For many years this has been my families favorite local Torta restaurant. Parking is a hit or miss near the entrance as it is located in a busy shopping center- the restaurant is located to the right so its parking is limited to sharing with near by stores. My go-to menu item has always been the torta Cubana. Although, I felt that they have recently made them a bit smaller than what I recall but regardless the taste is great. My absolute favorites about this place are the Aguas frescas, if I don't get a watermelon water it will always be my horchata (10/10), if you like your drinks on the sweeter side these are definitely for you. Service is always good here, the waitress was very attentive and offered plenty of help! They have plenty of seating so that's never a worry as well. I recommend trying a Torta from here if you're in the area!

    price comparison to place.

Terrible. Literally -1/10. Avoid wasting your money and time. THIS PLACE IS SO DISGUSTING AND SMELLS SO AWFUL.. I always dine in at the Fontana Ca location and it's wonderful. This place must be ran by someone else because this is so awful. I'm not even exaggerating this place smells musty. The food is not good either. I ordered a Pollo especial torta and the cheese they use is so different than the Fontana location. This was such a terrible experience and it is not inexpensive. Save your money and time this place is awful. Fontana location is so good and I would recommend 10/10.

I lived in this area for the last 15 years... and although i have seen this place many times, i never actually got the chance to stop by. The restaurant itself is huge and has plenty of seating for multiple families or if you decided to dine in solo. The service was fast. I received my food and drinks in probably about 10 minutes around 9 pm on a Sunday. I ordered 2 Tortas (The Fonda and the Picosita), 2 tacos (asada + marinated pork), and a watermelon juice. The watermelon juice was one of the tastiest and refreshing juice i have had in a long time. Easily 5/5. The tacos were good... but, not great. Rate them 3/5. I suppose the mishap here is no cilantro/onion. It just comes out pure meat with a bit of guac. The salsas could use a bit more flavor as well (both the green and the red). The are very generous with the salsas and sides of (carrots, onions, and peppers) though. The tortas were both good 4/5. I would have given a 5/5 if they didn't come out so soggy. They literally were soaking in juices (probably from all the onions, peppers and other fillings. Still... it would have been good to have a solid sandwich that i didn't have to use a fork with. Solid torta spot dispite the few things they could easily remedy. The juices are so good. This spot could live off selling those alone and they have healthy options of pure vegetables juiced. I will definitely be coming back here.

    Torta de Lomo Especial

On an average day, Tortas Sinaloa will cure your midday hunger. This was an average day... the service was average, my torta was average, and the waitime I would consider longer than average - especially for what is basically a sandwich. At least the music was good and the aguas frescas were delcious and refreshing. The restaurant itself is pretty simple. The kitchen is in the back. That is where the meats are grilled and the tortas are panni-pressed. This is what makes it Sinaloa-style suppose. Most tortas are actually not pressed. If you ask them not to press it, they won't, but then it's not Sinaloa style. Cada quien/To each his own. Along one side is the counter that runs the length. Behind it, the servers whip up bionicos and fill cups with delicious aguas frescas. The aguas are probably the best part of this place. They come in about 10 flavors from watermelon to cucumber to cantaloupe. I was suspicious that the meat in my Lomo (ribeye) Especial was actually not Lomo. It looks more like a chuck roast that was braised and then shredded. Ribeye doesn't shred. It cuts. I can say it was good enough for lunch at a strip mall with a Home Depot as the anchor.

The servers were friendly, but the service was lacking. Our food took quite a while to arrive, and they completely forgot my son's meal. Since it was just a simple bean and cheese burrito, it was frustrating that it was overlooked. Having a child at the table without food while everyone else was eating completely changed the mood of our dinner. The food itself wasn't authentic Mexican cuisine. It felt more like Americanized Mexican fusion, and overall it was just mediocre. Considering the higher prices, I expected much better quality and flavor. To top it off, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to the bill, which didn't feel justified given the level of service we received. Overall, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a quiet, family-friendly restaurant with attentive service and authentic Mexican food, this wouldn't be my recommendation.

I don't know why this was my first time visiting Pepe's, there is a location in Alhambra that's been there forever and really close to where my parents live, but I never went there for whatever reason. But I'm really happy with my first visit at Pepe's. Prices are fair for what you get ($10 for the breakfast burrito) and the lady at the register was really helpful in accommodating my request for a modified burrito. I loved reading the history of the company and the owners on the wall while we waited for our food. The burritos were HUGE, hearty and tasty! The lady gave me a bunch of salsas to try and they were all good. I was totally satisfied with my meal! I didn't know until after I paid and saw my receipt that there is a credit card processing fee. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. The service was just okay, but what really bothered me was being charged $17 for my daughter, who is only 2 years old. She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression

We were seated promptly by the hostess and our server came quickly to get our drinks. He was nice and checked in on us often and took plates away. The only thing I wouldn't order again is probably the mango michelada. My boyfriend and I love michis! But hmmm the mango tasted like mango which is accurate but for some reason it just didn't really work well with the taste of a michelada. I would just order a regular one next time! Just because we didnt like it, doesn't mean you wont or shouldn't try! Anyways, the food was fresh and good! I just kept eating the fresh tortillas haha they were absolutely delicious. Ummm their caldo de res ?! Amazing. Got like four servings haha couldn't help myself. I personally just love a shit ton of cilantro and onions on my plate so it was really nice they had a salsa bar next to the soups. My boyfriend liked the breakfast bar they had as well which I think stops at a certain time! They had a lot of different things and I loved that! The only thing that was sort of awkward but funny was this girl randomly came up out of nowhere while we were eating and asked us to get closer so she could take a photo for us. We were kind of like huh? Haha because we were in the middle of eating so I wasn't really wanting to take a photo at that time. But we just went with it and smiled and then she took a couple more and then she said ok I'll be right back. And then maybe like 10 min later she comes back with one smaller photo with the border being Guadalajara's grill like location and times and stuff and us in the middle HAHA and then says that's for us and it's free and then takes out two more bigger ones of us that are just in like a felt frame, which was nice but said these cost like can't remember how much it was. But it was enough for me to say no hahaha and also I think we were both just caught off guard and when we said no thank you, she sort of looked up at someone (almost like signaling them that we said no) and gave a smirk and walked away HAHAH it was so awkward and weird but when I opened my purse later and found it I started laughing bc it just created a funny moment and memory. Anyways this place is good, seems hit or miss but definitely should be tried at least once! Very fresh and good, service is fast and attentive! This is probably the cheapest lunch buffet I've had and it was definitely worth it!
