I got the savory pie that was stuffed with an unctuous gumbo filling made with creole spices, the holy trinity (onions, peppers, and celery), and a generous portion of chicken. The pie pastry had a perfect flaky crumb that held the filling together. A friend had their breakfast sandwich, which had a rustic and delightful tang from the inclusion of sourdough in the biscuit batter that paired well with the thick slab of egg and crispy bacon. Incredibly savory items. I'm always gravitated towards how well a cafe can do a savory menu and this exceed my expectations. Friends I came in with who got their coffee said that it was very delicious, and the baristas can make a beautiful frothy and rich matcha latte. Its both parts technical skills to pull coffee or whisk matcha and sourcing of high-quality ingredients. Drinks make up a large part of any cafe, so to do it well here in this neighborhood cafe is exceptional. The baristas are running that place like a tight ship! Tip well!

There is a helpful parking guide on the street side entrance, although you can also access the place in the back from the parking lot. They have entrances on both the street and parking lot sides. Inside is clean and was pretty busy despite it being near closing time. I came for a Too Good To Go bag to try this place out. Overall, the baked items tasted good. However, it's not something I would purposely make a return trip for.

I love coming here as a special coffee treat when I'm in the area, and it's a great meeting spot when you need a table or are meeting a bigger group. They've updated their menus and have some new coffee drinks, I believe the coffee is still the same supplier and the barista let me know you could still get any of the drinks from the old menu. Much the same look and fell with some updates and improved spacing of the seating area. Very friendly service. Great coffee. Looking forward to trying the food offerings sometime soon. You're going to love this place." She knows me well. Walking into Weird Brothers feels a little like stumbling into the cantina after taking a wrong turn through Mos Eisley. The place is loaded with Star Wars, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, and Nightmare Before Christmas memorabilia. As a longtime Star Wars fan and hardcore comic collector, I immediately went into "Okay, let's see what they have" mode. And that's before even getting to the coffee. Weird Brothers roasts their own beans and has a bunch of sci-fi-themed blends. The names alone had me reaching for my wallet. I'm the kind of person who will buy a comic because it says "First Appearance" on the bag, so naturally I'm susceptible to coffee with a geeky name. They even have a special blend for the CrossFit gym next door, which I thought was a pretty cool touch.
