While staying at the nearby AC Hotel in Downtown DC, I walked across the street and tried Gregory's Coffee for the first time. After surveying the glass case filled with lots of baked goods and reading over the menu, we settled on an Iced Salted Caramel Oat Milk latte and hot drip coffee with oat milk and two Splendas. I know, a boring order. The two ladies behind the counter were welcoming and lively and answered questions and clarified our order. The open seating area is ideal for conversation, work area, and just has an overall warm and welcoming vibe. At the end of the day, I tried about three coffee joints, and Gregory's was my favorite in coffee taste, texture, and blend. When in DC, I might try another stand but probably not. read more

I'm usually a matcha and chai girlie, but after being gifted a Gregory's Coffee gift card... consider me converted! I'm embarrassed to admit me and my girly pop have been here everyday for the past 2 weeks (somebody cut the check). Their seasonal drink, the "Fall Oat Boy", is absolutely addictive -- it's the perfect cozy-sweet blend for autumn. Pair it with their pumpkin spice muffin, and chefs kiss. Thank me later . Service-wise, it's usually just 1-2 employees holding it down while managing both in-store and online orders, so I always give them grace -- they're doing their best, and it shows. The ambiance is also a vibe: reminds me of the coffee shops back home in Florida -- warm, laid-back, and just the right amount of busy. Gregory's really understood the assignment this season. read more

The best Coffee, the new sandwiches are amazing, and the pastries are always so tasty. Love this place.

They don't serve dark roast coffee and the store was dirty and uninviting. Go to the nearest Starbucks.

Favorite place for coffee when visiting DC. The coffee shop is decorated nicely, with bright lights and lots of seating. The coffee is always just right, never bitter nor too sweet, and very good quality. The customer service is friendly and lets you take your time in deciding what to order. read more

Gregorys Coffee is a 3/5 star for me. Their coffee/drink selections boast fun variations, and the baked goods have a nice variety. Service is efficient, with quick corrections for any order misunderstandings. The ambiance features a pleasantly simple and modern aesthetic with ample seating options. Whether for a treat or study session, Gregorys Coffee is a satisfactory choice. read more

This is a gem! Stumbled upon it on my way to go shopping and it exceeded my wildest dreams. Their menu is vegan friendly. Made with quality ingredients. Staff was very helpful. And they have vegan cold foam. 10/10 ! Support the local coffee shops. Always worth it! Cute ambiance. read more

Solid coffee and friendly staff. Slightly expensive but on par with other coffee shops like Starbucks.

On my way to meet a friend, I stopped by Gregory's Coffee in Downtown DC. I was thirsty, so I decided to get a Blueberry Chai Refresher. I liked how it was fruity, not too sweet, and quite refreshing. In addition to the beverage, I picked up a few bakery items, including a Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, and Chocolate Chip Cookie. Among them, my favorite was the Chocolate Croissant. I liked how the croissants weren't too buttery! read more

A good chain coffee shop in downtown and worth going if you need a quick, reasonably-priced coffee. The service was excellent and the people behind the counter courteous. I got a small dark roast and a Rice Chex Treat. Especially for a chain coffee, the coffee was relatively flavorful, strong, and affordable. While unique, the Rice Chex treat was dry and hard to chew. read more

This is for Gregory's on L street. Stopped by after a conference and a day in DC and got a classic vanilla latte! Rich and creamy, can't get any better than that! I would definitely come back for their vegan pastries too! read more

The outdoor seating with cute decor is what attracted me to walk inside and order a cold brew on a sunny fall day. The cashier was very pleasant and greeted everyone who walked in. I found myself in this little coffee shop on Valentine's Day. They had a few different Valentine-themed coffees that sounded heavenly! I ordered the mocha strawberry espresso and it was amazing! Good iced coffee with fun variations and a good selection of bakery items. Service was good - cashier didn't hear that I specified the vegan option for the deluxe croissant sandwich and they quickly corrected it. Recommend the vegan deluxe as it was delicious and filling. Simple and modern aesthetic with many seating options inside and outside. A good spot to grab a treat or to hang out and study. read more

3 stars because the coffee is delicious. I've been to this Gregory's 4 times now. The first time there was a very pleasant guy taking my order but the last three times it's been the same two people. They don't greet you at all, they just stare at you until you state what you want. Then get irritated when you can't make up your mind. So God forbid if you have any questions. The coffee is 10/10 I must say but ordering online for pick up is best at this spot. read more

I ordered the Honey Badger cold brew beverage but it was quite disappointing. The employee was super friendly, but she misinformed me when I asked if it was sweet. The drink was extremely bitter. I don't know why this place has so many mediocre reviews. It's in the middle of a bunch of other food in DC, but stands out as a thoughtful option for breakfast or coffee. What stood out to me the most are the toasts they offer-- unlike other coffee shops in the area that pile more than you can eat on a huge slab of brioche, the toasts served at Gregory's are the perfect size, and there are pretty interesting options to choose from. I got avocado toast, which was served on a thick whole wheat bread and topped with chili oil and chili pepper flakes. . The honey badger cold brew is a must-try if you prefer drinks that aren't too sweet. The americanos are pretty balanced (not too strong). Seating is good, and all seats have tables. Service takes a little bit but overall this is a great spot that has a good atmosphere, has interesting options, and isn't too expensive. read more

Gregory's Coffee is the latest non-DC coffee shop chain to try to capitalize on the coffee wave hitting our nation's capital. I'm split on Gregory's. Here's what's to like and what's not to like: What to like: - Seating: They have plenty of tables and I've never had an issue finding an open table. -Outlets: Unlike many coffee shops, they have enough outlets for your computer AND smart phone. Wifi: They have free, strong, and reliable wifi. What's not to like: -Coffee: It's not bad at all. It's just not the best in the city. Visit any local coffee shop (Peregrine, Colony Club, Maketto, Slipstream to name a few) and you'll have a better cup of coffee. -Pastries: I have a sweet tooth and love anything with chocolate and sugar in it. I've tried 4-5 different pastries at Gregory's and they aren't worth the steep price and/or calories. I've had the chocolate chip cookie, glazed donut, their breads, and a few muffins. Each has been super dry and not tasty at all. I wouldn't go to Gregory's to drink or eat. Just come for the wifi and open tables. read more

DONT GO BEFORE WORK. It shouldn't take me 25 minutes to get a simple latte. Only one person working and he takes his sweet time. I work up the block and now I'm late. I had 20 minutes to do something that should only take 10 and now I'm late 10 minutes which means this entire situation took 30 minutes. If this company wants to have only one person working in the morning they should have someone who understands PEOPLE HAVE TO GO TO WORK IN THE MORNING. Latte was mid, not even worth the wait. I had the gingerbread latte. read more

First time at any Gregory's Coffee location, and it was a solid experience. The Flower Power Cold Brew (cold brew infused with lavender and a touch of honey, and blended with unsweetened hemp milk) was lightly sweetened with a reasonable number of calories. The vegan burrito (not pictured) was surprisingly delicious. It's not pictured, in part, because I ate it before thinking about taking a picture for this post. Lol. While I don't need to eat meat, I don't really seek out vegan options either. I noticed there were a number of vegan options on the menu, and as a result of this experience, I remain open to trying all of them. AmEx is accepted here. read more

I had about an hour to spare before a doctor's appointment across the street, so I stopped by Gregorys coffee to get in a quick study session. I loved the dark color palette and modern vibe, and there were plenty of small tables inside and out to sit and chat with friends or do some work. I got a large Matcha latte (default is with almond milk so that's perfect). It was actually pretty good and strong in matcha flavor and not sweetened, which was great. I would've preferred it to be a little bit hotter, as it was more lukewarm, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Overall I think Gregorys Coffee is a nice coffee shop -- a bit pricey but the vibe and experience are worth it. This location is great for a coffee break or study/work session...plus there's free WiFi!! read more

When you walk in & they know your name and ask if you'd like your usual - living that DC dream. I love the personality this Gregory's has. The morning crew always puts a smile on my face (Thanks Chris and Bri!) I think they know a solid few dozen of us by name. They also started a little Polaroid thing that is so cute. I'm a fan of those premixed iced coffees & the mocha. It's also nice to have options like almond milk, oat milk etc when I'm pretending to be healthy. Also, can we find out what bread they use for that Avocado toast? It's perfect. I think the other Gregory's was technically closer to my office but this one has that community vibe that's hard to get working downtown. read more

I stopped by here the other day after visiting the breastfeeding center right next door (this mama still needs to get her caffeine fix now and then). I went in and ordered a drip coffee and a chai. It was pretty empty, there was maybe one or two other people but it was also in the middle of a work day so I wasn't expecting too much of a hustle at that time. It took a little bit longer than expected but the wait was worth it. The coffee was tasty and my dirty chai was exactly what I was looking for. The space is trendy, cozy, and welcoming and it is big enough if you wanted to hunker down and do some work. If this was a tad bit closer to my house or office I'd definitely swing by more often (there are just too many coffee shops between here and where I am that are also delicious!). I'm excited to go back and see what other fun drinks they might have. I've been seeing other Gregory shops around and am looking forward to exploring it some more. read more

I was in town for work for the week. I saw this shop on my first day and got a salted caramel cold brew. It was AMAZING!!!!! Perfect for a hot and humid DC day. Seriously, as a SoCal resident, I can do hot but this humid is stupid dumb. On my last day in town, I told the employees that I was sad to leave this yummy beverage behind but try as I might, they would not give me the recipe. Apparently, they are only on the East Coast (sad face). If ever in the area, try this place. The employees at this location particularly were all very nice, helpful, and quick with the caffeine. Thanks. I'll see you again hopefully soon. read more

I'll start by saying I love the staff here at the M street loc in DC. They get 5 stars. But the business itself is turning out to be a disappointment. It's nice to see healthier options for beverages. The coffee bean itself is average in flavor and taste - other roasters like Stumptown give you better flavor. Some of these drinks are way over priced. They charge $8 for their ginger shot-- this is double the price at most places including Pret a manger, and their shots have more ginger in them. Even jrink, which I have found to be disappointing when you look at dollar versus value, has a decent ginger shot for $4. I recommend their coffee beverages and their pastries are fine but some of their products are desperately in need of a look at price for value. read more

Their Twitter and website say they're on 1900 L St NW but they're actually located on 19th St NW next to Bold Bite.. very misleading The decor is trying too hard to mimic the Brooklyn hipster vibe. ** SCORE IS FOR NEW 19TH & L STORE ** This place has potential, but for opening week, they failed... miserably. * No welcome messaging or greetings. Rule #1 - make a positive impression, especially when establishing youself in a new market. The place is small, sure the staff can manage looking up & saying "Welcome to Gregorys!"- sadly, they looked miserable. * Snacks are stale as sh*t. Rule #2 - Serve fresh food. Not sure what is going on here, but both my Vegan Bar & Lemon Poppy Slice seemed like 3-4 days old. Extra hard edges, and tasteless. * Staff needs improvement. Rule #3 - Be professional / Be attentive / Be kind. Bit of a cocky vibe going on here, sure I get you're a NY brand, but leave that garbage at the door. Complete waste of $6 bucks, and my time walking down to try it. read more
