I had I party of 10 made the deposit, I bought a cake for the bday person I was told from the receptions I have two options 1. Give them the cake they will cut it and save it in there refrigerator there will be a fee of 25.00 2. Keep the cake cut it myself and there is no charge. I choose option 2 and when I brought the cake to the table the waiter then said that the manager will be charging me a cake fee, I told him thats not what the reception told me. On December 14th, 2025 our party of fifteen experience a profoundly unsatisfactory Sunday buffet at Guadalajara Grill 14610 Baldwin Park, CA 91706. The food selection was notably poor; it featured an excessive amount of pork and beef, lacked diverse alternatives and included tasteless shrimp and guacamole. The Mariachi performance which we had hoped would enhance our meal, was also disappointing. It compromised only four songs, and the impromptu invitation for a guest from the audience to sing significantly disrupted the ambiance we sought. In addition, our server Lilian O, explicitly informed us that all fountain drinks, coffee and horchatas were included with the buffet. Despite, we were presented with an additional $70 charge for horchatas. Given this numerous shortcomings, in both food quality , entertainment and service clarity , we found our experience to be highly unsatisfactory and cannot recommend your establishment and will not be returning. We attended Guadalajara Grill with the family, we had not dined here in a very long time. After being seated we waited about 20 minutes or so for our waitress to take our drinks order. When ordering we were informed no plates could be shared and if we didn't order a dish for someone in our party we would be charged $30 to pay for the seat, which we found to be wild. We were forced to order a random plate. All the staff was overwhelmed and stressed out everything seemed to be very unorganized and unprofessional. The place had a nice mariachi show a few times during the day no complaints about the show, the place itself is very loud. The food was mid not the best in flavor! This restaurant was suggested by one of our clients. And it was his birthday. The restaurant seating was a little confusing since there were long tables so when busy you may be seated with other people which can be good so people all get along. The mariachi band was great but it was a little loud and you really couldn't hear people at your table very well. Now the specialty cocktails are HUGE!!!!!!!! I don't even know what I ordered but it was delicious and I was shocked it came in a bowl. I was thinking how the heck am I supposed to finish this? I wasn't successful but I made a pretty good attempt. The drink was citrusy and alcohol was balanced and not overwhelming. Then our table had the queso fundido it came to the table still sizzling. Definitely put on tortilla and definitely get it with chorizo! Then I had the pork hock and this was huge too. I'm thinking this reminded me of the Flintstones! But very good. It had a kick with spice as well as the salsa but you just can't stop eating it! Poor customer service, the waitress was short, rude and didn't know how to handle the busy Mother's Day crowd. She snatched the menu from my family members hand because she got impatient with her taking time to order. But we explained it's because she couldn't see that well but she was very rude. Although there was a lot of people, the wait time was very little. There was plenty of delicious options. The live music was nice but be aware it's so loud you cannot talk or hear anyone at your table. Maybe we went in a day where it was short staffed as our waiter came around THREE times the whole time we were there. First time to get our drink orders, second to give us our drinks, and third to give us the total. We had to ask another waiter for refills. Also some of the food was too salty or sweet for my taste. This place is special. It is Mexican food but from Guadalajara, so they have a few great things on the menu that you will no get elsewhere. The place is very cute and they keep it clean. The service is so nice and they all just want you to be happy. Anything you order here will be great. They even have great beans. They have a full bar and they have specials. The Monterrey Chicken is one of my favorites and their flan is really good. I think they make it there. We love it when they have the buffet. I don't know whether this is every night. Lived near by for 15+ years and never went - now I live further out and decided to check it out. We came here for breakfast/brunch and it was wonderful. Got there a little after 9am and there was already a good chunk of people inside. They have 2 long buffet lines filled with goodies, a dessert/breakfast nook on the side and in the back they have tacos/quesadillas. Service was really good. They're really friendly and attentive. There's tons of seating and from what we saw, large groups come here often. They also have a stage which I was told they have performers on sundays and mariachi. Went for breakfast buffet with my mom and 9 month old son...the food was okay, the waffles weren't cooked fully, and the eggs that were made were watery as well so not cooked well as well...there were also hidden fees, they charged for my son even though he's under one, and no one said that he would get charged even if they eat off your own plate. I've been interested in trying this restaurant, so I tried it on Cinco de Mayo. They had drink specials, I had a lime margarita on the rocks ($5) and it was perfect! They have a buffet menu, for dinner it's $25.99 which seems like a good deal for the buffet options (includes salad, hot foods, fruit, dessert). I was a bit surprised the regular menu was on the expensive side. Perhaps costs are higher because of the buffet option. The food was still good, I would come back. They have a stage and a Mariachi band. The music was good, the restaurant was busy but there were still tables available. The staff were friendly and attentive. It was my husband's and I, together with our 5 month old's baby first time eating here as we have seen a YouTube video of how good this place is. As soon as we entered, it took a sweet time for the host to acknowledge us even though we were the only one in line and she already saw us minutes before. She then proceeded to tell us that strollers are not allowed in the restaurant, only baby car seat or they offer a high chair. I undestand that it's due to the space, however, this is the first time I've been to a restaurant with no stroller allowed and there was no sign at the door whatsoever. We got seated next to the door for their outside seating area where the wind was gusting in directly to our baby, which was not considerate. The food was mediocre, the selection of food was not that great for the price of buffet we paid for. Some good such as the ceviche and the flan did not look fresh. I tried the chicken mole and the chicken tasted old. My father in law's home cooked meals are so much tastier than what we had. The drinks were separate from the actual meal and we ordered three horchatas which costed $20!!! The musicians and singers put on a great show. The musicians will walk through the restaurant to "seranade" your date. All you have to do is let the Server know that you have a special request. Note: it is customary to tip the singer. There is no cover charge or fee for the entertainment, except Special Events. I saw an advertisement for Valentine's Day. The place has plenty of seating indoors with a mariachi performing on stage during brunch hours. The food options for the buffet had a wide variety. The food is excellent but there is a traffic issue at this location. By traffic I mean alot of narrow walk ways and paths. Which is not only a nuisance but dangerous. You Essentially bump into waiters and waitresses trying to walk through and it's a bit inconvenient. Lastly they need to make more eye contact. The older gentleman with the Blue blazer suit and glasses. Needs to welcome people at the door. Rolling your eyes left and right and not acknowledging the customer is definitely unwelcome. Not only rude but not professional. Lastly clean the floors once in a while do a pass because if someone slips and falls a lawsuit could be in order. This goes to the owners and staff. Growing up in the area, I've been to Guadalajara Grill numerous times and have always been happy with every experience. Service is good, the restaurant is clean with beautiful Mexican traditional decor. Live Mariachi entertainment (which is part of the appeal of dining here) is included in their competitive and fair prices. I believe their shows are: Thursday and Friday starting at 7PM. Saturday starting at 3PM. Sunday Brunch starting at 9AM. If you plan to dine during the weekend evening hours, it's best to make reservations as they are prioritized, but note that you won't be seated until your ENTIRE party arrives. They have a weekday lunch buffet at $15.99 from 10AM - 2PM and Saturdays/Holidays at $20.99 from 9AM - 2PM with plenty of food items that include a "Taquiza" (Taco Bar).
