I love coming here as a special coffee treat when I'm in the area, and it's a great meeting spot when you need a table or are meeting a bigger group. They've updated their menus and have some new coffee drinks, I believe the coffee is still the same supplier and the barista let me know you could still get any of the drinks from the old menu. Much the same look and fell with some updates and improved spacing of the seating area. Very friendly service. Great coffee. Looking forward to trying the food offerings sometime soon. My friend got the (Real!) strawberry match and I got the banana cream matcha. Both were super delicious! I also felt the matcha wasn't ceremonial grade. It had that weird Starbucks fishy taste to it. We ordered breakfast as well- the breakfast indeed tasted homemade but not the kind that wowed me. Different coffee shops make macchiatos differently. some use mostly steamed milk while others use mostly foam. Instead of explaining how their version is made, the employee responded with, "What do you mean? It's a macchiato," which came across as dismissive and unhelpful. There was also confusion with my order because I was never asked whether it was for here or to go. Part of the order was prepared in a to-go cup while another part was prepared for dine in. When I politely asked if everything could be put into a to-go cup, the employee replied, "Can't you just chug it?" and appeared visibly annoyed by the request. What concerned me most was how the drink was handled afterward. The employee took the cup, held the lid in the area where customers place their mouths, carried it to the back, and returned with the coffee transferred into the cup. Watching someone repeatedly handle the drinking surface with bare hands was not something I expected from a food service establishment. Mistakes happen, but the combination of dismissive responses, poor communication, an unprofessional attitude, and questionable drink handling practices left a negative impression. I hope management addresses these issues, as customer service and basic hygiene should be priorities at any coffee shop.
