Great service and incredible food! The staff is genuinely friendly and always checking in to make sure you have everything you need. The flavors are authentically Oaxacan--truly a 100% Oaxaca experience.

Hot Chocolate option of water base or milk, we had it with water, delicious!!!!

As part of my quest to try as many weird food, I decided to to Oaxaca food for the first time. Despite living in California for most of my life, I never quite had the real thing and this was a good contender. Also, I was curious about bugs as food and chapulínes seemed to fit the bill and that's how I found this local hidden gem. It's probably one of the few places that serve chapulínes in the entire county. Parking is plentiful, since it shares space with a few auto mechanic places. The interior has a south of the border vibe with colorful hanging decorations and various tchotchkes for sale. The waitress was really friendly and answered my questions, went with her suggest of the Mole Rojo with a side of Mole chips and chapulínes aka grasshoppers. The chicken was very tender and the sauce complimented both the chicken and rice. The chapulínes were well cooked and seasoned. Overall, great experience.

The food is great and the service is good. We definitely recommend to friends and family. Nice and small location.

Delicious and authentic Oaxacan restaurant located in a small plaza which is easy to miss, but definitely worth finding. While it looks small from the outside, there's plenty of seating inside with booths and tables. If you love mole, this is the place for you. The menu has great options, and the Oaxacan-style mole is as authentic as it gets. I ordered the mole rojo plate, which came with rice and two pieces of chicken (leg and thigh) in a rich red mole sauce. Simple, comforting, and absolutely delicious. It took me back to my childhood and my abuelita's cooking. They start you off with complimentary tortilla chips topped with mole and cotija cheese, which was a nice touch. The only downside was the service. Even though it wasn't crowded on a Saturday afternoon, the staff was hard to find. My wife ordered a Mezcalito flight right when we sat down, but it didn't arrive until halfway through our meal and only after reminding the staff three times. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there is street parking nearby. Hopefully, the service improves on our next visit, because the food truly makes this spot worth returning to.

this place has been on my list for a while and finally got a chance to go. we went for breakfast on a Sunday morning and there was no wait at all. Unfortunately the staff was telling us that business has been slow due to the impact of the ICE kidnappings. So please try to go support if you can! We started off with cafes de olla and it was just the perfect balance of sweetness. for food, we ordered salsa de chicharrón and huevo al comal with a side of quesillo. The food overall was sooo delicious and tasted authentic and homemade. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

If you love Mole this place for you. Great menu choices and authentic for Oaxaca cuisine on the Mole . Just the right portion served Enjoyed a plate with white buttery rice with two pieces bone-in chicken in red mole sauce. Definitely order the cafe-de-olla w/pan so yummy and a good way to start your meal . So far my favorite coffee. Order and try is the Tasajo plate "wow" has a bit of everything. It won't disappoint. Very cute and festive inside the restaurant Parking can be a tough ,service was okay

Saw this on instagram and decided to pop in to see if a certain Latin American female influencer was on point or not. This isn't the first time I try a place she recommends, and I have come to find out that our tastes are not that similar. There's my preface. Onto the novel.. Parking stinks during the week. It's in a strip mall with a skin care place, a dog grooming place and a mechanic. There are probably no more than 18 parking spots that are shared by all four of these businesses. If you're mathy like me, that's 4-5 spots per business. I was lucky to find the last spot, my friend was not and had to park in the lot outside of the Vallarta market next door. Walking in, the place is cute and moderately sized. The decor is quaint. I wish that the service had been better. I felt rushed. The waitress came to our table almost immediately to ask what we wanted without giving us time to look at the menu. It wasn't that busy, so I'm not sure what the rush was. It almost made me want to just leave to be honest. But I'm not a quitter so... The food. Menu was underwhelming. Descriptions and pictures were minimal so I had to ask a lot of questions, which seemed to annoy our rushed waitress. They seem to favor using mozzarella cheese, which I found to be odd. All of their drinks are bottled. No fresh squeezed juice, and their "alcoholic" drinks seem to be wine/beer based. Was curious to try the hot chocolate, but they only sell it with bread. At $5.95, it was a bit on the high side for me. Finally decided on the chilaquiles de frijol and a cafe de olla. My friend got the chorizo con huevo. The food wasn't horrible, but it wasn't memorable either. The cafe, on the other hand, was some of the best cafe de olla I have tasted. We waited a long time to get the check (had to ask multiple times), and when it did we were informed that there was a $1 surcharge for using a credit card. Although the cafe de olla was really good, it wasn't enough to save this place. They had people coming in to eat that seemed to be local from the community so I guess this is the best that Baldwin Park has to offer. As for me, onto the next spot!

If you love a great authentic Mole then you need to checkout this restaurant. The sauce is packed with great flavor, you get sweet and savory with a hint of spice! I was having a hard time deciding if I wanted to order Mole or Enchiladas Verdes. Then the waiter brought over some chips which had a drizzle of the mole sauce and I was convinced the mole is what I needed! The dish is served with white rice and homemade corn tortillas. The chicken was so tender, it easily fell off the bone and was drenched in that beautiful sauce. I highly recommend ordering the mole. My son ordered the Chorizo con Huevo with flour tortillas and he absolutely loved it and the refried pinto beans. Lastly, my mother ordered the Mole Enchiladas con Pollo and she loved her dish. To drink we ordered Cafe De Olla which was delicious, Agua de Piña and Horchata. All drinks were packed with flavor and delicious. This restaurant is using quality ingredients and taking the extra time to make it authentic. I highly recommend dining here for any occasion. I would recommend arriving early because parking is limited. All of the servers are waiting every table and someone is always asking if you're enjoying your meal.

México lindo y querido, si muero lejos de ti... We found our favorite Mexican restaurant. Tried this place after another Yelpers review. This spot is perfectly close to our church so we plan to go after Mass on Sundays (except Easter Sunday they will be closed). The food was all delicious! It was Good Friday so no meat, but even with no meat the food tasted great! Try both the red and green salsa, neither too spicy but good flavor. Service was great, we were sat right away. They have high chairs for the little ones if they need it. Started with Quesadillas Fritas which usually come with chorizo but asked without it and the Tlayuda Oaxaquena with nopales. Kids ate quesadillas with frijoles y arroz. Aguas frescas horchata and Jamaica were very tasty and fresh. Finished with Chocolate De Leche Con Pan De Yema which my wife and kids all enjoyed. We were just in Huatulco a year ago so this was a perfect place to enjoy some great food from Oaxaca. The inside makes me think of being back in Mexico, I love the mural painted on the wall. We can't wait to get back and try more of the menu!

Delicious and affordable food. We walked in with a party of 12 and the waitress was able to accommodate us within 15 mins. I ordered enchiladas verdes, rice and beans-8/10. My boyfriend ordered the coloradito 9/10. Service was great, plenty of parking. Prices are very reasonable, hence why they get busy.

Tried this place for the first time. The staff was very attentive. Inside the restaurant people were taking picture under a fluorescent sign having that photo opportunity was a nice touch. The food was good and there were a lot of choices, I would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try!

The servers were friendly, but the service was lacking. Our food took quite a while to arrive, and they completely forgot my son's meal. Since it was just a simple bean and cheese burrito, it was frustrating that it was overlooked. Having a child at the table without food while everyone else was eating completely changed the mood of our dinner. The food itself wasn't authentic Mexican cuisine. It felt more like Americanized Mexican fusion, and overall it was just mediocre. Considering the higher prices, I expected much better quality and flavor. To top it off, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to the bill, which didn't feel justified given the level of service we received. Overall, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a quiet, family-friendly restaurant with attentive service and authentic Mexican food, this wouldn't be my recommendation.

The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. The service was just okay, but what really bothered me was being charged $17 for my daughter, who is only 2 years old. She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression
