PSA for anyone who is thinking of eating here. I witnessed a woman who works here take a serving spoon and taste the food then put the spoon back in the tray. Disgusting! I was waiting for traffic to move right in-front of the restaurant and I saw her clear as day double dip into one of the serving trays. I discovered this place when I was tutoring in North LB a few years ago. Luckily it was one of my first Mexican "hidden gem" finds. I have become very spoiled with all the amazing $1 tacos all over the southland. This place has no taco Tuesdays and the tacos are about $1.50 and it is in a slightly rougher part of town, however if you are a brave culinary adventurer you will know that the ghetto sometimes provides the BEST food finds. (reference Camden, New Jersey) These chicken tacos are the best I have had in southern California! BAR NONE. Something unique and alive about the flavoring. This is certainly one of my FAVORITE "off the beaten path" spots in ALL OF L.A. Huge bonus. You wouldn't expect a mom and pop spot on this side of town to have free wifi... Well, IT DOES! So my sister recommended this spot. I've seen it many times over when I'd go to the barber shop next door. We originally headed there for the tacos. My sister told me that they hand make all their tortillas for each taco as you wait. Sure enough that's what I witnessed. I personally ordered their torta de carnitas. I've had some great tortas throughout the years. This one can easily feed two hungry adults. It was massive. The tacos were pretty good from what I heard. My experience with this tacos place was horrible. I wouldn't suggest going here if you're not Mexican cause they treated me really bad. I came in to order my food the guy didn't even take my order he asked me for everything I wanted and fake like he wrote it down and never started my food. I stood in there for 10 mins some other Mexican older men came in and they started servicing giving them a receipt and everything right away. At the end I ended up getting charged after and getting my food way after the other customers. To end it I told them my order twice that I didn't want red sauce and only green and they still gave me a red after me clearly telling them I want green. The food also was not good. read more

The food is really good most of the time but i really hate it when the older lady cooks the food. It has no seasoning no flavor and sometimes overcooked all burn. The younger guy that cooks there always makes the food really good, he should be the main chef as it looks like he's part time i dont see him often.
