Not sure where all the bad reviews are coming from I personally visited this establishment yesterday with my family and upon entering the establishment you were welcomed with a warm smile. We were seated in the second room as the first room was completely booked for a birthday celebration. After being seated we received immediate attention and our orders were taken. Customer service was above par and very impressed on how attentive the waitresses were to my family. Now let's get to the food. We ordered the Molcahete, steak plate, sopes plate and taquito plate. All were delicious. Portions were large and ended up having to take some home. As a matter of fact I had my left over for lunch today and it was still good. The ambiance was amazing. Dont think ive ever seen such a diverse group of patrons at a Mexican restaurant.

This place is a staple in the community. This restaurant flies under the radar but is always consistent in quality food, nice atmosphere and good service. We came today for the breakfast and it was great. The huevos ranchero with chili verde is amazing, 3 eggs over easy were perfect and the rice and beans just like Nana used to make. This place survived the pandemic and is family owned and run. Will come back again!

We recently had brunch to celebrate a birthday and we were extremely happy with the personal care and attentive staff. We had 3 entrees, salad and two side dishes and a soft drink for $35 - $40 per person. There is a main dining room, a separate banquet room for large group gatherings. To the right of the entrance is a bar with TVs to watch sports. They are serve lunch and dinner in the bar. The decor and color scheme was very nice with murals, plants flowers, and art pieces throughout the restaurant. Please note there plenty of free parking in the shared lot. Bring your family and friends and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya!

A cozy and comfortable atmosphere with home style cooking! Love the service, very quick and pleasant. Food was pretty good! :) There was flavor too the beans and rice, chips and salsas were delicious as well. Came last minute and the food still tasted fresh and was quick to come out. Would recommend to come if your around the area and would want some home cooked mexican cuisine!

The parking is quite ample, with an attentive security guard patrolling here and there. Inside, there's some space to wait and a few coin-operated toy capsule vending machines, which start your dinner experience with a bit of nostalgia. There is plenty of room to sit on either side of the restaurant, with some patio space as well. The bar is well-equipped with great draft beer specials. They even carry some hard-to-find Coke products like Strawberry Fanta or Cherry Coke. On the menu, you'll find your traditional favorites, from enchiladas all the way to hamburgers for those picky eaters in your party. The chips they bring out for the table are always fresh and perfectly salted, accompanied by two fresh, house-made salsas. My favorite dish on the menu is the Mom's Burrito. It is packed with tender pieces of shredded beef and loaded with guac and sour cream. I've had the pleasure of eating here several times and recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal. Compliments to the owners and all the amazing, hardworking staff.

One of those old "hot plate" restaurants where you can get a combo plate with rice and beans smothered in cheese. If that description appeals to you, then you'll most likely like it here. I wish there were more booths and the environment was a little darker to complete that old school vibe (like Casa Vega), but no complaints from me or the group I was there with. We purposely chose El Sombrero over the "healthier" or "fresher" options so the three stars reflects that. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was good. And the chips and salsa were replenished frequently.

Came after a long day at the dodger parade the service was good and the employee's are nice restaurant was inviting appetizer was good sized and tasted good. Would come back again. Parking is a little congested and limited.

It's been a few years since I've been here, but happy i gave them a try. It's not my typical Mexican joint, as i prefer smaller mom and pop places, but we used to come here for work lunches and they cater to all tastes which is good. Bottom line, they have good food at decent prices. Was here again for lunch during a work day and have to say they were super fast with the food and love chips and salsa which were delivered as soon as we sat down. Big plus when you are in a hurry. They no longer have buffet lunches, which I preferred cause you got to try a little bit of everything, but served the purpose for todays work lunch. For for to take pictures of food, but I had the mom's burrito with carnitas and work mate had the carne asada plate. Both were items I would order again, but honestly his carne asada plate looked really good and probably what I will order next time :)

The wait was long, but it was expected, and we weren't in any rush. The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the chorizo con papas, which came with beans and handmade tortillas. Everything was amazing, and I can't wait to go back. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. We sincerely apologize for that. Thank you to the entire staff for your patience, kindness, and hospitality. We truly appreciate you giving us the time to catch up, and we'll definitely be back--for the amazing food and the exceptional service.

I liked that they use refried beans inside, and the overall flavor was good. My only issue was the meat to rice and beans ratio. There was definitely a lot more rice than carne asada, and I would've liked a little more meat in there. Overall, the burrito was good and the portion was a decent size, but I think it would've been much better with more carne asada. I noticed their wet burrito seems pretty popular, so that's probably what I'll try next time.
