Stop by because we were trying to find something we hadn't tried before. We, was my son and I. So we wanted to try a little bit of everything some new and familiar dishes. We tried the house made Horchata, my son was not a fan because it was a little too sweet and watery for him. He liked the taquito, and left when it got hollowed out. He said it was really tasty and salty that fits his palette. The salsa for the chips was not spicy for my taste. I think it's good for people who can't handle spice and kids. However, they did offer some great spicy sauces for their plates. The dark red sauce and the green sauce both packed heat and great flavor. The Menudo I ordered was rich and tasty. Ordered the Oaxaca taco, it was different, but it was so well seasoned overall my son and I both like splitting it. The one item that I don't have picture posted was the grasshoppers, yes, I do mean grasshoppers. My husband and I are both adventurous eaters, and when we went to Japan, the ones we tried were sweet and salty, this one was not our favorite because it was a little too salty and tangy from the lemon juice. However, overall, the service was great. I love the fact that the ladies were very helpful and their recommendations. The place was clean and did not have a lot of loud music, so we were able to have good conversation and enjoy our time together. We will definitely be coming again to try some other dishes as well. I would recommend try and get at least once. We always like to try new things, so we would suggest trying something you know and something different.

Cuisine is Mexican and Oaxaca and nicely prepared. Complimentary basket of tortilla chips with a mild-sweet salsa are delivered to the table as we settled in to order our beverages . Server gave us time to peruse the menu to decide what to order. Our choices were filling and flavorful: horchata, margarita, quesadilla, caldo de res, grilled fish plate. We dined-in and enjoyed the pleasant, cheerful decor and the background music. Street parking in front of the restaurant was available on a Sunday evening. The rear parking lot is somewhat dark and the back entrance is locked.

Absolutely a must try place . They have regular Horchata or Oaxaca's Horchata ,ask for a sample. Service was excellent the girls are so helpful and sweet and very patient since I was new to the restaurant and menu. Had the Mole plate ,10/10 and the Tlayuada w/2 meats another 10/10 this plate to traditional and fun to eat. I've had it at other restaurants and this is by far super delicious and great flavor ,the steak meat nice and soft and the chorizo great flavor. The best thing about this restaurant is their Chips ....... 100/100 so perfectly crispy and addicting! Salsa is great perfect balance of flavor. Can't wait to come back for breakfast. Ambiance is inviting.

Updating my review. Not only does this place have delicious food, the workers here are so kind and went out of their way to help when we had an incident during the visit. No Taco Tuesday today as today is Thursday. I took home 3 tacos after my meal even at regular price because they are so worth the price! I took a pic of their Happy Hours specials (see attached) so may be back soon for their other yummy items at discount!

Cute little family owned restaurant, the ambiance was nice with nice music at a right volume (some other places have very loud music, glad this was not like that). The ladies serving were very friendly and attentive, we enjoyed our meal. Their restrooms were very cleaned. We'll be back to try other dishes!

Decided to have dinner after work and came to el ruizeñor Grill..it's a mom a pops Mexican restaurant .. the inside is pretty big they have a lot of seating available inside and out. They have so many options in their meñu to choose from.. we went ahead and started with a guacamole for appetizer and they served us chips and salsa while we wait.. the salsa was so good.. and I'm not a fan of table salsa like that. The ingredients in the salsa tasted like it was made at home. Afterwards the guac came and oof ! The first thing I noticed was how huge the serving size was... the second thing I noticed was how delicious it was and well salted . I ordered the chille relleno and 2 tacos d asada since it was taco Tuesday they were $1.50 so I decided to dump my meat on top of my chille relleno.. it did not disappoint. Chile relleno was nicely made, my boyfriend ordered a torta d asada and it was served with fries. His torta was so huge! It had lettuce tomato cheese and avocado served on a real torta bread . We both tried the horchata .. and it was definitely different .. it had a fruity yet milky taste to it not bad at all ..the ladies working there were so nice and polite they were very attentive and made the experience great and also they took the time To explain how the horchata was made ... it's actually the fruit of the cactus we're drinking.. plot twisted me lol ... definitely give them a try!

Excellent service very attentive. The food was delicious and love the presentation. This is a hidden gem . My favorite was the cafe de olla not overwhelming sweet but just right . I had the trio chilaquiles and my husband had enchiladas.

So much better than Cafe de Olla and any other new joint around. Food taste so delicious and worker is so sweet. It is a smaller joint but def worth it

Wow, I didn't know that there was such a delicious Mexican restaurant so close to home! My dad has been wanting to try this restaurant ever since he saw someone eating a HUGE BURRITO here in passing. The interior is decorated with Mexican art and famous people painted on the walls. We came during Christmas time so they also had a tree and other nativity scenes displayed. The waitress was super nice as my family wanted to practice our Spanish with her. We ordered the following items: 1) Big Daddy Burrito - 10/10 This was SOOOO HUGE and so cheap. It was $20 and very delicious! There were three of us and we were so full after eating this. The inside was filled with ground beef, rice, beans, potatoes, and cheese. We decided to get both the red and green sauce on top. 2) Oaxacan Tortilla - 8/10 First time trying oaxacan meat and it tasted quite good! I liked how they made the tortilla fresh for you which was a treat 2) Horchata - 6/10 This was SOO big. I didn't expect them to serve it in a huge "wine" cup. However I think there was more ice than actual horchata, and the flavor wasn't too strong. Overall, I'd come back to try the other foods here. Due to the proximity and price, I enjoyed my time! The service was also great.

I've heard some good things about this place and from other fellow yelpers friends, it must be…read moreworth it. Had a dinner reservation with some girlfriends celebrating two of their birthdays. The restaurant itself isn't too big but it does a pack a nice punch. Cute patio out front that takes some of the sidewalks and streets. Plenty of heat lamps which helped with the chilly nights. We got seated at one of the tables on the patios which was nice. Didn't really utilize inside area except for the restroom which it's quite cute in there. The rooms were pretty well decorated and executed. Nice bar area too. Like mentioned, we got seated on the patio and the heat lamps were great. Down to the menus, it's quite limited on dishes. Seemed like there were more shared plates versus the entrees. Drinks, it was fairly decent with their cocktails and wine. Service at the beginning was great. The staff were amazing and very friendly. We didn't order right away as we were still waiting for the last one to show. But did start off with some drinks. It didn't take that long for the first round which was nice. Food wise, the shared plate was a mixture of everything. Some of the olives, which is exactly what it is. The Belgian fries, nice thick cut fries with shredded pecorino cheese and a nice aioli sauce. We ended up getting a second order of it. The albacore tuna crudo was a hit which was really tasty. Chili ginger relish, mint and shallot, can't go wrong with that. Lastly the meatballs, tasty and very great for sharing. Entrees, the pan seared sea bass which I loved. Portion is pretty tiny which also seemed like they were a shared plate. Almost tapas styled. Nice chimichurri sauce and a side salad. The chicken Milanese also with a side salad of arugula. Simple dish but quite tasty. One of the salads that was somewhat hyped up by the waitress but it was just a salad. Decent but nothing major to rave about...lol... also the confit oyster mushrooms was major hit. Something that simple but quite tasty. And lastly the pan con tomate, rustic sourdough with tomatoes and burrata. Tasty as well. Overall the meal was good. From there, the second round of drinks did take a long time to arrive and with then plates that we shared, trying to get someone to clear the plates was another thing. Took a long for someone to clear the table before more items came. Even when the entrees came, all the empty starter plates were still there. And if someone did clear the plates, some was still left on the table. Finishing off the night, we did have the dessert which we tried all three. As it was two of our girlfriends birthday, they brought out a little bubbly for us to celebrate with the dessert. That was quite sweet and nice. Honestly opinion with the dessert, they were just ok. Nothing major to rave about. We tried all three on the menu and they were just ok. Overall, the food was great. Service was nice and the staffs were all very friendly. It did take a while for plates to get cleared from the table and second round did take a while, but it was manageable. It was a sweet gesture with the bubbly with the dessert which was greatly appreciated. The place is nice and great for catching up. Menu is limited and portions are quite small. You would have to get a good amount for sharing. Entrees, depending on what you order is small as well. But we enjoyed ourself.

But the quality is definitely there. Ambiance: trendy, high energy, casual vibes where u can lounge and have a beer while munching on fries...or u can choose to be poshy and have a glass of wine with a salad and Chilean sea bass. It's flexible to accommodate both as there are different sections. Parking: street metered 1 hour parking. 3 stars, not their fault but 1 hour is simply not enough. It can get super busy and the server can be pulled left and right, so cut them some slack during super busy hours. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended .

I need to confess something to you: I love Chinese food. However, it wasn't until the last few…read moreyears where I've come to realize the distinctions between Hong Kong cuisine and mainland Chinese cuisine. It's been an exploration. But with each new Hong Kong style restaurant I try, the more expansive my view, and belly, get. Alice's Kitchen, specifically this one in Temple City, was a refreshing look at not just the food but the vibe as well. Design - Falling into a different world Walking into Alice's Kitchen from the back parking lot is like walking into a vibrant food court back in the 1980s. Bright neon signs are placed throughout the dining room floor, faux food stalls can be seen to give more of a community feel to the inside, and I love the sprawl of different props of newspapers, t-shirts hung on clotheslines, and big advertisements on the walls like you might see in a food court. It really elevated the atmosphere of the space and I loved their branded orange plates, bowls, spoons, and chopsticks. It gave whimsy to this place. Staff - Cool The staff here are like what you expect from any Chinese restaurant. You try to flag one down or grab their attention with your wandering eyes and when they come over you can tell them what you want. They take your order and usually within 5-7 minutes you'll start to see your food heading your way. Perfect for anyone hungry and dying to eat right away. When you ask for to-go boxes at the end of the meal (you definitely will) moments after you get your food packed someone will appear with a tablet ready for you to pay right there at the table. Talk about speed. Food - Onions galore I see that in Hong Kong cuisine there is this mix match of Western and Chinese tastes put together. This fusion of ideas is what brings something like their large pineapple bun sandwiches to existence. We got the BBQ pork (char siu) pineapple bun sandwich and this came warm with a fried egg, slab of butter, generous slices of BBQ pork, and a savory sauce. For one person, this could be a good main dish to be accompanied by a side. For this split between two people, this is a savory sweet dish perfect to wet the appetite. Highly recommend getting one of these. The sweet & sour pork was nostalgic to me. Served with chunks of white onion, green peppers, and pineapple the flavor of this reminded me very much of the sweet & sour pork Chinese-Korean restaurants serve, except for the color being different and no cabbage in the sauce. It has the sweetness brought out by the pineapple but still a bit of tang and deep savoriness of the pork with each bite. The onions were undercooked and you'll see this as a pattern for all their dishes containing onions. The French style filet mignon chunks were fantastic. Juicy and flavorful, each bite makes the mouth water more and more and the texture gave such pleasant mouth feels. The fried basil accompanying it also gave a burst of freshness and herbacious flavors. Just be careful not to accidentally bite into a chunk of ginger. Unless you love ginger. Then go right ahead. The beef chow fun with black bean sauce was great. Nice balance of their black bean sauce with the textures of the chunks of beef, the onions and peppers in this add a nice crunch and difference in flavor that balances all the savoriness. The tofu with spiced salt was also incredible. When I ate this still piping hot the crisp exterior with the hot soft interior made me smile. The spiced coating was flavorful and with some rice it gives a nice balance with each bite. Final Thoughts With all the food we got for dinner, I'm sure I leaned more into the Chinese cuisine side than the Hong Kong side. However, I was happy with the quality and depth of flavors in everything I had. Alice's Kitchen has definitely been one of the better Hong Kong restaurants I've had and I'm excited to explore more of this cuisine in the future. Can't wait to come back!

This is a burger joint with a diverse menu, including one of the biggest breakfast burritos in town. I got my burrito with bacon. The burrito comes with hashbrown style potatoes, eggs and cheese - you get a choice of ham, bacon or sausage for your meat (or have it without meat). The bacon was crispy and remained crispy when I reheated my other half. Not only is the bacon crispy, the burrito has a generous amount of it! Oh and the other plus - the tortilla does not come wet and soggy and remains in perfect condition if you have leftovers. The burrito comes with only one salsa and to be honest, you really do need two for such a big burrito. I'm a green salsa girl but I asked what I should go with and I was recommended the red one (the green one is supposedly spicier). The red salsa did not disappoint other than I needed one more for my whole burrito (there's no kick to this salsa but it's tasty). The burrito itself isn't bursting with flavor on its own and it requires the salsa to compliment the other ingredients. But, who eats a breakfast burrito without salsa? There is ample parking in their parking lot and there's seating both inside and outside. I will definitely be returning to satisfy my breakfast burrito craving very soon and if this is what you're looking for - stop reading reviews and go get you one at Lucky Boy (it's served all day).

So I was in the area and someone suggested Lucky Boy. Walk up ordering. Tables outside and inside…read more First impression was that tables in and out needed a cleaning. I always start off my ratings with cleanliness. I worked in a high volume restaurant back in the 70's. If you weren't doing something you were cleaning. Ordered the classic burger, fries and coke. Picked up my order after a short wait. Cleaned off my own table and sat down. Burger looked decent, fries looked amazing and can never say anything bad about a classic coke. First bite of the burger was a little disappointing. Burger was thin and seemed overcooked to me. I thought it was dry. Roll, lettuce, tomato, onion and mayo were ok. Not bad overall but for some reason I expected a better burger experience. Let's talk about the fries. Truly classic French fried potatoes. Perfectly cooked. Light golden color. Nice texture and flavor. What every French fry should look and taste like. Coke was great. Sorry to say I was not impressed by the burger. This was my experience on 05/09/2026. Could have been cleaner and maybe the burger not overcooked. Your experience may be totally different.

Food was okay, not as good as before, but the service was below par. Just because I don't speak…read moreMandarin doesn't mean I don't understand it. She already gave me an attitude when I ordered in English, and I definitely felt like I was treated differently because of it. I ordered four dishes for three people. After we were done eating, I asked for to-go boxes. She didn't give me a bag, so I figured they didn't have bags. Then I saw a man eating by himself ask for a to-go box and he was given a nice paper bag. Another lady next to me got one too. When I asked if I could have a bag, she was going to give me a paper one but then switched it to a plastic bag instead. I asked why she didn't give me a paper bag, and she said it wouldn't fit my two boxes, which doesn't make sense because all their to-go boxes are the same size. Why treat people like that just because they don't speak your language? Honestly, why treat anyone that way at all?

I'm sorry but I don't understand why people rave about this place…read more We came on Sunday around 12:30 and there's not much wait. The inside is very small and tight. It's the kind you eat and get out because it's just so small. It's clear that there's little touches with decor and they tried making it welcoming and fresh decor, but I didn't find them necessary or helpful because you can't possibly give high score with decor even the inside is this small and cramped. SERVICE - friendly and helpful. Offered to clean table with alcohol and will bring things as soon as we asked, the waitress was clear that she didn't want to take order from the table though, even if we are clearly ready and she was right there. We must either order online or go to counter. FOOD - everything is a bit different and odd. By the time we went the corn soup were gone so could not have combo which made the meal a bit pricy. The sizzling plate noodles although flavorful, are soggy. The meat patty felt cheap a bit dry and not particularly appetizing. For this kind of price it's unfortunately no real meat. The egg pancake added basil which frankly tastes weird. French fries had pepper which you will either love the extra spice or get turned off. Fried food was crispy and warm though. I really wanted to like this place as there's not a lot of Taiwanese restaurants and this one is nice and new. Unfortunately there's quite a few areas that could use improvement.
