The food didn't taste great, even after a late night in the city but it did the job. Ambiance can't expect much when it's after midnight, so I'll excuse the hot mess. Service was good, our server Carlos was quick and attentive. I'd come back for a late night vibe!

Diner is 24-hours and they have all day $12 specials that are huge portions and delicious. After Second City show, we were starving and looking to grab a warm meal on the way back to our hotel. Griddle 24 met our needs. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Southwest Salad, Chicken Parmesan, and Greek chicken. All, except Southwest salad were on the $12 special menu that came with a salad or soup and were generous portions. We also got a chocolate cake to boot. Comforting warm food and hospitable staff on a chilly Chicago evening. This diner was a great experience.

I've been coming to this same breakfast spot for years and eat here multiple times a week for work meetings or with my family. It's a great mom and pop 24hr diner where the staff will actually get to know your name, and you can sit in a cozy booth with friends or family. Their breakfast deals are phenomenal (check out the 2x2x2; or my favorite the Popeye's Scrambler). My wife typically enjoys the corned beef hash & eggs or a Reuben. Pancakes are a must. We sometimes come as a family for dinner after the kid's sports games and I love their $12 dinner specials (especially the chicken kabob plate) while my kids always just get the Mickey Mouse pancake. Either way, this is THE Diner to go to in River North and the Near North Neighborhood for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Love having them in this neighborhood!

I feel like diners are sometimes hit or miss but this was definitely a HIT! Came with friends after a night out and everything we got was super filling. The portion sizes are massive, so be prepared to EAT or take leftovers home. I got the Popeye Scrambler without spinach. Pancakes came on the side and it was super filling. I'd definitely recommend. Other people we came with got pancakes and the other scramblers - everything I tried a bite of was really delicious. We were able to sit immediately and our server was pretty attentive considering how busy the place was. Overall, it's a cute space for a cold winter morning and I'd definitely recommend if you're craving some diner food! Love the decor.

As I awoke bleary eyed and hungry on a Saturday, the first thought I conjured was that of diner food. After a quick search, we decided on Griddle 24. Upon entering the restaurant, you are immediately immersed in the chaos of 24 hour diner. We were seated at the bar, which gave us a front row view of the kitchen window. It was impressive to witness the volume of orders being handled by the staff. They seem to have an efficient system, but it can lead to incorrect orders. In our brief time there, we saw a few being sent back from wait staff, including mine. I ordered the Española omelette, sans cheese, but my request was mistakenly omitted. After receiving the correct order, it came back undercooked and lacking any discernible flavor. The chocolate chip pancakes were of perfect diner quality--crispy edges and chock full of chips. Griddle 24 is a nice stop if you want a quick breakfast, but beware the lack of attention to detail.

Had some pretty filling stuff at this always open diner. It actually may close some times so just know Griddle 24 is one of the places to get breakfast, lunch, or anything. Lots of the fairly typical offerings to be expected. There's burgers, salads, and sandwiches. Finding a good time to come here is a crapshoot. It's always open and that means you can come at any time figuratively and literally. The place typically gets busy in the morning because they have massive choices including omelettes. Also it's great for late night munchies after having fun. May seem like a surprising place to get vegetarian choices but they have these. It's about $16 for the Impossible Burger. We each got this while I left the cheese off, but got it with avocado and the choices of sides. A lot of entrees to look through on the menu. There's pasta as well as sandwiches like paninis. Get here literally whenever you want to because it's always open of course. It's located close to the Chicago Avenue Brown Line station. There's a few things even for vegans and vegetarians.

Griddle 24 totally exceeded my expectations. The French toast was perfect and actually one of the best I've had in the city. Service was fast, even with the decent AM crowd. I'll definitely be back to try the boozy shakes next time! - AD

I love a good diner and griddle 24 is exactly that. When we arrived there were a lot of people waiting. You have to put your name on the waitlist and be present inside the diner to get a seat. Once we were seated, I ordered the veggie omelette with a side of hashbrowns and chocolate chip pancakes. The food was pretty standard. The omelette and hash browns were a bit bland and the pancakes were standard but nothing super remarkable.

The bathroom was obviously very tagged up for the location is in the city, thats fine though it's a friendly location with friendly hosts but a moody server. the strawberry milkshake was perfect. it was not having ice cream taste like dennys, dennys has a bad strawberry milkshake, griddle has the best strawberry milkshake! the tables were clean. the cups were clean.

For those seeking a premier dining experience in Chicago, Griddle 24, located at 340 W. Orleans St. and N. Chicago Ave., is highly recommended.

It feels like the urban diner that is its tagline. The menu offers all the staples you would find on a diner menu, eggs, pancakes, sandwiches, etc. If you come here during the usual breakfast, brunch or lunch hours, be prepared to wait. You can order food for carryout at the bar. I ordered the pastrami sandwich and the pastrami was a bit dry and stringy. I loved the sweet potato fries! They are a bit soft at most places, but somehow the Griddle managed to make them crispy like regular fries. Maybe they double fry them? This was the star of the show. The cole slaw was the runner up because it was fresh, crunchy and nice complement to the pastrami. I would come back, but I wouldn't wait in a long line for a table.

After living just down the street from Griddle 24 for a year and a half, I finally gave it a try! As a Jersey local, I've been missing the 24/7 diner experience, so I was excited to check this place out after passing it so many times. I ordered the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito for takeout, which came with rice and sour cream. It was exactly what I was hoping for--classic, solid diner food that hit the spot. Nothing overly fancy, but exactly the comforting, satisfying meal you expect from a diner. I'll definitely be stopping by Griddle 24 whenever I'm craving diner food. And knowing they're always open makes it the perfect spot for late-night cravings or a post-night-out meal!

Fantastic breakfast! The countryside skillet was packed will food. You can easily split it or get 2 meals from it. It was the first time I've also had a restaurant make their hashbrowns crispy. The restaurant was packed and it truly feels like you're in a classic diner. The prices are very good for the quantity you get and the service was very helpful in getting the things you needed and answering questions. They also had Spanish speaking staff which was used a few times to help customers. Definitely going back! Now I just have to figure out whether to get the same delicious thing or something new!

Average place open 24 hours which is awesome since it's in River North area, but really just like a Denny's.

Thick, creamy, smooth and rich. The cinnamon came through warm but not too strong, plus a little extra on top that hit your nose before the first sip. Sweet and it almost had this slight earthy note too... hard to explain but good. It even had that little design on top, like the ones they do on cappuccinos. Didn't expect that but it was cool. Set in an old warehouse that is now an art gallery event space and restaurant nestled in an older warehouse district in Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago. Beautiful decor and laid out perfectly. The natural wood floors furniture ie tables chairs etc and iron work throughout sets the ambiance for old meets new. It works. The wide spacing between tables makes for a comfortable dining experience. So many folks come in to do their work and dine here. What a super addition to the neighborhood that less than a decade ago was essentially a street that was more a run down semi-truck alley. Great menu with neighborhood favorites leaning toward the old school Italian dishes. Sandwiches, soups, salads, and breakfasts just to name a few are all excellent. The pastries are insane and a must take home deal. I love the American Breakfast. Three eggs your way, thick diced America potatoes, thick cut bacon, and sourdough toast. Accompanied by what I believe to be home made jelly and for sure homemade gardiniera. Caruso's gardiniera actually. Diced into a relish unlike most standard gardiniera it's easier to eat with many dishes. Excellent flavor and just the right kick to it. FYI Dolce Arte also sells a to go line of homemade Caruso products from their gardiniera to past and past sauces and more. Yes, their coffee is really good too. Lavazza products I believe. The service is always on point. Casual but on point. Very friendly staff from diverse backgrounds. The staff--at least the person who helped me--didn't feel super welcoming. Not that they were rude, just not particularly warm either. I get it though, because even I get a little irritable when it's hot, so maybe that played a part. What I love the most is that it's Latina-owned, and that's something I truly admire. I always try to support Latino entrepreneurs when they're doing things right, and this place is definitely doing something creative. We ordered two flights--one with coffee and one with matcha. Each flight comes with four small samples, and they were all seasonal fall flavors, which I thought was such a fun and unique idea. It's cool because you get to try different drinks in little cups, almost like a tasting experience. The coffee flight (we got it iced) was amazing--the flavors were bold and had that strong coffee taste I personally love. The matcha flight was also fun, but I would have preferred a stronger matcha flavor in some of them. They also have plenty of milk options--we ordered ours with oat milk and it was delicious. On top of that, they have a pretty wide food menu with bagels, sandwiches, wraps, and more. We tried the tuna sandwich and it was really good, definitely worth recommending. The café has little chairs outside, the vibe inside is cozy, and I loved that they were playing Spanish music. That's something you don't usually find in most coffee shops here, and it gave the place extra personality. The only thing I'm still unsure about is the price. For two flights (coffee + matcha) and the sandwich, the total was around $55. Maybe that's a bit expensive--or maybe it's just the nature of ordering flights, since I had never tried that before. Either way, it was worth it for the experience and the flavors. In short, it's a cute, cozy, and creative spot that's definitely worth checking out--especially if you're into seasonal flavors, want to try something unique, and love supporting Latina-owned businesses in Chicago.
