    Inside the place

We've been to a hidden gem in DC. We met and talked with the owner who was really cool. I enjoyed the way of his approach to coffee and his unique concept. He explained us why he created this business. Because he was tired of going to places for coffee and ordering something not fresh as he wanted. So he got the idea to do something special, an experience dedicatef to coffee lovers who want to choose their beans, origins, level of roast and much more. You only need to wait 20 minutes to get your package of coffee freshly roasters in front of you. Nice guy, nice story!

    Very cute spot

Nice coffee, but real half and half is needed. Why would I want pour shelf stable cream (with corn syrup) in this nice coffee??

Online ordering easy and freshly ordered beans ready for pickup same day! Looking forward to the planned downtown cafe location.

Updating for 2026: Still my top coffeeshop and roaster in the area! My favorite bean from the holiday season was the Cerro Dragon GEISHA - not only absolutely delicious but a great and wonderfully affordable--accessible--gift. It's always a delight to get to sit down and enjoy the cup and company no matter how crazy their rushes get.

Unfortunately, my experience at this coffee shop was disappointing due to poor customer service…read more When placing my order, I asked a simple question about how their macchiato is prepared. Different coffee shops make macchiatos differently. some use mostly steamed milk while others use mostly foam. Instead of explaining how their version is made, the employee responded with, "What do you mean? It's a macchiato," which came across as dismissive and unhelpful. There was also confusion with my order because I was never asked whether it was for here or to go. Part of the order was prepared in a to-go cup while another part was prepared for dine in. When I politely asked if everything could be put into a to-go cup, the employee replied, "Can't you just chug it?" and appeared visibly annoyed by the request. What concerned me most was how the drink was handled afterward. The employee took the cup, held the lid in the area where customers place their mouths, carried it to the back, and returned with the coffee transferred into the cup. Watching someone repeatedly handle the drinking surface with bare hands was not something I expected from a food service establishment. Mistakes happen, but the combination of dismissive responses, poor communication, an unprofessional attitude, and questionable drink handling practices left a negative impression. I hope management addresses these issues, as customer service and basic hygiene should be priorities at any coffee shop.

The lattes here are sweeter than savory but delicious, topped with thick whipped cream... I think it is homemade whipped cream, but whatever they do, they definitely aced it very well. - Habibi latte: very scrumptious! It is a must-get, although it's a seasonal drink, so it may not always be available...alas! Pretty sweet and almost like eating some Dubai chocolate as you drink it... worth the adventure! - The Bear Necessities: I was very impressed with this latte. I had low expectations, as most cafes can't perfect the dark art of latte for every latte drink on the menu, especially the seasonal drinks... But girl, I was proven wrong and I enjoyed this drink so much! It came with thick whipped cream topped with one graham cracker bear and crumbled graham crackers... The flavors were cinnamon and honey and reminded me of cinnamon crunch cereal in some ways, but of course, it wasn't too sweet though! I was tempted to order another one... The sandwiches (1 roast beef and 1 grilled turkey) were just average if you ask me to compare these with other sandwich specialty shops... next time, I'd try something else! Overall, no complaints as I'm impressed with the coffee options, especially the seasonal drinks! Service was good and quick. The employee behind the counter was super friendly and very accommodating to ensure she got our orders right. Plenty of seating on a Saturday late morning which was surprising. Lots of seating at the outdoor patio as well! Very spacious.

Great for a post-(long) run meal before I hop on the metro back to DC! The lattes are on the sweet side but delicious, thick, creamy, and very innovative--worth it. The food? Not so much, but still decent. I tried the following: - Habibi latte (hot with oat milk) - delicious!! Definitely a must-get. It was quite sweet but really reminded me of Dubai chocolate. Really amazing how they nailed down the flavors. Perfect for chocolate lovers and very unique and innovative. Presentation was also excellent, with a generous amount of whipped cream. - The bear necessities - equally delicious latte and really cute presentation too, with a graham bear cracker on top! I'm not a big fan of cinnamon-flavored drinks, but this one was more subtle. It was so thick and richly flavored that the cinnamon wasn't overpowering for me. I was very impressed. - Roast beef sandwich - meh okay. It was supposed to come with ciabatta bread (which I think would've tasted way better), but apparently, there was none that day, so I got it with sourdough bread. - Turkey sandwich - I got it served hot with sourdough bread, and my partner and I enjoyed this one more than the roast beef sandwich. The roasted red peppers were a nice addition to the sandwich. The accompanying salad with the sandwiches was fine, nothing special. Service was good and quick. Plenty of seating on a Saturday late morning, and the outdoor patio was cute and spacious.

Their menu is on boards behind the counter and they also have paper menus, which is helpful to those of us who need glasses! The staff was super friendly and helpful since I hadn't been there before. A+ to them for offering their coffee/espresso drinks in decaf! I had a vanilla latte and it had a deep, rich flavor. One of the best I've had in the area. For food, my friend had the bagel and lox and it was huge! She had to take half home. I had the garlic Boursin eggs. It was a nice pile of delicately cooked eggs, but I wished there was more garlic Boursin flavor. Still really good. It came with salad greens in a light vinaigrette, sauteed mushrooms, and avocado. Very nice dish. They have a serve-yourself water station and, though they bring out your order to your table, you must go get your cutlery and napkins. They have a nice number of tables for a small place and we were lucky to snag one. Overall, a really nice experience and I plan to go back with my husband next time.
