    Mexican style breakfast burrito.

This place is a staple in the community. This restaurant flies under the radar but is always consistent in quality food, nice atmosphere and good service. We came today for the breakfast and it was great. The huevos ranchero with chili verde is amazing, 3 eggs over easy were perfect and the rice and beans just like Nana used to make. This place survived the pandemic and is family owned and run. Will come back again!

We recently had brunch to celebrate a birthday and we were extremely happy with the personal care and attentive staff. We had 3 entrees, salad and two side dishes and a soft drink for $35 - $40 per person. There is a main dining room, a separate banquet room for large group gatherings. To the right of the entrance is a bar with TVs to watch sports. They are serve lunch and dinner in the bar. The decor and color scheme was very nice with murals, plants flowers, and art pieces throughout the restaurant. Please note there plenty of free parking in the shared lot. Bring your family and friends and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

A cozy and comfortable atmosphere with home style cooking! Love the service, very quick and pleasant. Food was pretty good! :) There was flavor too the beans and rice, chips and salsas were delicious as well. Came last minute and the food still tasted fresh and was quick to come out. Would recommend to come if your around the area and would want some home cooked mexican cuisine!

The parking is quite ample, with an attentive security guard patrolling here and there. Inside, there's some space to wait and a few coin-operated toy capsule vending machines, which start your dinner experience with a bit of nostalgia. There is plenty of room to sit on either side of the restaurant, with some patio space as well. The bar is well-equipped with great draft beer specials. They even carry some hard-to-find Coke products like Strawberry Fanta or Cherry Coke. On the menu, you'll find your traditional favorites, from enchiladas all the way to hamburgers for those picky eaters in your party. The chips they bring out for the table are always fresh and perfectly salted, accompanied by two fresh, house-made salsas. My favorite dish on the menu is the Mom's Burrito. It is packed with tender pieces of shredded beef and loaded with guac and sour cream. I've had the pleasure of eating here several times and recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal. Compliments to the owners and all the amazing, hardworking staff.

One of those old "hot plate" restaurants where you can get a combo plate with rice and beans smothered in cheese. If that description appeals to you, then you'll most likely like it here. I wish there were more booths and the environment was a little darker to complete that old school vibe (like Casa Vega), but no complaints from me or the group I was there with. We purposely chose El Sombrero over the "healthier" or "fresher" options so the three stars reflects that. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was good. And the chips and salsa were replenished frequently.

Visited this morning for the first time with 23 of my closest friends. With such a big group you'd think the service would be lagging but NOPE!! The service was great. Our server Erica was attentive and for the first time ever brought me a "sample" of the menudo so I could decide if it was too spicy. That's A1 service. The gentleman who brought our drinks and kept the chips flowing (didn't catch his name) was never far behind. We all agreed the food was delicious as well. Please check this place out. I don't think you'll be disappointed

Deborah, the owner, is incredible and truly passionate about sharing Oaxacan cuisine the right way. You can feel that intention in every dish. The guacamole is fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced--simple ingredients, done right. Their Oaxacan horchata deserves special recognition: lighter, more nuanced, and less cloying than the typical version, with a flavor profile that feels thoughtful and refreshing rather than overly sweet. This was also my first time trying chapulines, and it couldn't have been a better introduction. Knowing they're sourced directly from Oaxaca adds so much meaning to the experience. Earthy, savory, and surprisingly approachable--an authentic taste of regional tradition that you don't find easily. El Ruizenor Grill isn't just a restaurant--it's a cultural experience. If you appreciate food with history, integrity, and soul, this spot in Temple City is a must-visit. I'll absolutely be back.

The only bad thing was that it tasted more like a can of tomato sauce. It wasnt spicy at all. Very bland. The chilequiles with rice and beans were good except that the cook made my eggs well done instead of sunny side up. They looked like pancakes on the bottom of the egg. Anyways, loved tge chumpurado. The best I've had in a long time. They serve it in a cute coffee mug. Overall, not bad. I may go back for the presentation and price
