I live in the Lockport area and had been looking for a solid specialty coffee shop that wasn't a drive to Buffalo. Found Gypsy Kitchen on Transit Road, I mean to make a habit of going there often from here on out. The coffee is legit. They clearly know what they're doing with espresso. Also grabbed a bite to eat -- food is fresh, not an afterthought. The space is comfortable without being pretentious. Good seating, good light, not loud. I've worked remotely from here, met up with people, and just sat solo -- all work. Free wifi, easy parking, the whole thing. Open Tuesday through Saturday which works fine for me. Staff is friendly every single time, remembers regulars, doesn't rush you out. If you're in Lockport, Niagara Falls, or anywhere in WNY and searching for a local coffee shop that's actually worth it -- this is the answer. Not a chain, not a compromise. Just really good coffee in a spot that feels like it belongs to the neighborhood. One of the better finds in Western New York honestly. read more

We were excited to try this cute place on our way out to hike in Lockport. This restaurant is in a little plaza. You walk in and you are transformed into an adorable little coffee shop/cafe! The decor is super unique, they have different areas with different decorations. I wish I would have gotten more pictures. They have a bakery case, multiple options. They have loose leaf tea as well as espresso drinks. I really liked the coffee options. We split a sandwich and got the bean side. Very good. Clean individual bathrooms. Plenty of parking and seating. Kind service. read more

Gypsy Kitchen just hosted their first Supper Club in their event space and it was wonderful! The setting, the service and the food were all great! My beau and I had a date night at their Summer Supper Club and it was delightful! We were greeted with a non-alcoholic welcome beverage, followed by soup (gazpacho) and salad (whipped feta & plum) served individually, a family style main course (chipotle BBQ chicken thighs, creamed corn & house pickles) and a superb dessert (ginger peach shortcake with fresh vanilla bean whipped cream). I came in here with my dad, not really sure what to expect. What I got was an incredibly sweet experience! From the moment you walk in, the decor and ambiance is refined and lovely. The tea cup chandelier is probably the best part, though I did love the velvet plush chair I sat on. My dad and I both got coffee, him ordering a regular hot coffee while I got an iced chai. It tasted divine and was cinnamon forward, which made me feel warm inside despite the ice. The people who work here are personable and knowledgeable. The two women who served us were both sweet and considerate. I talked with them a little bit about how long the place has been open and et cetera. There was also a group of older women there who were so cute and kind, so even the clientele is lovely. I was surprised by how homey this place felt, like a room in my own home. I'm not sure why people are giving this place 5 stars... it gets a star for ambiance, which was cute inside. I got a hot chocolate, which was also good so second star. Then comes the bad... the breakfast biscuit was on par with a gas station sandwich... it was microwaved, the egg was disgusting, an egg patty, definitely not using real eggs and used a microwave oven to heat up the egg and sandwich. I was in shock when the woman who took my order, but pre-cooked bacon on the biscuit while the egg was warming up then tossed it all in. I can't believe a cafe would offer breakfast sandwiches and not make them fresh, maybe the other ones in western New York are unique but this is a first... I'd rather go to Crosby's to get a breakfast sandwich. I hope they get a kitchen and eventually use real eggs and a better biscuit, till then they are not a place I'd ever go for breakfast food. read more

Walked in and immediately see old church pews as seating along the one wall and thought that was really cool. There's several different spots for seating going from traditional tables to cozy couch areas. I ordered from the specials menu that day and the latte and breakfast burrito were both super yummy and flavorful. I'll definitely be going here again! read more

Food was good, Sammy could have been on more substantial bread. Excellent Latte!!!! Service was very friendly. Cute place, but lose the fluorescent lighting. It takes all the ambience away and turns the cute charm into feeling like a diner. It's amazing what difference lighting makes. For this reason, I'll come back giving it another visual chance. Im excited this restaurant opened five minutes from my house. The food is delicious and a lot more health conscious than most restaurants in the area. The cafe is very cute and clean inside. My favorite coffee spot in WNY! The quaint, vintage aesthetic is cozy and welcoming with the friendliest staff! They have a variety of seating available, from bar stools, to couches, and table seating with comfier chairs. They also have a couple Adirondack chairs out front for warmer days. Every Saturday they offer a featured latte different from the last which will keep you coming back on its own with their fun flavors! They also offer a seasonal rotation of coffee beverages, with something for everyone! Just want a classic coffee? They have that too. And you can customize your drink with dairy free milk or from their variety of flavor options in both syrups and oils! Now for the food! If you can't tell from the photos I am a big fan of the yogurt bowls offered on Saturdays! Each week offers a new fresh in-season flavor! My husband has enjoyed the Saturday toast offerings as well. Everything I have had from Gypsy has been absolutely incredible: muffins, salad or grain bowls, overnight oats, and my favorite: galettes! There are usually at least two galette flavors in rotation: one savory and one sweet. I've enjoyed them so much I decided to pre-order one for Thanksgiving! What a lovely addition to Lockport!! Went in on May 4th for the first time and ordered some food for carryout. Was not disappointed. I ordered a cappuccino and it was perfect! My sister had an ice chai tea and it was fantastic! Really impressed with the service as the Baristas where lovely and patient. I had a breakfast burrito off the specials board and it was excellent! My husband and I LOVED our experience at Gypsy Kitchen! We got the Steak Benny (steak eggs Benedict!), Bacon Toffee Scone, Bacon Maple Black Pepper Latte, and a Tea Latte. Everything was just completely delicious until the very last bite (and sip). Madison, the owner, was working the espresso bar and very evidently loves her business and her customers. Missy, in the kitchen, puts out the most amazing food! And Savannah, at the POV, was so sweet and friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is so chill and laid-back - the type of place that makes you want to sit and stay a while. The drive from Tonawanda was definitely worth it (and might have to become a regular trip!).
