Short Review: The people are kind and friendly and the food is phenomenal. If you're reading this, then you're considering going here - just go! The hospitality here is fantastic. We were just greeted with "welcome back!" last night - we had only been here once previously, and it was a month ago! I love that. We are a bit obsessed with the buns here. We've had the shrimp and the Korean BBQ beef, and it's hard to pick a favorite. Everything else has been fantastic as well - my favorite so far as been the panang beef, very spicy. It wasn't heat for the sake of heat, it was hot but it was super flavorful. We were pretty full after our meal and I had some leftovers to take home, but they barely lasted in my fridge before I finished them. We live about half an hour away, and it is absolutely worth the drive. We will definitely be back - I need to try everything on the menu! read more

Decided to try this place with my mom after her doctor's appointment since it was right around the corner. We followed the gps and arrived at the tiny storefront with parking. We parked right in front and walked in. The interior is very small but clean- has a few glass top tables with menus on them already. We sat down and looked at the menu and decided to order golden mountain tofu, vegetarian pad Thai and spicy beef jerky. The service was great - our server was very attentive, friendly and efficient! The golden mountain tofu was delicious... the tofu was fried to perfection and topped with a nice spicy sauce and roasted peanuts! It had shredded ice berg lettuce underneath which was a good crunch. The pad Thai was a little disappointing unfortunately. The sauce for it was way too sweet for my liking and the noodles were a little over cooked resulting in a bit of sogginess... I wouldn't order this dish again but I am willing to try their other entrees. I had to ask for lime wedges to squeeze over my noodles cause I like it sour, salty and a little sweet usually. We were still hungry and got the Thai beef jerky. It was pieces of hot fried beef with generous seasoning and a nice sriracha based dipping sauce. We skipped out on dessert and packed up the leftover noodles. Overall I'd give it a 4.5 but I am rounding up to 5 for reasonable price, convenient location, great service and perfectly fried tofu! read more

After hearing such amazing things about Grub, I finally made it over there last night. A girls dinner with my cousin and daughter. Everyone was so nice and attentive from the second we walked in. Our server was made great recommendations when we told her it was our first time. She suggested the lychee tea which was amazing! The right amount of sweetness with actual lychees in it. We had the chicken satay in peanut sauce Grub buns which were finger licking good (will try the BBQ beef next time). Only thing I would change is the quantity. It only comes with 2 buns in an order. I ordered the garlic and coconut rice with spicy Thai sauce chicken. Loved every single bite. The rice was delicious. I could honestly eat a bowl of just that alone. My daughter had the pad Thai and said it was okay. It has a stronger tamarind taste than I would've expected (and she's only 3 and you know how picky they are). First time dining here tonight and I am so impressed! It is so hard to find a favorite asian fusion spot in Rockland that I actually like and this one beats all! We got the pan fried shrimp dumplings which were tasty and crisp. We also ordered the Spicy Red Curry Chicken with coconut garlic rice which was another amazing dish. It took much too long for our food to come out from the kitchen. An entree arrived before the appetizer. My wife told the waitress that she is allergic to mushrooms. She ordered baby boo choy, tofu and noodles. When the dish finally arrived instead of noodles there were mushrooms. I left a tip. When I got home I notice that I received an email survey. Definitely worth a try. Parking might be a pain as there isn't many spots in the front. The place is small and only has 5-6 tables. They have a lot of variety of specials though, including pho and sea bass which sounds delicious. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki with garlic rice. It wasn't bad, but definitely a meal you can make at home. The pad thai was so so, and the drunken noodle which was pretty good. The best item on the menu is probably the Grub buns, both Korean beef and chicken satay with peanut sauce. The owner was very friendly, excellent customer service. We are sooooo in love with Grub. Disclaimer: I lived in 8 Asian countries over the span of my life, enjoyed its cuisines and fell in love with how amazing its flavors are; each unique in its own way, yet all share the fragrant and deeply flavorful taste its ingredients have. In short, I am biased and extremely picky when it comes to Asian cuisine; so when I heard Grup was Asian fusion I was a bit skeptical... and I am glad I was wrong about my skepticism... I am a true believer that you can actually do "Asian fusion" 1000s of miles away from Asia and do it amazingly right. The secret is an amazing chef from the souther part of Thailand (the border between Thailand and Malaysia), and the rest is magic. Where do I begin? The place is cozy, neat, simply appointed; yet feels just right. The hostess was super warm and welcoming. We started reading through the menu and everything sounded so yummy; and it truly lived up to the photos and description. We started with the Korean BBQ buns appetizer and it was an absolute hit. The meat was exceptionally flavorful, tender, well marinated and has the perfect balance of spices. You could taste every spice and ingredient in a perfect balance. I ordered the Thai iced tea and I am so glad I did. Not too sweet, fully bodied taste, and the right color (not that artificial bright orange you get sometimes at generic Asian restaurants). My wife ordered the Roti Canai and I ordered the Chicken with Garlic rice and red curry sauce. We both were glad we agreed to share dishes. The roti canai arrived first, and OMG... the curry was Devine, full of flavor and amazing consistency, we launched into a measured dance of taking small bites of the roti and dipping it in the curry and then following it with a chunk of chicken.... taking turns, faces full of smiles. We were enjoying every bite of it and thought the meal can't get any better... we were wrong!! The chicken with coconut garlic rice and red curry sauce arrived just in time. We took one look at it and knew it, we are about to be treated to a bouquet of taste and texture. WOW, this dish can only be described as WOW; delicious, flavorful, bold, rich, spicy, intensely fragrant, and an absolute delight. We ended this amazing meal with desert (despite how full we felt); behold the sticky rice with sliced mangoes. It could not be a better way to end the meal; just right in every way. I've had the pleasure of dining here several times in the past couple of months, and I was never disappointed. My most recent feast included the dish of coconut rice with garlic and chicken, and it was absolutely delicious. My dining companions had the crispy fish with curry, and they said that it was a winner, too. Waree is a gracious hostess, often coming by the tables and chatting with patrons. Banana fritters for dessert is a must, this time paired with homemade coconut ice cream. We found this spot because they had some GF options (my son has Celiac.) We heard great things and it did not disappoint.
