I found this place on Yelp, and the food looked really good, so I decided to give it a try. When I checked the payment options online, it clearly stated they accept debit and credit cards. However, when I got there, the parking was terrible, and as I approached to order, I noticed a sign on the window that said "Cash only." I was like, what the hell? I double-checked online, and it still showed that they accept credit cards. This is totally misleading and frustrating. They need to fix that and update their Yelp information because it's not cool to mislead customers like that. Honestly, who carries cash these days? I know places like this only take cash for tax purposes--trust me, I'm a CPA.

Mom and pop shop. Cash only! Their menu is large and extensive, including cheeseburger combos and fries/nachos with your choice of meat. My current go to is their lengua burrito and champurrado. :) Their portions are huge and fits the price range.

This place is IT! My family and I constantly come back here for their wet burritos and their campechana! The service is excellent, I think it might be a family running it but each worker has been kind every single time we have visited. The food is great, friendly service, and prices are pretty reasonable considering it's more of a home cooked meal than it is fast food. Only fault is that it's cash only so make sure you bring money when you visit.

Honestly, I love this place! I have been coming to this tiny little spot for years because it is so authentic! They recently changed owners, but the food is still really good, if not, even better! This place isn't really well known because of the location. It is literally in a residential area on Cogswell & Exline in El Monte, CA. What I love about this place is their tacos! I love their tripas, chorizo, fish tacos. Fish tacos on Monday & Wednesday are buy 1 get 1 free! Besides the tacos, they also have really good menudo, so I definitely have to try that out! If you're not trying to spend much money and just want to get a good taco fix, I would highly recommend getting the tacos here! CASH ONLY BTW!! :)

This is the kind…read moreof small business you feel good supporting--deeply rooted in tradition, made with care, and run with heart. Deborah, the owner, is incredible and truly passionate about sharing Oaxacan cuisine the right way. You can feel that intention in every dish. The guacamole is fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced--simple ingredients, done right. Their Oaxacan horchata deserves special recognition: lighter, more nuanced, and less cloying than the typical version, with a flavor profile that feels thoughtful and refreshing rather than overly sweet. This was also my first time trying chapulines, and it couldn't have been a better introduction. Knowing they're sourced directly from Oaxaca adds so much meaning to the experience. Earthy, savory, and surprisingly approachable--an authentic taste of regional tradition that you don't find easily. El Ruizenor Grill isn't just a restaurant--it's a cultural experience. If you appreciate food with history, integrity, and soul, this spot in Temple City is a must-visit. I'll absolutely be back.

The only bad thing was that it tasted more like a can of tomato sauce. It wasnt spicy at all. Very bland. The chilequiles with rice and beans were good except that the cook made my eggs well done instead of sunny side up. They looked like pancakes on the bottom of the egg. Anyways, loved tge chumpurado. The best I've had in a long time. They serve it in a cute coffee mug. Overall, not bad. I may go back for the presentation and price
