Expensive for what you get ! We are from NY and this is what I'd expect to pay in the city (and your probably get more) Atmosphere is nice and the place is lively with what looked like a regular crowd. Salad was four leaves of lettuce on a ramekin, the calamari was definitely frozen and ultra small for $17 and French onion soup was good but may as well have been a thimble's worth. The salmon was tasty but the fillet mignonette were far too rare and at $40+ was like going to a steakhouse in NYC. Overall nice place but way too expensive for what you get. Either ratchet down the prices or increase the quantity / size of apps entres. read more

We have had a number of wonderful dinners here. Some of the highlights: - Prime Rib - this is one of the best prime ribs that we have had. The meat is cooked perfectly, it is tender, and flavorful. The carrots as a side, are amazing. Again cooked perfectly and just the right amount of sweetness. - Appetizer- fried calamari is delicious. The sauce on the side is a bit of sweet and hot - French onion soup - wonderful flavors and just the right amount of cheese. - Soft shell crab - this was the special of the evening. It was very good and flavorful served on a bed of spinach. I was glad that I got it, but probably would not order it a second time (like we do with the prime rib). read more

We went here for Mothers Day Anniversary and our waitress Liv who is a young vibrant pretty girl and going to school waited on us with a smile and making us feel like we were the only ones she was taking care of! She made us feel comfortable and made this visit enjoyable We enjoyed as usual the dinner we ordered and will go back too. We moved away from the area to Austin, TX in 2015. This was one of our favorite spots for a nice dinner and live music with a beautiful lake view. We are visiting the area and thought it would be great to reminisce. The new (or not so new - new to us) outdoor deck bar was great for the 30 minute wait on a Saturday night. We were seated within the 30 minute wait time and handed menus. Boy, the prices have changed! All meals, including sandwiches were $13-$45. This would have been fine if the atmosphere reflected those prices, for example linens on the tables and bread baskets and staff that was at the ready. Our kid's 12 and under kids meals were $7.50 and supposed to include drinks, which the server charged us additionally for. They each ordered cheeseburgers and they were humungous. My oldest, a 10 year old felt bad that she couldn't finish it and I felt bad that there was so much waste in the end. Our three kids could have shared one plate and been full. My husband and I shared (as we always do, single portion sizes are just too big for us) and were charged a $4.95 split plate charge. It included an extra salad and side (choice of pasta), but we could have easily done without. We had the Chicken Franchaise and it was delicious but lack luster in appearance. I ordered a gin and tonic, both at the table and deck bar and both times were asked what fruit I would like on it? Lime, please! As far as service goes, hostess and bartender were very sweet and hospitable. Our server was okay until we inquired about when the food would arrive and asked to have the extra kids drinks removed from the check. Not the same place we remember, not sure if we will be back to reminisce anytime soon. read more

I had dinner here last night with my family and we had the most delightful waitress. I can't recall her name because it was quite unusual, but she made sure we had a wonderful night. I'd had come here previously and had a bad experience but after last night I will definitely be back again. I ordered the Garden pasta and the vegetables was just beautifully seasoned and cooked. From start to finish, our services was amazing. Our waitress didn't miss a skip! The only downside was that they no longer have the brownie cake but our waitress recommended we go with the lemon special cake which was 10/10! read more

We are local and this will never not be one of our absolute top choices. We have never had a bad meal here and look forward to going for every special occasion. Nice place with a lovely view of the lake from the deck. The service was outstanding. We were one of the last tables seated, we had waited a while for our table and they came out to let us know that they could squeeze us at a smaller table (which we were fine with and appreciated the effort). Everyone we encountered - hostess, wait staff, bussing staff - all had masks on. The food was very good. And even though we were one of the last ones out, we didn't feel rushed at all - but we took our dessert to go - just to be mindful that the staff probably wanted to go. Excellent service staff who are very attentive. The place was packed yet our food came out quick. The view of the lake was better than in "lake front" establishments we attempted to eat in earlier that day. The food way okay. The presentation was lacking. My filet was dry and flavorless. I ordered onions and mushrooms thinking it will be served in some kind of sauce on top of the meat like I've had before, but it was just sautéed onions with mushrooms. Hubby had past with shrimp. Look like something from cafeteria. Just boiled pasta with a few shrimp that where in a sauce. The flavors were okay. But, nothing to write home about. We enjoyed the calamari and the strawberry shortages ice cream dessert. The dessert was definitely great and the best part of the meal. All in all, a solid place if you are in the area. But, I wouldn't travel especially here. I have to say once again, management is doing something right with regards to staffing because honestly the staff were very nice, I just wish that the food was a tad better and more appealing. read more

We were in town for a few days and wanted a nice meal out, ideally for a good steak. Gresham's appeared to be on the higher end of local restaurants, and as a chop house you'd expect that they could cook a decent steak. We were so wrong. First the good, all of the staff were very friendly, and were clearly doing their best. The wait time was estimated at about 25 minutes, in reality it was 45 minutes, but that's not too bad. The seared ahi appetizer was good, but the burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer came with grape tomatoes instead of heirloom. That's not even the same dish. Finally, when it came to their steaks, their highest end was an Angus grade (lol) strip steak, so I went with that, ordered medium rare. Not only did it come out medium well, which the server instantly acknowledged was wrong, but this was clearly not a first as she commented how she'll go yell at the kitchen staff again. The restaurant is a very nice mid-range option, has a nice atmosphere, and is clearly popular locally, but it absolutely isn't a chop house by even the most generous measure. read more

One of the nicer places in Hawley, but honestly that is not saying much compared to all the other places in Hawley. Did I expect more? I did for the prices. Service is always the bright spot here, but the wait for a table is always what makes me not want to come back. My first time at this restaurant and in this town. I had read the mixed reviews but still wanted to make my own opinion. Went at 6:45 on a Friday night. The parking lot was full but we were seated immediately. The waitress was very friendly. We ordered a round of Mango Tango cocktails. Nice tropical flavors. Coconut shrimp for apps and the salad that arrived after was good. My entree was the braised short ribs. They were so tender and tasty. My wife ordered the Delmonico. We both enjoyed the meal and the scenic view of our table was the sun setting on the lake. I have nothing negative to say. read more

We went on a somewhat busy Friday night recently and were seated right away. Service was prompt and the atmosphere felt very...local. I got the impression everyone there was a 'regular,' it was a good vibe. My wife loved the rosemary oil and bread. She had chicken marsala and I had shrimp scampi, both were good, no complaints. There's a sign at the bottom of the entrance telling you to go up the hill, good thing or we would have been lost in the dark. The parking lot needs some more light. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. That's about all this place has going for it. Paid $30 for a steak that was tasteless and tough. Ask for salt to give it some flavor and they bring paper salt packets. One of the worst steaks I have had at any price. The French onion soup was also terrible. It was extremely bland and the bread (not croutons) was so stale as to be in-edible. Salad was decent but nothing special and the pork potstickers were the best thing we had. Wow has this place improved since my last visit about 3 years ago! Tonight five of us dined for dinner two people ordered their chicken special which was very good, two enjoyed the oh so tender Osso Bucco which had a twang of a barbecue flavor which was interesting. The ambiance is great. Servers are great. Most aggravating part is we made a reservation specifically stating we were all ordering prime rib. Arrive and at 6:30 not enough prime rib.
