I (regretfully) did not end up moving forward with them on this project, but wanted to write a review because I was so thoroughly impressed with my interactions with Doron. Doron was the first contractor that I spoke with about my project, and was by far the best experience that I had. He took the time to really look at my space, listened to my needs and specific requests, and gave great suggestions on how I could improve it. After taking measurements he sat down with me for over an hour patiently answering all of my questions. This was my first time considering a major remodel and he was great at anticipating where I would need guidance. He also showed me various completed projects in his portfolio and I was so impressed with the quality of his work. I could tell that he really takes pride in his team and his craftsmanship. Doron was able to provide me with an initial quote on the same day as our consultation. I ended up with further questions and changes, and he graciously set up a zoom call with me to address them the following day. Out of all the contractors that I spoke with, Doron stuck out for being the most passionate about his work and also the most detail oriented. I really appreciated his honesty with me about what I could reasonably expect. As this was my first project, I didn't have a good idea on what to expect regarding costs. I didn't end up moving forward with Method Remodeling because of my budget, but would love to work with them in the future when I am better established.

The things that I really appreciated about Method: Communication: weekly meetings, daily updates on the work. It was always clear where we were in the project. Honest and transparent pricing: I think there were several surprises along the way that another contractor would have upcharged us, but Doron often went the extra mile. Extra effort to fix whatever problems came up: All projects have their hiccups and I felt like Doron and his team made every effort to fix whatever came up and work with us to solve problems.

His attention to detail was stellar. He was back and forth with the structural engineer pointing out issues with the design, and even proposing superior fixes which were incorporated into the plan and verified. The project went smoothly and I was able to keep my earthquake deductibles low. I just had a contractor doing a home inspection for me point out how solid the retrofitting work was. (The previous owners were obviously HGTV and DIY addicts that couldn't stay away from painting stripes and spray can flocking.) We asked several local contractors for quotes and Derek Kulda is the only one who actually took the time to take measurements, talk to us and walk through our different options. In fact, he's the only one who came back with a proposal that was within our budget and exactly what we wanted. Well... two small bathroom remodels turned into a brand new house - new floors, plumbing, electrical, paint, bathrooms, walk in closet. Obviously we went way over budget and it took longer than anticipated, but the reaction we've received from everyone has been incredible. Our home appraised for over $125k more than what we paid and we couldn't be happier. Derek and his team took the time to listen to us, walk us through our options, get all the proper approvals and permits, present scenarios where we could save money/cut back on costs and present an amazing final product. His team was efficient, clean, courteous and professional. And when I got antsy on the time line (my expectations were way off base), Derek's team came in on weekends to help finish the job quickly. I don't seem to be able to take down my review posted on 11/15/14, but I have just learned (through…read morean e-mail from Derek Kulda that through my own inadvertence I didn't receive until yesterday) that he was NOT the general contractor for the project at 2805 Naples Avenue, Half Moon Bay, CA, and that although he had his sign up in front of the house, the owner of the home was his own contractor and that Kulda and Sons had only the limited role of "renting" some crewman for some labor for the homeowner. So although the HORRIBLE mess is still there, it is not the fault of Kulda and Sons, but rather of the homeowner. I apologize for the posting. I assumed because the Kulda & Sons sign was posted in front of the home they were the contractors. I truly believe they were not. We were trying to build a playground area in our backyard and I was texting back and forth with him on what we were looking for and how much it woudl cost. He was super helpful from the getgo with suggestions. The most amazing thing of it all was, we had ordered 2000 lbs of rubber mulch which needed to be laid out on the backyard. I talked to him about building a border around the area. That's really what we had 'hired' him for. We went out for dinner the day he showed up to work on the backyard. We come back and he not only laid the border, installed a liner at the bottom and filled 2000 lbs of rubber mulch in the area, essentially building out a playground! We were shocked and amazed when we came back from dinner! He said I could pay him what I thought was fair. He didn't want to do half a job.

Jamie, Collin (our PM), and the entire crew routinely went above and beyond the call of duty, and were always courteous and honest, hardworking and kept things clean and well-organized. Verdura Construction completed flooring, siding, painting, built a beautiful patio deck and installed a jacuzzi, installed new windows upstairs and downstairs, hung lights and chandeliers, etc. Our home was transformed!
