A friend made a reservation for the both of us on Easter. She said the reservation was made for 2pm. Neither of us had ever been there and we had no expectation. We arrived at 1:45 and walked into disarray. No one to great us, no host or hostess, just a lot of confusion. There was no record of my friend's reservation. We learned there was a 2:30 seating and that took us by surprise. We waited at the bar and had a few drinks. This had me feeling anxious. We heard them discussing table seating for different parties, but when I asked, my friend's name was still not added to a seating list. It seemed there was no one in charge. As 230 approached, we were told we can follow them into the seating area and while other tables had the parties names on small placards, still there was nothing on the two open two-seaters tables. We sat, and waited. On a positive note, we were the first table to be told the food was ready and we could go into buffet. No complaints about the food, it was pretty good. The final irritation was when our bill came, and I handed my credit card to the server. She seemed to be taking a long time to return with my card so I got up and went looking for her. I approached the bar and found her discussing an issue with a co-worker about another diner's bill. All the while holding my card in her hand. I stood at the bar, be ignored until I politely asked if there was a problem with my credit card. They snapped out of their daze and apologized to me. We wrapped up the transaction, and we left. As I said, the food was good, but maybe because it was a special holiday buffet everything was messed up?? Not sure. Not a pleasant experience. Good food can't make up for the ridiculous absence of good service. Doubt I'll return. read more

Breakfast with Santa was an amazing time! The food was hot, we got seated efficiently and the music was rocking. There was also a Photo Booth! The kids made some great crafts- clay snowmen, laminated decor, and freedom to craft without rules ;) They also had a secret gifting bag area that my kids couldn't stop talking about. The only good thing about Easter Sunday Brunch yesterday was view and the Easter Bunny ! They had 3 seatings. All the tables had large groups. Our reservations were for 12 pm. with another seating at 2 pm. Our table was the last table in the dinng room, we were the last to be called up for the buffet. We waited in quite a large line, once we got to the plate table, there were no plates, we had to wait, the buffet left a lot to be desired. the scrambled eggs were awful, they tasted lke powered eggs with a very stange flavor!, you could order an omelete , but had to wait as the same gentlemen was making omelettes as well as craving the roast beef and ham . They ran out of ham and we had to wait again for another to be replace, they totally ran out of roast beef. The desert table was small and limited, I don't think there were any fresh baked offering, only store bought ! All this and the the price per person with tip was $45.00 !!!! What a disappointment. They really need to do better.Very unorganized. It certainly was not an Easter celebration. read more

I bought a Groupon for the Grill on the Hill not knowing what to expect. The only downside was - the GPS took us to the wrong entrance. It was raining so we expected a lot of people inside. The women that sat us was very gracious, We felt welcomed. Service was good and food was great. We will return. read more

This is a hidden gem in Worcester! Saw a groupon for the restaurant and figured it'd be nice to try out on a warm day. My husband and I were not disappointed! We went on a glorious, sunny Sunday! Sat on the deck which overlooks the greens and the pond. Sounds of people teeing off and the birds were all that surrounded us! It was delightful. The waitress we had was great and super attentive considering she was there by herself when we first showed up. We went at noon on that day and the only people that were there when we got there were golfers, but the deck started to fill up as we were almost finished. The drink menu consists of a good selection of beer & wine, plus they have a full bar and also make sangria (white and red). Prices are comparable to most other restaurants. The food was good! Typical pub food menu with apps, salads, sandwiches, and burgers. They also have some entrees as well. We started with the buffalo chicken dip which was wonderful! I'm picky about it too since I have a friend who makes it very well, but this version is great. They used a shredded chicken which just makes the dish, and it comes with plenty of tortilla chips to scoop it up with! I had the veggie black bean burger and added avocado. This was a great choice - nice & hearty and I believe homemade but I could be wrong. Hubby got the lobster roll which was HUGE! He said it was really delicious and wasn't drowning in mayo like some places. The fries that are served with the sandwiches are perfectly done and thin like I like them. This place is a really a hidden jewel for anyone looking to escape city life and have a decent meal on a nice deck. Summer is here! Take advantage of the great location and enjoy the view! read more

The view might be nice but the restaurant is not following any safety protocols. The tables are definitely not 6 feet apart. I did not feel safe at all. Not sure how they're able to get away with that. When I arrived the place was very crowded. I would not recommend this place. read more

What a view! What a sunset! Food was better than okay but the service was poor. Had a Groupon which was great otherwise we never would have known this place existed. It is in Green Hill Park, overlooking the Green Hill Golf Course. There is a wonderful veranda to sit, eat, drink and watch the golfers and the view. We ordered a cup of clam chowder to share before our sandwiches.(though it came at the same time). It was not to my liking. It was thick but bland. We ordered the lobster roll with french fries and the Birdie which was a chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts served in a lettuce laced wrap with sweet potato fries. Our sandwiches were tasty. We may never go back again but it is worth a try.. Maybe you will have better service as you enjoy the wonderful view read more

The worst experience ever sat outside for 20 minutes at a dirty table. A woman came over and asked if we were done with the ketchup bottle. I informed her it was not our dirty dishes nor our ketchup she took the ketchup and left. I waited a little longer went in side asked the bartender for a tray to clean up the table. She came out and did clean the dishes off but never wiped the table. I waited another 10 minutes when in and asked for the manger. I found out it was the woman that asked for the ketchup bottle in the beginning. I think the owner came over asked if he could do anything said no and left. Trying to plan an event here and it's been very frustrating and challenging. The event manager, Melinda has been extremely rude and completely inflexible. Unfortunately, a contract was already signed so the event will still happen but will be the last time we use this facility. It's a shame because it really is a hidden gem in the city. I don't see them surviving for the long term because of the lack of customer service. Hoping the event turns out a lot better than the planning experience. We were working with two individuals who are no longer there and not surprised based upon the way the manager treats clients. read more

Beautiful scene from the patio. I sat there first enjoying the landscape and then hoping that some one will show up to ask me what I need. Did not happen for 1/2 hr. A very cordial waitress was serving the many people with care and walked past me many times. I tried to make eye contact so I can ask her when I would be served. She would look in my direction but look past me. In a traditional club environment I stood out like a sore thump as a person in semi casuals and the only person of color but I felt the most unnoticed. I then went in to enquire why I was not served and I noticed that the person who asked me to be seated was chatting with another waitress and I saw no sign of busy schedule. I expressed that I was disappointed and asked if there is any thing about me that was not suitable for being served (perhaps I was not wearing a golf attire or I was not a member of the club) but they said they just didn't realize I was waiting to be served. I walked out partly because I didn't have any more time to devote to lunch and I didn't want to have lunch there after being made to feel invisible. Perhaps their food is great and perhaps their service is great. But all I got to admire was the beautifully manicured lawns and experience the people that could not see me - a sore thump. I will plan to make one more visit to gauge if this is a random occurrence or a systemic one and hopefully enjoy their hospitality and food that many here have appreciated. I will come back and write my experience at that time and hopefully one on a more positive note. read more

We made a reservation on a Friday night in the summer and arrived a few minutes early. We were told that we couldn't be seated until we had the manager's approval and were eventually seated about 5 minutes after we arrived (there isn't a host and every server studiously avoid eye contact with anyone who arrives looking for a seat). We were seated and waited 20 minutes for our party to arrive. We flagged down a waitress 15 minutes in and asked for menus, since we hadn't been given any yet or been approached by anyone. We were served water and a coffee. The rest of our party arrived and collectively we waited 20 MORE minutes to have our orders taken. During this time we attempted to flag down unresponsive waitresses, to no avail. Eventually, we left after tracking down our waitress and paying for the coffee (she made eye contact with us once as we paid and spent most of the time talking to a waiter). I'm a former waitress, and this level of service is mind blowing. Ignoring your tables for 40 minutes and having a table straight up walk out is absurd, especially when there were three other waitresses we tried to flag down who just breezed right by us. The views are stunning, sure, but the service is terrible and according to the rest of my party, who had been before, the food is mediocre. If you enjoy waiting 40 minutes in vain to be served more than lukewarm coffee and water, this is your place. If not, skip it. read more

We had a baby shower at Grill on the Hill in June and we were very happy with the food and the service. It was a pleasure to work with Janet Fotiadis. The planning was easy and she instilled confidence that the day would go well. It did. Despite the cold, drizzly day, the room was light and spacious. The brunch was delicious and the staff made sure everything was ready and replenished as needed. They even held off on removing the buffet items when they learned that two of the guests had gotten lost and came over an hour late to the shower. I am so glad I decided to go with Grill on the Hill. The chef, Jim Fancy, is an excellent chef and takes extra time to prepare the buffet items with care and lovely touches the presentation. It's a hidden gem in Worcester! read more

Went for lunch and sat outside. Nice view. Food was mediocre at best. Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad was nice white meat, but so dry as to make it difficult to eat. Cranberries were few and far between and I found only 2 little pieces of walnut in my whole sandwich. The lettuce on the sandwich was so wilted that, had it been in my fridge, I would have tossed it. French fries were good. Service was OK. I won't go back and I would steer friends away. read more

I was pretty impressed. The Chicken Piccata I ordered had a great sauce, though it could have used a little more of that. The chicken was perfectly cooked as well. The lemon coconut cake was fantastic. The service was friendly and attentive. When it comes to dinner entrees, the menu is a bit thin: more burgers and sandwiches. I recently had my bridal show here in March and the service was horrible. I was fortunate to have my bridal party come early to help set up the room for me while I got ready and came a little later on. Well when they arrived they asked the server to notify someone to remove a big piece of ice on the walk way and if they can go through the front door to bring everything in the server said absolutely not an alarm would sound but when I and other guest arrived we used the front door without a problem due to the ice which was never removed. The bathrooms were disgusting looked like they haven't been clean since they closed in October. My mother asked the server if she could turn up the heat and she said don't keep going outside, guest were arriving. The tables were not set up as we discussed with Janet, the event coordinator. Janet was no where to be found I heard she stopped by for a few minutes and left right before I arrived. My guest noticed they're coffee cups were dirty with hair in it when I brought it to the servers attention she put her hand in the cup and said they are just stained nothing we can do, I was appalled and asked for new ones. Coffee was not served until almost noon, the shower started at 11am, I was furious as most of my guest are older they have been there for an hour with nothing but juice to drink. They said they were having issues,for 2 hours?!? we all got there at 10am to set up, go to DD and get a box of joe better then having none. I will say the food served which was from The Manor was good, was not cooked on site thank god the kitchen was disgusting. The grill on the hill was not ready to open that day! I was so upset after my shower I sent an email to Janet explaining everything that had happened. She said she was appalled that her staff would do anything like that and would talk to her head server and get back me. This was March 1st I'm still waiting to here back and I'm done so this is my review. If the blonde server is really your head server you need to fire her ASAP she is the rudest waitress I have ever had to deal with. I will never go to the grill on the hill again and will not refer any business your way. It really sad you guys have a beautiful place you just have no idea how to run it. read more
