We arrived at 1:45 and walked into disarray. No one to great us, no host or hostess, just a lot of confusion. There was no record of my friend's reservation. We learned there was a 2:30 seating and that took us by surprise. We waited at the bar and had a few drinks. This had me feeling anxious. We heard them discussing table seating for different parties, but when I asked, my friend's name was still not added to a seating list. It seemed there was no one in charge. As 230 approached, we were told we can follow them into the seating area and while other tables had the parties names on small placards, still there was nothing on the two open two-seaters tables. We sat, and waited. On a positive note, we were the first table to be told the food was ready and we could go into buffet. No complaints about the food, it was pretty good. The final irritation was when our bill came, and I handed my credit card to the server. She seemed to be taking a long time to return with my card so I got up and went looking for her. I approached the bar and found her discussing an issue with a co-worker about another diner's bill. All the while holding my card in her hand. I stood at the bar, be ignored until I politely asked if there was a problem with my credit card. They snapped out of their daze and apologized to me. We wrapped up the transaction, and we left. As I said, the food was good, but maybe because it was a special holiday buffet everything was messed up?? Not sure. Not a pleasant experience. Good food can't make up for the ridiculous absence of good service. Doubt I'll return.

From just looking inside it looks like a very nice American bar and restaurant. For a space in Coolidge corner, it is definitely one of the biggest restaurants in the area since FuGakyu is closed (The OG ). It has two floors as well as a patio space they recently opened. This is an asian fusion restaurant with more emphasis on the americanized side if that makes sense? The patio area was so nice especially once it cools down in the evening with a nice view of brookline. The staff were great at bringing everything and making the food and drinks the focus rather than themselves. The menu is kind of small but mighty with a lot of delicious options. You can choose from salad to a ban mih to pasta to curry to a Hawaiian dish, loco moco! The drinks, though pretty small in size, are all really interesting combos. I got the extra 99 which had scallion, oolong and szechuan pepper infused oil. It was such an interesting savory taste.. One of my friends said it reminded her of the smell of ramen. The Loco moco was delicious. I'm not sure why I thought it would be a burger but it essentially was but just swap the buns for rice. I'm not a fan of egg but it was perfectly balanced with the egg and beef patty. They do have a couple of GF options YAY but apart from the two entree items on their brunch menu it's essentially veggies, fruit and salad. The brunch menu looks delicious so I would definitely come back to try it out. $$ Food 8 Atmosphere 8 Service 7 Loco Moco Extra 99 Blush hour Chateau spritz Summer thyme You can sip with is

We honestly couldn't have asked for better staff interaction. Everyone was friendly, personal and genuinely cared about our time there! Also hats off to the chef! Jared told us he was the best and I can agree! This was quite possibly one of the best meals I've had all year! We shared a special of the night ( goat cheese, beets, peaches and hot honey) and the salad that is set to be a new menu item. Everything was locally sourced and these dishes were a 10/10! It was hard to choose and entree so Emily C and I split the cod and the steak sirloin. The cod was to die for. The best I've ever had. The sirloin was chefs kiss and the sauce and asparagus it paired with (and potatoes too) were all out of this world! While i was already full, the dessert menu is a must. We went with a lemon dessert and oh my goodness was it to die for! Drinks were amazing too---I had a spritz and a very tasty mocktail! Ambiance both inside and outside are beautiful. Since it was a sunny summer night we sat outside, but inside is equally stunning. It is very upscale chic and so pretty! Thank you for a wonderful experience! I'll be back for the staff, especially our server David, another drink, the eggplant sandwich and more of the dessert menu! I see why Yelp raves about this new spot! It is !

The Apricot Spritz - incredible, the least sweet of the 3 listed spritzes, so refreshing and crisp, just the perfect summer drink! What a treat for the kids meals to also have a hummus/carrot appetizer, side of green beans, and a scoop of gelato to finish off their meals! Our server Alyssa was so wonderful and attentive! We had a beautiful evening here and can't wait to come back!

Not like the in Manhattan , where they serve the mini martinis (always a pet peeve of mine). Service was excellent, we had Jasmin and a good support staff, a local kid. Food was better than expected. We live right outside the city, and we love our food, obsessively. For starters we had some salad, fried calamari, clams with chorizo in a nice broth and a special fried flourettes. All good, clams in broth was my pick for best app. For entrees we had veal chop, pork chop Milanese with salad, linguine with clams, linguine fra Diablo and 2 fish. Portions are huge, we should have shared. We ended with 1 desert to share a molten lava cake with some fancy ice cream. I'm not a big lava guy, but I loved the ice cream. Their coffee remains consistent and they brew the best bean in town. Truly a hidden gem...literally. They're hidden in the back of Rotmans (old furniture store) and you'll never see it from the main road. I drink coffee on a regular basis and could probably consider myself an amateur coffee snob lol. Lately I have made a purchase for teas and my wife didn't like the selections I've chose so they were welcoming and honored an exchange. I just had to pay the difference which I was glad to. We had good company with us and so there's also ample seating in the next room--you can enter from the front of the building as you enter through the main entrance or go through the back. Cheers

I stopped by to get a couple of coffees to go, and a pastry. The staff was very patient and pleasant to chat with - something I really miss with the larger coffee chains. The coffees were made exactly as I requested, and the pastry was warmed up and wrapped in a foil to maintain the heat. I really love the attention to detail. I'll note that I noticed they use Monin brand syrups (my favorite!). They are not the cheapest option, so it goes to show that the folks at Acoustic Java care about quality over maximizing profit. The location is great - a bit hidden, but the industrial vibe just fits for a small roasting company. I love that the roastery is visible through the glass panels. The packaged beans are all laid out for you to easily read the labels and shop. I love that they carry quality tea for non-coffee drinkers/tea lovers. The merch is also cute, I was very tempted to add yet another coffee shop tote bag to my hoard. They carry a huge variety of used and new books - and they offer the most unique pricing I've ever seen. You can look up the cost of the book online - so long as the condition is roughly the same, that's how much they will charge you for the book (+ tax)! That's amazing, and I don't know how they can possibly even make money with this policy, but with the giant chain and online retailers, it's really the best incentive to get folks to support local. I think one of the biggest highlights here, on top of the great coffee, ambiance, and service, is that they offer various tastings, classes, and live music events. Personally, I feel like this is key in building a community, and I love that they do this. You can look up the different events on their website, some of which are free to attend. I can definitely see this as a place to come read a book over some tea, catch up with a friend over coffee, or take a date to a barista class for a unique experience.
