Poor service!! Came in on a Saturday morning. Place was 3/4 full, only 3 waitresses. Stood in the please wait to be seated are for 10mins. Ok so I am a sucker for good menudo and guess what? This places has it! They serve menudo on Saturday's and it is delish. The servers are quite friendly and accommodating and bring you all the fixing for your soup: oregano, crushed pepper, onions, radishes! I've also had the egg and chorizo dish here and it is dang good. Coffee refills are prompt as are the inquires about how you're doing. The bathrooms as well as the restaurant here are small but they are very CLEAN, which is a big plus. We were patient "Well, she's busy." 15 minutes, now she's pouring coffee, bringing water, and asking people how their meal is. I try to flag her down--she doesn't even look our way. It was about 1:30 and there were almost no other customers so it was easy to get a couple tables. Waitress was quick to get our order and the food came out fast enough. That is about it for the good. The food was just, eh. Nothing special going on at all, iceberg lettuce, turkey lunch meat, soupy mac salad. Eight people with different menu items and no one was impressed. Not a single drink refill. We couldn't even get the waitress to bring our check. If people are standing around with their coats on, they are ready to settle up and go! Where to start. I was in the mood for country fried steak and eggs and we decided to rush over to Scotty's, bad idea, it was packed! We decided to go to greenleaf cafe because of a friends recommendation. I ordered the country fried steak and my friend ordered the huevos rancheros. There are times when you have to scrutinize 4 to 5 star reviews on yelp and say,"hmmm, really?", and this place was the microcosm of that thought. The moment my country fried steak steak hit the table I knew there would be trouble for my cravings. The steak was super thin and overly crusty, but the sledgehammer was the gravy. In your head imagine diluted cream of wheat splattered over your steak and in the center is what can only be described as a gooey substance or curd. I took a stab of the gravy for a taste and I was not surprised. My friends dish was underwhelming, excessive tomato salsa and tiny portions of potatoes and beans. I advised the server that I cannot eat this, It's inedible. Server was surprised but polite and then I requested to change my dish to a menudo. Big mistake, I should have learned my lesson the first time, I ate a little less than half. After I paid my billed, we observed a familiar theme. Wherever we saw an empty table there were dishes with half eaten plates. Hmm, I guess I wasn't the only one who thought the food was underwhelming. Next time I will avoid this place, I hope that others with good sense will as well. No MAS for me. read more

Well. I used to go here as a kid; I remember it being great. But this morning was the third time we tried to eat breakfast here and them being locked-up closed despite their hours posted "open at 7am." I love this place! My grandma and I often have brunch dates here. I've never had any issues with service or food. My go to plates are the chile relleno omelette or the chile verde burrito. The cocido is delicious, it's a bit sad it's only available on Fridays. Today, I was in the mood for menudo. I heard from a coworker that Greenleaf Cafe had the best menudo around, so I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. This is by far the best menudo I've had in a long time. For a minute, I thought my grandma was going to come out of the kitchen. Lol! Also, the flour tortillas that came with the menudo was home made and very tasty. It was a good compliment to the soup.
