To kick off summer I came here and purchased 2 papaya matcha lemonade drinks which is one of their promotional seasonal drinks. It has papaya coconut milk along with some type of lime whip topping. I slipped away from work to walk over here and get these for a couple of people on my team. When I arrived, I realized that I should have given myself more time because the line was all the way to the door. The line moved along which was good. This Cafe is very nice and there are several rooms where people can drink coffee or eat breakfast. Because of all of the people, it was quite loud. I spent less than ten minutes and my fruitybdrinks were ready to go. This is a very nice Cafe.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, there wasn't a line to order and there was plenty of seating. The cherry blossom latte was really good! It is slightly sweet, but very tasty so I finished it pretty quickly. The barista made it with a white foam heart on top. Besides coffee, they sell kombucha, fruit juice, and a limited breakfast menu all day. This is a cute coffee shop to consider visiting in Georgetown.

One of the worst iced matcha lattes with almond milk I've ever purchased.

My husband and I used to go to this Compass Coffee all the time. The baristas used to be so friendly and my husband thought the coffee was great. I've always been happy with my drink orders here. I decided to drop in and was surprised how much it has gone downhill since five years ago. The baristas were not friendly at all and were quietly rude and impatient. The environment felt chaotic but not in a fun bustling way like I remember. I could've ignored all of this if the order itself was actually good. Even just moderately good. But the iced matcha latte with almond milk that I got was surprisingly gross. Probably one of the worst (if not the worst) that I've ever gotten. I tried to give it several sips to give it a fair chance. But it was so bad, I eventually discarded of it after a few sips. It was watery and did not have a good flavor at all. $7 down the drain. For a matcha latte that is actually good, I'd recommend Maman just steps away, Blank Street on Prospect close to the Wisconsin intersection, or even CapitalOne Cafe on M Street which serves Verve Coffee (50% off house-made drinks if you use your CapitalOne card). I'd even bet that most coffee places in Georgetown have better matcha lattes than the one I got at this Compass. But those three were the only Georgetown ones I tried recently aside from this Compass location. This was a really disappointing experience, especially since this Compass Coffee was such a big part of when my husband and I used to live here. I guess good things don't last forever. Leaving two stars instead of one in memory of what this place used to be and also because the building itself is actually still quite nice.

Just on the corner good seating places in and out. Their coffee is delicious, they have bakery too.

Probably one of the top 5 coffee shops locations in DC for working remote or taking a business meeting. It's large with many chairs, tables and desk options. A lot of coffee shops in DC are small with not a lot of work spaces. This a true coffee shop. Then to add the coffee is the best in town. With different brew options. Nothing is water down. Service is top notch and the staff is friendly. Pros - great coffee - great brew options - large working space - fireplace - large plush couches Only con - I wish it was closer to me. The Navy Yard location looks nothing like this.

Multiple staff members are working behind a curved wooden counter in a coffee shop, with coffee machines, dispensers, and digital screens displaying menu options. A customer with a backpack is standing at the counter, and the interior features modern lighting and decor, including white tiled walls and a wood-paneled ceiling.

For those unfamiliar, Compass Coffee is a local coffee shop chain that roasts their own coffee. Veteran-owned, they have locations throughout the region. This one, inside an old theater, is among one of their biggest with plenty of seating. Their menu is straight forward with seasonal drinks changing. If you have a sweet tooth, I love their Almond Butter Latte. It's perfect!

Very large interior space. - The image shows the interior of a coffee shop with a modern design, including a large illuminated sign spelling 'COFFEE' in blue and gold letters. The space has a curved bar counter with coffee-making equipment and staff preparing drinks. There are seating areas with customers, white stools, and tables, along with a brick wall and round wall lights. The ceiling has recessed lighting, and large windows at the back provide natural light.

I am a bit of an espresso purist, and I was a little bit disappointed in my experience at compass coffee given the positive reviews I had seen. I could definitely see how the espresso brewed here, which is very strong in flavor, would do really well in a latte or cappuccino. However, individual shots seem to be too diluted, with a very weak crema that doesn't hold up. The service was super friendly the morning I visited, and my drink came out quickly. I really liked the indoor space, which looks like an excellent place to get some work done or read. I may consider returning to try one of the "fancier" drinks, but would see out other options in Georgetown for a straight shot of espresso.

We stopped by for a quick breakfast and coffees. They were quite busy and the line was long, but they've got a lot of seating and the food was out within a reasonable time. The sandwiches were pretty tasty: egg & bacon (2 strips, 1 piece slightly under cooked) on a very soft brioche type bun. My drip coffee was good, but my daughter LOVED her cold brew...said it might've been the best she'd had.

Decided to drop in while in georgetown to try one of the specialty drinks, the cherry blossom latte. Very crowded place, but nice cozy ambience and a fireplace in the back too. Good for studying, lots of students there. Drink itself is not that great though, but perhaps the wrong thing was ordered

Two cups of coffee with latte art are positioned on a round wooden table in a coffee shop. The cups are paper, with one prominently displaying the words 'PEAK AND GOOD COFFEE' in orange. The latte art features a heart-shaped pattern. A white plastic lid is placed beside one of the cups. The background includes a person wearing dark clothing and some chairs, indicating an indoor café environment.

Stopped into Compass Coffee to warm up for a little, after walking around Georgetown with my fiancé. The shop was very busy, but we managed to find a table for two, after ordering a cappucino and a mocha. Both featured latte art, which was cute. The mocha was rich with chocolate, and the cappucino had great espresso flavor. Good shop to take a break from walking around in the cold.

    Iced Nutella latte

I came when they first opened then I moved to another state and haven't come back until today. I used to always get their hot Nutella latte but I decided to try the iced version instead. This is the only place I know of that serves Nutella flavored drinks so I like that. It makes them more unique. This location is very spacious and convenient for those who wish to work on their computers here. Prior to this location I went to the Rosslyn location in Virginia. The price is around the same if not a little more than Starbucks. But I think its a great alternative to Starbucks. I'll be sure to stop by this location again next time I'm in the area.

    Nice decor, study space

Fun, local experience. Packed with students and people working. Friendly staff. Free Wifi. Great location in town. Quick service despite a crowd. Lots of seating. Very big space for studying, working, meeting, or whatever. Has a little more local feel than Starbucks does at times. Give them a try.

Place was nice, however probably the worst made iced vanilla latte I've ever had. Maybe was a one off but still.

We got a pastry that I think they were calling an apple fritter, but the pictures don't really look like one. Honestly, I'm a little late to this review after the trip so all my details may not be exact, but I ran across the photo in my phone and I had to review the spot because I enjoyed it so much. The service was friendly and quick. The space itself was very clean and simple. It seemed to be a study spot for college students so it was a bit hard to grab a place to sit for a few minutes until somebody left. Definitely worth stopping in, grabbing your coffee, and walking to the waterfront on a quiet morning. That's not exactly how we did it, but I think that's a plan for the next time we return to DC.

Great coffee spot in Georgetown! Pretty large space with decent indoor and outdoor seating…read more Appreciated their seasonal menu with some more unique offerings like soy miso latte and banana fosters latte. Service was great - super friendly and appreciated learning more details on their offerings (ie: the banana Foster's has real banana in it and it is more spice forward than banana - a win in my book). Also learned that they offer classes there! Love that they have I house roasting that you can also see. Ordered the Banana Foster's Iced Latte - however, it wasn't over ice? It was lukewarm. I think if it was over ice it would have been better. We found that strange and that is what knocked it down to 4 stars. The spice level was exactly what I expected based on what was shared upon ordering.
