Ray, Chloe and Nan are the nail techs I like to take care of my nails. Ray and Chloe are very talented at doing nail designs. All you have to do is show them a picture of what you would like. They're also great at providing recommendations. Nan mainly does my pedicures but she is also good at doing classic nail shapes and designs. I have been going here for some years now and love that they were blessed to expand the building. These three nail techs are clean and I have never received a fungus. read more

This place is horrible!!! A pedicure is supposed to be relaxing, but I was fighting for my life in there!! The lady damn near scrubbed my skin off exfoliating my legs first of all, and then she almost burned my skin off with the hot stones! I got a shellac mani and it was HORRIBLE. She absolutely mangled my cuticles and had me bleeding on both hands! Then she got gel polish on my skin on both hands, nearly all my fingers, and cured it dry to my skin and didn't clean it. I like this nail salon because it is never a wait! Plenty of nail techs and manicurist. I can't stand to wait and only two people working. I love that they take care of you. Only thing I was missing was a cold beverage. The eye lashes does good but I personally feel like she is behind on the trend of hybrid or wisp with the natural eye lashes hair. They still do the strips with the old school glue and the really thick plastic individuals. It is budget friendly. First of all, they had me wait for someone even thought the guy in front had already cut my nails and buffed them. He had sent me to a lady next and mind you I had thought they knew what they were doing and had all the products/resources to make the nails come out EXACTLY like the picture,since they TOLD me they did. First mistake,the red is suppose to go under the acrylic, she put it on the bottom of the nail. Second mistake, they were going to use halo glitter on them when in the picture its clearly a black glitter. They told me they had it and at the end they didn't. They charged me 75 for this.. I've been coming to the salon on and off for years and have always had decent to pleasant experiences both with the work done and the service providers. I got a mani and pedi done by Donna and my god am I in pain. She was so aggressive trying to get the sides of my nails that after HOURS my toes are still throbbing. I had told her it was hurting and to just leave it but either she didn't hear me or she thought she knew my toes better than I did. She dug thru my toes so aggressively you can see how deep she was in there! My mani wasn't great either especially with her trying to pry off my acrylic with a nail tip without even soaking off but at least she wasn't in there going ham. I am genuinely so disappointed and obviously worried about the state of my toes. I decided I'd try a new salon while out running errands. It was busy but techs were available for mostly everyone! I didn't bother reading any reviews before going in...prices are reasonable. I received solar nails, my goal was to have natural look. We added tips and made the shape almond. My tech was Tina, very friendly and efficient! Overall positive experience, one thing I'd like to see changed about my nails would be the space between the tip and top of my real nail. More space then I'd like to see. Do not go to this nail salon. They are sloppy, rude, and unclean. I was THE FIRST customer of the day, so I don't understand why I got the treatment I did. The atmosphere doesn't match the name of this establishment. Spas are supposed to make you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. The place is cluttered. The decor is anything but the look of a spa type nail salon. The person up front didn't greet me. She was dismissive, and when I told her what I needed done, she waved me to the back, The pedicurist ground the color off my toes rather than used polish remover. She slapped lotions and oils on me in a haphazard way. I paid for the deluxe but the mint wasn't placed on my legs all the way around, just on my shins and not even a full application. I had to ask her if she was going to push my cuticle line back. She was already moving to polish my nails. There was one other person in the salon by this time. Was she late for something? Is that why she slapped and smeared and wiped so quickly. Again. This is a "nail spa." There was another tech there eating her breakfast at one of the manicure tables and washed her food in the sink where we are supposed to wash our hands. When it was time for the manicure, the tech pulled out the drill to grind the dip I had on my nails, and since these are my nails and my nails are very thin, I asked for polish remover. She proceeded to get loud in her language to the other techs, so I just said, "Thank you. Never mind. I'll just pay for my pedicure." I'm paying good money for a service. I will not spend my money in a place that does not honor a customer's reasonable requests, doesn't follow laws (I'm certain that washing foods in sinks for customer hand washing and eating said food at work tables was a health code violation), or treated with the same respect I showed when I entered. I had to give a star to this place in order to post this review. If I could post this without it, I would. This was my first AND MY LAST time at this salon. read more

I went to Gulfgate Nails Spa and was not treated kindly. I got there and was not welcomed and the employees just sat there staring at me. When they finally asked what services I needed, they pointed me to the chair. The employee that was told to work with me seemed upset but I didn't pay it any mind. So I ask for the colors for dip and she gave the color samples in a rough way but again, I didn't pay it any mind. So she sits down and is like "give me your hand" and she had a nail file in her hand. So I tell her that I'm looking for a specific color and to give me a second to look through them. She says "you can look through the colors while I work on your nails" I'm like give me a second so I can find the color, because if y'all don't have it then I will come back another day. So she practically throws the nail file in the cup where she keeps it and starts talking to the other employees and at this point I KNOW she is talking about me. But am I wrong for saying that? Like I wasn't rude about it or anything, I just needed a second. So anyways, I find the color. I let her know, she gets up and there's still a lot of conversation going on but I am trying to ignore it. She then comes back, and says "oh we don't have the color" so I just say "ok thank you" and get up and while walking towards the door the man that works there walks in front of me and just barely opens the door to let him self out and lets the door close in front of my face. So I just stay calm and walk out. I don't know why they were acting this way towards me. It was the first time I had been there and will never return. First lady asked if we wanted one or two tickets best friend said one , and they gave two tickets anyways Best friend said she was paying for both from the start and repeated again Second I gave best friend my ticket the front desk person saw this and then I walked out . Three of their employees come chasing me down outside accusing me of not paying. my best friend see this and comes and say she is paying for both and that the guy at the front saw me give her my ticket. Used to go there regularly until recently when they cheated me out of money. I always get a dip powder manicure which they charge $45. One day I was went and the tech I like was off so I went to someone else. I was charged $52. I have no problem paying for my services but don't try to cheat me. And I also tip always and tip well (20% minimum). I asked the person that was ringing me up why was it so much did the price go up and he replied yes. Ok fine. 2 weeks later I return and the tech I usually go to is back and I'm charged $45 for the SAME EXACT SERVICE I do every 2 weeks and the 2 weeks prior, which is a dip powder manicure. Just to note, I keep my nails short for work and don't do any design. So I ask the man ringing me up (it's always the same guy) why was I charged $7 more the 2 weeks prior. He plays dumb like he doesn't know what I am speaking of. He then tells me that the techs make they're own price and I need to work it out with them. So why tell me that the price went up instead of telling me to speak with the tech that charged me $52. What disgusted me was his absolute disregard and disrespectful way of handling me and the situation. It's only $7 but I will go spend that somewhere else where people are honest and my business is appreciated. I told them I will never be back and I stand on that! read more

She was pushy about me getting the powder polish, which I don't care for because it's overpriced. I politely told her that I don't like my nails thick. She got an attitude and rush though it and I wasn't happy with her work. Three days later I returned to have someone else re-file my nails and change the color. The new technician waited until she was done to tell me the cost was $40. Three days prior I paid $40 for a new set. So, I asked the guy who manages the front desk and payments why a color change and file was $40 he wouldn't answer. This is unacceptable and bad business to intentionally take advantage and over charge. I feel violated, one because I've patronized this establishment many times for 2 years.
