It was a semi-warm day and my boyfriend and I were walking all around the city and came across this place. I am a sucker for diners. I love the entire vibe of it, and this diner didn't fall short. The decor is pretty cozy and I love how they have a fridge with delicious pies displayed. It is open 24/7, and I feel like that's a good thing since there's a nightclub (Bounce) literally right next door. That's pretty smart on their end. The menu has plenty of options to choose from, You can get anything from breakfast omelets, breakfast skillets, lunch sandwiches, wraps, appetizers, to dinner plates. It took us about 10 minutes just to go through the entire menu. I even noticed they sell alcoholic drinks, so this is one thing to keep in mind if you want to come here for brunch or keep the party going on weekends. There's also boozy ice cream shakes if you're into that. Everything on the menu looked appetizing, but we eventually settled for the Chicken Chipotle Wrap and the Big Baller, which is basically a huge meatball sandwich. Both options come with complimentary soup and a side. I love how the sweet potato fries is a free side option and is not an additional cost, so we both opted for that. The soup options were creamy chicken and rice, and lentil. I really wanted to try the lentil, but I was disappointed that they put ham in it. I can't eat pork and I've never heard of a lentil soup, which is mainly a vegan/vegetarian option, have ham or any source of pork in it. The food came quick and the portions were huge. You get a huge pickle too with any sandwich, so that's a plus. Everything tasted really good, even the soup. The soup was so creamy and delicious. I thought the chicken was going to have an aftertaste like every other chicken soup I've had in the United States so far, but this one didn't at all, so this soup is a definite must try! The service was okay, we had two waiters switch on us, so we had no idea who our waiter/waitress was, so we just flagged down whoever passed by when we needed something. Customer service is unbelievably poor! The old woman who was the receptionist/manager the night of October 1st, is inadequate to perform her duties as a leader. I say this because she was very condescending towards my friends and I. She did not want us there and she made it known in front of other customers. I strongly believe us being people of color greatly contributed to our mistreatment. We were not rude to this woman not once, simply because we were raised to treat others with respect. I've been reading through their reviews on google and yelp and see that mistreatment, poor sanitation, scamming people out of their money, and disrespect is a reoccurring theme here. do your self a favor and do not come here! bad energy all around and you especially do not want that around your food! you have been warned. read more

Walked in and was seated immediately. Everyone from the hostess to my waitress was very friendly. I ordered a three egg scramble with chocolate chip pancakes and a kahlua cookies and cream shake. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again. read more

We loved this place so much we came here twice! Visiting from out of town and stopped in for dinner as it was close to our hotel. Got the monkey pancakes,banana crunch pancakes and fireside s'mores boozy shake. Everything was amazing. The pancakes were so filling I had to take half home. On our second visit we got the make your own omelette and continental breakfast. The French toast had a taste similar to funnel cake. The hash browns were fresh and delicious. Service was extremely slow. Thought it would be a great place to try out since it's new and my husband and I were out for just a night cap, however they were extremely slow with taking orders and serving food. Customers across from us threw up on the floor and they took their time to even attend to them. Not sure what our waitress name was but she was very rude. We've been to Griddle 24 twice - once to try their breakfast items and once to try their lunch items, and unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this restaurant (since it's one short block away from home), I didn't. None of our dishes were that appetizing. Our favorite of the four was the Chilaquiles verde with chorizo. It's definitely a lot of chorizo on the dish, and while good tasting, I hated that the tortilla chips were soggy by the time I got the dish. I know some places do cook the tortillas like that (as part of the dish), but I hate soggy chips. In my eyes, that ruined the allure of chilaquiles for me. My husband didn't care and he ate half my dish. Mostly b/c he got the Espanola Omelet with chorizo sausage and he didn't care for his dish. He felt it was quite dry. For our lunch items, we tried the Ole Burger and Buffalo Chicken Wrap. You see the theme of spicy dishes for us? However, both dishes fell flat and lacked much flavor. Today was my first place to this 24/7 neighborhood restaurant, and I was very pleased. I had a warm greeting coming in the door from the manager and it only got better from there. The menu is what you would expect from a diner, brought up-to-date with a good variety of options that expand on the breakfast and lunch standards one might expect to find here. The waiter was prompt, friendly and efficient. I decided to try their corned beef hash and eggs. The food came out quickly and was just right, obviously cooked and plated by someone who knew the job. I look forward to many more easy-to-enjoy meals here. On leaving I made sure to tell the manager how much I liked it. I've been searching for a 24/7 diner for the longest!! The waitress was very sweet and allowed me to take my time with deciding. I ordered the caramelized apple and pecan French toast. I went to this place for the very first time. My friend actually recommended this place and I haven't really visit it since I do not have time and I got a lot of work to do and just recently I went to do something around this place and I remember that I haven't been in here and so I decided to give it a try. It is a very nice looking and comfy place. I was already seated but no one is coming to my table and I could see staffs that has doing nothing. I was about to leave the place but a staff then came to my table. They have a really bunch of selections on their menu and I am really curios to discover what they got. I just ordered an Irish skillet and French toast which is very reasonable considering its portion and its flavor because the two was seriously good and I just do not know how to explain it but it is seriously so good and definitely the best Irish skillet and French toast I had. I thank my friend for introducing this place and I also highly recommend it. I just went in here once and I definitely love their food and i will also definitely be back. I am just removing a star for the service I experienced but I am looking forward to a better customer service next time. read more

Came here for a quick afternoon weekday lunch on a fly. Walked right in and was seated. Ordered the turkey burger with fries. Turkey burger was Ok, nothing to rave or complain about, but the fries which were crinkly and not my favorite way prepared were overcooked. Price point is pretty reasonable. I paid around $9.00 for the turkey burger with fries, and the food options from what I saw on the menus were pretty extensive, even offering vegetarian options. They also offer different drink options too. Went today for brunch with a few friends. Great service and food. I had an omelette with egg whites, turkey bacon and avocado, pancakes and fruit. Compared to their other places throughout the city, this places falls short. While it doesn't suck, it certainly doesn't stand out as being great. White Palace and Hollywood Grill is amazing and stand out as great. This place is just "Ok". The prices are rather high for the type of food they sell. I recently went for breakfast, 2 of us ate and is was close to $50! I know it's the city but JEEZ $50 for eggs, toast and coffee seems ridiculous! I took my daughter to Sloomoo across the street and we decided to go to Griddle 24 for lunch. I love diners and since the place was pretty busy I figured it must be pretty good. Our server was nice but ssssslllllloooooowwww. I loved that you got soup with your sandwich and the soup was really good. My daughter ordered the kids grilled cheese and I ordered the Monte Cristo. It took 45 minutes for our meals to arrive, though. They were busy, but there were people seated after us who received their food before us. The server never came to see if we wanted refills or to see how the food was. I couldn't even finish my sandwich. The ham was so overcooked and tough and the bread was soggy. The fries were soggy. When the server cleared our table he didn't ask if my meal was okay or if I needed a to-go box. We had to ask for our check after waiting for 20 minutes after he had cleared our table. As an avid breakfast eater I'm always hunting for new spots to try. I'm usually in the area for my sons art class at Marwen and have driven by at least a hundred times. Finally tried their breakfast and they did not disappoint. Person taking my phone order did not rush me, and provided me with my total before wishing me a great day! So, i've been here for lunch and at 4:30 a.m. after a night of drinking and both times i have enjoyed it. Places like this, i usually go with a omlete or skillet. Just finished working a 25 hour workday. Stopped in and the restaurant was fully staffed...literally 6-8 employees STANDING AROUND TALKING TO EACHOTHER. No one greeted me, so I sat down at the counter. AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT EMPLOYEES approached the kitchen side of the counter, right where I was sitting; looked me directly in the eyes and walked away without a word. NOT ONE of your 6-8 lazy, ignorant employees milling about the dining room could greet me or offer me something to drink or even hit me in the head with a menu. We were surprised by how good this place was. A Cobb salad that's outstanding and from a 'diner'? Yep! Service was good, a little slow at times (they were not busy) and we had to ask for refills of our empty coffee cups a few times. Monte Cristo Sandwich was good with a side of fruit. I've never been to Griddle 24 a day in my life but I can say that the food is amazing. I really was really not surprised judging by how busy the restaurant got at some point. But, I did run into an issue today. I received two small pancakes and wanted to know if there was any compotes I could add to my pancakes. The waitress, the new waitress, went to the register and put in an order for the Apple compote to the kitchen. The compote was amazing. Very tasty and I loved the service I received from the waitress assigned to me. She is new, according to the manager, but so friggin sweet. I'm sure she is a great addition to the restaurant. The restaurant was on it's way to getting a great review until I asked to speak to the manager. The manager spoke to me as if I never visited a restaurant before. I asked for the manager and the new waitress had no issues with alerting the manager to come to my table. The manager (Witt the black see through leggings) immediately told me that they will not comp a compote and started to ask if I ever been there before. I told her that my friend was dejaying at the Sports Club next door to Griddle 24. And that I was not dressed for the Sports Club so I dropped in for food. The issue I had was with the managers demeanor and her attitude with me. The waitress not telling about the price of a compote, considering that she was new, was not trained on disclosing prices. That falls on the trainer of the waitress. While the new waitress apologized about not telling me the $3.99 price, the manager never apologized for the inconvenience. That is highly unprofessional and unacceptable. $3.99 is not a lot of money but the "it is what it is" energy from the manager turned me completely off the restaurant. Thank you. read more
