Cash only Or Zelle - that shouldn't stop you from coming to this Mariscos spot. Stopped in on a Tuesday and there were several bands waiting to Come in to perform. The food and service is great! Had the tostada and the whole fish. Everything is flavorful you won't be disappointed

Marvelous Mariscos Martin in La Puente. Loved the service, but brush up on your high school Spanish or research items on the menu before you go in, I had a wonderful server that was very patient in explaining the dishes, I loved every bit of my selection "Filete Sarandeando" absolutely a marvelous Mariscos Martin house specialty, i had an octopus appetizer listed under tostadas. It's located in a commercial district and every parking space was taken, we parked a couple of blocks down the street but it was beautiful day for a walk! There was a line out the door on Sunday at 3:00 pm!! There's a sign of good food! A waitlist is on the counter so sign your name as soon as you arrive, and it's a cash only restaurant, so come prepared because it's definitely worth the visit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small brightly colored dining room with a hum of a successful business, from our seats we watched as servers prepped the lemons on the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was a wonderful value for the meal we enjoyed. My dish was perfectly seasoned, she did give me a small dish with some type of seasoning but it knocked my socks off:-) Our good friends told us about this restaurant, and they were absolutely right!

    Camarones zarandeados

Hadnt been here in over 8 years but its still delicious. Had the camarones zarandeados and they were fire. The shrimp were huge and perfectly cooked. The chili oil they give you is spicy and compliments the shrimp really well. The beans were flavorful and the rice was great. Customer service was on point.

Our second time here, both times were FANTASTIC!!!!!! First off, the Micheladas con clamato are made with love. They are so delicious. We ordered a parrillada de mariscos and were warned it was huge lol and yes!!!! It was HUGE! It could feed 5 to 6 people easily, I feel like the picture on the menu didn't so it justice. There was 3 types of shrimp, 3 types of fish, octopus, and crab legs. It was ALL seafood, no filler underneath. It came with a side of rice with a pig face lol the shrimp stew was so tasty. Definitely my new favorite mariscos spot. The staff were also wonderful, sweet ladies work here.

My Mexican friend's mother brought us here for lunch to celebrate my birthday. We waited for maybe 15-20 minutes, since it was packed inside. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But I feel like taking it to-go would be a bit more practical since it was a little too loud and lively for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I tried the shrimp tostada and enjoyed it. It was probably one of the healthiest meals I've had eating out. I liked how they had multiple hot sauces on the table and complimentary tortilla chips with salsa. The tostada was also multi-grain, which was so yummy. My friend ordered one of the mixed seafood things, and I loved the octopus. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have one of those jukeboxes inside where you can pay to listen to a song, but the restaurant itself had music playing inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It appears they also stopped having a band perform live music on the weekends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Also, payments are only accepted through cash or Zelle!

The fish and their spicy oil are the star here. Together they are what foodie dreams are made of. We originally came here out of a personal recommendation and I've been back many times, to this location and their other location (the other one has better beans). The thing to get is their fish and the chili oil, which is so spicy and addictive. I once ordered their shrimp and it was not worth it. The fish is always perfectly cooked, moist, never fishy, and well seasoned. The service always is friendly and welcoming despite the language barrier. Cash only, tight parking lot.

Aguachile sin aguacate.. le pedi un side de aguacate y cobran DIES $10 dolares por UN aguacate
    Mariana M.

They serve the aguachiles here WARM.. NO AVOCADO and if you want a side of avocado its $10 TEN dollars!!! The ladies who work here don't give the best service and you will wait very long to order your food and long to receive your food/ get the waitress attention. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is only nice when the musicos are playing music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are also so many flies inside of the restaurant![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Hands down, the BEST fish plate I've ever had in my entire life! I don't even know how to describe the spices they use,it's like a flavor explosion that you just can't find anywhere else. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, just perfect all around. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe at Mariscos Martin makes the experience even better. They've got music playing, the environment is upbeat and fun, and every staff member I interacted with was super friendly and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You can really tell they care about both the food and the people. If you're even thinking about seafood, do yourself a favor and come here. I'm already planning my next visit!

La parrillada de mariscos! WOW For the price, you cannot go wrong. $100 will feed 8 people maybe more.

CASH Only A huge plate of chips greets you upon seating. We both ordered the house speciality, pescado sarendero and shrimp sarendero 50/50 plate. Ask for this 50-50, as it's off menu. It difficult to find restaurants that serve this dish. The fish was so tender but the shrimp were overcooked, but had delicious flavor from the spices. This dish comes with a demon hot chili oil on the side. Their rice and beans are really good. Flavoring spices used are amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We went for an early Thursday dinner and it was mostly full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is very popular with strolling musicians who will take requests for donations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is really tight.

Been coming to this hidden gem since I was a kid! It is still my dad's favorite restaurant to this day. When you're in the mood for Mariscos In the 626- you need to come here! They are well known for their zarandeado (fish and shrimp). All plates come with rice beans and salad. They greet you with chips and salsa. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The michis are good overall a friendly family environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Always have only taking cash but now they do take Zelle- no credit cards. That's how you know it's authentic food.

When you walk in the door, the counter on the left is for paying and checking in. Write your name down and wait to be called. Or, you can walk to the back and sit at the bar and have a drink. After my name was called, my wife and I got seated and asked for our drink order right away. We were brought out chips and salsa as well as a house-made oily sauce. Their secret sauce is super delicious, on anything! It's like the fried chili crisp but blended smoother with some additional seasoning. Put it on the salsa and eat it with the chips, yum! We ordered shrimp tostada and it came right away, it was the perfect appetizer, and it's quite huge too! Roughly 8" round and about 4" tall. I ordered the fish plate, and my wife ordered the shrimp plate. Her shrimp plate had lots of shrimps. They tasted ok, but like it was missing seasoning or it was light on it. Lots of flavor on the shell side, but not on the flesh side. The shrimps were over-cooked too, all shells stuck on the flesh. The fish plate was the best I've ever had! Large fish filets, well-flavored and seasoned! Must-try! Make sure to order it if you're reading this! Get the fish! Filete Sarandeado. Definitely try! Must visit! Highly recommended!

Now the food.... I had the Chon's Breakfast Comal. The chorizo was ok. Lacked quite a bit of flavor. Potatoes tasted kinda like they were boiled and then finished in a sauce, then plated. The bell peppers and onions were fantastic. A lot. But they were cooked well. Over easy eggs were decent, despite one of them being cooked all the way through. Comal was perfect temperature. But insanely greasy (which is expected from chorizo). Rice. Eh... Rice is rice. Wasn't bad. But was all "Oh my goodness this is amazing." Beans tasted like the refried Rosarita's can. Just topped with cheese. The salsa. It was pretty good. The 1st time. Until I found a hair. Then I was given a 2nd one. And when I decided to eat it, it was no good. It was starting to spoil. I realized this once I put it on a bite I was about to take and immediately put it in my food i was about to chew in my napkin. After about 15 minutes when my server finally came by, I told her of the situation. She said "I'll go check." Then disappeared. Someone else gave me the check, and then someone else brought the receipt. The initial server didn't pop up until I was getting up to walk out. So no manager interaction. No "we'll comp your coffee." Just a "Sorry you didn't like it." As I walked out. Ambiance is cool, but some table placement doesn't make sense. That needs to be addressed. Will I come back here? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. But I'm talking like 80 no /20 yea. So I guess we'll see.. So I'm giving this place 1 star. I'm sorry, but this is my opinion based on my 1st experience here. Maybe it'll be better. We'll see....
