First time having Filet Zarandeado (Red Snapper), and I am in love. It is marinated in a tomato base with garlic, soy sauce, dried chilies and worcestershire sauce. It is grilled in a wire basket over mesquite wood coals. This gives the fish a smoky flavor and orange glow. The plate was served with two large pieces of boneless fish, rice and beans ($23). I tried to "clean" my plate, but they served good portions. From the leftovers, I had fish tacos for lunch the next day. I've been coming to Mariscos Martin since the '90s, and it's still one of my go-to spots. You have to try the Camarones Sarandeados, they are perfectly grilled butterflied shrimp with a delicious marinade. This plate comes with the aceite de chile is very spicy, so a few drops go a long way! Another must-try is the Tostada de Camarón, which is always fresh and flavorful. The restaurant itself had a minor renovation about 10 years ago and could probably use a bit of updating, but honestly, the food is the main reason you come here. Service is consistently great the waitresses are always busy but do their best to take care of you quickly. One small downside is the walk-in musicians, which can get pretty loud and a bit overwhelming at times. Still, this place remains a family favorite and is definitely worth a visit. read more

Loved the service, but brush up on your high school Spanish or research items on the menu before you go in, I had a wonderful server that was very patient in explaining the dishes, I loved every bit of my selection "Filete Sarandeando" absolutely a marvelous Mariscos Martin house specialty, i had an octopus appetizer listed under tostadas. It's located in a commercial district and every parking space was taken, we parked a couple of blocks down the street but it was beautiful day for a walk! There was a line out the door on Sunday at 3:00 pm!! There's a sign of good food! A waitlist is on the counter so sign your name as soon as you arrive, and it's a cash only restaurant, so come prepared because it's definitely worth the visit. It's a small brightly colored dining room with a hum of a successful business, from our seats we watched as servers prepped the lemons on the bar. I thought it was a wonderful value for the meal we enjoyed. Hadnt been here in over 8 years but its still delicious. Had the camarones zarandeados and they were fire. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked.
