Popped in to try the Cherry Blossom Specials. The shop was giving samples of their Cherry cold brew with foam and it was delicious. We preferred a Cherry Blossom latte and a Cherry blended drink sans the coffee in that one. Both drinks were delicious! The latte was smoothie and had the perfect ratio of coffee to milk. The blended drink was also delicious even without the coffee. It was thick and milky, almost like a cherry shake. The place was cute and was decked out in Cherry decor because of the blossoms. The store was clean and the staff was super friendly. The service was quick and there was plenty of space to sit and enjoy our beverages. The shop also sells specialty coffees including the cherry blossom special edition coffees. Enjoy!

The strawberry machan is one of my favorites, aside from the usual capuchino that I order more frequently. Their coconut iced latte is also a good drink from here. This store is usually pretty busy and most of the people in here are ordering to-go. There's very little seating, and the chairs are cramped together and solid wood which is not the most comfortable. So if you're a digital nomad looking for a place to work, this probably isn't the best place for that. The people working here are cool, and they've always gotten my drink order right.

Compass Coffee was fine. Service was ok. The two employees seemed more interested in talking to each other than interacting with me. Once I ordered, this changed. The man making my drink began talking to me a bit about my drink choice. The Maple Cold Brew I ordered was, again, just ok. I was expecting more as the drink ingredients were similar to one of my favorite coffee drinks I've ever had. This one wasn't that. I took a mocha to go for my wife. She enjoyed it a lot. She said "it was one of the better ones I've had in DC". Price wise Compass was comparable to other coffee shops I've visited in DC.

Saw the sign that they have really good coffee, so I had to try. I got a caramel iced latte and I actually really liked it. I would get a coffee from there again. Would choose them any day over Dunkin

Good coffee that is inching that green giant. Serves baked goods, teas, the usual fare. Service is good. Ambiance is good. Verdict - sure, I'd return here for some coffee.

I tried their chai tea, latte, and liked it. The coffee smelled really really good so I'm sure that would also be nice.

    $5 comeback offer

This is one of my favorite locations! It's spacious, clean, and well maintained. The crew members are always friendly. They have an array of pastries. Their rewards program is superb. If you don't go there for a few weeks, they pop a $5 reward on your account (free to join and easy to collect points) as a comeback offer. There is a handicap ramp at the entrance. The center of the coffees hop has condiments and trash bins, and there is seating along the window. My favorite spot is the corner nook or the space at the far back, but the area in the rear is next to the bathroom. The bathroom has a coded lock that you have to ask the barista for. They're currently running a cherry blossom beverage that I plan to try on my next visit! If you sign up for their loyalty account, you get the equivalent of five $5 pastries, which is incredibly generous!

Had to find a good coffee place while visiting, and Compass Coffee hit the spot! Convenient locations and local to D.C., this coffee shop has something for everyone - your simple black coffee and espresso to bright and colorful creamy, seasonal drinks (e.g., a cherry blossom latte). Service was quick and easy - order at the counter and pay, and your baristas will carefully craft your drinks. It's a cute coffee shop with seating spaces and bright lighting. Lots of items for sale, and a small breakfast menu (sandwiches) along with pastries are available as well. The almond butter latte was creamy and smooth. Had the perfect flavor and was well balanced without being too milky or too sweet!

    Cappuccino & Vanilla Latte

Fantastic coffee! An iced Vanilla Latte was our favorite! Cappuccino was delicious as well! Small interior with very few food choices, but a hit just the same.

I've already raved about Compass Coffee in a review for a different location but I can't help but spread the love here as well. I am not in DC often but I love knowing where to find a GREAT cup of coffee in this city! And they were literally everywhere. I walked around on my one morning off for a few hours and saw them every few blocks. I barely had to map directions to them I was so sure I would come across one. Quick highlight reel: good coffee bright and clean shop fast little plants in their coffee cans all over! I am definitely not a chain gal, but I am pretty sold on Compass. ~End of rave~

Love that this spot is just off the blue line metro! Service was fast, and they got the order just as I requested -- a decaf lavender iced latte. For $7 it was a little high end, but the quality was there. There's a good amount of seating inside, and natural lighting. My meet up was in a corner of the store, and I truly enjoyed the convenience. Food wise, there wasn't too much to offer, so I went there hungry and came home hungry.

My fave coffee place in DC. Great cold brew, friendly staff and a good espresso - everyone in here seems to be ordering iced drinks today & there's some pretty new fruity ones but I'm sticking w their fab cappuccino

This is a cute, trendy place where I mostly female customers. Lol. Most all the baristas were women in there too! There's two different ordering counters, but only one was being used when I came in the morning. There were lots of people sitting in here chatting. A good number waiting for drinks, but not much of a line. I got the lavender latte with oat milk. It was a little over $5 for a medium. These are flat white type lattes, so they give you an extra shot of espresso which I like. It's got a lot of natural light coming in from all these windows and a neutral color palette. They've got matcha and tumeric lattes. Their menu is pretty small though, but I'm sure people like the simplicity. My latte was pretty good. The lavender has a nice flavor.

Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
