Chicken tinga, beans and cheese burrito, salsa, and chilito
    Monica M.

This place is always guaranteed goodness in a tiny but mighty burrito. I come here a lot and my choices vary between the chicharron, chicken tinga, beans and cheese.... hm - it looks like I've named almost all their burritos. Lol!! Service is always prompt, the facility is clean, owners / managers are always friendly, and flavors are super consistent. The salsa is amazing - so good it's almost drinkable and the little Serrano chile is the compliment! And the hand made tortillas are awesome! Others might say they know of places with bigger burritos. I'll tell you - bigger isn't always better. These dense and flavor packed morsels are more filling than you realize. During the pandemic this place was open and again - service was prompt, friendly, and consistent!

I got the birria burrito special. At first I didn't think it'll be enough but it's a good portion. I didn't care much for the sad salad but the beans were good. The sauce it came with was really good! It had just enough of a kick of spice. I used it all for the burrito and the beans. The burritos were packed full of birria that was juicey and savory. I'd return here again.

One of my favorite places for a burrito, sooo simple yet sooo fantastic. My go to is always the birra as you can never go wrong with that. On my most recent visit I only got one birra burrito as I wanted to try something new as well. I ended up getting the Torta Especial and boy was it Especial! The pork tenderloin is so thick and flavorful and the ham was amazing as well. I was so surprised how great the torta was. So go to get the amazing burritos but maybe try a torta as well. You're welcome.

Hands down some of the best burritos I've had just like my mother makes at home. What I like about La Palma is that it's simple, no fuss, doesn't try to please everyone just delicious simple menu. Burritos have become huge with everything imaginable stuffed in a tortilla. Here the ingredients are simple, no "super" size and the tortillas taste delicious. So many other burrito spots use rubbery and lack of flavor tortillas to stretch and hold contents. The flour tortillas here are fresh, locally made and taste delicious on their own. A true burrito test is simple beans and cheese and La Palma delivers. Try it out.

This place is my family's favorite spot for burritos! Burritos La Palma specializes in stewed beef (Birria) burritos served on their handmade flour tortillas. Their flour tortillas are superb! Burrito options include (6) : Shredded Beef, Green Chile Beef n Potato (Deshebrada); Shredded Beef, Cheese, Refried Beans (Con Todo); Chicken Tinga; Bean N Cheese, and Chicharron. Our absolute favorites are: the Deshebrada (shredded beef, potatoes, green chili) and the Con Todo (shredded beef, refried beans, cheese). Our kids love the bean n cheese. The burritos here are SO good! The burritos are on smaller side to reflect Mexican northern regional style of burritos (not typical California style burritos), so it's recommended to order two to three burritos per person. They are so good you are going to want to order more! They have a casual dine-in area, but we mostly do takeout. We are regulars, so naturally we love the service and owners. Burritos La Palma has expanded locations primarily in the Los Angeles area (El Monte, Highland Park, Boyle Heights); and two in the OC (Santa Ana/Costa Mesa). The restaurant has been recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand award.

Who'd have thought a skinny little burrito could be so good? Don't waste your time with one sad burrito....get THREE! Or more! I loved this little joint. Very clean. Very friendly. Very inexpensive. Try it!

Used to come here all the time when I lived down the street. I love their tortillas here because it has a really nice fragrance and chew. I wish they gave more toppings into their burritos but I think for a quick lunch it'll do. Always ask for the Serrano chili on the side if you like spicy because it elevates the burritos so well. Self order counter and open seating. My go to order is usually deshebrada, chicken tinga, birria, and chicharron.

What We Ordered: Me: -Birria $4.95 -Chicharron $4.95 -Tinga $4.95 Wife: -Birria $4.95 -Chicharron $4.95 Son: -Quesadilla $4.95 -Birria $4.95 My friend Cindy S. always has great recommendations, and she raves about Burritos La Palma. I also heard that the late Jonathan Gold listed La Palma as one of his top 5 burritos in LA, even requesting them to cater his funeral. My wife isn't a huge fan of Mexican food, but I am! She likes tacos, but not burritos, especially with rice and beans. I'm trying to change her mind, and I was hoping La Palma could do the trick. La Palma specializes in Zacatecas-style burritos, which are quite different from your average burrito - you might even question if they're burritos at all! The flour tortillas are made fresh every day; they're very soft and have a nice chew. As mentioned before, the burritos are quite small. You'll likely need at least three to feel full. I tried the birria, chicharron, and chicken tinga, and they were all excellent - I'd order them again in a heartbeat. My wife, who usually prefers Asian cuisine, also loved the birria and chicharron. In fact, she was so happy with them that she suggested we return the next day, which is how I know she really liked them! My son enjoyed both the quesadilla and the birria burrito. He especially loved the cheesy quesadilla. We will definitely be back to La Palma very soon!

Move over Taco Bell there's a new contender for the best bean and cheese burritos. This is my go to place for everything! Don't feel like cooking dinner, I order burritos. Didn't feel like meal prepping to make lunch for work, I order burritos. They are the perfect size, homemade, and simply delicious. Paired with the salsa... even better! This is certainly my go to spot and highly recommend trying it out.

My husband had tried this place before, but it was my first time. He warned me that the burritos were small so we ordered three to share, and I also ordered a cheese quesadilla. I couldn't resist since it was made with a homemade flour tortilla. We ordered two of the shredded beef in green chile with potato. We also ordered one of the shredded chicken and potato. We added beans to all of the burritos. They were all delicious, but my favorite was the shredded beef. YUM! I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

Burritos are amazing. Reminds me of my grandmas food! Guy behind the counter is hardworking and quick. Must try when in the area, place is bustling! Burritos are on the smaller side but I don't mind because food is so good! Little pricey but worth it!

TLDR: Handmade flour tortillas are the star--chewy and flavorful. Burrito fillings were too salty for me. Worth trying for the tortillas, but the burritos themselves were hit or miss. I was really excited to try La Palma since it's been featured on Netflix and is a Bib Gourmand spot. They're best known for their handmade tortillas, which definitely lived up to the hype--chewy, flavorful, and the highlight of the meal. I can't comment on the service or vibe, though it looks like a classic mom-and-pop burrito joint. Prices run about $4-6 per burrito, which feels a little steep, but we tried a good variety: bean & cheese, birria, chicken tinga, birria/frijoles/queso, and the two-burrito combo plate that comes smothered in salsa with beans, lettuce, and tomato. Personally, I liked the burritos on their own better than the combo since the sauce made them a bit soggy. While the tortillas were excellent, I found the meats and salsa too salty for my taste. The bean and cheese was the most balanced and enjoyable; unfortunately, they messed up our order and forgot it. However, they did throw in a birria with bean/cheese. If you're a tortilla lover, the good news is you can order them on their own. Overall, the tortillas are solid, but the fillings could be more consistent.

It was a game of chance trying to figure out which burrito was which.

Some parking in the front or go through the gates in the side. Interior is kept clean and tidy. Pricy for a small roll burrito, but the flavor is good and the tortilla texture is great. Wife and i both agree that the birria is really good, but the dishibrata and chicken tinga also made an impression on me. Im a husky boy, 4burritos put me in a good space appetite wise.

Deborah, the owner, is incredible and truly passionate about sharing Oaxacan cuisine the right way. You can feel that intention in every dish. The guacamole is fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced--simple ingredients, done right. Their Oaxacan horchata deserves special recognition: lighter, more nuanced, and less cloying than the typical version, with a flavor profile that feels thoughtful and refreshing rather than overly sweet. This was also my first time trying chapulines, and it couldn't have been a better introduction. Knowing they're sourced directly from Oaxaca adds so much meaning to the experience.
