The owner Jay was very trustworthy and the project manager Elijah always followed through with what he said would be delivered. The workers showed up early each day as promised and did a wonderful job. I also loved the progress picture updates after each day of work. AAR had the best contract and price after sourcing multiple quotes. We even got the upgraded Solaris shingles by booking by a certain date in October which was awesome because they refract more heat in the summer. We added new gutters on for 4k too. If I had any constructive criticism to offer it would have been to communicate more with the placement on the gutters because we had to have them come back to make a patch and move the gutter to the side because it was better looking on the side of the house rather than a focal point in front. But as promised, they made it right and got the job done with my particular request. Our house looks so much more updated with these Morie Black Landmark shingles, rather than the old terracotta tiles that we had before. I've already referred 3 people to their company and my parents got their roof done by them a month later! It was a bummer they wouldn't honor a referral discount since they said we would have needed a sign out on our lawn to get a discount. They resculpted previously problematic drainage areas through thoughtful insulation techniques that led to improved drainage flow and removed ponding issues that were there with the previous old roof. It turns out the repairs were on an outdoor living space that Was roofed by the contractor not CFY. Not only did they make the repairs, they found a couple of other issues that were not called out. In short, CFY was communicative, accommodating, and proactive about clarifying the additional work. They sent before and after photos. Last month Spotlight Roofing reshingled the sides of our mansard roof. We had two goals... replace…read moreour splintering cedar shingle tiles and upgrade our insulation and fire protection. Working closely with our project manager, Gilad Rosen, we decided to go with Brava's synthetic cedar shakes, a Class A fire resistant material made out of recycled plastic, and come with a 50 year manufacturer warranty. Gilad was great with communicating and was upfront with every step of the process. We didn't know whether we had a plywood layer below the old shingles, so that was called out as an add-on in the contract. We also needed two underlayment layers to achieve the level of fire protection we wanted. There were some tricky issues around our roof-mounted windows. One set had leaked after their installation, and we wanted to make sure that got taken care of. Gilad and his crew were very responsive and made sure we were taken care of. We're delighted with the look of our house, and thrilled we won't have to worry about re-staining the shingles, or of them splintering and falling apart after a decade or two.

It had holes and dry rot, it cracked jokes about the end of the Cold War, it solemnly retold the tale of the Challenger exploding in the creaks I could hear at night. It was so old. My husband gathered multiple quotes for roof demolition and renovation. A few were lower, a few were higher, many others were pushier and more desperate than Gilad. So we went with Spotlight Roofing as the optimal choice. Work took four days for both removal of the old layer and installation of the new shingles, with the fourth day reserved for replacing the gutters. The chimney was included in this work. The team working on this was very well disciplined and cleaned everything up after the end of each work day. They even went out of their way to pick up flyaways after the wind blew stuff into the next door neighbor's yard. This neighbor is a hag who once knowingly gave away moldy lumpia and is very difficult to engage civilly with, so it was a pleasant surprise that she didn't harass the workers or anything. Overall, I would recommend Spotlight for professional demeanor, ease of communication, transparency, and competent workers contributing their blood, sweat, tears, and rooftop Spanish ballads to the total roof replacement. First of all, I called because in the last rain storm we had in the Bay Area, we found evidence in our ceiling of a water spot in the drywall. I searched the yelp and was looking for roofing companies that had at least a four star rating and was quickly intrigued by the five star rating of Atlas Roofing. I called and immediately received a little bit of guidance on the phone and was given an appointment for the next day to have somebody come out and take a look. The next day Dave came out and spent a good amount of time looking on the inside of the house, going through the attic, and walking on the roof itself to look and see if he could find the leak and also to gauge the condition of the roof and the wood foundation underneath the wall roof. I originally was hoping to just repair where the leak was, but after talking to Dave I realize that it would be better to just replace the entire roof. My roof was already 30 years old. Dave gave me clear options to either repair the hole or replace the whole roof, and within that there were several options to choose from in replacing the roof. He carefully explained the process, the amount of time he anticipated the job to take, and what I could expect. Everything that Dave said and explained was 100% accurate. He is professional, knowledgeable, and very good at explaining things in Laymans terms The job started the following Monday. The crew was very efficient, very professional, and worked at an incredible pace. They cleaned up after themselves every day. By the end of the first day, the old roof was off and the wood base was exposed completely. At this time they were able to show me that there was no need to replace the wood underneath the roof. By the end of the first day they had started to place some of the new roof on the backside of my house. Within three days, the entire roof was finished. Dave and his crew handled all of the inspections from the city, pulled all the permits needed, and took care of everything from beginning to end. I could not be more happy with the quality of the craftsmanship, the crew, and of course, the roof. Having a 50 year roof and a piece of mind is important during these times. I did not plan to have to replace a roof (I don't think anybody does) but I am happy that I found Atlas Roofing. I would highly recommend this company. I know a lot of people cut corners and I know a lot of people find a cheap alternative. I truly believe you get what you pay for. I can go on and on about my experience, but I think pictures are worth 1000 words. I wanted to be detailed in this review because most people will only replace a roof once or twice in their lifetime. It's not like we have a lot of resources or experience with this. Dave and Atlas Roofing are worth the time and investment that you put into this. While I hope I never need another roof in my lifetime, I would not hesitate to go through Atlas if that need ever came up in the future.
