The manager made things right and gave me a small discount on the vehicle and because of all the miscommunication they let me complete all my paperwork through email so I wouldn't have to drive and wait around the dealership again. My salesman Sergio drove the vehicle to me when he finished work for the day. It was cleaned to perfection with that new car smell. This would have been an amazing experience if they regularly did business this way. They would certainly sell a lot more vehicles. The entire business model of the dealership is the main problem. It is set up for each component to have the opportunity to make commission. This means the buyer sits around waiting to speak with multiple people who get the chance to make a % if they can sell it to you. It's good for the employees if they are good at sales but terrible for the customer. They need a paper with boxes you can check if you are interested in extended warranties, loans, add-ons etc.... The sales person needs to be able to handle the rest on their own or you can complete it online while in the office . The first time, I inquired about a specific vehicle and was told it was available. A few days later, I found the vehicle was still listed and another vehicle at the same dealership. I manage a fleet of 14 vehicles, so I am very familiar with dealerships, service departments, repairs, delays, and the level of communication customers should receive. This is easily one of the most incompetent, unprofessional, and poorly managed dealerships I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. They have had my vehicle for an outrageous amount of time, yet somehow they still cannot provide clear answers, meaningful progress, or a reliable resolution. Instead, I have received endless excuses, empty promises, and complete silence. At this point, it feels like nobody at this dealership knows what is happening, nobody wants to take responsibility, and nobody cares enough to figure it out. Trying to contact them is a complete joke. Calls go unanswered. Updates do not happen unless you repeatedly chase them down. Even their own support line has reportedly attempted to contact the dealership and could not get through. When your own company cannot reach your location, that is not a minor communication issue. That is a complete operational failure. The lack of urgency is unbelievable. They are holding someone's vehicle, disrupting their business and daily life, yet they behave as though none of it matters. There is no accountability, no professionalism, no respect for the customer's time, and no sense that anyone is actually in control. Our car was towed in Tuesday because all lights on the dashboard were on and it would not drive. On Wednesday we were told it would be 3 to 4 days and that it would be covered by warranty. I asked them to double check because the issue with my car 2 months ago was not covered and they said they would double check the system. They confirmed that it would be covered under warranty. On Thursday I got notification that my car had been unlocked, so I called again for an update. The person said that the car was currently in progress and the technician on my car would call me with an update. I did not receive a call so I called the Service Center again on Saturday. The gentleman today said that my had NOT been checked yet and that based on the queue it wouldn't even be looked at until Tuesday, a week after it was towed in. When we asked why we were told that progress had started he said he didn't know but that there be no update until probably Tuesday. We did express the hardship that this causing our family and that the changing timeline is causing hardships for us. There seems to be no recourse for the disorganization and what seems like outright dishonesty. We were told a manger would call, but we received an email from the assistant manager the next day. Moving forward I kept all communication in writing due to the earlier issues. On top of the time frame, it took almost a month to get my vehicle back, there were surprise fees that were not communicated to me until the pick up of the car totaling over $500. When I expressed my confusion I was told either pay $500 or don't get my car back. This was on top of a $3000 radiator issue that was not covered under warranty. In a little under 2 months there was over $9,000 in needed repairs. The customer service was by far the worst I have ever experienced and will never purchase another Kia. If I had been told of the additional amount up front I would have had my car towed to somewhere else that was quicker and cost less money. In contrast I've had my 2015 Honda Pilot for 11 years and had minimal repairs that my husband could fix. Before that I had a used a used Hyundai Elantra for over 7 years with no need to go to the mechanic. My 2023 Kia Sorrento has needed more work than any vehicle I have ever owned, it's neither safe nor reliable. read more

I attempted to get an oil change today. I entered the dealership on battle bend drive. they had 4 cars parked blocking a straight entrance to the service department. So I then attempted to enter the service entrance by the side of the dealership. Obviously they've outgrown this lot. There are cars parked on the left and right side of the road within the dealership lot, making it extremely tight. I think other customers were attempting to find parking or look around were pulling into the area you would go for service but because they had it blocked off they could not go around they had to back up about 100 to 200 feet. This happened with three different cars Entering from the frontage road. I would attempt to pull in to get to the service department and they would need to back out. After the third car I felt this was ridiculous. I found a parking spot and went into the dealership to let them know that I was having trouble getting my car into the service center. A male at the service desk was rude and condescending asking unnecessary questions like did I try to bring it to the back of the service center? If I did try to bring it to the back my car would be in the service department albeit backed in. Just very unhelpful, Dismissive and rude. Cherry on top he said the wait was 3 hours. I left my car there for an oil leak issue and a possible oil pressure switch leaking issue in which Kia extended its warranty. I put like 3-4qts of oil for like every 2-3K miles so there's definitely an oil leak somewhere. I also saw underneath the vehicle some oil. But what Zane told me that there's no leak and the culprit was the cv axle which I am aware that my axle needs replacement too. He said it spins fast so there's a possibility of flinging oil, but does axle have oil? I know it has grease but oil, I am not sure. I told him I have a video of the oil leaking underneath, but he insisted that there's no leak. No empathy to costumer's frustration and communication is only one way, his way. I am very much willing to have my CV Axle done there even if it is a little pricey. But since he didn't even give a little attention to what my main reason for being there was, I lost interest. A disappointing costumer service experience, even slam the phone a little bit when I said I will just take my car back, not sure if it is normal there. Now, Instead of focusing on my main concern, he recommended an immediate attention to a cabin filter for $75 (which I personally just replaced days ago), a brake light bulb for $102 and other stuffs. I told him the filter is new, He said, because it's not in the service records and they don't open the glove box to check the cabin filter. Then why recommend it (immediate attention)? It is like, giving a patient medicines without even diagnosing/checking first. If I know nothing about car, that's $75 bucks out the drain. So, took my car back and noticed when I got home some scratches and small dents (pictures attached) that weren't there before. My bad that I didn't check before leaving. They can verify it because they took pictures of the car when I dropped it there. I know my car's exterior well since I wash it regularly and I am the only driver so no one uses it except me. I like Kia, I even accompanied my friend at this Dealership when he bought his new Sorento. We also plan to upgrade our van to the new Hybrid Carnival, but with this kind of service, not anymore. Elder abuse... this dealership is taking financial advantage of seniors! My parents (late 70's) went in to test drive a Telluride since we (their kids) were pressuring them to get something with more safety features like lane assist and blind spot monitoring. They had no intention of buying since they hadn't driven anything else and tend to keep cars until they have to be towed away. Over four hours, the dealer talked them into buying a 2025 Telluride which they are happy with but also convinced them to accept $7k for their trade. Their trade was a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab SR5. It did have about 130k miles on it, but was garage kept, very clean, and only had cosmetic issues. No mechanical issues. A little over a week later and the dealer now has it listed for sale at $17.9k! This is not only insulting to my parents, but the dealer should be ashamed to have taken advantage of the elderly!!!! If I can get the names of the salespeople that they dealt with, I will update this post. read more

we dropped off our daughter on Saturday for an emission test, tire rotation and oil change. We also mentioned the recurring problem that she's had since Kia South last reviewed the issue and fixed it. It also had a check engine light on that needed to be looked at. After a few days, of not hearing anything. We called to talk to the service rep and were told that he would call us back. Never received a call back. Called the next day and again we're told that they would call us back. No one did.. on the third day after trying to reach someone we got to speak with someone who said they hadn't even gotten to the and that it would be 10 days before they could do the diagnostic testing, which we were never informed about when we dropped off the car we asked them to do the oil change, tire rotation, and emission check. We picked it up later that day, and we were told that the emission paperwork was on the seat of the car. We then took the car over to another auto shop and was able to get a diagnostic testing done the same day repairs were done within two days. It was an amazing experience compared to Kia. I then went to go renew the registration, and they said the admission test was not in the database. I called Kia back left a message. No one called me back - called again. Informed that it failed despite them telling us the paperwork was on the seat. Never once was it communicated to us that the emission test fail failed. When I asked them why they would perform the mission test if they knew it would fail because the check I got the runaround. The communication Kia South is horrendous. I also question there, professionalism and honesty thankfully, we found a new automotive place that is professional, courteous, and cares about customer service. read more

First off there is a very welcoming friendly staff! I called in to see if the could fix my broken key; my key got washed in the laundry and fried the system of my key. Luna was the first to assist me and directed me Salvador. Salvador did his best in retrieving was left of my key, and was able to save a bit of it in case I needed a spare for an emergency. I originally planned for this to be an all day ordeal, but fortunately it only took about 10 mins! What was an initial anxious moment for me, turned out pretty great! Luna and Salvador were great at conversation and accommodating me and got me out in such a speedy time! I'd like to add that I had previously went to another company to get my key fixed, it only lasted 2 days before it fell apart and no longer worked. It's been 2 weeks; my key and car is doing great. I finally walked over and told someone that I was told to walk in to this area and a gentleman would be there to meet me and take a look at my paperwork for my car, then have the key made. I was told to go ring a doorbell and someone would be with me. We waited another 45 minutes. Finally, a gentleman had come in the area and asked if we needed help. A woman responds to him "oh, no. They're waiting on someone from mechanics." (or whatever the department was, I don't remember at this point) I told him thank you so much for asking us, that I appreciated that. I then quietly said to the woman "It's great customer service that he checked in on us - we have now been here almost an hour. It's not ok that nobody else has." To which she responded "yeah, lady, not my problem. It's my day off." And then proceeded to talk about us and laugh at me. Nice. I also watched an elderly gentleman come in and oh my GOSH they were so rude to him. He simply came to the wrong Kia. They were condescending and bordering on hateful, and I felt so bad for him. I purchased a 2019 Nissan Rouge, paid for it the day of purchase. The sales person told me that every vehicle gets a 187 point inspection and they would deliver the vehicle, They did deliver 4 days later. I drove the vehicle the next day and noticed the a/c was not blowing cold. So I just drove my other vehicle until it got warmer. I took the Rouge to my shop figuring it just needed to be charged. Turns out the condensor was bent into the radiator and will not hold a charge, I have sent two emails to customer service onlly to get no response. It is going to cost $3107.60 to get the a/c and radiator changed out and get the a/c working. So obviously they did not do a complete inspection on the car. Drive into the service drive-thru entrance on appointment date and within a minute or so; a tech person comes out. Very attentive staff. They take all your data down and give you a scope of work. Estimated costs? ETA when done? Awesome service. The waiting area is a very standard space and comfortable. A couple of TVs. Chairs. Work stations. Chargers for phones. Vending machine for snacks and beverages. Time does not stand still here. Before you know it; tech sends you a text and you off paying your bill. Done. Plenty of communication between your service tech and you. No surprises. I like the direct contact. Price points are average for the different services. I go twice a year and maintain my car in proper order. Pro Tip: make an early appointment and arrive early at your scheduled time. You won't regret this. read more

DO NOT TRUST! DEEPLY UNETHICAL EXPERIENCE!!! I don't normally leave reviews, but I feel a responsibility to warn others about the experience my partner and I had at Kia of South Austin. We brought our car in for service and were met with repeated dishonesty and vague, shifting explanations from the service manager. We were told that it would take 7-10 days for our car to been seen for a diagnostic due to backlog, that time was already a lot to wait for, and the real time it actually took was 19 whole days from drop off until it went through an inspection. No update, no communication as to why there were 9 more days of delays. I made multiple calls and was either hung up on or told that I would be called back and that didn't happen either. Despite our patience, it became clear that we were not being given the full story. When we calmly confronted the inconsistencies, the staff became evasive and defensive. My partner became frustrated in the service lobby (understandably), and escalated his voice to demand some answers and for them to take accountability for their lack of communication and there direct lies to our faces for three weeks, but at no point were we hostile or out of line. We just wanted transparency. The final straw came when we decided to tow our car to a trusted independent mechanic. Once we arrived at the new shop, we discovered that someone else's car keys with a tracking fob had been left in our passenger seat. We never handled or requested these keys--they simply appeared in our car after leaving Kia South Austin. We immediately returned the keys because we didn't want any confusion or entanglement. But the timing--right after we had told the dealership that their actions would be reported--made the situation extremely unsettling. Whether it was an accident or something more intentional, this was not okay. The light want out in its own. So glad I did not drop it off and leave it for six weeks as they recommended!

I'll update this because it ended up being a good experience in the long run, though it took reaching out to their parent company's corporate executives and speaking with the dealership GM to get it done. Ultimately this call center setup doesn't seem to be doing them any favors. But, they brought the car to the house to make up for the numerous failed visits and we ended up buying it at a pretty great price with a nice warranty.
