This was an excellent place. For the type of food and the cost it was a pretty good value and the line seemed to move quickly. Parking can be a challenge depending upon when you go. We used to love Gurus! We take all our friends here when they're in town but lately they've disappointed us. The servers get confused on orders and aren't really nice at all. I decided to give Guru's another try and I had a better experience. The food overall is still good, but not great, apart from the delicious sweet potato fries (I could eat those all day). However, this time around the staff were all really nice and helpful, and gave some good recommendations. My husband got the french dip and that was pretty tasty, especially the au jus, very flavorful. I tried the chicken teriyaki rice bowl, and it was better than the thai peanut for sure, but still needed more rice. I could just have been in a bad move because I had just driven 8 hours; nevertheless I did not have a great experience. The two children at the order counter were clueless and had deer in headlights look. Guru's is a super cute hipster style restaurant in downtown Provo. They've got a southwestern style menu with items like Mexican pizza, and some eclectic quesadillas like cilantro lime chicken (pictured) and blue cheese steak! We ordered at the front counter, got a number, then grabbed a table with an umbrella outside. They have about 4 or 5 outdoor 4-top tables. The weather was perfect, so that definitely enhanced the experience! I ordered the cilantro lime chicken quesadilla and the queso dip which totaled just under $20. The queso dip was really clumpy, like there was a lot of flour in the roux. But the chicken quesadilla was really cheesy and delicious! I would definitely recommend it. read more

Food here is good. One of the only places open on Sunday in Provo for breakfasts. We got the crepes and they were really good.

This is been one of my favorite local hotspots for about 20 years. The menu is completely original, they have some great classic favorites and a number of really unique dishes. I eat here about every other week. Today I started with the mulligatawny soup and added a cali club wrap. I almost always add sweet potato fries, because you just have to. The Thai peanut pasta with chicken is another personal favorite as are the salmon and Schezwan bowls. They make a great Ruben if you're in the mood. The atmosphere is relaxed and really unique. This is a real hidden gem in downtown Provo. If you haven't tried it, head on down sometime this week! read more

Hip, upscale diner with a great vibe, cool decor and super friendly, helpful staff. So many fresh, wholesome vegetarian options that it was hard to choose. The counter person suggested the vegetarian burrito and it was very good. Be aware if you have a peanut allergy- there are peanuts in the burrito! It was a strange surprise to find peanuts in a burrito--maybe that is something unique to Provo or Utah? I'm not sure. I'm a Chicago girl. I liked the burrito either way. There is a bakery attached but I was too full to go there for dessert this time. I'm only in town for the week but I'd definitely return to Guru's. Earlier today I had the black & Blue Steak Wrap. I asked the dressing to be ranch instead of blu cheese. I normally dont like steak in my buritos or tacos but this one i thoroughly enjoyed! It tasted more like a steak ground beef which i like. Very moist and soft. They put a lot of the ranch sauce in it. The soup was the chicken tortilla soup. It was pretty good but maybe not enough soup for $7. I recommend the wrap with ranch. read more

I'm giving it 2 stars because the food was good, but the service was horrendous. My work got lunch here for a coworker's birthday. We ordered the earliest we could, around 11 am. Another coworker picked up the food, but when he got back realized he forgot the pizza I ordered. So he went back. At 12:30 he called us because he didn't forgot to grab the pizza; they didn't make it because their ovens were broken. They did not let us know when we placed the order. They did not tell my coworker when he walked into the restaurant and physically got the food from one of the workers. I understand that mistakes happen, but that level is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. read more

So disappointed. We have been fans of Guru's for years but from this experience we will likely never return. Although their esthetic is stunner, the space was SO dirty. Windowsills & plants full of dust & bugs - dead & alive, surrounded our seats which made for a less than delightful spot to sit despite moving twice to try & avoid it. & of course the actual food was no better. Our margarita pizza was soaked to a point that the whole crust was mushy dough that couldn't even hold the toppings. & their three cheese tortellini should be labeled "three pieces of cheese tortellini" because thats how many were in our pasta. read more

So the nice thing about this place is that it's good for groups and for picky people. There's a very wide variety of food, from pastas to tacos to sort of Asian dishes. The thing for me is that while nothing I've had here has been bad, nothing has blown me away either. I think they try to do too much. I'd rather go to a place that has really perfected a few things, than go somewhere that is just sort of good or ok at a lot of things. Went to Gurus today and my daughter had to wait for her pizza 45 minutes. My husband and I FINISHED our food and they couldn't get her food out. It's JUST a basil and pesto pizza! Food- The food was pretty wacky, tbh. Everything had odd touches that didn't complement other things in the meal. For example, my friend ordered a salmon salad and it had some mozzarella cheese, those crunchy Chinese sticks, and hot sauce for dressing. It was really weird! I had some shrimp fettuccine which was pretty good, though. Overall, everyone at our table had really weird meals. The sweet potato fries were pretty good- but also paired with a chipotle sauce which felt odd (but actually tasted alright). Price- They vary dramatically! I think I saw things for $6 and the most expensive is around $20. Environment- Really nice! The location is great as well. I gave them two stars because of these things. Service- Pretty decent! We were acknowledged quickly and the ordering process was simple. It took a minute to get our food, but nothing horrible. My husband was served ice cold rice with his salmon and we are still trying to decide if that was on purpose or on accident, haha.
