We got to chat with the owner Ping very nice gentleman originally from Hong Kong. He came to check on us to make sure everything is good that we like the food. Because it's late there's only one chef in the kitchen, the food still come out fast and excellent quality. Very good service, our server is very busy cleaning up the restaurant while still refill our water and tea and comes over to clean our table. Very polite people here. This is the best Cantonese dinner restaurants in East Coast, forget about going to flushing ny or Brooklyn if you want authentic good Cantonese food, get the real one here. Reminds me of Hong Kong Chow fun is fresh homemade, i've never had better one!! We ordered beef chow fun. Beef with bitter melon so flavorful tender beef. Steam fish fillets so yummy why something so simple so good!! 京都骨 pork chop very light batter sauce not over sweet like those in flushing/Brooklyn, no red coloring added. To die for!! I can't wait to try dim sum here.

I could literally eat my body weight in these! Pro tip: dip them in the spicy Chinese mustard & then into the duck sauce - sweet, heat, crunch... perfection! Just be warned, it is very easy to fill up on these before your meal even arrives! From the dim sum menu, we ordered the deep fried taro dumplings, steamed shrimp dumplings & our favorite, stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic. I wish we had more people so we could order more dim sum items to share! From the regular menu, hubby ordered the lunch combo #14: jumbo shrimp with vegetables, golden fingers, fried rice & egg roll. He loved it & said he would definitely order it again. Golden Palace is an easy add-on if you are at Mohegan Sun! Bonus: dim sum is available daily, which is always a win in my book. This review is for their dim sum menu! Is it the best dim sum ever? No, but it's quite good and…read morereally solid! Dim sum is usually a brunch thing, but we were in the area for a movie and just wanted dim sum for dinner. The two of us ordered the congee with shredded pork and thousand year egg, bok choy, salty shrimp, and off of the dim sum menu: steam rice roll with shrimp, chicken feet, oyster sauce duck feet, siu mai x2, shrimp chive dumplings, and Chinese tea. Forgot to take a photo of the siu mai even though that's our favorite. We also asked for hot mustard and chili oil sauce because that's how my family has eaten dim sum and that's how we now continue to enjoy dim sum. Everything tastes as expected. The chicken feet were nice and soft and fell off the bone. The dishes weren't too salty. The salty shrimp was as advertised--salty and crunchy. The congee is a large portion because it's mostly rice and water, but I just really wanted it and it did not disappoint. The tea could have been more flavorful, it was quite light. Despite that, the tea is still a diuretic. We did end up taking some food as leftovers. The customer service was really fast and polite! The interior is pleasant with interesting decor (a spear/halberd? mounted on the wall). The table partitions are pretty tall so you don't see the other customers if they're seated adjacent. It wasn't very busy when we went on a Wednesday evening, and parking is no issue at all here. Overall a good place to get some Chinese food whether you're a party of two or a party.

Their menu selection is extensive and well priced! They also give rather large portion sizes, and have an " all you can eat" option starting at just $35 per person! They have a variety of options, including those for meat lovers and vegetarians alike! The addition of sesame balls and shrimp dumplings on the side is also a must, as they offer ( as the name says) various selections of delicious dumplings! In regard to the restaurant ambiance and layout, the Hot Pot section is located on the second floor and offers large tables with the heated pad for the hot pot. They also have a large selection of condiments and add-ons to the hot pot on the side of the restaurant. Lastly the servers were very kind and apologetic even after they gave us a non-fully vegetarian broth ( the mushroom name was misleading) and even offered to give us an entirely new pot. I thought this was very sweet and considerate of them. Overall, the experience at this restaurant was wonderful and we will definitely be back for more.

On a Friday evening, I went to 12 Dumplings with a group of three. We knew we wanted hot pot so we were instructed to go upstairs. The staff greeted us upstairs and were seated right away. We looked at the different options - AYCE hot pot and hot pot value combo meal. We went with the AYCE hot pot. There are 2 course options - A or B for a 2 hours time limit. Different items are included with each course option. The dipping sauce and fruit bar are included in both course options. The dipping sauce bar had many different options. The fruit bar included oranges and cantaloupe. Also, there was pickled radish and this was a great side. The A COURSE is $35.95/per person. First step is choosing a soup base. We went with half Japanese Style Pork Bone Broth and half Mala Beef Tallow Broth. We ordered all the seafood/ball options - Cuttlefish Ball, Shrimp Ball, Fish Ball, Fish Tofu, and Quail Egg. From the meat options, we ordered Chef Selected Beef, Australian Lamb, and Pork Belly. From the vegetables options, we ordered Napa Cabbage and Baby Bok Choy, From mushroom options, we ordered both the Enoki Mushroom and Black Fungus. From the tofu options, we ordered Fresh Tofu and Fried Tofu. From the noodles options, we ordered Glass Noodle and Ramen. All the items were very fresh and the staff were very attentive. They came by to refill the broth and ask if we wanted to order more. We all had a great time around a giant pot of flavored broth and took turns dipping in raw ingredients at 12 Dumplings. It is perfect on a winter day and we were stuffed. I can't wait to come back to try their dumplings and dim sum.

Downtown joint dabbling in both old school Chinese American classics and authentic dim sum. Most of…read morethe Yelp photos hit the dim sum, but most of the customers in the large room stick to memory lane. The place is divided into two halves: tiny bar and three rows of booths on one side; large tables with chairs on the other side. Combo plates available both at lunch (M-F) and dinner (any time). -- Sticky Sweet Soy Garlic Sauce Wings: Wow-worthy, with the darkest sauce I've ever seen, looking like someone poured Hershey's syrup on them. Characteristics of teriyaki, soy, and garlic, and intense sweetness, but all balanced and very different, and there may even be Hershey's in there afterall. More importantly, quite delicious. The wings themselves were really good too, bringing firm to crispy skins and tender, juicy interiors. The sauce hardens over time, so eat these fast. But you'll want to anyway. Near-elite to elite. -- Rice Noodle with Shrimp: Lackluster compared to other versions I've tried. Noodle not as fresh and slippery. Sauce not as flavorful. Shrimp were good but spaced out. Below average. -- Sweet and Sour Chicken (on a dinner combo): Ping pong sized/shaped balls of chicken instead of the usual fingers, but these were excellent. Very high meat to batter ratio, good crispness to the exterior, and decent tenderness inside. Sauce served in the side. No pineapples or cherries, but good contrasting flavors to the sauce and no glop. Well above average, even without the fruit. -- Pork Fried Rice (on the combo): A mixed bag, this had light grains with pleasant but subtle flavor, long-in-the-tooth dry pork nuggetry, and some onions. Flavorful or not, that rice had freshness, moistness, and bounce. All things considered, a little above average, but with potential for higher. -- Egg Roll (on the combo): Felt limp to the touch but had a delicate crispness to it. Inside, a mix of celery, cabbage, and pork, with decent flavor and a moo shi feel. Not bad. A little above average. Lots of ups and downs here, but a reluctant 4 stars thanks to the brilliance of those wings. I scouted plates on other tables on my way to the restroom and saw similar highs and lows, but more highs. Even if the potential goes unfulfilled (and I have higher hopes for the old school than the dim sim), the wings alone would bring me back.

They need to replace the old worn out carpet they have...it's stinky and it's dirty. When it rains, the smell is even more pronounced. I drove past it the first time, but the exterior is intriguing, with waterfalls and small ponds with koi fish out front that caught my attention on the second pass. The interior is large and classically decorated, the kind of dining room that was built to handle volume without feeling like a cafeteria. I noticed the koi fish out front have a quarter machine nearby that dispenses food, a small detail that tends to land well if you are visiting with kids. The overall setup is comfortable and well maintained, and the space gave the restaurant a presence that most Chinese restaurants in the area do not match. The dim sum is the main draw, and it is served until 3pm, so timing my visit accordingly was important. I ordered the har gow and shumai, both well executed and holding up against what I have found at comparable restaurants in Boston or New York. The chili oil is good and worth using liberally. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was a standout and worth ordering on its own. For those coming outside dim sum hours, the full menu covers a solid range of Cantonese dishes. I also tried the fried rice, salt and pepper squid, and chow fun, all of which performed well. The portions throughout were generous enough that ordering with a group and sharing made the most sense. On quieter days, the food quality is noticeably more consistent, which I experienced during my visit. For good dim sum in Connecticut and a Cantonese dining room that takes the food seriously, Oriental Bar and Grill is worth the effort of finding.

When we went inside, there was only one other party there and no music, so just whispers and the sounds of utensils against plates. There are about 4-5 booths and 1-2 regular tables to choose from. Since l am not familiar with Sichuan cuisine, I had Al help me choose my dishes. I went with the dumplings in chili sauce, fried rice, eggplant in garlic sauce, and chongquin chicken. While we waited, we were given water. The dishes came out at different times. They first served us the dumplings which were really good. The sauce they were in did have some chili sauce, but it was mostly like a sweet soy sauce and really tasty. It came with about 6 dumplings with a perfectly cooked wrapper and filled with flavorful pork - simple but delicious. Next was the eggplant. I was expecting a heavy garlic presence, but it was more like a sweet and sour sauce. The eggplant was very tender, but really hot so we had to wait to let it cool down a bit. The rice came after. I honestly think this was one of my favorite dishes since it was perfectly cooked, great flavor, and good portion. Lastly, the chicken came out. There was a large pile of chicken, but half of it was peppers. The chicken was cut into little bite sized pieces, each fried perfectly. Some pieces were more tongue numbing than others but it was nothing aggressive; very gentle and comfortable numb. I would have liked if there were music, but the no music was fine too; an escape from chaotic reality. Our total was around $50, which wasn't bad for the amount of food we got. I would come back to try other items.

So after looking up local Chinese joints to eat at, Dynasty popped up. They also offer street parking so that is what sold me on this joint. Considering Boston's Chinatown looks pretty run down, you should never judge a book by it's cover. Walking in, this joint is really bright and clean. The young man working the register greeted us and got my daughter and I a table. The big list of food items was dropped off and we were ready to get the party started! We ordered a handful of things! It's been a while since we have had dim sum so we were ready to put in work. Our food was starting to slowly trickle out. We started off with the congee. It came out pretty fast since it was probably made earlier waiting to be served. Shortly after the rest of our dumplings were making their way to our table. The congee was simple, savory and comforting. It tasted like my childhood. The fried shrimp rolls were tasty, crispy and savory. I have had similar fried shrimp dumplings like this served with a sauce similar to walnut shrimp. That sauce would have been killer with these rolls. The long rice noodles were silky and filled with char sui. The sauce was more vinegar than sweet which is how I have normally had it. Still good! Har gaw and shu mai were fabulous once they dropped off soy and chili oil to dip them in. The turnip cake will always be one of my favorites. My daughter enjoyed the soup dumplings and the rice in lotus leaf. I was too full to try them. Customer service was ok. They got you what you needed but not a lot of exchange in conversation. I feel like most dim sum experiences are like that. The food was so good! I enjoyed every bit of it with my daughter. Parking might be free but very limited and challenging to find.
