The "Restaurant Kid" Litmus Test: Parisi Passes with Flying Colors…read more On my first day in Denver, a childhood friend took me to lunch at Parisi, though he was admittedly a bit apprehensive. Having grown up with Italian heritage on both sides and parents who owned an Italian restaurant, I am notoriously hard to please when it comes to authentic cuisine. He was worried I'd be overcritical; instead, I was completely charmed. Located in a quaint, quiet neighborhood, Parisi offers the kind of authenticity that is rare to find. Here is why it earned a perfect score from a tough critic: The Main Course: The Tagliatelle Ragu was balanced and traditional--exactly what you want from a high-caliber kitchen. The "Woodfire" Factor: The aroma of the woodfire pizza oven hits you the moment you walk in. While we opted to eat inside rather than on the lovely patio, those scents alone convinced me that I have to return specifically for the pizza next time. The Grand Finale: I had to finish the meal with my favorite, Stracciatella gelato. It was the perfect creamy, artisanal end to a fantastic lunch. The service was seamless, the ambiance was inviting, and the food spoke for itself. If you're looking for a spot that feels like a true slice of Italy in the middle of Denver, this is it. I'll definitely be back to tackle that pizza menu!

The ambiance is very cozy and our waiter was very pleasant and professional. The Italian accent was nice too! Made the experience feel very authentic. The peeps and I like to share, so I was able to taste a few things during this visit. The Crostini Toscani Misti was the perfect size. Three slices of grilled ciabatta each with a different topping. White beans & kale, bruchetta, and the third one I couldn't tell what it was, but was super good. Lots of garlic and herbs. Yum! The charcuterie board seemed to have lots of options and the risotto was ok, but the Crespelle Alla Fiorentina was delish! It was almost like vegetable lasagne rolls. The sauce was sweet and the filling was rich and creamy. I had the Pappardelle Con Sugo Ai Piselli which was papparedelle pasta with ragu sauce. The pasta was hand made which I love. The ragu sauce was meaty and very flavorful. It wasn't a super saucy dish, but still very good. The seasoning was perfect. The peas were a little hard, but not a deal breaker at all. The peeps said the ribs were a little dry, I didn't taste those. The braised beef in Chianti tomato sauce however was AWESOME!!!! Very tender and had a great flavor. I'll order that next time! We finished dinner with tastes of cannolis, chocolate cake, and tiramisu. They were all really tasty, but I love tiramisu, so that was my fave. This is a great place and I can't wait to bring hubby here! Cheers!

She was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and helped make my birthday feel genuinely special. We started with the Bruschettina Classica and Lattuga Grigliata. The bruschetta was fresh and flavorful, but the grilled romaine completely surprised me. It was topped with a homemade creamy Parmigiano Reggiano sauce and balsamic reduction, and it ended up being my absolute favorite appetizer. My first drink was the Basito, made with Bacardi, lime, fresh basil, and club soda. It was incredibly refreshing--basically the perfect Italian mojito. For dinner, we tried the Lasagna alla Bolognese, Risotto alla Milanese, and Tonnarelli Cacio & Pepe. The homemade lasagna was rich and comforting, the saffron risotto was delicious, and the cacio e pepe was simple in the best possible way. Every dish tasted thoughtfully prepared. We paired dinner with a Barbera that was absolutely to die for. It was a dry Italian red with the perfect balance and just enough sweetness for my taste. We finished with dessert, and the affogato was my favorite ending to an already phenomenal meal. Between the incredible food and Bella's wonderful service, La Vietta gave me such a memorable birthday dinner. I'll absolutely be back!

Despite being completely okay with waiting til my reservation time, I was promptly greeted & sat by Denise. She struck up a conversation whilst sitting me & even checked on me towards the end of my dinner. I was sat at the bar and Kenny was the bartender. I started off with the crodino spritz. It turned out to be a great pairing with the entire meal. Kenny was wonderful and gave a great recommendation for the Ravioli. The ravioli sauce was the best part of the dish. The ravioli itself was great and is something I'd order again. The only note to somebody ordering it is the portion size is rather small. However, if you're ordering an appetizer it's a great pairing. Despite being very busy with continuous tickets rolling in, Kenny kept up the great service and cleared my plates, refilled my water, and checked on me multiple times throughout my meal. After I'd finished the ravioli and decided it wasn't enough. I decided on trying one of the appetizers. Rudolph assisted with ordering and gave me the recommendation for the Carpaccio. I'd argue it was better than the Ravioli. It was extremely light & refreshing, and an amazing pairing post Ravioli. I noticed he was also assisting with what I can guess was restocking clean dishes, so massive respect to him for that. Team work makes it all! Finishing off with the Tiramisu & cappuccino. Both were great & the cappuccino espresso wasn't burnt and was arguably perfect, along with the milk foam. Total for the appetizer, entree, dessert, & mocktail was just under $60 which I was more than happy to pay. Overall an amazing experience and I will be coming back when in Denver again. The environment is amazing alongside the hospitality and food. My compliments to the entire team in the kitchen & everybody who made it such a great experience.

We came here for a nice dinner night out after hearing great things about the restaurants and I was…read moresomewhat disappointed. Coming into it, I know Boombots has an eclectic restaurant with a fusion pasta menu, and I was fully on board with trying some weird, funky pasta. The restaurant was nicely laid out and decorated, and the vibes are great. The drinks are delicious and they have one of my favorite non-alcoholic cocktails (What the Hellyante). However, the mains come and the wheels fell apart. We got the congee risotto, the bucatini primavera, and the gyros cavatelli. Let's start with the positive. The bucatini primavera was tasty. The pasta was well cooked and everything ate very well together, albeit a little dry. Overall, a good dish. The congee risotto was also not bad. It was definitely one of the dish I was looking forward as someone who followed their Instagram, but the execution was off. The rice was well cooked but it ate just a tad bland. The 63 degree egg was just a tad over and unfortunately, the told was on the cold side. That said, it was tasty nonetheless. My least favorite part was the amount of toasted seeds on top. There was simply too much and it knocked the balance of the dish towards overly crunchy, which is not necessarily what you expect in a risotto or a congee dish. Finally, the gyros cavatelli was just not it. In my opinion, the dish just didn't work for me. It's a dish with za'atar pasta, gyros, cherry tomatoes, pickled red onions, crispy chickpeas, dill, nad tzakiki. The warm tzakiki sauce along with the picked red onions and cherry tomatoes ensure the dish eats on the sour side. For me as well, the warm tzakiki was off putting in smell and taste. The pasta was also undercooked and grainy. It wasn't al dente, just undercooked. And with everything, the gyros is kind of lost. Overall, just a really odd dish in terms of conception and execution, and one that I didn't enjoy. Overall, I will be generous and give 3/5. I think service was pretty good, the drinks were delicious, and the price was acceptable. Other dishes, such as the lumache and the salads, looks pretty good as well. But based on what I got today, I cannot recommend the dishes we got at Boombots.
