyros and two sides of fries was $39. Parking is a pickle, I didn't get extra sauce on the side as I asked, nothing was rung in on the register, no receipt, no real bill, dude was like....uuuh...gimme $39! Well, it is Queens NYC whaddayagunnado? That part of it cost them 5 stars! I used to order from Gyro Corner while at work all the time. Today, my Sunday work day was going to be longer than usual so I decided to order from here. Ordered on Grubhub. Never had a problem. Until today. Ordered two chicken sticks with a side of Caesar dressing. Lemon potatoes and mozzarella sticks. It came within an hour or so. I opened the bag, I had my sauce for mozzarella sticks. And two containers with some oily yellow like sauce or dressing. All of the foil and the cardboard boat type things the chicken comes in was soaked in oil. Inside and out. same with the mozzarella sticks. I had no pita bread, which the sticks are supposed to come with. And the bottom of the lemon potatoes container was swimming in oil. I was so disappointed. I called up Gyro Corner. Explained my issues. She said they "changed" their Caesar dressing and this is how it is now. It tasted like straight vinegar. She apologized for the lack of pita and the grease all over the place. And said all she can do is give me a credit of lemon potatoes and two pitas. As if I didn't want my pita with my food today. And what exactly can they tell me about the grease that is now on my pants because I tried to take my food out of the bag when it got here? Nothing. What a joke. read more

Ok, I'm biased here because as a Korean kid growing up in a predominantly Asian neighborhood but with some Greek neighbors, my sister who was friends with them introduced me to the deliciousness that is all things Greek food. Saying that, Gyro Corner was my place to order Greek food on a Saturday night, after getting permission from my parents at the age of 12. Fast forward about a couple of decades later, besides feeling old as hell saying that, and I still order from here. Same people, same food, same quality. Friggin love this place. I'll admit though, when I first physically walked into this place around my late 20's, it was nothing like I imagined. For some reason, I thought it was way bigger and fancy, but when I saw how small and no frills it was, it made me somehow like Gyro Corner even more. Even all those times when they screwed up my order, missing items, spilling it all over, etc., it still doesn't deter me because the food still tastes great. I've ordered twice from here through Grubhub. The first time everything was great. Their spinach pie and baclava are fabulous. Second time, there was a thick hair that I'm not even sure if it was human on the bottom of the spinach pie. Totally grossed out! We also ordered a Greek burger and instead of the lettuce, tomato and feta being inside the wrap, they were outside and the feta was there huge pieces that had to be cut or crumbled to actually add to the wrap. Of course, no matter how good the food might taste, no way I'll order again with the chance of getting what looked like a rat hair in my food. read more

Got delivery in Bayside on a Friday night. Took a little while to arrive but the food was very good once it did arrive. Portions are huge! Gyro meat is well spiced and the pita is fresh. They give chunks of feta instead of crumbles which is always a good thing. read more

I had to call three times to ask when is my food coming even giving them over an hour to send it out when I only live a mile away. Well after loving this place for years I have to agree and should have listened to the recent reviews. Took in dinner for 6 people, basically everything was terrible. The pork gyro was just fat, the lamb chops were gristle, pork chops cooked to within an inch of their life. The only good thing was the salad which I asked for with no onions and they all came with onions. It's a shame. I love Greek food. I've had this place a million times. They never mess up an order. My favorite order is the falafel sandwich with feta. The feta cheese they use is insane. Very good tzatziki too! The falafel is never dry like most places. I use to order the lamb gyro or the chicken souvlaki, but the falafel is just so good. I also love the Greek salad there. The reasoning for 4 stars instead of 5, I feel the service could be friendlier and sometimes the food takes longer than expected when you dine in. Delivery is almost always 45 minutes. When you get delivery, though, the food is never soggy or old. It always tastes fresh. read more

Gyro Corner was our go to place for years for great platters of gyro, chicken, and wonderful green salad. 2 weeks ago we ordered our usual platters only to find that they had substituted the usual beautiful green salad with pale white iceberg lettuce. Yuck. We thought it was just a one off bad night so we ordered again tonight only to receive the same awful iceberg lettuce salad. So, twice disappointed in our dinner, now its bye bye Gyro Corner. We always looked forward to our meal here after a long workweek but we won't be wasting our money here again. Really too bad because the food used to be fantastic. WOWWAWEEWA! This place is truly amazing. I have been living in Whitestone since 2010 and have been ordering from this place since then and it is always consistent! Many people hate on this place but their reviews are worthless like their opinions. Just kidding. They must have really had some bad experiences. I, on the other hand, never did. Ok so I had their gyro many times prior to 3 days ago. I def thought this place had 1 of the best gyros around. Immediately following eating the gyro I became extremely gassy and had some minor stomach issues. That night 2am it started. Violent stomach aches and explosive diarrhea.
