Stopped by for burritos and tacos, and I have to say this place is outstanding. The food is full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and made with care. I had to come in for menudo but saw sopes being made. I just had to try them and ordered a asada and carnitas on, oh and my menudo. Well I got home and found out I over did it! The sopes were HUGE! Came here on a whim with my daughter. So glad we did. Food is amazing staff is great. Medudo was so good. Reminds me of eating at my grandma's table. My daughter loved her asada burrito too. The aguas frescas are soo good they are full of flavor and not watered down like other places I've been to. This place definately does not disappoint. Cute little restaurant. Definitely recommend 100%. As a Mexican I am very picky and find it hard to find good mexican food while I am out and about. Will definitely come back and bring others with me. read more

But I got the chile relleno instead. I always get chile relleno in every new Mex place I visit...no matter what...the plate was a feast for the eyes, lots of delicious sauce...scary how many sliced jalapeños but no seeds so not spicy....looking under the chile relleno was not whole or breaded, it looked roasted and not clear if it was stuffed...looked to me like the pepper was sliced or shredded but definitely the stem was in evidence. A puzzling dish as the taste of the sauce was good but couldn't tell if the cheese was inside the nearly absent relleno or simply melted on top along with the blanket of sauce. 3/5. The rice was flavorful, fluffy 4/5..I liked the frijoles 4/5 but it was a small portion like the size of my palm. I got three corn tortillas, hot to touch, and chewy which I liked. 5/5. The combination also came with salad with radishes and sliced tomato, cut lettuce. I could tell if there was a dressing or not. 3/5 Next time -- order what my fellow Yelpies recommended...the wet burritos, the menudo, or the tacos....or their namesake.. taquitos. But pass on the chile relleno. Oh - the Jamaica was good, and the cup was gigantic!! Nice balance of sweet and tart. I never got a check so I just walked up to counter. I rang up at about $24 before tip...the menu said the chile relleno was about $15, so just how much was that big drink? True Authentic Mexican Food. Aguas were fresh. We ordered Tamarindo and Piña. Salsa given upon arrival was delicious and paired well with our food. My husband ordered carne asada sopes and I ordered the huevos a la Mexicana. My plate came with fresh flour tortillas. Beans were fresh and not from a can. I highly recommend. The restaurant is on a busy street and can be easy to miss. Inside reminded me of going to abuelitas house in Mexico. read more

The food is good here but very expensive. What I don't like, is that they charge $3.50 for a can of soda. You can get a 12 pack of soda for $5.00. And the owners are charging $3.50 for one can. $3.50 times 12 is $42.00 dollars. The owners are making $42.00 dollars off a 12 pack of soda that they only paid $5 dollars for. It didn't disappoint. The fish was a great size. Perfectly seasoned. The fries aren't frozen. They're perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was so much food. I couldn't finish it. The rice had great flavor too. My dad and his girl were happy with the menudo. It was a good portion. They give tostadas with 2 homemade chiles. Someone on social media had mentioned this place has the best Pozole around, and they were right, it was excellent. The chili Verde was also delicious. My husband said the salsa that came with the chips reminded him of his mom's. The people are very friendly and welcoming. It's a very small place with about six to eight tables, but it is very cozy and comfortable. We will be back to try more. read more

My hubby bought a chile relleno plate and a wet burrito for to-go. One star for large portions, yes, and another star for the tasty frijoles. Other than that, I was really disappointed with the chile relleno! It had more sautéed onions than anything else. The sauce was too thin and not flavored enough, and the chile itself was not coated in an even amount of egg batter. Very soggy and the cheese was hard. I'm surprised many people gave it good rating. It's a small mom and pop shop near the El Monte DMV. I was hungry and looking for something near by. Once you enter it's super cozy and the environment is so lively. Everyone seemed super happy and smiley. I got the wet burrito (they recommend the green sauce). You can watch them make it in front of you, which I think is nice. Its prepared reasonably fast too. Wet burrito 4/5: it's huge and definitely something I couldn't finish in one sitting. Price is 11.99 before tax. I think it's pretty worth it considering the amount. The flavors were pretty good. I wouldn't say it's the best burrito I've had, but it's pretty darn good. I think the general vibe and welcoming staff is what really sells the place! Found this small gem near my work place. Owners are friendly and customer friendly. They have multiple beer selection and michies available. Food has authentic Mexican flavor, ordered the Chile verde green pork today. Green Chile was not to spicy and just perfect. They were super rude and not accommodating for elders. Would never come here again. There is no access for a wheelchair to go into the restrooms or even into the restaurant it's self. If you want to take your grandparents out for lunch I'd find a different restaurant. That is more kind and accommodating because this place wasn't it. read more
