Our drinks he made were delicious and refreshing. I had a mijoto and my daughter asked for something with lemonade and he made a delicious mocktail for her. The food was delicious, we chose this place bc we love having an array of small plates of different foods to try. We had Patatas Bravas, they were very flavorful, the Brussel sprouts were crispy with the right amount of salt/sweetness. The Croquetas de Pollo were seasoned well with a great sauce. The lamb skewers were a little different than I expected just bc I thought it would be pieces of lamb on a stick. Instead it was grounded lamb almost like a sausage on a stick . Although still delicious but a tad bit spicy. The grilled skirt steak was perfectly cooked, very tender and flavorful. We also had the Moroccan chicken bites, flavorful with a reasonable amount of spice. And bc it was brunch we ordered some scrambled eggs which were very light and fluffy. What a beautiful restaurant. You arrive via elevator (stairs, if you'd like) and I felt like I was being led into a little slice of Atlanta paradise. We had a reso and I accidentally had made it for a patio table but it was hot, so I asked if we could sit inside instead. Believe me, every inch of me yearned to be out on that patio and I can only imagine how sublime it would be on a less brutal day. Inside is spacious with soaring ceilings and wood accents everywhere. Atlanta is one of those cities that boasts incredibly huge restaurants, a nice surprise for someone used to restaurants in NYC and New Orleans. Therefore, ideal for groups, but also not bad for couples on a date night. The acoustics aren't terrible so you can hear each other (when did I become old?) They have two kinds of sangria, red and rosé. I went with the red, expecting something slighly sweet and spicy. Unfortunately it was neither, a little shocking at a Spanish tapas place. It was so overwhelmingly sweet, I couldn't really recognize what I was drinking. Honestly, there's not much for vegans here. I appreciate that they note on the menu what is vegan (just the hummus) and I asked if the salad could be made vegan by leaving off the ricotta. That's literally it, which is a little disappointing in a tapas restaurant. The hummus is good, but I didn't realize it would be smothered in a chimichurri sauce which was too garlicky for me (not that it wasn't delicious but my stomach cannot tolerate a ton of garlic unfortunately). The salad is a sight to behold, overflowing with gorgeous butter leaf lettuce. There might be an entire head on there. It's lightly dressed with a shallot vinaigrette and tossed in with radish and Jerusalem cucumbers. Too much of the former and not enough of the latter. I thought I had seen that black olives were a part of the salad, but when I asked our server she said it's a puree at the bottom of the salad. It was such a tiny amount, I didn't notice so that was a little disappointing. While I wasn't in love with my food nor my sangria, I need to mention how nice the staff is here, from hostesses to our servers. Beautiful ambiance and excellent service go a long way in my book. Probably just a few days prior I was saying I hadn't been here in a while yet it's one of my favorite places in Buckhead. Upon entry, we were immediately seated and given our menus. Once our waitress came over, we asked for recommendations but she didn't have any specifics on the food but did on the drinks. We ordered several small plates to share. Every small plate was delicious. The croquettas pollo was probably my favorite. And the patatas bravas was great but it was definitely more than a small plate lol. The drinks were refreshing and felt like we should've been by a pool. We were interested in dessert but unfortunately the desserts we were interested were unavailable. Small Plates Garlic Shrimp** fresno chiles, pork nduja lathered toast Crispy Brussels Sprouts- chimichurri, feta, chile oil. These were so good.- Double order of these. They are roasted perfectly and seasoned to perfection. Croquetas de Pollo crispy fried chicken croquetas, garlic aioli Moroccan Hot Chicken Bites herbed labneh, cabbage slaw Patatas Bravas crispy fried cracked potatoes, spicy bravas sauce- These we're addictive. Large Plates Seared Scallops yukon potato purée, baby turnips, spinach, ararat chile butter Chicken Tagine turmeric couscous, smoked cinnamon, saffron, spinach, apricots- Least favorite dish if the night. It was a huge chicken leg quarter that was unfortunately cold. We had to send it back and by the time it came back out we were already eating dessert. On a nice day I highly recommend sitting outside on the rooftop patio. There are tables with umbrellas to provide shade from the sun. Food: There is a mixture of tapas and a few larger plates. I decided to order a few tapas to try multiple items. I had an order of crispy brussel sprouts, patatas bravas, and Moroccan Hot Chicken Bites. Everything was really good. Despite the name the chicken bites were not spicy which is good because I don't like spicy. It paired really nicely with the herbed labneh which is a yogurt sauce. My first visit to Gypsy Kitchen was well over 6 years ago so I was excited to try it again. Immediately walking in, I could feel the heat in the restaurant. Looking at reviews on here, I see that someone mentioned an issue with the AC 21 days ago so it's disappointing that this is still an issue. It's 90 degrees in Georgia so dining with no AC is not pleasant. We were sweating at the table, using the menus to fan ourselves and considering leaving before we placed our orders. We decided to stay only because the restaurant next door had a 45 minute wait and one of the staff members at GK finally came over and turned one of the fans toward us. Now, for the good stuff. The bartender makes really good drinks. For food, I started with the croquetas de Pollo. I loved the texture of the croquetas. They had a great coating and crunch but the garlic aioli, however, was heavy. Heavy aioli on something fried just made the dish feel heavier. For my entree, I ordered the chicken tagine. I've seen other chicken tagine dishes and this didn't look quite like what I was expecting. It just looked plain. The turmeric couscous and spinach had good flavor. The chicken had a nice crisp on the skin but it didn't have much flavor unless you ate it with the skin. Overall, it's a beautiful place in a beautiful area and would be great to just come and have drinks but I wouldn't rush to come here strictly for the food. I'd also call ahead to make sure the AC is fixed before my next visit. read more

Wanted to check out GK as there is one that just opened in DC. It is in a lovely part of Buckhead and sports a great room layout. I especially liked the large patio. Like most Tapas places they have an abundance of tasty options that can (and should) be shared with friends, as well as mains. I have to admit our party literally tried every Small that they have on the menu (and even a few multiples). We had quite a few faves, including the Garlic Shrimp, the Tirokroketes, and the Grilled Skirt Steak. But the stars have to be the Grilled Spanish Octopus, served amid a healthy dose of capers, Kalmata Olives and small potatoes AND the Herbed Chickpea Falafel, with a yummy tomato paste and that wonderful Lebanese garlic sauce. The only Smalls that we wouldn't do again were the Roasted Mushroom and Goat Cheese Toast (the shrooms were too soggy and the goat cheese, too much) and the Mussels (we've had better and these were very salty). As mentioned, if the weather is nice, and if you can score a table, the patio is the place to be. But even so, the inside is a wonderful way to spend a few hours with your friends and special ones. read more

The décor has always been nice with the metal bull centerpiece at the bar inside and outdoor seating that is both covered as well as uncovered in the warmer months. We sat at the bar and ordered the PEI Mussels, Moroccan Spiced Lamb Skewers, Sumac Honey Roasted Carrots, Moroccan Hot Chicken Bites, Chicken Tagine, Seafood Paella, to eat. We ordered a carafe of Red Sangria and I also had some Cava to drink, and for dessert I ordered the Coconut Milk Malabi. Everything was tasty except for the Lamb Skewers that would have been better if it was chunks of lamb instead of ground lamb and if it was better seasoned. I wasn't impressed by the Moroccan Hot Chicken Bites either as they were not spicy at all and lacked flavor. The service was good this time although in the past it can be a bit hit or miss and I always enjoy the live or overhead music they play in the restaurant. We ordered the GA local lettuces, crispy Brussel sprouts, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, and roasted mushrooms & whipped goat cheese toast. Every single plate was delicious! My top favorite were the brussel sprouts & shrimp, but all of the food was yummy & fresh. You have to try the "50 Shades of Purple" drink. It tasted so fresh & it's the perfect summer drink. We sat on the rooftop patio & the breeze felt so nice. We came around 1:30 PM on a Saturday & were seated quickly. They also have plenty of indoor seating & bar seating as well, but I recommend sitting on the patio if it's a nice day out. I did have trouble finding parking, but there's a parking garage that has signs pointing to it so just follow the signs. The restaurant will validate your parking ticket so don't forget to bring it with you & validate it at the host stand before leaving. The service was okay, nothing great. First of all: this is a freaking BEAUTIFUL restaurant. Our server, whose name I unfortunately cannot remember, was friendly and attentive and gave us plenty of guidance about the menu as we were new to the style/flavors of food here. We started with the potatoes, Brussels sprouts, and jamon plates and boy were they tasty. The potatoes were crispy outside but soft inside with a tasty tomato-y sauce and the Brussels were perfectly crispy with a bright relish and feta topping. I could have eaten 3 more plates of them. For my entree I got the shakshouka and other than my eggs being overcooked (the yolks weren't runny like I was hoping for) the flavor was still so so so good and savory and mopped up every bit with the grilled bread. I don't even like mushrooms and I ate the oyster mushrooms in this dish. My husband got the Spanish-style breakfast sandwich which he also said was super delicious and filling! Shout out to Chris the GM who recognized us from the night before- we had unknowingly had dinner at their sister restaurant next door- and stopped by to introduce himself and wish us a happy anniversary. We were also treated to one of their housemade cinnamon rolls which were also to die for. I don't like my pastries super sweet and this one was the perfect balance of sweetness and cinnamon. I've been to this restaurant before (even celebrated my birthday here in the past), but I had to come yesterday for National Spanish Paella Day! We came at 7pm on a Monday, and it wasn't too packed which was nice. They had 3 specialty dishes to choose from: Traditional Seafood Paella, Fideua, and Vegetable Paella. Now I've always wanted to try Fideua at a restaurant, but I actually made that dish for some friends a couple days ago so I had to stick with the traditional Paella. Now, I've had their Seafood Paella before, but this one had octopus instead of scallops. This restaurant makes one of the best paellas I've ever had, and I've had plenty of homemade paellas from a Spanish family friend. The rice was beautifully cooked, the seafood was jam packed with flavor, and the grilled lemon of course added the perfect touch to this amazing dish! As for drinks, my friend and I both ordered the 50 Shades of Purple, which I highly recommend if you like a nice refreshing citrusy drink! Lastly, our server yesterday was absolutely hilarious and cracked jokes with us. She made the experience so much more fun! So, I know the exact food I ate was only available March 26th and 27th, but the Seafood Paella is still on their menu with scallops. It is still a perfect choice (honestly you can't go wrong with this restaurant which is why I've come back haha)! Definitely give it a try if you haven't before! read more

We also shared a carafe of the red sangria between the 3 of us and it was enough for about 1.5 glasses each.
