It was finally weather for a bike ride. With 2 friends we rode our bicycles to Lockport and had coffee and a bagel at B&D's Bagels and Locks. There is a wide variety of bagels to pick from, after that you pick your schmear. I went for the cheddar bagel with a hot cherry pimento cream cheese. Wonderful. The bagel is very good with a nice topping of cheddar and the schmear was really, really good. It had little spicy pieces in it, so every bit was a surprise. Sometimes creamy, sometimes with a little kick. I guess we found a great stop for our longer bike rides. Almost forgot: they make a great cappuccino too with a nice and foamy top. I liked seeing all the co-op items in B&D's... It's great for local small businesses to support each other and work together! There were items ranging from honey & candies to jewelry & clothing. A good place to find a unique gift... Maybe for your Valentine. The shop is clean and organized. Service was friendly. There wasn't much of a bagel selection when I visited (around 730am on a Monday), so unsure if options have been cut back or just lesser on certain days of the week. I opted for the Annabel (2 eggs, pepper jack, spinach, tomato and chipotle mayo) on an everything bagel. It came to just under $10, which I found to be a bit expensive for a sandwich without any meat on it. It did taste good and the bagel was nice & fresh as they always have been when I have visited. The bagels are so good. The options of bagels and topping is so much fun. They have massive amounts of cream cheese piled up that is so good. If you like a lot of cream cheese this is the place to go. Which I love cream cheese. The. Service is fast and very nice. Had a tomato bagel with bacon and cheese and a jalapeño bagel -- both fresh, flavorful, and perfectly toasted. The iced caramel macchiato with cashew milk was smooth and delicious, and the hot coffee was strong and satisfying. Fast service and friendly staff. Will definitely be back! read more

Having found out the hard way that matches can get too damp to light your camping store even if it's not actually raining during a recent bike packing trip I was in need of a breakfast better than a protein bar. After finding that the local, excellent, coffee shop didn't have egg sandwiches I found B&D's via Yelp and walked over. The vibe is the antithesis of "corporate," but it was absolutely homey and authentic. Several customers were obviously regulars and if it took a while for an order to come out, or if nothing seemed to be happening for a few minutes and then all the orders were ready at once, that was fine. The main thing was that the egg sandwich (the "Annabel") was excellent and held together well enough as I ate it standing next to the locks watching a boat ascend to the upper river that I didn't make huge mess. Been meaning to come here for a while and definitely won't wait long before my next visit. If you park behind the "mall", there's a "mall" entrance and the shop will be the second to your left. There's also an entrance facing Main. I actually parked across the canal at Lake Effect Ice Cream. It's just a short walk across the bridge, and another good parking option to enjoy local shops. The shop itself is open and inviting with a high ceiling and some indoor seating. There's plenty of options from custom sandwiches to building your own. They also have a variety of flavored cream cheeses that vary from day to day. The blackberry cream cheese was tempting but I really wanted a breakfast sandwich with avocado. The bagels here are the perfect size and thickness for a sandwich. Regular bagels from a store can be too thick, and the thin bagels have tasted weird. These bagels are just right. And the sausage patty was the perfect size, too. Service is friendly and prompt. read more

Stopped in for a delicious breakfast sandwich this morning. I had a bacon egg and cheese on a cheese bagel. My husband had a sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel and our toddler had a cinnamon toast bagel with LOTS of delicious cream cheese. All bagels are homemade and flavors are always changing. They sell bagels and cream cheese to bring home - we bought a half dozen of a few different flavors to try. They also have iced lattes and hot coffee - we got one of each and both were really good! The employees were so friendly and nice to talk to! It's so nice to walk into a restaurant and all of the employees are kind and smiling. Good food, yet always an odd experience. Second time there. Very limited bagel selection, we would have bought a dozen bagels yet that would have wiped out their selection. Service seems disjointed by employees not knowing prices or what drinks they have? Speaking of prices, no prices listed until you check out. Once again, odd. I've read the owners response on other reviews that they loose money if the make too many bagels. I get it. Simple supply and demand issues. However, again you are losing sales by the appearance of not being stocked. Part of this business is having a choice and unfortunately dead stock. Last time we were there they ran out of napkins and paper towels, this time all they had was large coffee cups. Therefore you could only buy a large. Not really an issue. However again, go to the store and buy more. (As this is not stuff that goes bad, it is all a sunk cost.). The food again is good, if you're in the area and want a good bagel, go. read more

Tried going on a Friday at 10am...out of bagels(?). Gave it another shot the following week on a Thursday at 9am... limited bagels. With it being my first (well second) time here I found it very confusing why there was a shortage right at the beginning of the day. I was trying to examine the menu and the girls said it might not be accurate we are out of a few bagels and we have additional cream cheeses. As a first timer ordering from an incomplete menu the experience was not smooth. I kept saying do you have this or that. Honestly, that's kind of annoying and it was clear that it made the workers a little unsure themselves... checking this and checking that and not just being able to confidently take my order and answer my questions. And not that I really cared about the price... but why no prices anywhere to be seen? When I seen my total I wasnt even sure what cost what. $17 but what was the break down. I ordered: *-Bacon breakfast sandwich on a sesame bagel with the addition of plain cream cheese: there was no shortage of cream cheese that's for sure and it had a good flavor. The ratio of eggs and bacon was a little thin. All I really tasted was cream cheese with a hint of everything else. The bagel itself was interesting. A lot chewier and thinner than I anticipated but not the worst. It was better than the chain breakfast spots that's for sure. I would give the bagel another shot to taste it with a different combo- lunch option and/or with just cream cheese. *-Iced latte. Again they weren't sure if they could make it. I seen the flavor bottles sitting out so I could see they had quite a few more than listed on the menu. They weren't sure what non dairy milks were available. Again..not smooth. The latte was not great. Too much flavor shot. Tasting very artificial. The espresso did not really hit the spot either. Maybe consider trying it with less pumps of flavor (I think they did 5 or so) . Tbh I would probably just try the regular hot coffee next time. Overall: I enjoy going to local small businesses and having a bagel shop in the area is a plus. Breakfast sandwich is an upgrade from breakfast chain restaurants. I would get the breakfast sandwich again but with a tad less cream cheese. I want to check out the specialty cream cheeses next time/lunch options. I would pass on the Iced Latte and check out their regular coffee, which from reviews people seem to enjoy. read more

First, let me say I don't eat bagels often, but when I do I want a decent quality bagel. When I read that B&D Bagels ship in their dough from NYC, but boil and bake their bagels fresh daily I knew I had to go. I ordered a pumpernickel bagel with lox and the works. My husband ordered a rye bagel with chive cream cheese. The pumpernickel bagel had a slightly sweet rye bread flavor that was crusty on the outside, with a dense chewy texture on the inside, accompanied with liberal schmer of cream cheese. The lox wasn't overly smokey and combined nicely with the works; crunchy thinly sliced red onion, a slice of sweet tomato and briney capers. Absolutely perfection! My husband's bagel had a very rich taste of rye with a generous helping of cream cheese with crisp chives throughout. We enjoyed our bagels with freshly made coffee that was rich, dark and strong in flavor. The staff were incredibly welcoming and did not rush us to make our decisions. Next time I go, I plan to sign up for their "Bagel Bucks" for frequent customers. I'd recommend going early if you want a good variety of bagel choices. read more

Visiting my home town from Florida and missed NY bagels. Found B&D's and thought, based on the reviews and rating, it would be the perfect place to fill my need. WRONG! Three of us went for breakfast and the staff was hustling to keep up with customers while the owner sat and chatted loudly with other customers oblivious to the staff needing help. I ordered our sandwiches, one coffee and a pretzel to go. Sandwiches finally came and two were fine but our hummus sandwich was nearly absent of hummus, which is a fairly cheap item. We had to go up to the counter and request my coffee 3 times and it finally came after we were all finished eating and trying to walk out. We then had to wait for a pretzel to cook which was fine, but the owner came out and said it had a defect and he would cover the cost of the bagel. I already paid for it, so I wasn't sure how he would cover it. He then tried to give me a card to come back and get a free pretzel in the future. It will be a cold day in Florida before I would set foot in this place again. Also, a note to the owner. This is 2024. DO NOT CALL WOMEN SWEETHEART. It is condescending and offensive. I love a good breakfast bagel, normally I got to jays bagel but I decided to try this place with my brother and sister. Went up to order and there was only 3 kinds of bagels poppy seed, cinnamon, and one more. I was excited to come here because I would imagine there would be a range of bagel and if not at least a plain so was not super happy about. Ordered 4 bacon, egg, and cheese on poppy seed bagels. Wasn't that great, well wasn't good at all if I'm being honest. It was extremely greasy, the the egg was plain, my bagel had 2 tops, my sisters bagel was burnt, and the egg on bagel I ordered to go for a friend was also burnt. My brother also ordered 2 smoothies, 1 banana and 1 blackberry I think. The banana was good, the blackberry was awful, it tasted like they throw a bunch of wild berries in a blender and served it. I'm a bit confused about this establishment but overall was satisfied. I parked in the back lot and was uncertain on how to get into the place. In the back, there's a main door that enters the building in the middle that I found or you can walk around the entire building to get to the front door. Upon entering it was very spacious with seating if you prefer to eat in. I was a bit perplexed being that this is an establishment that primarily sells bagels, but only had 2 varieties of bagels and 1 bialy on a Saturday morning. One of the flavors they had was Jalapeño (which I love spicy so that was perfect) so I ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon and I was able to choose my cheese and picked Pepper Jack. I noticed that they use some Boar's Head cheeses and meats so I was delighted to see that. The young man that took my order was very pleasant and friendly. I then stepped to the right to pay for my sandwich where a lady cashed me out, I got a vibe that she wasn't very much a people person. Another man that made my sandwich came out from the kitchen and made it a point to thank me and told me to have a great day! I thought that was a very nice gesture. My sandwich was very tasty and cooked to perfection. It had an ample amount of bacon on it which I appreciate. The jalapeño bagel had a very mild jalapeño taste but was fresh and decent. The prices were on par with other establishments. Will return when I'm in the area. Hopefully there will be more varieties of bagels and I would love to try one of their cream cheeses as they sounded very unique and delicious! read more

First impression was low as the bagel selection was minimal. However, the staff was polite, professional and extremely accommodating. We decided to fuel up for the day ahead and order the Colorado Breakfast Burrito. What a great meal! Fluffy eggs wrapped up with bacon, cheese and hand shredded potatoes. Ah I'm so torn on writing a review of this place but overall I think it is a solid 3 star. I don't like the prices 10$ for a breakfast bagel seems out of touch for lockport, this isn't manhattan. They also don't post prices on the menu board which I don't love. They are ALWAYS OUT of stuff, bagels etc. Making it so you can NEVER get exactly what you want. You have to concede to another bagel flavor or get a sandwich for still a steep price without avocado etc. The coffee here is never good. I don't think the workers actually know how to make different coffee drinks, it seems like they just guess and it tastes different or is a different temperature every time. I like the kid play area they have but other than that, I wish the prices were more affordable I would come here more. I wish they did a better job stocking, especially on weekends. If it's a weekend morning before 10 and you are sold out of everything, that is a supply issue. I could understand if it was close to closing time, but they are always out of everything. I was especially irked last time I ordered extra cream cheese to-go. They gave me a 4oz dressing cup of cream cheese, when I looked at my receipt they charged me $5!!! for a "5oz" even though that is impossible for a 4oz cup and not what I was given. Last time I went here it says open on google, I got my kids out of the car to go up to the door just to see a sign they were closed for personal emergency, which I get things happen but overall continues the disjointed message they are always sending. I had to load all my kids back in the car then GO BACK to the coffee shop across the canal because they sell the bagels there and I went there first because the coffee at BD's is always off. If I go here again I'll have to have low expectations and stop tipping to offset the prices which I know a lot of people don't do anymore for counter service anyways. read more

I originally headed to B&Ds on a word of mouth recommendation about outrageous bagel flavors and spreads. While I can absolutely confirm the bagels and spreads are good, unfortunately I'm taking B&D off my regular visit list. The ambiance leaves much to be desired-the shop seems to not know exactly what it is--the decor is not one of a typical bagel shop/cafe, or a restaurant. In fact, when you first walk in you wouldn't even think food is served here. There's a children's play area next to the counter which seems misplaced, and overall not the vibe of a place you'd want to sit down and hang out in-more of a grab your food and go. On a recent visit, I saw a set up for an animal on the floor behind the counter which didn't look great. The service is good, typical wait is between 5-10 minutes depending on the time of day/week. read more

Highly recommend! We looked everywhere in Lockport for good quality poppyseed bagels and came up short, because we apparently live in a crappy bagel wasteland. Just before resigning ourselves to our gummy Panera or Tops bagels fate, we stumbled upon B&D's Bagels. I called to pick up 1/2 dozen before Christmas Eve, and went out in a snowstorm to get them. They were so friendly and welcoming. They literally doubled our order for free and threw in a spread of our choice. I can't say enough about the customer service. Just top tier. The bagels are delicious, and rival the ones I've eaten in NYC. Kudos on a job excellently done! We will pay back their kindness and consideration by remaining loyal customers from here on out. read more

Excellent breakfast sandwiches on very good bagels. Tried this place for the first time today since it's about 20 minutes from where we live. The only bad thing is that they run out of bagels early. Went on a Saturday at around noon and they were down to three bagels even though they are open until 2 PM. They had two jalapeño and one rye left so we got one of each kind leaving the remaining jalapeño for the next guy in line. They should either make some more (I understand they don't want to be left with a lot of unsold bagels) or at least have some packaged rye bread to make later arrivers sandwiches of some kind. The egg sandwiches come with two whole eggs and the bacon was perfectly done and plentiful. The cheese was cheddar and of good quality. The people running it were very nice including the owner, his mother at the register, and the young man assembling the sandwiches. The only coffee they have is Americano which was very good but my wife would've preferred having decaf available. read more

Best Bagels in Niagara county, filling a longtime need, only other competition is in Buffalo at Chandler street. Had the bagels half a dozen times, second time dining inside this month, for lunch today had a delicious Sundried Tomato bagel with Chipotle cream cheese BLT, bacon was perfect. Tasty, fresh and filling. Friendly staff family owned mother and son as well as Barista chatted with me while my bagel sandwich was being made and after I finished eating. Favorite bagels are cheddar, jalepeño and what I had today. Great location with pan American ceiling in tact, plenty of space and nice ambiance watching the hustle & bustle of Main St going by near the canal locks.
