I recently moved here and yesterday found the store on Washington to be clean and the staff helpful. I used to shop at one in Oakland back in 2008 and the items they have here now are so much more diverse. I got my groceries and as my husband (who is using a wheelchair) were checking out, a woman in her 60s maybe 70 was behind me with a cart. She was about 5'6 1/2, dressed in an older woman style polyester flowered blue short sleeved blouse and light teal snug capri pants or longer pants. I thought it was odd that as the cashier took care of me, the woman never placed her items on the belt. There had been a man of the same age range walking near her but I never heard him speak. The cashier suddenly cried out that the woman sneaked out with the cart of items. I had felt someone behind me but did not think it was more than someone reaching for some nuts or snacks. I looked quickly but the woman was long gone. Outside, I saw the man but he was alone and I did not see the woman in the parking lot. I could probably identify her if they ever wanted help to find her. Nobody in a store should ever chase a perpetrator I know. That is dangerous. If the store reaches out to me I am not far at Sun City. I will send a message on facebook too. read more

Our place is closest to this retail location. We bought groceries at the La Quinta store 3 days ago. I've been shopping at Grocery Outlet for many years. Corporate policy allows another location to accept returns if they have the same products in stock. The manager didn't even look at the products and said NO flat out. Little does he know that we have a second home near his store and we'll never come back to this store. read more

I never know what I'm going to find at Grocery Outlet - but no matter what it is, it's always inexpensive and great quality. All Grocery Outlets are locally owned by people who live in the community they serve. This particular location is just close enough to my job to go for lunch or stop by on the way home. I lived in the Bay Area for many years. Grocery Outlet stores were my go to for a variety of reasons, the variety of quality wines and specialty beers. Their condiment and baking sections have amazing prices on olive & avocado oils, and spices too! Their refrigerator section has a wide range of meats and cheeses... a charcuterie board maker's dream come true. Grocery Outlet specializes in discontinued items, if your favorite pantry staple is gone 90% of the time you will find it here. They always have great seasonal items Christmas decor and items for your garden. I love their beauty section. I always find great prices on facial wipes and hair care products. read more

I generally love this store and I'm always sending people to it. I love that it is locally family owned. But what I do not love is driving down there buying expired milk but then I don't find out until I pour my coffee in the morning. I should be able to on the shelf and grab a gallon of milk and walk away. It's gotten to the point that I don't know if I trust their products anymore This is the 3rd gallon of milk. I've bought that has been expired in the last two or three months. Happened to my mother as well. The owner of the store need to make their employees get off their asses and do their jobs Are they hiring? I'd be happy to come in there and whip everybody into shape. They need a REAL manager is what they need. SOMEBODY THAT ACTUALLY MANAGES THEM SO THAT KIND OF STUFF DOESN'T HAPPEN. All my restaurants were 5 star rated on yelp- I checked Yelp every day and I made anychanges immediately. Yes!!!! I'm from Washington and shop at Grocery Outlet regularly. I always find great deals on organic products, unique items you wouldn't normally find while grocery shopping, great cheese and wines, and lots more. Imagine my surprise as we're visiting Cali and we pass a brand new store!! We were in need of some grocery items and couldn't do a U-turn far enough. The store is shiny new & bright. Same great layout. Lots of unique stuff from kitchen items, to garden, toiletries, snacks, frozen meats, etc and lots more. We found a soft sided cooler for $9.99 and were just looking at Home Goods for one that was more expensive. I'm already a loyal customer, and am happy to have this here in Palm Desert! Do Not Come Here! The manager at this establishment is unbelievably rude and unprofessional. We are repetitive customers at this grocery store and got told something for standing around in the store to much, in a GROCERY SHORE of all places. Also that we are bothering their employees when we would only talk to them if we had a question or checking out. The manager would also follow us around while looking through the store. We would even complement the employees on their efficiency and helpfulness but the manager makes me feel so uneasy and unwelcome. I do NOT even feel confortable ever coming back to this store. I also recommend no one else comes here and you should take your business elsewhere. read more

1.You have to check ALL expirations dates on ALL ITEMS. 2. Restocking of an item is not guaranteed- alot of one- offs. 3. Lots of price scanning mistakes- 4. Management is rude and unprofessional 5. The owners could really careless about you giving them your business. 6. Returning items- regardless of the reason ie. Out of date, didn't like, didn't work, wrong price scan, wrong size, spoiled, or any other reason- you will be met with inquiry- skepticism-and they will make it as hard as possible to accommodate or facilitate your return. This was my first time in a "Grocery Outlet" Store. My experience was good with everything but the "limited items". I ran in for some chocolate cake frosting & they only had vanilla/confetti orange/whipped cream. This is great but I need chocolate. It was busy, I did walk around & it's very organized and my cashier was nice. Yes.....I did find some things I liked. If you need a specific item right away. I would call or go where you know they will have it. I think it will do good, considering they have a Ralph's & Albertsons across the street. read more

The grocery outlet in Palm Desert is the best I've ever shopped in! Unlike other outlets it is very clean and organized. The products are top shelf items including personal items like shampoo. Their wine selections were also high quality. I really wish they would ship to Arizona. read more

I decided to wait for a week after the grand-opening because the store was busy as expected. Most people appear to be turned-off when they see the word "outlet" and compare it to Dollar General, 99 cent store, etc. This business model is similar to Big-Lots. They purchase overstock goods from other companies and change their inventory on a weekly basis. The idea is to "buy it before it's gone" because you never know what you'll find on your next visit. I came on a Wednesday morning and was greeted by charismatic staff. The store was clean, and I was impressed that the market had dairy, fresh bread, alcoholic beverages, and other perishables that were name brands. The price of goods were certainly much cheaper than Ralph's and Albertsons across the street. I even found some items that were exclusive to certain retailers like Trader Joe's. Overall, this location far exceeded my expectations and I look forward to visiting once a week to see what new items they have. I wish these guys tremendous success and hope that they do well in the long run. They are definitely off to a better start compared to the Rite-Aid store that existed in this location a few months before. read more

New store so you know I had to check it out. Loved the setup as you walk in. Produce and meat on sale ready to be grabbed as you walk in! Nice!!! Aisles are clean! Produce is cheap which is nice! Fresh too! Good variety of items! The only bad thing I would say is just employees greeting walked by at least 4 and nothing, but I understand it's a new store everyone is nervous! I couldn't get an item I wanted to purchase because there was a little red lock on the display. I was told someone would come to help me but no one came. I left without that item. I probably will not return. I recognize that there is a real problem with stealing but I have made a decision not to patronize stores where I am treated like a thief. I think they need to find a better way to protect their business that does not offend their paying customers. In her defense, the lady to the check out was apologetic. read more

Prices are higher than Ralph's. Ton of empty shelves. This store is mis managed and incapable of adhering to good business practices. A can of Campbell's tomato soup was rung up at $5.99. I asked why it was so high and was told because it's organic? No... it was run of the mill tomato soup. Other problems lay with the staff who do the pricing and the general feel of the store. Rethink what the market is from May thru October. I don't think this store is long for this area. read more

I stopped at the Bermuda Dunes Grocery Outlet to shop on 3/19/24. I saw two rechargeable flashlights that I wanted totaling $15. They had a red device on the peg to prevent shoppers from buying them and it is why they had so many. I asked a young black man to help me. He disappeared for five minutes and then approached from the opposite direction with the key. He removed the device and motioned for me to step forward and pick what I want from the now unsecured peg. I removed the two packages that I wanted, said thank you and began to step away. He asked me if I was ready to check out or did I have more shopping to do. I said I wasn't sure, needed to find my wife and see where she is at and tried to step away again. Without saying anything, he wrenched the flashlights from my hand and I asked what he was doing. He said, "What would be the point of locking them up if we just handed them to people?" "You can pick it up at the register." As he walked away, I said, "Don't bother." He pretended not to hear me and I did not care. I found my wife, told her what happened and she left her cart and we quickly went out the door. I called the manager later to apologize for leaving the cart and he said he did not have a black man working for him. WTF? read more

They have really great prices. They have different products at different times. I purchased 6 very large pots for a great price. I've also purchased potting soil for a great price. So they have more than food. Also, the wine prices are amazing! read more

My dad keeps shopping here and I worry about that. They seem to sell old products the main stores couldn't get rid of. He bought Easter themed Rice Krispies cereal in September. I realize the food doesn't expire that fast and I know it's an outlet but I just found it strange. read more

I was happy to see this new one within minutes of our Indio home and have already put it to good use. i accept and appreciate their business model as a clearance outlet, but they have plenty of fresh, well priced produce and other things that we use regularly. As usual when we visited yesterday we walked out happily with several bag-fulls of groceries that we use all the time. read more

My husband and I like to shop at this store for multiple reasons. First, we can find some items there that are not available at every store, like Kim Chee, Sour Crout, pre-cooked beats, etc. Also, I like that they have small packaging of cheeses, which is great for just two of us. Also, they have a huge variety of alcoholic beverages and the prices are very reasonable. Also, I like that it is not too crowded, so I can browse, shop, and pay without any rush or waiting in line. We came here the other day for the first time and we probably will not go back. The store itself is nice, it feels like a better, cleaner 99 cents store. The prices are the same as Ralphs I feel, there are some items that are a steal, but you really have to look. The customer service is TERRIBLE. We had Alyssa as our cashier and she was very rude. There was no "hi" or any acknowledgement to us. Seems like she was having a bad day but that is no excuse. She had a sour attitude that did not sit right with us. Overall, I would suggest Ralphs, right across the street for better services, quality & price. read more
