Chuy was the best server. He took our order and didn't even have to write it down--- everything came out perfectly! I ordered the steak fajitas; large portion, flavorful and hot! My husband ordered the chicken mole enchiladas (cream on the side); authentic flavor, packed w chicken. Also the chicken torta, very good! Ordered chicken fajita plate, chicken mole enchiladas, enchilada with crab and the Al Mojo de Ajo. Out of all the dishes the De Ajo plate was the best. Nothing we ordered is out of the ordinary good. It was good nothing special, rice beans come with everything we ordered sans the Ajo. The Ajo came with vegetables. Nothing here had any kind of flavor that was outstanding . We absolutely love this place for their Sunday brunch buffet (11am-2pm). We came here for Easter Sunday and they had a live mariachi band. They have a taco and tortilla station outside while the omelet station, other hot foods and desserts were inside. They always have menudo and pozole, which I love. The variety of foods and desserts are on point and all delicious ( rice,beans, bacon, papas, chili rellenos, shrimp cocktail, cerviche, lengua, veggies, carnitas, birria, taquitos, flan, stuffed churros, macarons, etc). Their waitstaff is always kind and attentative. Their buffet price is about $30 per person including 3 mimosas or $40 per person for unlimited mimosas. We came here as guests for a baby shower and had the back event room with buffet style dinner. The food was not hot but the fajita mix was okay.. not good not great. The servers were attentive the first hour we were there and they slowly stopped picking up plates and brining drinks even though the party was still going strong. The room itself was nice but had zero windows. We went over the to the bar area which was way more fun and had windows lol the patio looked nice too. I'd come back to try the patio if we were in the area. But let me tell you the drinks are pricey!!! $32 for a vodka cran in a short glass and a spicy margarita. I was appalled. read more

They serve you two and they were staffed I was barely able to put the top in my mouth. (Lol). It came with rice, beans and guacamole. My husband had The Villa burrito with chicken (which was very tasty) and he asked for all black beans, no rice. They brought him a big bowl which he had to bring back home. Though, wish they had refilled my water automatically without having to ask. The Taquito Trio was filling and delish, good portion of rice and beans too. I've had catering from here twice now and I gotta say the Chile Verde and Mole Poblano are gooood. The pork in Chile verde isn't spicy but the sauce is flavorful and pork tender. Pour that over some rice and there you have it. The chicken in mole poblano isn't too sweet, nice savory mole again pair with rice and all set. Need to dine in here some day! read more

I was recently invited to Villa Catrina for lunch. It was Sunday Palm Sunday and although the restaurant was closing early , our waitress told us to take our time. The decor is very cute, Plenty of parking in the back. I had the pork with chile verde (delicious) my friend had the shrimp enchiladas, Good thing I took a picture of her plate before she devoured everything ..lol she said they were delicious . Great experience. At the entrance are the ladies making homemade tortillas and making tacos and quesadillas for the buffet. We arrived just 45 minutes after opening and they were packed and told we had to wait 30 minutes. Special shoutout to the manager Renato who immediately came to us and offered us a drink while we wait. We initially went with the intention of ordering off the menu but changed our minds for open buffet. Renato personally walked us to show us the options at the buffet and where everything was. Every single thing I tasted was fresh, seasoned perfectly and authentic. They have everything from birria, ceviche, enchiladas, omelet station, lengua in salsa verde, rice and beans, shrimp, waffles, fries, a salsa bar, aguas frescas, you name it. One of my favorites were the unlimited macarons! I mean, in Vegas you get 4 tiny ones for the price of this buffet. Everything was top notch and I can't wait to go back. My wife and I were in the area and looking for a good Mexican restaurant. We found Villa Catrina on Yelp--it was the closest spot and had great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. I was seriously craving enchiladas and chicken mole, and when I saw they had Chicken Mole Enchiladas on the menu, that sealed the deal. The place was packed, which we took as a good sign, and even so, we were seated right away out on the patio. The service was friendly and fast, and everyone made us feel welcome. I really liked the layout of this restaurant. It has a small outdoor dining area by the front entrance, a main dining room to the right with a bar and small stage for a band. Continue down the hallway and the kitchen and buffet service area is to the right and a small dining room on the left. Straight ahead is separate dining room perfectly setup for a private banquet room. We were with a large group of 50 guests and ate the buffet of enchiladas, chicken fajitas, chili verde, rice beans, and corn or flour tortillas. All dishes were tasty with the chili verde being most delicious, in my humble opinion. I found the service to be very welcoming and accommodating, the employees were extra attentive and polite. I liked how they checked on us and continue to refill our drinks, and bowls of chips and salsa. I plan to come here again and highly recommend them for occasions for groups of 30, 50 or 75 people.
