    Best late night food

Great service, quick and easy. Best asada tacos if you like just red sauce. It's not for everyone. Awesome burritos..my fav asada and chile relleno burritos. It's a little hole in the wall. I also like their fish n shrimp tacos. Been comimg here since they were Omañas's Tacos on Central & Rush. Great memories!!!

Well just beware the $9 burritos only have meat and beans so it falls apart easily Would love to see rice included in the nearby future... tacos de chicharron were pretty good

I got a recommendation to come here on a local forum. I've worked in the South El Monte area for over a decade. Driven past this place dozens of times but never tried. I've tried the Omanas when it was on Rush St well over a decade ago before it closed. I think they opened this one in 2018. I just ordered Carnitas Nachos and Carne Asada Quesadilla. The food is decent for the price. My usual place for Nachos is $10.88 and my usual place for meat quesadillas increased to $11.50 -- so the prices here are better but only slightly. I would not say the quality or portions are better. Their nachos uses shredded white cheese but I would prefer some of the yellow nacho cheese instead. Not a fan of the refried beans in the nachos. They do give two small containers of hot sauce and whole green peppers but the hot sauce is very mild more like tomato puree rather than pico de gallo or hot sauce. My usual quesadilla spot gives a dollop of sour cream and spicy hot sauce - which I think is better. There is lots of outdoor seating & a park across the street to enjoy your food. Food came out within a minute which is pretty fast. I wanted to like the place because of the prices. I would not get the nachos again but the meat quesadilla is a top contender to be my new quesadilla spot! Found their updated menu prices from their IG stories. Posting them now!

Carne asada taco with red sauce

Let me start off by saying that I've been eating these tacos since I was first introduced to them by my dad when I was less than 10 years old. It's been so long, I don't even remember how old I was at the time. So when I bite into these, I'm not just tasting their unique flavors. I'm also tasting a bit of nostalgia like the food critique in the movie Ratatouille. Having said that, you need to come give this place a try, but you just have to be mentally prepared for it. Are these authentic Mexican tacos? No. Are these earning a Michelin Star in the future? No. But are these uniquely LA tacos in only the way LA can be? Hell yes! If I know one thing for certain, it's that you won't find these flavors anywhere else. Or maybe you can if you can figure out their salsa recipes. For all I know, they can be a simple mixture of canned Mexican sauces you can find at any grocery store. And if they are, they are still so damn good. The tacos themselves are simple: tortilla, meat, and salsa. Sometimes, the meat doesn't look, feel, or taste the way you'd expect. But you know what? It's still delicious in its own way. Whatever it is that they are putting in their salsas, I have no idea, but it just works. The red sauce is simple, spicy, and flavorful in a way no one else can do. The green sauce is also tasty and flavorful. The service is quick, and if you aren't paying attention, your tacos will be sitting there getting cold waiting for you to get them. The ambiance is what it is. Nothing to write home about, but slightly improved from the original, and literal, hole-in-the-wall location they used to have on the side of a market for many years when they used to go by Omañas. Although I haven't lived anywhere near this area for over 20 years, I still have to stop by when I'm in the area. You won't find these flavors anywhere else. Just try it and see for yourself. You might be disappointed at first. But then you'll remember these tacos later and say, "hey, maybe I should try them again and give them another shot." And that will always be the cycle that keeps you coming back.

Went again for the third time food was quick and excellent! The asada fries are great but we got the nachos this time and they were fantastic! The sopes were delicious and don't get me started on the tacos honestly I've tried a lot of tacos and these are on top for me.

Tacos were diped in green salsa, which makes it unique and juicy. Service was friendly and prompt. Ambiance was chill and local.

Horrible service, food not done properly. Would not recommend coming back. Spoke to worker and they did not try fixing the problem.

I wish I knew his name, but there's a guy there (shorter height and clean haircut) who gives some of the best customer service I've experienced. Super friendly, accommodating, and genuinely wants to make sure you get exactly what you're craving. One thing to note--there's a menu, but no pictures or brochures, so you kind of have to know what you want or ask. Luckily, he's more than happy to walk you through options. Nachos - Exactly how I remember nachos should be. The chips are those pre-made round ones (like Tostitos Rounds), but still crunchy and satisfying. The meats taste freshly cooked, with a nice sprinkle of veggies. And the best part--they use that classic nacho cheese and sour cream combo. The kind of cheese you'd get at 7-Eleven or a Dodgers game. Not the healthiest, but sometimes I want what I want. Tacos - Simple and classic. You really can't go wrong here. I've tried different meats and they've all been solid. Wet Burritos - Great balance of rice, beans, meat, and veggies. I've had the chicken, carne asada, and al pastor--all delicious. It also comes with a side of lettuce and sliced avocado, which is a nice touch. Side Bar - Fresh radishes, pickled jalapeños, lime, and lemon. Everything tastes fresh and adds a lot to the meal. What really stands out is how flexible they are with orders. I asked for nacho cheese on the side so my chips wouldn't get soggy--no problem. Extra salsa? As much as you want. Not sure if you want red or green salsa on your wet burrito? Get both on the side. They make it easy to customize exactly how you like it. Overall, great food, but even better service. This is the kind of spot that I don't want to review so I can keep it for myself.
