The inside is hot as heck because their AC isn't working, but they have a nice outdoor seating area. Food: 5/5 On Tuesdays and Thursdays they have a fish taco deal. They use to be two fish tacos for $1.50 but now it's $2.50 (don't let the sign outside mislead you, it is outdated). The fish tacos were light and a bed of cabbage and some cream sauce on two flour tortillas. It's a great deal for $1.25 a taco. Service: 5/5 I believe this place is family owned. We saw a lot of reviews praising their fish tacos, so we decided to come on Taco Tuesday after seeing a sign advertising 2-for-1 fish tacos, though we ended up paying full price, so I'm honestly not sure how the promotion works based on the sign out front. Their English is fairly limited, so be prepared for a bit of a language barrier. After ordering, we ended up getting 4 fish tacos and a wet asada burrito with green sauce. Here are my thoughts: Fish Taco - Delicious. The fish is fried and comes fully dressed with sauce. We opted for the handmade tortillas, which were fresh and absolutely bomb. The handmade tortillas were an extra $4 each, which I didn't fully realize at the time since the menu was in Spanish, oops. Still very good. (4.5/5) Wet Asada Burrito - Tasty and solid. The burrito itself was good, and I especially enjoyed the rice. Everything tasted great with the salsa smothered on top. Definitely a satisfying dish. I was at work the other day, hadn't packed a lunch and was tired of the usual stuff I get in the area. I text my wife asking what for a recommendation and she told me about Taco Burger Place. She said it's local, has good reviews, and something different than what I would normally get at lunch. I decided to give it a shot. It's very hole-in-the-wall, so I know it would be great. I ordered five tacos (two fish, two al pastor and a carne asada). It was about 20 minutes before they were ready but I didn't mind because they were being made fresh. Got back to work and devoured them. In order, my preference was the fish tacos, then the al pastor and then the asada - all really good, though. I will be back at some point and try some of the other items on their menu (especially looking forward to the breakfast burrito). Used to come here maybe 10 years ago and came like everyone before, 2x1.00 fish tacos. Remember it as a delicious taco that was extremely reasonable. Went to try recently after ten years and they changed their name but it's still the same cook and people. Theu did clean up the inside and made it a little brighter, a little cleaner but same size. Had a shrimp, fish, cabeza and al pastor taco along with a burger and fries. Had the tacos with handmade tortillas but those come at an extra charge per taco. Shrimp and fish were just like back then, pretty good and a solid meal. The sauce is a little mayo-y but you can actually see the fish inside is fresh and not a old frozen patty. This place is great for a quick taco pick up. Forget the glitz and glamour of nicer looking spots, this is a real family operation. The taste of the tacos are a solid seven. Drove past this place all the time and was finally lured in by the 2 for 1 fish taco banner. Parking is a shared lot in the back. It's not that big, but it didn't seem crowded. Service is good. Basic Spanish skills is helpful, but they're good with English. It's not a big deal in person, but they prefer phone orders and it's just a tiny bit more complicated. The ladies there were very nice though. Gave me excessive extras when I asked (salsas and plates). Originally, I stopped by for my own lunch. I got home and ended up sharing them. Next thing I know, the family decided they wanted them for dinner as well. I ended up putting in a phone order for about 30 tacos later that day. I was quoted 30 min, but it was probably closer to 40. For the sale price, I really can't find anything to complain about. At $.75 a taco, the small piece of fish is understandable. I like how crunchy the fish is, even if a lot of it is from the batter. I think my 30 taco order overwhelmed them because they started getting skimpy on the sauce and cabbage for some tacos. Yelp challenge 17/100 Made to order when I came here on a Saturday afternoon, the pescado (fish) tacos were some of the best I've had in the san gabriel valley and also extremely affordable! We were the only customers here and 6 freshly fried/grilled piping hot tacos were served within 5 minutes of ordering. Only 1.50$ per fish taco but on Tuesdays and Thursday they give you 2 Fish Tacos for 1$ what a steal! Camaron (shrimp) and asada (beef) tacos were also ordered and I couldn't tell a big difference between the shrimp and the fish since they were both deep fried... XD Asada tacos weren't exciting. I generally like salsa verde over salsa roja for tacos but opted to use the roja when the verde did not do the job. Fish taco $1.50 Shrimp taco a whopping $3 It was $4.90 after tax and I didn't even get a drink. Hm. But they did give us free chips and salsa. On Thursdays, they do two fish tacos for $1. I think that's a stellar deal considering the size of these things. Of course, by the time you get to the second one, the juices, crema and salsa might have soaked into the tortilla making it a bit messy to eat. I enjoyed the fish more than the shrimp taco more. I don't know if it's because the fish wasn't $3! Still, I loved the kitschy atmosphere from the giant marlin on the wall to the neon colored chairs. They also have outdoor seating. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Someone came by several times to check on us. Taco N Tento is on the corner of Ramona and Durfee. There's plenty of street parking and they share a lot with a small grocery and laundrymat. They are very close to the 605 freeway, right off Ramona. eatery #6 my friend went to buy fish tacos and shrimp tacos. I really like the shrimp taco. It was a pretty big taco with a good amount of shrimps. The shrimps were fresh too; wasn't mushy nor dipped in too much batter. i enjoyed it so much that a few days later after i first tried it , i went back for more. And dined there at the restaurant. it's a small place and this time seeing the menu, the prices were very reasonable. i tried their carne asada taco.. and it was eh. King Taco is much better. The quesadilla w/ carne asada was a bit salty. i think i'm just going to stick to their shrimp taco. As for the fish taco, i think taco nazo tastes a little better. This place had the best tacos of the entire crawl for many reasons. The tortillas were hand made and perfect texture. Although the hand made tortilla tacos were not part of the 2 for a dollar fish taco deal they were still just $1.50 each and they were at least twice the size of any of the other tacos on the crawl. Fish was perfectly cooked to a crisp and the sauce had just the right amount of tartness with a reasonable amount of cabbage to balance. Although it was said that the fish was a little bland I expect this type of fish to have a mild flavor and it didn't bother me with combo of other flavors and textures. Pros: Yummy and cheap. I've had the tacos and burritos here and they are very tasty! I like the white sauce they use. I recently moved down the block from this place. I live in a place that I share with 16 ppl. So someone is going here at some point during the the day. I've seen the food and had not yet tried it until last Wed night. I got home and they made something I didn't care fore. The manager has been telling me this place has good burgers and fries for under 10 bucks. She said the fish tacos were off the hook and their shrimp cocktail was really good. So when she heared I didn't like the food here at my house she offered to go to this place and get me one of those three dishes. I couldn't decide but I knew I didn't want a burger. I told her to surprise me. With in 20 min she was back with what looked like a lot of food I only gave her 10 bucks. She got me the shrimp cocktail. I must admit I was hoping for the fish but was very surprised and happy and full with the shrimp cocktail. It comes with a lot of tomatoes avocados and shrimp good size shrimp 2 flat tortilla shells sides of chill and lime. Man did I enjoy that.
